As many times as I hear how they swept the porch, cleaned the house, hung up on the guy as he was speaking, deleted the phone message… Never gets any less frustrating😣
I get that people are frustrated but let's look from their point of view. They didn't know it was a crime scene. Hindsight is always 20/20. We need to keep in mind that it was a different time then, as well. They meant well. I doubt that whoever did it left a message saying who he was and what he did. Also, I never heard that they cleaned the house; I doubt they bleached the place top to bottom. There's quite a few inaccuracies in this report.
Yeah, janelle was an idiot
People actually were a lot more naive and innocent back then. They didn’t even worry when their small children would run off and play for hours, unattended. When your brain isn’t being constantly reminded of all the terrible goings-on in the world, then you’re not likely to know a crime scene when you see it, unless, of course, there’s tons of blood involved, or a dead body.
@user-qv4np3ur5w I've never heard that anyone cleaned the house. Ever. I've followed this case closely for years and listened to/read dozens of reports about it. Not even a rumor about cleaning the house and no mention of Janelle doing anything other than inadvertently erasing the message. Let's use the common sense you referred to. Does it make sense that a teenage girl would clean anyone else's house? After staying up late the night before and getting up early? No way. It didn't happen.
@@michelleprieur1 They did dishes and straightened up as well. I don't know about you, but that's a bit abnormal; even in 1992. Janelle told the police she did this because Suzie and her mother kept a clean house and she knew Sherrill would be angry at the girls for leaving the place busted up. If you look at the police photos taken, Suzie's room wasn't very tidy and the living room wasn't much better. So, what exactly did Janelle and her BF clean? That's my question. She had to of seen the three cars parked at the house as well.
Who cleans your disappeared friends’ house while waiting for the police to come investigate??!
It didn't happen. Use common sense. Research the case, I've never heard of anyone cleaning the house. It's made up. So is that guy living across the street. I don't know where this guy is getting his information but he's wrong on quite a bit.
Someone who had a hand in it
@@michelleprieur1I’ve heard so many reports about this case and have never heard this guy mentioned as a suspect.
@@michelleprieur1 it is NOT made up that the house was cleaned prior to calling the police. I know all 3 ladies very well, and also the idiots, unfortunately that went in and cleaned it. The 8 people that went in and cleaned it, know very much what happened that night. But yes, the story about a guy living across the street is made up.
They cleaned up a bit before they knew anything bad had happened, coz Cheryl was a clean freak
Imagine being so unlucky that a Supreme Court several states away from you releases a known murderer and his brother happens to live across the street from you… where he lands. This devil is going to possibly get paroled in a year or so and he will kill again if ever set free. He can never be let out of prison.
I think about these women a lot. It's as if they disappear into thin air. It's one of those mysteries that drive you crazy. What could've happened to them. 😢
I wish I knew what happened to them. It haunts a lot of people.

I think they are buried under that parking place . name cox
A cop did it
@@remopkr198That is a possibility. Pisses me of that they won’t let anyone excavate the area where they found those formations that resembled human bodies.
I wish I had lots of money or won a lottery, I’d take the first flight there and find out the person who decides these excavation things and ask ”how much” 😬 I bet my left kidney that the only reason it hasn’t been excavated is money.
I think the irony of the man living across the street and the calls coming in exactly as the couple came in the house is mind-blowing. He was probably looking out the curtain as he was calling. I've seen so many videos on this case but never heard about the Son either!
Another great video!!! ❤ This channel 🎉
Out of all the times I have read/heard about this case I never really understood how weird and sketchy the friend janelles actions were. She cleaned the porch then “accidentally” deleted the voicemail then she cleaned the rest of the house. Super sketchy
Exactly 💯💯💯💯 me too
Mrs McCall accidentally erased the answering machine message.
When this happened, I was 10 and lived across town from that house. It’s the first time I ever remember it no longer feeling safe to go play outside, which is where we always were back in the 90’s. This case will always haunt so many people from around here. You can’t drive by any of the places that were once thought of as a possible location for them and not wonder “what if?” Even to this day. So sad.
Janelle sure took it upon herself to do some very stupid things -
Yeah, she made mistakes. Just like any teenager. But she didn’t deserve to die for those mistakes.
I graduated from Kickapoo in '83 and moved away from Springfield. I never knew any of these girls, but I feel terrible for them and their families. I hope some day they are found.
“A long ass fuckin time ago in a town called Kickapoo” lol
“…..there lived a humble family religious through and through”. I didn’t know that was a real place
Did you know Brad Pitt?
First of all;
Janelle did not erase the phonemessage! There was a doc where they implied Janis did it but it's pretty unclear.
Janelle did not clean the house. A few adults waiting in the house cleaned some stuff, like cups and an ashtray. You make it sound like they whiped the whole house down.
Mike dumped the globe glass next to the fence on the right of the house so that could be retreived as well.
Bad Things should list their sources. Very few RUclips channels do but I appreciate the ones that go that extra mile.
I recall it being an officer who accidentally erased it (from other videos). I didn't know he saved the glass from the light, just that he swept it up. I really think the friends were just trying to help. You find broken glass, you clean it so no one steps on it. You're waiting around for your friends, you tidy up the place. It's sad, really, that they disturbed so much evidence, but I really think their hearts were in the right place.
@@emileelamica7701 I think the biggest clue is the broken window casing. Surely, they could find some clothing fibers if someone crawled in the window.
they did wipe the whole damn house down. they did dishes, VACUMMED, and wiped off the counter tops and mopped. Mike THREW the glass over the fence. It was not easy to retrieve all of it.
This case has always fascinated me.
Somebody said today that they received a credible tip it's someone that's deceased and the person that knows who did it is deceased also but the local police are tied into this. So basically a cop escorted them out of the house. Makes sense. How could that Cox guy do this on his own? Not buying it.
Facts💯 But what was the motive tho🤔🤔🤔
Maura Murray always gets me
Me too!
I was stuck at home for several months and went back and read/watched everything I could find on her disappearance.
The information regarding Maura is so limited and NOTHING adds up.
Same thing with this case.
👍
Whose Maura Murray? Haven't heard her name before.
It would be such a relief to find these ladies, it has been far too long.
There must have been more than one person abducting these women! Three adult kidnap victims is a lot for a single person to abduct, murder, bury etc alone without leaving any trace!
You would be surprised at how many people will just do what a stranger tells them to. Especially because they think that if they comply, the stranger will just let them go afterward. The worst cases in the world are when an entire family dies at the hands of a single man, because even the husband failed to put up a fight. Those cases are so hard to listen to. It leaves one feeling sick.
It's happened many times before. There was that awful case of a man who abducted a woman and her 2 teenage daughters, took them out on his boat, tied them up, and threw them overboard. Then the woman and her teenage daughter and daughter's friend who went missing from their motel room and were murdered in a national park. I'm sure there are many more cases. Those are just 2 that stuck in my head.

If someone is pointing a gun at u, you'll do what they say
Takes just one gun
This is a great channel, very under-rated, deserves way more subs.
I'm thinking it had to have something with the mother. Like, the assailant is probably connected by th mother and not the two girls. the day before they went missing they were changing plans and locations too much for anyone to really know where they were going to be. So, I seriously doubt someone followed the to girls. But if the mom, while working at the salon, gossiped with another woman and some shit happened. Maybe a colleague of the mom was leaving her husband who is violent. Or a ex boyfriend of the mom and the two high schoolgirls were just a bonus, you know?
The vibe I get is to do with drugs and info the mom had, so similar to your vibe.
@@JustshillFacts💯 plus they got a tip in saying the person who did it is dead, and the person who knew that person wasn't involved that knows they killed them is also dead and that some past law officials involved Also...SMH 💔💔💔
Why didn't they trace the prank phone calls?
Just seems like no one talks about Gerald Carnahan, he knew the mother and has been convicted of another murder.
@@wescapell2213 Excellent point. It's like the cops thought the two teens were the target. The thing is that sex predators only hunt one girl or boy at a time. When assailants capture of a group of boys or girls the assailant almost always lets the other kids go free since they're always focused on one. Here the teens were two. But the mom is a single target, and the two girls would just be witnesses. I bet the assailant broke into the house ready to jump the mom, and when two teens also walked in the assailant could have been spooked, but he got control and moved them out ( that's how BTK did it ). But I agree with you.
It was a cover up for sure. Someone from spfd. I lived there. There was a hospital being built at the time. In the 2010s grp detected 3 human anomalies. But the cops wouldn’t dig it up. Why?
I think it was parking garage of the hospital?
Yes it is quite messed up that potential evidence was innocently the people doing it thinking they were doing the right thing.
I wonder if this Larry Hall guy is connected to the Angela Hammond case. It was only two years earlier and also in Missouri.
Good question. That case has always stayed with me.
I just wondered that too😔
Somebody was stalking one of them. The other two were collateral damage, witnesses who had to go. All three were probably killed within two hours after being abducted.
Wonder if he could be the one that took Angela Hammond. A two hour straight shot north Her case was on Unsolved Mysteries ect. We’ve never had answers, and so sad her poor mama passed away a few years back.
Great video! Keep these coming!
I live here and it's still scary. It's the case I used to make my little sister more aware. It's ridiculous that they cleaned the crime scene
Does janelle still live there?
I bet the killer sent Janelle a gift basket for covering his tracks. 🤦♀️SMH
Boy, I'm so relieved that it's mentioned that Larry Hall was in The United States. I was going to be confused.🙄
Lol.
I think one guy will have a hard time controlling and abducting three grown women. It's more likely he could manage to take them by surprise and kill them on the spot. But then he would have to dispose of the three bodies himself without being noticed. I think most likely we are looking for more than one perpetrator in this case.
The guy across the street and his brother makes ALOT of sense
Even if he had a gun & told them to cooperate or he'd shoot them?
@@PilotHardythe difficult part is probably to get them in a position where you're able to point a gun at all three at the same time. Depending on the situation and how trained you are it might be possible, but it's a big risk the situation gets out of hand. Would a single kidnapper take that risk? Probably not.
@@zejo65The girls got back to the moms house after 2 am. I’ve always thought that maybe the guy was already in the house and had the mother subdued when the girls got home. 🤷🏻♀️
@@sydneyalisonbakerthat would make sense.
Love the channel keep up the fantastic work Brother ❤
Thanks!!
This case haunts me. I think it was either the ex boyfriend and/or his friends or the guy across the street, I’m sure of it.
Over the years I’ve read many comments regarding Recla’s potential involvement in the women’s abductions.
I am not familiar with the neighbor you mentioned?
I highly doubt a couple of vandals would go from disturbing a cemetery to kidnapping and killing that quickly over a conviction sentence that would be community service.
Are you able to give your own theory at the end of every video (even if it’s repeating some aspects slightly)?
I live 7 minutes away from where the house used to be. I always think of them whenever I happen to be near there. I hope one day the truth comes out. RIP Ladies.
I don't think this had anything to do with the mother
but most likely the daughter ...and her friend was just there
the daughter was the target 😢 drugs, money...
I've always believed and still believe that their 'friend' Janelle and her boyfriend Mike were/are involved in their disappearances. Every single aspect of this case always lead back to them!
What did Larry Hall say about the abduction!?! Where are the bodies?!!! MORE INFORMATION
“This wasn’t Janelle’s only mistake…”
Either she was the dumbest girl alive or she had the worst luck possible. I believe in a coincidence happening occasionally. But Janelle had too many unlucky coincidences happen in a 24 hour period of time…
That's what I thought: if she'd been deliberately sent by the perpetrators to clean-up the crime scene, she couldn't have done a better job.
@@dupplinmuir113Ridiculous. She meant well, it was insanely easy to erase an answering machine message back then. And I've never heard anything about her cleaning anything, other than the boy with her sweeping up the glass.
Who would go in someone else's house and clean?
@@cheryl2962I've followed this case closely and I've never heard of anyone cleaning the house. Never, not Janelle or anyone else. Not one single report I've ever heard even mentions cleaning. Don't believe everything you hear.
Well it isn't true... Janelle and Mike went through the house, ate a bag of crips and walked the dog. They didn't whipe the house down or anything... and Janelle DID NOT erase the message on the answering machine.
So in 1992 a guy named Bart S. was a suspect for a triple kidnapping/murder case in a town named Springfield?!
That sounds like some wild piece of fan fic to me...
😅 duuuuuude I didn't even think of that!!
The police should of traced the phone records. Then they could of found out who left that deleted message on the answering machine back then. The "Friends"who deleted the voice mail &Then cleaned the house. Should of immediately been taken in for questioning as suspects.
Agreed. Bring in the friends to question just to cover all bases.
@@tmn8547I think there's a lot about this case that the police never released to the public.
Back then you couldn’t trace local calls. Only long distance records were kept. Only police could trace it if they had set up the phone before the calls were received that’s the only way back then.
@@JM2U Actually that's not true. They traced a local phone call. To catch the murderer of Kimberly Pandelios. Research it.
this is such a sad and complicated case.. 3 women just vanished over the face of the earth one day, never to be seen or heard from again.. and that was more then 30 years ago. crazy. I wish their family would get some resolution and find out what really happened, so they can finally move on with their lives with peace.
I think it’s obvious that a kidnapper observed girls at the party and followed them home. It’s not a coincidence that they had a party the same night they disappeared
That's what I was thinking. I think it was someone at that party. The women partied all night. Their house was just across the street. The person(s) who abducted them could have snuck in while the women were still at the party. The friend/neighbor that was interviewed seems very unconcerned. Zero emotion. I think she knows more than what she's telling.
@@Lori-lp6uc I think it's not right to imply the woman was involved just because she's not hysterical in the interview. It is possible that she was calm because she has nothing to do with that. She has nothing to hide and nothing to lie about
@@NatBKiev You're right. Some people are just naturally blasé

I seriously doubt Larry Hall did this crime. Would Larry make obscene phone calls? Nope. He didn't. Unless one thinks the obscene phone calls here and the abductions were separate incidents.
Looking at Janelle Kirby's face, she either wasn't well from worry, illness, substance abuse, or knew something she wasn't saying. The last part was her avoidance of eye contact with the interviewer. Plus, Janelle thoroughly dispoiled the crime scene with a cleaning. Why would someone do something that is so ignorant? Answer: they wouldn't unless they were gettin rid of evidence.
I don't think cox has anything to do with it. Attention seeker possibly. More than one person had to have committed this crime. That's what I think
What?! Janel seems dirty. So many "mistakes".
There's never been any report that Janelle or anyone else cleaned the house, ftr. None. Ain't that narrator the same one from @historymarche
A psychic I confided in told me they'll be found but nowhere near where they disappeared from
Like all the other videos on the case making money off of them, everything here is not accurate and there are embellishments.
Porch light: That fixture has 3 small screws that secure the globe, replacement globes sometimes do not fit tight and if the wall is disturbed, like slamming a door, the globe may fall off. I have had these fixtures on rentals, they are cheap and if disturbed the globe can fall off. The only other way to break the globe would be by hitting the globe, knocking it off but the likelihood of breaking the bulb is very high because striking the globe from any side pushes the globe against the bulb as well.
If someone was at the door and Sherrill answered the door, opened the door and was surprised by someone, then slammed the door shut, that can explains the globe falling off. While she might slam the door shut an intruder may have opened the door before she could lock it.
What isn't know publicly is that Stacey cut her foot on the glass leaving barefoot, Suzie was barefoot as well, Sherrill had shoes on. Sherrill was dressed but both girls only had on panties and T-shirts as they were going to bed. Since Stacey was seen with her foot bleeding, the globe was most likely broken before she walked outside and not slammed by the last person out of the house.
PURSES: Maybe the girls were counting their money for the next day, they could all be in Suzie's room, Sherrill say's go get my purse and one of the girls did so. They could have set all three purses together and have gotten some of the contents out, Sherrill to have a cigarette, and perhaps was going to give Susie some money, simply set them down on the floor. OR
Intruders were looking for something they thought Sherrill or another girl had, like a gun used in a crime or perhaps drugs and after searching the purses the perp just sat them down on the floor. Regardless, the position of the purses is not earth shattering, doesn't prove anything or mean anything, other than being a bit odd, being odd really isn't a big deal when 3 people are taken without some hard clues. It's really more of a conversation piece to add to the drama.
There was a tie in to the Galloping Goose Motor Cycle Club, a drug dealer, one business associate of Sherrill's stated she had used drugs, Stacey's ex-boyfriend, the grave robber used drugs, unpaid drug bills can mean you're dead, steeling drugs, you're dead, knowing things that you shouldn't, can mean you're dead.
Thing about organized crime, drug dealers and such gangs can mean some people may come for you that you don't know, or if you know one of your killers you may not know others. Hit men may not have any connection with a victim!!!
