Lakeline also now makes stainless keepers to replace the 2-piece plastic ones. AND, it's only one piece instead of two. Much easier to get in and out.
Thanks for the information. I just ordered the stainless keeper. Lots of Taurus parts at Lakeline too.
I got stainless spring retainer/keeper for my G3X as well.
I wondered what that part was, I received one with my upgrade kit. I didn't have one during the disassembly and wondered what I did wrong. I figured since I didn't have one to remove that it must have been for a different model Taurus. Swapping out the old keepers (2) with the one piece stainless is quite simple. Didn't see that anywhere in the instructions,
Thts the only thing I don't feel comfortable removing!! To tricky ...
@bobbyblanco5351 it's pretty easy really.
My new LakeLine striker guide upgrade is actually a fully assembled new striker assembly, including a new steel striker guide (and steel keepers), as well as the general striker/springs assembly. No longer any need to disassemble the standard striker for the new striker guide; just replace the entire assembly. Much more convenient.
I was wondering if that would be the best way to go.
So what do you type in on Lakeline to get the full assembly??
I just replaced the striker guide with the Lakeline stainless guide. It made a world of difference in the feel of the trigger. Next, I'm going to replace the recoil guide and spring. I really like this little G3c. It's never failed to fire and it's pretty accurate in the hands of this old man. Thanks for the video!
Just got myself a G3X and I’m about to do these upgrades. Thanks man 🤙🍻
Great video
Ordered my first pistol a couple of days ago and looking forward to getting these upgrades
Thanks for this video. I had no idea these products existed. I'm excited to try them out. I appreciate the step by instructions with the pointers as I am just learning about all this.
Great video. I was able to replace the guide without any problems. I learned a few things too. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I had already upgraded my guide rod/spring and barrel with Lakeline products, but just installed their striker sleeve. Your tutorial made it simple. Thanks.
Great video and explanation, I will upgrade mine, thank you!
Great video man! Lookin forward to upgrading my G3 TORO
I just did the same upgrades on my G2C but in gold since my frame is desert tan. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 😊.
Excellent instructions and video. Step by step.
Thanks dude awesome video! Just got a g3x and this helps a ton. Haven't got to fire it yet but I want to get rid of the plastic pieces.
Great video! Thanks. I passed on the compensator because of the added length. I concur on the stainless internals. I did the exact mods to my g2c's.
Excellent video. Thank you
I have a gx4 with a very heavy trigger pull,I'm having a tough time getting the Firing pin spring off the keeper. Going to Lakeline to look for an upgrade kit for my gun. Hopefully this upgrade Will happen!👍🇺🇲😁 Thank you sir!
Very Helpful 🤝 goin to change my striker Sleeve n spring hopefully I’ll notice the difference 🤞🏼🥶
I just subscribed to your channel, this video is very helpful and clear, like your holding people hands while showing how to get it done.
Thanks for the video. It was very clear and intuitive.
Ok, so you just built the exact G3 I'm planning. lol. From the Olight to the threaded barrel right down to the internal parts. Great job and great video! You explained everything quite well. Actually, I might go with the gold barrel for the bling factor. Haha
Most beautiful G3 inspired mine 🔥💯
Thanks for this. I am waiting for the stainless steel sleeve and the recoil assembly. I'm changing out the trigger shoe. Also doing some polishing to it. That's it. I really dig my G3. Continued success.
Thanks for this informative video. I just upgraded my Taurus G3XL sticker sleeve and recoil spring one-piece stainless keeper it was beautiful again, Thanks
Hi my name is Pedro, your video nailed it, save us a least 100 buck by doing my self.
The only upgrade you NEED to do, is a 30dollar trigger replacement from keep tinkering. Dude perfected the junky triggers and fixed em
Don’t like them, like the factory better.
awesome video thanks very much.... after seeing this I'm going to go purchase the g3x
Omfg you've been a blessing. Thank you so much for making this video. Now I can order the Stainless Tactical Package for my G3 with full confidence.
Very informative video! Good job!
Awesome information, thank you for this video
I miss living in Anderson. Thanks for the video!
Been looking to upgrade my EDC thank
Great video! very helpful.
Great job
Love TAURUS innovative company producing good quality reliable guns!
Bro bad ass video. I'm upgrading thanks to this.
Galloway also makes some parts for Taurus. Good quality as is Lakeline.
Good to know, thanks!
Great DIY👍👍👍
Good info well recorded
Great video
Keepers, you can replace them plastic “keepers with a stainless from lake line now. Just did mine.
I like the comp on the barrel but I wish lakeline would make one a different shape maybe square to match the slide but still cool to have this one,I just think it screws the lines of a nice looking gun up a little too me.
Helpful
The only issue with a compensated barrel is low light shooting. I had a Springfield 1911 with the V-10 compensated barrel. It would blind you in low light due to the fire coming up out of the ports.
Would be nice to see some before and after shooting video. Otherwise nice job!
I upgraded all three of my G series guns and ever since then each of of them keep making mis fires (duds). I contacted Lakeline for some feedback and they gave me nothing--they said the guns are dirty ; and they are not dirty these are clean. The misfires (over 10%) started as soon as I placed the parts in them....bad customer service. BTW, I followed this step by step instructions to the letter.
I’d pull it all back apart, clean, and re-install.
Understood, but tall three pistols at the same time having the same problem in clean conditions?@@DefenseTrainingSC
I just read something where someone commented that if you bought the entire striker assembly they use a weaker spring resulting in light strikes. This guy just replaced the sleeve and reused the stock spring. Just passing info along, not sure if the info is even correct but thought it was worth a mention.
Factory recoil spring is 16 lb lakeline 18lb
Perfect instructional video and I will save it because eventually I'll get these upgraded parts for my g3 1 piece at a time. That said a couple questions. 1. With that stiffer recoil spring would it make the weapon more able to shoot high pressure +p ammo more safely? and 2. Would that recoil spring negatively affect functionality of standard pressure ammo?
I should help it from wearing out as quickly with the higher pressure ammo. Won’t hurt standard, will help feeding as well.
Good stuff I’m glad Lakeline is out there hooking us G series shooters up.I’m still rocking mine stock but I’m definitely getting everything in the video soon I’m trying too decide what color I want for the barrel.does anyone know if any other company makes barrels for the G’s??
I haven’t seen another company that does.
@@DefenseTrainingSC cool thanks.I just saw that you make holsters,I’m assuming there’s a link somewhere to buy?aww I see it,NM
www.DefenseTraining.org/Holsters
How is the black barrel holding up? Like the look but maybe silver is better if it is going to wear off anyway
Lakline makes a optic plate for that exact model and you can mount a optic on it then that gun would be completely decked out!! You can even change the back plate to a custom punisher one to
😂

me gustaría cambia esos accesorios a mi tauros g3
I replaced the parts, but did not really notice much difference for the trigger smoothness.
Should have bought the Baldr S. Better fit for the G3. The Baldr mini better match for the G3C
I actually have several of each
Obrigado.
Quais miras vc colocou? É tritium.
Great video. Did any of these mods improve accuracy? My G2c is stock, new and shoots like shyt. Ive put 300 rds through it and maxed the rear site out and it is still way off.
What was the total output? Just got mine. Haven’t taken to range yet. But this seems interesting.
Great vidieo on great value priced firearm. BUT with my fat fingers those keepers aren't that easy to get back on. SC Strong
I learned quite a bit from this video thank you. Is there anyway i can get a link to find a place to order these parts?

any recommended holsters for the G3 running a tac-light?
What about a binary trigger too
Is the G2 and G3 up grade the same. Also how can I get the upgrade for my G2
I changed striker spring as well. Put 6lbs spring from Glock. O man what difference
great video my man, replaced mine just the same as you but i noticed after firing the weapon several times the compensator starts working loose and i end up tightening it fully. did you have the same experience ?
Yes, if you shoot it a good bit it will. You can put a little blue locktite on it and it’ll stay in place.
Is the firing pin spring the same dimensions as Glock? It looks like absolutelly the same...
Was thinking about starting with the lakeline recoil spring. Is it worth it to do just that starting off? I am also looking into the barrels.
Depends on what you’re looking to do. If you’re having feed problems the spring May fix it, if you’re looking to reduce recoil the ported barrel is the best bang for the buck.
Question. Do you know if there is any extended safety that can replace the stock one? Like a thicker/deeper one? Thank you!
Not that I know of.
The tool that you show at 4:11, what is that tool and where did you get it? Thank you for your answer.
It’s a clay carving tool, they work really well for firearm maintenance. Here’s a link to the set. amzn.to/3UjovI8
Hello. Where did You buy this all parts? Very good clip.
Lakelinellc.com
Excellent video, thank you! While these improvements all seem worthwhile, the question is does buying the G3 make any sense if these upgrades are needed? The guide rod is $36/39, the striker sleeve $15, the SS retainers $12 plus shipping, so now my cheap Taurus gun is not so cheap. What bothers me most about the G3 is the rear sight on the new G3 which is all black. (I like 3 dot sights) The long trigger pull may be an issue to some. I think the texture on the handle is excessive, but some sandpaper will solve that. Can you elaborate on how the upgrades improve the trigger pull?
The striker sleeve smooths the trigger pull out especially in the double action on restrike it’s not so gritty.
The texture on grip is ridiculous
@@edwardzamorski3711 I actually like it
Does it need oiling for this part?
Not the striker parts.
Do you have the links for this stuff i want to do some upgrades but are difficult to find for my g3

Where can I get the metal Striker for the G3C
Lakeline LLC
How wany lbs did you put as the new recoil spring??
I’m pretty sure it’s a little heavier than stock but it doesn’t say on their website what the lbs are.
Do I need to put the o ring in it came in the package with the composater
Yes, it helps set the position of the compensator.
@@DefenseTrainingSC done thank you
were you order the barrel??
Lakelinellc.com
As soon as my G3c gets back from factory warranty work. And if it then doesn’t failure to feed, light primer strikes and stovepipe…all in first 37 rounds, I may keep it. 😡
I have the G3 c wanted to upgrade to the XL for red dot , and the slide came on sale ,, still has the plastic stricker shim , but I will order and replace that , I contacted Taurus to see which barrel and spring to replace it with , wasn't the barrel i expected , what is the part number for the barrel you used

whats the flashlight u got on it?
Olight Baldr mini
my man thanks@@DefenseTrainingSC
is the taurs g3 or the taurus g3 toro?
It’s the g3 in the video but works for both.
Real life . under stress some may not some actually count .. worst case scenario some unload until threat down .. difference between close threat..trained ... multiple threat ....and fearing for life... being able to recover.. actually hitting Target under stress and drop..and not waste ammo for other things is a concept
How to order.overseas?
Unfortunately most companies won’t ship gun parts overseas.
The Lakeline upgraded parts are great to make the firearm better. You want an upgrade to make this gun great....install a KeepTinkering trigger.
Yeah, I know a lot of people have done that and like it but I tried one and wasn’t a fan.
Maybe try taking it to a gun smith?@defensetraining3793
That's what I've always said. Unless you're special forces or swat, you're not counting crap
Any issues with hollow points ?
None
@@DefenseTrainingSC I had a g3 and the slide would lock up when I would chamber a hollow point I am worried I'll run into the same problem if i buy agian and I know taurus has a different angled feed ramp
I had one of mine do that but it was a defective magazine. I could use all but that magazine would do that. That’s the only time on any of them I have that’s happened.
@@DefenseTrainingSC oh I see and I'm really like the g3 tactical might end up getting it but still have that one issue in the back of my mind we'll see how it goes
Yeah, the G3 tactical is nice. I put a lakeline industries compensator on mine. I really like it.
Did anyone else squint when he turned the flashlight on
Why not just buy the G3 Tactical?
I have the G3 tactical, the spring upgrades are better than the factory tactical ones as well.
@@DefenseTrainingSCSorry I guess I should have said then you wouldn't have needed to change the barrel and add the muzzle brake.
@@johnchildress7594 in all honesty I suggest getting the G3 and adding the barrel with the built in compensator.
@@DefenseTrainingSCThanks, just asking as I'm looking at getting a G3 in the next couple of weeks.
“Ahhh..!! THERE WAS A FIRE FIGHT…!!!!!!!” What if I was one guy with 6 guns? Lol sorry every time I hear someone say fire fight I have Boondock saints flash backs!
Why upgrade… ? No need to waste your cash. The gun goes bang without these replacements.
It makes a big difference for sure and it’s fun.
Why buy a budget gun to add upgrades by the time your done you could have paid for a better gun !!! But hey its your money!!!
Mainly because once you do the upgrades it’ll shoot much better than the more expensive guns, so at that point you have to upgrade the expensive ones to be better and then you’re in more money.
You only have to buy it once
Why buy a glock and buy a 350$ flash light i have more in upgraded psrts than the cost of the gun but id bank my Iife on it were talking about 13 bucks here
Taurus is better than Glock… prove me wrong… still waiting…
I’m actually a fan of the Taurus line up over the glocks. Have both but shoot the Taurus’ more.
@@DefenseTrainingSC thank you finally someone prefers Wendy’s over McDonald’s!! 😂 g3 series specifically is my favorite.
I know replacement of the barrel recoil spring and trying to use a threaded barrel with a compensator it's going to end up jamming on you so you have to use the original.. the recoil stainless steel is for heavy loads and will jam your pistol if using the Lakeland threaded barrel with a comp
It hasn’t jammed with mine out of many many rounds.
What is the purpose of upgrading the striker guide? Does that just ensure that it has straight strikes on the fire pin every time? Or prevent it from wearing down?
The striker sleeve smooths out the double action trigger pull. It gets rid of the gritty trigger as well. Sometimes just cleaning the plastic one works, or you could sand and polish it up, but for $15 a stainless one was the way to go for me.
The pistol now looks Fake and Toy like with that tip at the muzzle. The up grades are fine BUT that tip RUINED it for me.
It works good, they now make a built in compensator for the g3 now. I have a build video on the g3xl that has that barrel.
I Removed all the Lakeline parts from g2 and g3 and now instantly, no more misfires. Lakeline claimed it was because my guns were dirty. They were wrong and I knew they were wrong. Poor customer service. I am narrowing the problem down to the SS housing or the single piece spring retainers. I went from 10 to 15% misfires back to 0% after I placed original taurus parts back in the guns. Anybody want to buy my Lakeline parts from me cheap? Only used for 300 rounds each.
I’d put it all back with the stock retainers and see how that does.
