      I haven't gotten that many rounds through mine but I will say I've rapid fired 50 round drums maybe 4 times and multiple 32 round clips and havent ever had an issue other than the factory trigger I ordered a red trigger from keep tinkering I'm waiting for it to be installed but this is definitely the Taurus that made me change my opinion on the brand I had one of the 380s and a 40 cal but I was never truly satisfied with it there's so much you can do with this Taurus it's my lil Glock beater

      Keeping count of rounds fired it is easy if you have your log on your agenda even just for year round ammo budget count gives you the pucture clear idea of the value and accuracy of the fire arm for the price paid. G2C is a
      Wonderful option when comes to gand guns

    There is a trigger upgrade made by a fellow calling himself "Just tinkering". He makes a polymer trigger array, both sa/da & sa only, that do NOT have a trigger safety blade. They all decrease the initial trigger pull take up before the break considerably, some more than others, (sa in particular). They also shorten the reset.
    He even has RUclips installation videos to guide you, for the diy guys. I think his line is on either Amazon or eBay. I've replaced mine (sa/da) myself and it's a great improvement. 👍

  • @donlord794

    You may want to upgrade the G2C to an A+, The function of the trigger reset is a short one after the firing of the first round on purpose to quickly fire all following rounds without a full trigger reset, and being a striker fire pistol you also get second strike on a round that may have misfired due to a faulty primer. I have the G2C and PT111 and am in the process of upgrading, Thanks for video just wanted to give out some more info on the weapons capability

    Keep tinkering makes several models of triggers for the g2, G2c, g2s they make them in both SA and the SA-DA like the gun comes with they also sell a spring upgrade for 5$ which I for sure would get the triggers reduce trigger pull by up to 45% depending on the model you go with and also removes the trigger button saftey which makes the gun amazing after the upgrade these triggers are amazing highly recommend I have everything you have done upgrade wise plus the keep tinkering trigger and the gun is my favorite to shoot even over several of my more expensive guns I have. Hope this helps

    G2c I added a competition lakeline threaded barrel and muzzle break stainless guide rod. ADE green dot sight. Smithed the slide it's now a tack driver. Tighter than a baby doe. Ran 500 rounds of the cheap steel case ammo outta the box ran great but then knew I could make it better than stock.

  • @nozlnut36
    @nozlnut36 Год назад +5

    It’s not a double reset. If you want to test the reset, dry fire it, hold the trigger in, cycle by hand, now the actual reset can happen. Mine moves forward just under 1/8 of inch and hits the reset. Taurus designed it to have double fire, in case a round doesn’t fire, you can refire and hopefully the round goes off. Great video!

    I ended up getting the lakeline llc mounting plate and a red dot on mine, same rookie mistake here when installing the mounting plate. It comes a little large and needs to be filed. There is a little dovetail angle on the plate that must be maintained when filed. $40 later I took my time on the 2nd one and using a small flat file kept the original angle when filing it down. It took ALOT of filing. The lakeline mounting plate is the best one on the market right now in terms of how it fits once it's installed, the profile of it fits the top of the pistol better than any of the others. Other plates are much easier to install, though, and they still feel secure on top of the pistol and maintain zero, but they overhang awkwardly on top of the slide. Hope this helps anyone thinking about putting a dot on one of these.

    This is one of my 3 main carry guns. I have a shield 40 for small as possible carry. A Glock 17 with a full size light and red dot. And the G2c right in the middle of capacity and size. It's perfect. Taurus still makes this weapon brand new. I'd take this over the G2c because the slide dimples are nicer than serrations for slide operation. It's really one of my favorites. I do want to replace my sights. I had an optic plate but it came loose a few times so I took it off.

    Try the keep tinkering trigger upgrade too it's night and day compared to the extremely long pull on the stock trigger only downside is you're going to lose the restrike capability but it's a great trigger for only 25-30 bucks compared to changing out Block triggers which cost hundreds

    Love the keep tinkering reset range, only downside is it takes away the doublestrike the factory trigger comes with. Easy install and like I said, makes the trigger feel like a glock’s. After that, it’s a whole new gun.

  • @realwelder3529
    @realwelder3529 9 месяцев назад

    I probably have about 700 rounds through mine. The trigger has a lot of take-up, but the wall is defined, the break is crisp, and the reset isn't too bad. I've had it about a month. I have a few other pistols, but this is the only one with a thumb safety so I have actually been carrying it instead of my Hellcat Pro.

    Have the G2C 40 cal. Have lots of failures to feed with Hornady CRITICAL Defense Ammo. Have you had any of these issues or any thoughts on cause? I just got it about a month ago and have fired about 500 rounds of ball, 30 rounds of defense(another local brand) that all worked fine. I've noticed the Hornadys are slightly longer due to the FTX tech tip.

      Was my first carry gun (see my channel). That .40 was too much for the G2C in my opinion. I got rid of it for a 9mm version. Works flawlessly. Hollow points works great. No fail. My ORIGINAL .40 cal G2C broke. Wouldn’t cock back after shooting. Would just shoot the chambered round and nothing happen after that. Idk what happened till this day but other then that I had 3 other G2C/G2C/G3 with no failures at all. Works flawlessly. (.40 cal) beats up the Taurus G2C to much. I think they should only release .40 for G3 size guns to deal with that abusive power of the .40.

    ....what doesn't need replacement.? The recoil spring assembly....why.? it be a hefty strong azz plastic.
    It's designed as such to be a shock absorber as the slide cycles...it need 'the give' that plastic offers.

    That means 9 years. You can thank Sears for pushing through that legislation when some really old guy had thousands of tools from early/mid 1900's and sued Sears to replace them after a flood. He won, and Sears killed the Lifetime(Lifetime) warranty. Now the true lifetime warrantys are called forever warranty, but it's rarely used because people are still in general uninformed about that.

      As a G2c owner with 3500+ rounds, the oem parts don't hold up. At a little less than 800 rounds, the polymer guide rod began to fail, became loose and floppy, in other words, also the trigger pull became very gritty due to the Taurus oem plastic firing pin sleeve.
      From Lakeline LLC, I purchased an all stainless steel guide rod, also a stainless steel striker guide sleeve, fixing the firing pin system, thereby the trigger pull.
      Result: Decreased recoil, smooth trigger pull, not gritty, a joy to shoot.
      Prior to upgrades, 2 or 3 failures.
      None since.
      Note: BE AWARE, ANY and ALL INTERNAL upgrades, WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. INCLUDES ANY SIGHTS NOT SOLD BY TAURUS AND INSTALLED BY A LICENSED GUNSMITH.

      Taurus doesn't do a hardline stance on that. I can speak from personal experience. They warrenteed my g2c with updated sights and Lakeline internals. My ejector failed and they sent me a new gun..
      Without any upgrades of course. 😢

      No upgrades other than the viridian laser. Easily 4-5000 rounds through it and not a single issue. Ran plenty of the cheap wolf steel through it.

    this is where people, damn near EVERYONE gets Tula and wolf ammo wrong. it is not the ammo. it is the case. ALL firearms manufacturers warn about using steel cased ammo. the ammo and the powder is perfectly fine in all Russian made ammo, and in some cases its better than the modern shitty stuff from the new iteration of Remington. your problems are with the steel casing. steel does not have the same metallurgical characteristics as brass. its much more stiff and isnt as flexible as brass under pressure. the issue is the steel casing.

    Storm Holsters did a really good job on my Taurus g2c with the o light attached! They have a lot of styles, check their Instagram page @storm_holsters they have a link to their email too, that’s how you can reach them.

Next thank you for watching and for your comment...I looked at Storm amongst a few others that were suggested. Thank you for your suggestions. I ended up going with a Buck's Holsters hybrid holster. I shipped them the light which they shipped back with the holster and extra mag holder that I ordered. $5 to ship them the light, easy peezy and I'm very satisfied so far. Okay sir why would you leave your pistol in your car when if you get robbed outside your car's too late to get in your car to get your gun then what are you going to do not try to fight this guy off or whatever it is so therefore why would you leave any gun in your car for someone to attack you and you can't get to it cuz your car most likely going to be locked so answer me that question get back to me Shorty P peace out

      @Van Pittman Thank you for watching, yet you didn’t focus well on my every word. It matters, as there was one key word that you missed. You missed “extra” as in an “extra gun”. I clearly said an extra gun to leave in your car or for your passenger to have access to. See if you carry a pistol on your body then the gun in your center console is the extra gun. If someone attacks you outside of your car then you have your on-the-body carry gun to use should you have to protect your life. One word can make all the difference in the world. @Andy P Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience. Good or bad it is helpful to our viewers who are looking to make a buying decision. In the gun & knife industries I have found that it is normal for the consumer to pay the warranty shipping cost. I would greatly appreciate if once you get the pistol back and take it to the range, if you could let us know how it all turned out. Just picked up my g2c and have yet to put a round through it. Sorry you’re having issues with your pistol. Can you be more specific on the failure of the second strike function? I’d like to investigate this phenomena and try to replicate it to see if I can help explain it. Also, I was told by my ffl store to return the firearm to them for free shipping for warranty work. I have to reread the warranty but I think this free shipping is offered by the store and not through Taurus. I’ll post an update soon.

      @@SharpTungsten I dried fire the gun when I got it brand new out of the box. I pulled the trigger all the way back until the striker fired. The trigger stayed in that position (all the way back ) unless I racked the slide or used my finger to push it forward, back to the initial position. Thanks for the shipping tip. I'll check with my store.

    “If your hands have blood on them”?? Dude. Appreciate the review...but you lost me on the “shower gun” and “blood on your hands” grip reference. I have this pistol at my FFL. Based on my location (regulations) this is a bedside/home defense gun. Appreciate the pet rescue message at the end as that my deal as well. But you lost me a few times.
