My first cheap cello sounded like a wet cardboard box, then I scraped the feet of the bridge to fit the top using lipstick like you showed and also adjusted the soundpost and it got a lot better. They did not have a good fit at first, they had like a 1mm ridge protruding along the side of the feet, like they had put sandpaper on the top and rubbed against it but missed a bit. On my new €3500 cello I moved the soundpost a bit but ended up going back to where it was so it was set pretty well from the beginning.
Hello Edgar I no my question is off topic related to this video but I do have a question that you could answer for me. I am in the process of learning how to make violins and hopefully in the future become a violin maker, my question is some of these instruments that you buy have a certificate of authenticity that comes with them but from what I've seen they're not a certificate it's an actual book. Could you do a video that better explains exactly what this is, because from what I've gathered if it's a printed book that documents everything through its construction, are those certificates expensive to have made up thank you for your time my friend and hope you have a good holidays coming up.

how often should we to to luthier get a sound adjustment?
matur suksma
Was wondering, if this sound post is so powerful, why it's not being used on acoustic guitars?
To the violin student: Please COUNT when you have the tied half note+16th note!

Edgar please do an instrument give away!
Edgar... a Cello is a violin to a giant and a Double Bass is a violin to a bigger giant also...LOL
Pro tip. If you have a gorgeous girl in your video, include her in your thumbnail.
Great content! Crazy editing is very distracting. Cheers C
