As long as Californians vote democrat nothing will change. I lived in San Bernardino for 15 years left in 79. It’s terrible over there- homeless all over the city. I have an uncle out there and he’s a diehard democrat. I just don’t get it..
If you are a drug addict or alcoholic, the impact is that you will not be able to work and no business owner will employ a drug addict or alcoholic. Therefore you go bankrupt and sell your assets to feed your addiction, and you become homeless. Your own actions are what caused you to become an addict and homeless. An addict is a mental illness, if not treated early he will become a crazy person. He will do anything to fulfill his addiction. And they tend to always threaten the security and comfort of sane communities when their addiction recurs. The obligation of local administration, regional people's representatives, regional judges, regional prosecutors, is to secure sane communities and separate addicts from sane environments. Addicts must be quarantined and rehabilitated far from the community. For the safety and comfort of citizens, the law must be strict, not effeminate.

Our jails and mental institutions are overcrowded. How about sentencing the drug addicts to a place to get well? Research shows an 85% drop in recidivism by putting addicts into Recovery. In the 80’s our state had ample funding for free Detox and Recovery Homes. There are free faith~based programs like Teen Challenge for adults. Working with professionals in the Recovery industry helps the most because they have experience and research in this area.
We are visiting Santa Monica next Thursday. Staying near the pier and plan to spend our time on the pier and beach. Will welcome be safe? Only staying one night
I bike that area everyday and you will likely be safe. There is a police substation on the pier and the promenade. The beach is generally safe. There will be a lot of tourists in those areas so you are not alone. I wouldn't take the train anywhere or even drive near it.

There is no left or right ---which helps no one. We need to talk about how to help California. We need to talk about this welfare state of mind. We need to talk about time and effort wasted on this crap called reparations. We need to talk about TRUTH. But truth scares people.
I think many are homeless because housing costs are too high compared to the wages. How about we incentivize home or apartment building until there exists a 10% vacancy rate? The the landlords will have to compete for tenants and the prices should come down. I think some of the drug use is due to hopelessness of ever becoming a homeowner and the accompanying feelings of disenfranchisement. If the jail all the homeless and drug users I don't think that is necessary and it is inhumane. Just overbuild housing by ten percent - two by fours, draywall, pvc and abs pipe and romex and some portland cement to solve the problem is not that expensive.
You think people are on the street because they are disenfranchised about owning a home? You and people like you are the problem. Housing first has been the mantra for years and look what it has created. A hell scape.
Too many restrictions due to NIMBYism. Also, California has strong rights for tenants and squatters. No one wants to rent to anyone who doesn't have at least 3 times the rent because of this. It's been in the news that in order to rent a one bedroom apartment in SM, one has to make at least $98,000 annually.
@@truther001 Definitely agree regarding the Nimby phenomenon. When I wrote build housing until there exists a ten percent vacancy rate, another way to say that would be that California would builds thirty million or so homes and as quickly as possible. One problem I see is that the Gen Z (currently between 9 and 24 years old) who should ideally already be in their starter homes so that they can start their families while they are in their 20's are being disenfranchised from the housing market by the disparity between incomes and housing costs. One factor is that they are forced to compete for each available housing unit with 1.) Wealthy Foreigners worldwide, (since anyone an the world can buy real estate in the USA with just a tax id number. and 2.) with of course the wealthy real estate investors - not a fair fight.

This man means well..I appreciate that..His manner of speaking is oddly juvenile..hesitant one word at a time, rather than flowing sentences..
He is hungry. A poster man for anorexia
Do you suppose his **Manner of Speaking** is as a result of being KICKED IN THE HEAD 17 times hmmm????
Sounds exactly like "Brand New Animal"'s plot.
Like, eerily exactly.
Are stronger drugs the answer?
Public sec failing system, need private sec security for own protection…. 😮💛😎🍑🌎
My family have millions of dollars in real estate in San Jose and Turlock.
santa monica wanted this.
As long as Californians vote democrat nothing will change. I lived in San Bernardino for 15 years left in 79. It’s terrible over there- homeless all over the city. I have an uncle out there and he’s a diehard democrat. I just don’t get it..
Constitutional carry with no prosecution for self-defense
So sad …. I used to love visiting the Promadad
The ones that have machetes are Gavin's kids, he wants to build them houses. Gavin seems to be a fan of the Walking Dead, he's trying to turn California into a giant tourist town modeled after the Walking Dead.
That's where I rest as much as I can or try to get sleep at night time on the sand at the beach in Santa Monica because of homelessness I have suffered from. I use the restrooms, sinks, and 🚿 shower at least once a week. I barely survive due to a fixed income. I pray 🙏 EVERYDAY for an Asteroid to smash this planet or a sudden world war to happen so for sure I would be gone quickly the sooner the better because this human experience has been trecherous!!! - the end.
Talk about a new way to get people hooked on government. Monopolize thier needle supply
sounds like a social issue. Someone on drugs wont stop until they want to.
Phil Brock is a terrible leader. People need to stop supporting this and stop voting for him as the city council. Thank you John for all your work but please b safe.
The 'new normal'?
It's too late, respectfully.
THIS IS NOTHING TO DO WITH “MENTAL HEALTH “,THIS IS SINFUL WICKED UNASHAMED SIN
No. The pier has been the most dangerous part of Santa Monica even when Santa Monica was safe. In general the eastern half of SM is safer
And what DID they expect with their voting record?
You can give them attention but it may not be safe……😳😳😳
It warms my heart to watch all these rich people try and ignore the fire in their own house for fear of being canceled. It’s actually hilarious. I bet this fool votes for gun control too. Lol!
Explain how he denies homosexual special rights ?
He's no illegal mexican !
Completely support homelessness " it's good for America "
Bear spray must always be in hand.
I’m no **Needle Distribution Expert**; however, everyone understands the **Health Threat** to the public and to unhoused folks if drug users are allowed to share needles
Why are you calling them unhoused instead of homeless?
RECALL RECALL RECALL THE MAYOR
You mean, recall the DA?
@@Evettecord no the mayor, SM is responsible for its own city, this is not an LAC prob
Wow!
Probably time to abandon the entire state
There is no left or right ---which helps no one.
Pettifogging. It's the drugs.
Talk to your city manager
You want to know how the homeless are treated? Read the stories of Andrew Holland and Kelly Thomas.
There is only so much tolerance one can have after being kicked in the head 17 times... now no matter how much guilt shaming liberals give to him, he can finally have the courage to say HELL NO!
Give up and move somewhere else. Please don't die for a piece of ground
BECAUSE SENTENCE AGAINST AN EVIL WORK IS NOT EXECUTED SPEEDILY, THEREFORE THE HEART OF THE SONS OF MEN ARE FULLY SET IN THEM TO DO EVIL
Since this Epoch Times disguised channel seems to do nothing but have guests that criticize California what is "California Insider's" idea of a solution to all that ails California?
This is happening all of the united states.
