Quite welcome and thank you for watching! Yes... with 9mm being so popular, people forget it is also avail in 40. The great part is, you are getting 10 rounds of 40 s&w in the same package and size of guns where you get 10 rounds of 9mm. For defensive purposes, this is great! My friend is a huge fan of 40 so I gave him this gun and kept the 9mm.

I just got it today in .40 and it's just as easy to manipulate. I use my index finger for mag release and it's almost effortless since all of my handguns are more "righty" friendly.
The so-called "snap" of the .40 gives me reassurance that the weapon has cycled. Also at the time of its introduction, the .40 cal was the closest round in performance to a .357 magnum in a concealable compact. At that time there was no striker-fired 45 ACP compact such as the S&W Shield or a light easy to carry 5 shot .357 such as the Poly Protector by Taurus. A Ruger SP101 (great gun) weighs nearly 2 lbs. At that time the Glock 27 was about the only choice. I carried a Glock 27 for over a decade. I now carry a Shield in .40 and alternate between the G2c in .40 and a Poly Protector in .357. If a concealed carry is heavy and drags your pants down you won't carry it all the time. I carry all the time.

I regularly hear caveats about the .40 S&W being an effective round, but . . . followed usually by an adverse comment on its higher recoil than is the case for 9mm. My experience is different - significantly so. I have two essentially identical Taurus pistols - a Millennium G2 in 9mm and a G2c in .40 S&W. After shooting them both at the same range session, I found the recoil impulses to be different, for sure, but also at odds with anecdotal descriptions. I have since asked 3 different shooters to fire them side by side in an A:B test at the range, and all 3 have come to the exact same conclusion as mine: the .40 is easier to control. The recoil impulse of the 9mm is sharp - leading to more muzzle rise and higher slide velocity; the impulse of the .40 is more like a "push" - and is more controllable, as well as faster back on target for a follow-on shot. It may be my particular gun; perhaps the recoil spring rate; perhaps the ammunition; perhaps the particular grip geometry and polar moment of the Taurus. I don't know - but it is definite, it is obvious, and it is reliably the case to the degree that I willingly forgo the extra two rounds of the 9mm for the controllability of the .40. After all, shot placement matters, and if you don't hit your target . . . I think there are a few things worthy of note: 1, I also have a S&W 4006 in .40 that is much heavier than the Taurus; its recoil impulse, counterintuitively, is much worse. These were CHP issue guns that were discontinued in favor of a return to 9mm. I think the CHP mistake was not in the choice of .40 as their caliber, but rather in the choice of gun to fire it. A more controllable gun might well have resulted in the .40 staying in service. 2, I suspect this observation is extensible across a wide variety of arms. I own a .458 Winchester Magnum bolt-action rifle, made years ago to my specifications. It has a heavy, steeply-pitched rollover comb and a Mannlicher stock - to the muzzle. It is also Mag-na-Ported. I would far rather (were it not for the outrageous cost of .458 Magnum ammo) shoot that rifle than a .30-06 Remington 742 that I also own. The 742's recoil velocity is "snappy" and uncomfortable to shoot; the .458's - again - more like a "push." There's a dramatic difference - at least for me, as well as among those I've shot with who've also compared the two - in the perceived controllability and comfort, as well as "confidence" in the weapon with the lower recoil velocity. 3, and finally, it could also point to an overlooked opportunity in gun tuning, with consequences in competitive shooting or self-defense. Slide lightening to reduce slide cycle time and increase firing rate might well, in certain cases, be counterproductive if it results in snappier recoil. Muzzle displacement upwards is the bugaboo of rapid fire; the further back down that you have to bring a muzzle for a follow-on shot, the longer it takes. A minor flip is much easier to control. Tinkering with the recoil characteristics specifically to minimize recoil velocity might prove to provide a competitive advantage. In a gunfight, that's a life and death advantage. I bring this up because you read a lot about recoil and controllability, but usually the discussion centers on recoil energy figures. I think that shortchanges the very real and perceptible - and perhaps more important overall - effect of recoil velocity. I'd rather be pushed firmly than punched. It seems more in keeping with what a body or nerve/muscle system is equipped to deal with. At any rate, it's at least worth considering and observing, and being alert to the fact that effective, competitive, and survivable use of a weapon is what matters, not numbers in a ballistics table.
What ammo would you suggest for the 40. I bought some off brand to use for just target practice and it will not feed properly. Maybe the magazine spring is still new?
I recently purchased this model Taurus. Absolutely terrible trigger when purchased but upgraded with a KeepTinkering trigger. The KeepTinkering trigger has made a great improvement, highly recommended! Both my magazines have a little bit of play where the magazine cap meets the pistol grip. This will pinch your palm when fired. Does anyone know where I can buy extra magazines or will another manufacturer’s magazine fit this pistol?
The Taurus G2C has Excellent Ergonomics overall no doubt. I'm Left-handed myself and it feels Great in the hand. The Grip, Overall Feel, and Feel in the hand while shooting is Very Good. Recoil energy I thought was present, but not bad at all. Muzzle flip was non existing. Very Very good Compact EDC Pistol if you can master that long pull trigger but that Reset is crazy Short, which is Awesome. It's a Darn Good Striker-Fired Pistol 💪
i was waiting for a better review of my g2c in .40 in my opinion is kind of challenging to control it but i love shooting it at the range! i also have a pt92 in 9mm wich i love even more! great job with this video! im subscribing now!
The g2 pt140 is pretty sweet it has an extra feature the g2c does not which is totally useless and possibly a problem if you bought it used and didn’t get the key. I hope they make the g3 in .40
@@spiegelknee-da-girls7309 are you asking about the gun or the caliber? 9 to 40 is fairly simple, different barrel and breech face/extractor and different magazines. I am also assuming different weight recoil springs.

Thanks for watching. Possible it is you, or the ammo... or the sights... try different types of ammo and see if anything changes... then either get someone to look at your trigger discipline or just drift the sights to where they need to be... or adjust the adjustable sights. Hope that helps.
ankle carried a kahr cm40 backup for a long time. .40 out of these short barrels has signficantly more energy than .357 out of the same barrel length because of cylender gap, while having a 5+1 and a bigger cross section. just not a lot of interest recently in .40 ever since we decided new 9mm is superior... but i think we have ignored the poor expansion performance of most defense rounds out of these short barrels. larger calibers actually get a higher percentage of their final energy (not velocity! which is exponentially related to energy) out of a shorter barrel compaired to 9mm. i do think that .40 guns tend to tear themselves appart at about 5x the rate as 9mm ones... but thats why this cheap gun might be perfect.... ide go with the stainless version if you can find it, i had my 9mm version rust a lot on me constantly but mostly just surface petna like the sigp365xmacro thx for uploading and cool tnt shirt
Indeed. Most G2C and G3C models have an external safety on top of the internal ones. Only the G3C SR model has the external safety removed., but that is not available in 40 SW.
So it would be more than a barrel swap, you would need a 40 to 9 conversion barrel instead. Better swap the complete slide. In reality though, for around $250, just buy another gun. =)
Great video. My Taurus G2C, G3 and TX22 are great firearms. They are all accurate, reliable and eats everything I feed them. My G2C and G3 are 9mm and I would like to get pistol chambered in 40 S&W and my preference is a Taurus PT140 Millennium G2. I know it's an older model but I think it would go well with my current Taurus pistols. Thanks for the review.
I have the PT140 Millennium Pro and absolutely love it. The grip is a bit small for my big hand but it shoots beautifully. There is an issue with light strikes on some ammo. Just make sure that you are using Federal primers and there will be no misfires.

i had the pt111 millennium from back in the day then i bought the the g2c 9mm here lately i find the slower moving 40 s&w is more accurate then the faster 9mm and the 40 definitely is more price effective over the 9mm i like the 40 more then the 9mm version of this gun better but the 9mm version has more mag compacity then the 40 i hunted hogs in fld up close rang with my 40 when the dogs would flush the hogs out of the palms and the 40 was vary impressive then my 9mm kaltec rifle i was using at the time the 40 would drop a fast moving hog quicker then my 9mm rifle i used for hunting hogs with jhp ammo the 40 is vary impressive indeed
I recently purchased this gun still waiting the 3 days to pick up I didn’t even think about the safety on one side how difficult would you say this gun is for a left handed person?

That would be great, but I am afraid 357 sig is on its way to being a dead caliber. GREAT caliber, but now with 40 SW being less popular, 357 sig even less so. If you really want one, you should be able to get someone to make you a 357 sig barrel for it... everything else is the same.
I looked at doing that for my Glock, but 9mm for 40 frame. By the time I bought all that I'm almost at of the price of just buying the complete 9mm gun.
Generally yes. The issues arise when someone is on drugs and their brain does not understand the pain and keeps on going. 40 has more energy... But at a price. Thanks for watching.
That depends on where the person (who is a threat) is shot at and if he/she is on drugs. Now if you shoot the person, who is a threat to you and everyone else around, in the leg or anywhere where the bullet severed a main artery or somewhere important in the human anatomy. You kill the person for shooting the main artery or possibility paralyze someone. Look at the Jacob Blake shooting. He was shot multiple times and he's paralyzed now.
I just recently purchassed a Glock G22. This was my 1st foray into the 40 S&W cartridge, I was apprehensive but for a Gen 4 G22 that looked almost brand new @ $250.00 I couldnt pass it up. I fell in love with the caliber and now I'm looking for a carry size pistol in 40 S&W. I dont think this is made anymore, I own the G3C so I would love to see that pistol in the 40 cartridge! I would definitely buy one. Thanks for the vid!
I’m probably going to get this for my wife she likes how 40 sw and I have like 40 rounds left. I’ll get this and g3. I seen the g3 for about 230 but I’m going to trade in my bodyguard the trigger pull on a 380 is about 9 pounds which is ridiculous
My edc is a glock 36 45acp everyone has there own preference its about what you are comfortable with some people can hit their targets with a 9mm better or 40 and 45 i dont even argue about which cal has more power and energy at the end of day train yourself to hit that target when the day comes!

I just had a pawn shop sell me a brand new what I thought was 9 mm. Turns out I got this gun, he gave me 9 mm ammo to go with it and I was wondering why it wasn't shooting right.
I felt like the G2C. 40 S&W had a little heavier trigger pull than the 9mm variant. I could be wrong but it did seem that way when i shot both of them. Good little EDC pistols nonetheless.
In comparison they are not far from each other in terms of energy & ballistics clearly the 40 is more powerful but if you want some real juice go with a 10mm
WE ARE FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO BUY EXTRA MAGAZINES FOR THE PT 140 2C CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT OTHER PISTOL MAGS ARE THERE THAT WILL FIT THIS PISTOL. I HEAR SIG FITS THEM IS THIS TRUE .
I have a PT740 and G2C .40cal. I also own a TX22. Im not a fan of 9mm but given a choice I would buy a GX4. But as long as I can buy a .40cal option I will buy the new G3C (yes,they come in .40 now!) or a TH40.
I don't believe it would be fun to shoot. I have a glock 22 and prefer to use a 9mm barrel because I shoot more accurately. So 15 vs 17 rounds helped me choose which to carry.
What is length of pull in a pistol. Length of pull is the measurement from the buttpad to the trigger in a long gun . At least that's the way I understand it.
Thank you for shooting single handed. People dont realize you could get hit in the arm and can only shoot with one arm . The target shooting stance is rare in most real life situations. Great video.
Thanks for watching and your comment! For sure, you need to be able to shoot 1 handed, both strong and weak side. Another good reason is that people will have a tendency to limp wrist a gun.

Big 40 S&W fan here … and Big Taurus fan also …
Thanks for watching and your comment!
Im a lefty and the right handed controls dont bother me. I also switched the mag release button to the right-side to accommodate my wrong handedness.
Glad to hear!
How u do that
I recently purchased this model Taurus.
It's actually hammer fired
Just curious. Sry. Do you personally prefer the 9 or the 40?
Between the two... I would take the 9mm. My friend would take the 40. =)
Good vid with info. Very in depth 🙂
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.
@@SlavGuns Yeah thanks. I like your style, subscribed to your channel👏
@@qasimw.4502 Thanks! Got plenty of Taurus videos including G3C, TX22, G3 and the brand new GX4. Oh, and the G3C Toro.
i was waiting for a better review of my g2c in .40 in my opinion is kind of challenging to control it but i love shooting it at the range! i also have a pt92 in 9mm wich i love even more! great job with this video! im subscribing now!
Thanks. I am glad you found the video helpful and thanks for subscribing. I recently got the G3 and G3C so will have those videos soon.
Slav Guns trust me...! I am impatiently waiting for those videos! great budget guns all 3 of them! looking forward to get them all! 😁
Could you put a 40 slide assembly on a 9mm body
I have not tried but assume yes. Will try with friends gun.
Scrolled down with the same question in my head
Question by chance are the mag for the g2c 40 fit the Th 40?
Looking at a few websites, no, does not look like they do. TH40 mags have a different angle on the baseplates than the G2c.
@@SlavGuns ok thanks
Great video for the money you really can't beat it. I love mine got both 9mm and s&w 40 cal
The g2 pt140 is pretty sweet it has an extra feature the g2c does not which is totally useless and possibly a problem if you bought it used and didn’t get the key. I hope they make the g3 in .40
Really tempted to see if that happens. I do have a G3 and a G3c in 9mm that I picked up and will be doing reviews on those soon.
Slav Guns ya the g3 is sweet too I’ve had a little trouble with some ammunition jamming up tho
Extra feature?
What's the difference between the 40 cal and the 9 mm in terms of size ?
The guns? Exactly the same.
@@SlavGuns Ok, but what's the difference between the two , kindly explain ?
@@spiegelknee-da-girls7309 are you asking about the gun or the caliber? 9 to 40 is fairly simple, different barrel and breech face/extractor and different magazines. I am also assuming different weight recoil springs.
Love the G3. Have the compact 9 and I’m ready to get the 40.
Right on! Thanks for watching and your comment!

Is there any extended mags for the g2c .40?
Try Sig p226 mags? Otherwise I am not sure unfortunately
@@SlavGuns do you think the sig sauer p229 .40 pro mag would fit the g2c .40?
@@JuanAlvarez-ge8xh Um.... not really sure.... in terms of it sticking out. And i don't have sig p226 or 229 anymore to try. Sorry, really wish I could be more help on this!
Excellent review. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video, do you know if it’s safe to shoot plus p ammo through the G2C 40 cal?
That is what I shot through mine.
i have the taurus g2c 9mm and it shoots about a inch high and 1 1/2 inches left i just wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me i wanted to watch some other people shoot it too! good video!
Thanks for watching. Possible it is you, or the ammo... or the sights... try different types of ammo and see if anything changes... then either get someone to look at your trigger discipline or just drift the sights to where they need to be... or adjust the adjustable sights. Hope that helps.
@@SlavGuns okay thanks!!
@@hunteroguin4952 Quite welcome.
ankle carried a kahr cm40 backup for a long time. .40 out of these short barrels has signficantly more energy than .357 out of the same barrel length because of cylender gap, while having a 5+1 and a bigger cross section. just not a lot of interest recently in .40 ever since we decided new 9mm is superior... but i think we have ignored the poor expansion performance of most defense rounds out of these short barrels. larger calibers actually get a higher percentage of their final energy (not velocity! which is exponentially related to energy) out of a shorter barrel compaired to 9mm. i do think that .40 guns tend to tear themselves appart at about 5x the rate as 9mm ones... but thats why this cheap gun might be perfect.... ide go with the stainless version if you can find it, i had my 9mm version rust a lot on me constantly but mostly just surface petna like the sigp365xmacro
thx for uploading and cool tnt shirt
Thanks for sharing!
Does it have a safety?
Yes
Indeed. Most G2C and G3C models have an external safety on top of the internal ones. Only the G3C SR model has the external safety removed., but that is not available in 40 SW.
Got mine and I didn't find it snappy. Great shooter.
can you review the Taurus TH40c?
Can you buy drums for these ?
I have not seen any high capacity mags or drums for Taurus pistols, especially the 40 S&W.
Do the barrels swap.? Can you throw the 40 in the 9?
@@keith9875 I found a good deal on a PT140 Slim and just waiting on the ammo to be delivered. Can't wait to get to the range and try it out. I am still on the lookout for a good deal on a PT140 but not in a rush. I am building a nice Taurus collection with the G2C, G3, TCP, TX22 and the PT740. Thanks for the information.
Could you do a barrel swap 9mm to 40 cal?
Humn, I am not entirely sure. Probably need to swap the slide... not just the barrel, unless someone makes a 40 to 9 conversion barrel.
But at that point, you really ought to just buy a new gun for like $250. A new barrel will cost as much.
Know this is a bit of an older vid. But any recommendations on red dot optics brand for this .40?
I love my 9g2c but I really like that 40 if it can take those extra extended mags like the 9mm I'll trade mines but no time soon thou
Thanks for watching!
Make sure it's a double stack.
i had the pt111 millennium from back in the day then i bought the the g2c 9mm here lately i find the slower moving 40 s&w is more accurate then the faster 9mm and the 40 definitely is more price effective over the 9mm i like the 40 more then the 9mm version of this gun better but the 9mm version has more mag compacity then the 40 i hunted hogs in fld up close rang with my 40 when the dogs would flush the hogs out of the palms and the 40 was vary impressive then my 9mm kaltec rifle i was using at the time the 40 would drop a fast moving hog quicker then my 9mm rifle i used for hunting hogs with jhp ammo the 40 is vary impressive indeed
I recently purchased this gun still waiting the 3 days to pick up I didn’t even think about the safety on one side how difficult would you say this gun is for a left handed person?
It should not be an issue at all. You should be able to manipulate it with your trigger finger.
I am pleased that Taurus stepped out I cannot wait to get One it will be a Taurus G2C40 And I will definitely begin my son his 1st Gun And it will be a Taurus g2c and I will get the G3 I hope they make up 357 that would be special
I'm an American born Slav myself, I also follow the AK Operator Union's channel.
So Exactly which brand and type of Ammo would you recommend is #1 for this G2C 40 S&W?
Wish they would make a .357 sig barrel for this. Love mine with the stainless slide
That would be great, but I am afraid 357 sig is on its way to being a dead caliber. GREAT caliber, but now with 40 SW being less popular, 357 sig even less so. If you really want one, you should be able to get someone to make you a 357 sig barrel for it... everything else is the same.
I have the taurus g2c 40 ,what would be a compatible mag to fit and have more ammo capacity?
I am not sure on aftermarket high capacity mags. I would look into if anyone has G2C extended base pads instead.
If you buy a g2c 40 slide , barrel. And recoil spring. Could you put it on 9mm. Body
Good question, I am thinking yes... but have not tried it. I am thinking at this price, just buy a second gun! =)
I looked at doing that for my Glock, but 9mm for 40 frame. By the time I bought all that I'm almost at of the price of just buying the complete 9mm gun.
Wish they made this in the G3C IN 40SW !!! MAKE IT HAPPEN TAURUS +!
They did in late March. I got 2. They come with 3 10rd mags. Sportsmans and academy show them.
They did it's out there g3c 40 cal!!
I have it in 9mm going to get the 40 next week ASAP
they have also come down in price and are great values. And I have not seen the G3C in 40 SW yet...

Is it a double stack magazine
I just today at a range seen it was available in .40 S&W and was thee same exact prize as the 9MM one I already have got!
.40 Cal fan. I like the Hogue rubber grip on my Glock 33 and 22.
If they work for you, that is great. =) I find they are comfy but in the summer, makes your hands sweat A LOT.
9mm is plenty powerful enough not many people walk away from it when shot by a 9mm my thought
Generally yes. The issues arise when someone is on drugs and their brain does not understand the pain and keeps on going. 40 has more energy... But at a price. Thanks for watching.
@Su!c!de Surv!vor it's not like the movies when they are hitting head shots all day.
Su!c!de Surv!vor couldn’t agree more!!!
In winter months in cooler parts of the country heavy clothing can be an issue for 9mm.
It is physically the same size in your hand as the .9mm version?
I know it only holds 10 rounds but that is not what I mean.
Yep.... otherwise exactly the same dimensions! Thanks for watching!
@@SlavGuns ok
Do they even make the 40's anymore. None available.
Yea they should! Tougher to find for sure because most dealers don’t want it.
Very organized video !!!👌🏾
I just recently purchassed a Glock G22. This was my 1st foray into the 40 S&W cartridge, I was apprehensive but for a Gen 4 G22 that looked almost brand new @ $250.00 I couldnt pass it up. I fell in love with the caliber and now I'm looking for a carry size pistol in 40 S&W. I dont think this is made anymore, I own the G3C so I would love to see that pistol in the 40 cartridge! I would definitely buy one. Thanks for the vid!
M&P 2.0
I love my glock 22. I also have, fns, s&w, and sig in 40 calibers. I'm a huge 40 cal fan. So your not alone brother.
What’s the difference between a g2c .40 and a g2s.40
I’m probably going to get this for my wife she likes how 40 sw and I have like 40 rounds left. I’ll get this and g3. I seen the g3 for about 230 but I’m going to trade in my bodyguard the trigger pull on a 380 is about 9 pounds which is ridiculous
Has she shot 40 s&w in a compact? G3 is quite nice, I just got that and the G3C for testing... will have videos soon.
9lb is right where a pocket DAO pistol should be....Its not a target gun.
They also have different springs and they're not interchangeable which sucks
It’s nice you didn’t edit out the big flinch. Nice video.
My edc is a glock 36 45acp everyone has there own preference its about what you are comfortable with some people can hit their targets with a 9mm better or 40 and 45 i dont even argue about which cal has more power and energy at the end of day train yourself to hit that target when the day comes!
Found dis for 220 and the review just made me wanna purchase it now 💯 love 40s first official gun I bought was a m&p 40 cal 2.0 shield wit dah beam for 300 🥳 idk why ppl love 9s more and dem 40s will stop you in yah tracks lol good video doe bro was helpful appreciate it
Thanks for watching and your comment. Glad you found the video helpful.
40 cal is good for hitting someone and bring a lot of stopping power but 9mm penetration is better than 40cal and 45 acp
All depends on the bullet.
Much better to use Hollowpoint on 40 cal
I just had a pawn shop sell me a brand new what I thought was 9 mm. Turns out I got this gun, he gave me 9 mm ammo to go with it and I was wondering why it wasn't shooting right.
I felt like the G2C. 40 S&W had a little heavier trigger pull than the 9mm variant. I could be wrong but it did seem that way when i shot both of them. Good little EDC pistols nonetheless.
I’d rather have a 40 over a week ass 9 any day....
Pretty sure being hit with either wouldn't tickle
It’s still dangerous
In comparison they are not far from each other in terms of energy & ballistics clearly the 40 is more powerful but if you want some real juice go with a 10mm
WE ARE FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO BUY EXTRA MAGAZINES FOR THE PT 140 2C CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT OTHER PISTOL MAGS ARE THERE THAT WILL FIT THIS PISTOL. I HEAR SIG FITS THEM IS THIS TRUE .
Thinking about getting one for a truck gun found a brand new one for 239
Good price, I got the g3c 40 for 299 just last month.
I wish Taurus would make the G3 in .40
They will, be patient
That would be nice!!!
does anybody know what other gun mags that’s .40 cal that fit in the taurus. I have one and I need more ammo but want to see what else is out there
Excelent gun on .40. Great back up for my taurus 627 357 mag.
For sure. If you can CCW a G2C, this is a GREAT option. Thanks for watching.
I have a PT740 and G2C .40cal. I also own a TX22. Im not a fan of 9mm but given a choice I would buy a GX4. But as long as I can buy a .40cal option I will buy the new G3C (yes,they come in .40 now!) or a TH40.
First shots with a .40s&w Taurus G2C ruclips.net/video/d1d1Cx23_Nc/видео.html 💥
I don't believe it would be fun to shoot. I have a glock 22 and prefer to use a 9mm barrel because I shoot more accurately. So 15 vs 17 rounds helped me choose which to carry.
I'm just being honest really if you need more than 10 shots your in too big of a problem for yourself with 1 pistol
Thanks for this video
Most welcome
just got my 9 mm seems i will be ordering another lol
Slav great video!!! always like the 40 , 10mm is on the list just dont have any .
What is length of pull in a pistol. Length of pull is the measurement from the buttpad to the trigger in a long gun . At least that's the way I understand it.
Slaw can actually hit it ! Good job !
I own 2 of these in.40 and one in 9mm great guns for the money .. sub 300$ out the door ..
What clip can fit in a g2s 40 s&w somebody please tell me mine hold 6 shots I want 10 or 15
Damn im late i had no idea they had this in the 40 cal I definitely gotta go get this monday
Awesome review after watching your video, l think l will get both the G2c in 9mm and 40S&W 👍
