Thank you so much Edgar, it's almost like you just came over to my house (in upstate New York) & said "Bob, you need to take better care of your fiddles" ... Any time I have a technical fiddle question, I love visiting your page ....

Help! What is the exact length of the 4/4 cello strings? What is the distance between the body and the bridge?

The 90 degree angle is not always quite so obvious how to measure. At least on my violins the top starts to curve rather quickly behind the bridge. The area in front of the bridge however is flat for a longer distance and I find it easier to measure the angle from there instead by placing the business card to the side of the bridge.

would lubricating the bridge with pencil graphite to help the strings not pull on the bridge so much when tuning?? I have had this happen before, and wondered what caused it.

Thank you, I love your videos. I'm confused about the numbers you gave. 328 mm is less than 13 inches, how can that be?
