I get that people are frustrated but let's look from their point of view. They didn't know it was a crime scene. Hindsight is always 20/20. We need to keep in mind that it was a different time then, as well. They meant well. I doubt that whoever did it left a message saying who he was and what he did. Also, I never heard that they cleaned the house; I doubt they bleached the place top to bottom. There's quite a few inaccuracies in this report.

People actually were a lot more naive and innocent back then. They didn’t even worry when their small children would run off and play for hours, unattended. When your brain isn’t being constantly reminded of all the terrible goings-on in the world, then you’re not likely to know a crime scene when you see it, unless, of course, there’s tons of blood involved, or a dead body.

@user-qv4np3ur5w I've never heard that anyone cleaned the house. Ever. I've followed this case closely for years and listened to/read dozens of reports about it. Not even a rumor about cleaning the house and no mention of Janelle doing anything other than inadvertently erasing the message. Let's use the common sense you referred to. Does it make sense that a teenage girl would clean anyone else's house? After staying up late the night before and getting up early? No way. It didn't happen.

@@michelleprieur1 They did dishes and straightened up as well. I don't know about you, but that's a bit abnormal; even in 1992. Janelle told the police she did this because Suzie and her mother kept a clean house and she knew Sherrill would be angry at the girls for leaving the place busted up. If you look at the police photos taken, Suzie's room wasn't very tidy and the living room wasn't much better. So, what exactly did Janelle and her BF clean? That's my question. She had to of seen the three cars parked at the house as well.

Janelle did not erase the phonemessage! There was a doc where they implied Janis did it but it's pretty unclear.
Janelle did not clean the house. A few adults waiting in the house cleaned some stuff, like cups and an ashtray. You make it sound like they whiped the whole house down.

Like, the assailant is probably connected by th mother and not the two girls. the day before they went missing they were changing plans and locations too much for anyone to really know where they were going to be. So, I seriously doubt someone followed the to girls. But if the mom, while working at the salon, gossiped with another woman and some shit happened. When assailants capture of a group of boys or girls the assailant almost always lets the other kids go free since they're always focused on one. Here the teens were two. But the mom is a single target, and the two girls would just be witnesses. I bet the assailant broke into the house ready to jump the mom, and when two teens also walked in the assailant could have been spooked, but he got control and moved them out ( that's how BTK did it ). Looking at Janelle Kirby's face, she either wasn't well from worry, illness, substance abuse, or knew something she wasn't saying. The last part was her avoidance of eye contact with the interviewer. Plus, Janelle thoroughly dispoiled the crime scene with a cleaning. Why would someone do something that is so ignorant? Like all the other videos on the case making money off of them, everything here is not accurate and there are embellishments.
Porch light: That fixture has 3 small screws that secure the globe, replacement globes sometimes do not fit tight and if the wall is disturbed, like slamming a door, the globe may fall off. I have had these fixtures on rentals, they are cheap and if disturbed the globe can fall off. The only other way to break the globe would be by hitting the globe, knocking it off but the likelihood of breaking the bulb is very high because striking the globe from any side pushes the globe against the bulb as well.
If someone was at the door and Sherrill answered the door, opened the door and was surprised by someone, then slammed the door shut, that can explains the globe falling off. While she might slam the door shut an intruder may have opened the door before she could lock it.
What isn't know publicly is that Stacey cut her foot on the glass leaving barefoot, Suzie was barefoot as well, Sherrill had shoes on. Sherrill was dressed but both girls only had on panties and T-shirts as they were going to bed. Since Stacey was seen with her foot bleeding, the globe was most likely broken before she walked outside and not slammed by the last person out of the house.
PURSES: Maybe the girls were counting their money for the next day, they could all be in Suzie's room, Sherrill say's go get my purse and one of the girls did so. They could have set all three purses together and have gotten some of the contents out, Sherrill to have a cigarette, and perhaps was going to give Susie some money, simply set them down on the floor. OR
Intruders were looking for something they thought Sherrill or another girl had, like a gun used in a crime or perhaps drugs and after searching the purses the perp just sat them down on the floor. Regardless, the position of the purses is not earth shattering, doesn't prove anything or mean anything, other than being a bit odd, being odd really isn't a big deal when 3 people are taken without some hard clues. It's really more of a conversation piece to add to the drama.
There was a tie in to the Galloping Goose Motor Cycle Club, a drug dealer, one business associate of Sherrill's stated she had used drugs, Stacey's ex-boyfriend, the grave robber used drugs, unpaid drug bills can mean you're dead, steeling drugs, you're dead, knowing things that you shouldn't, can mean you're dead.
Thing about organized crime, drug dealers and such gangs can mean some people may come for you that you don't know, or if you know one of your killers you may not know others. Hit men may not have any connection with a victim!!!
