Great review! I also had issues with the magazines failing to feed (both of the magazines out of the box). Did you contact Taurus to have them provide you with new magazines? Or how did you go about solving that issue? Thanks!

It's important to consider that the Taurus G2C is a mass produced "INEXPENSIVE" handgun. It is NOT a cheap handgun. It is completely worthy of a $300.00 price tag. That being said (written) there are going to be some specimens that have a glitch or a few. Though I doubt the or a few. So, I recommend this pistol to evreyone I can. And a friend of mine got one that had an issue with Sig 9mm cartridges not seating every so often with that round only. I looked it over and it looked like the slide near the ejection port (front underside area) had a tiny burr where it was machined. Twenty-minutes of a fine grained filing and Flitz-ing here and there and his gun felt as smooth as oil on glass. AND, it shoots perfectly. Mic drop!!!
I have had this gun for over a year. I EDC this gun and have put over 1000 rounds thru it with no issues. You are right, the only reason this gun does not have a $300 - $400 + price tag is the Taurus name.
I have one of these in 9mm and when I first got it double fed and jammed no matter what. I replaced the recoil spring with a stainless one and polished the feed ramp to a mirror finish and it has worked perfectly ever since.

I agree with you regarding the grip/trigger/length. I have medium to large hands and my trigger finger tends to stick out too far of the trigger and therefore I end up pulling the gun and shooting low and left. With my shield 2.0, which is a smaller gun, I shoot right on the money.

Congrats on a great video! Unfortunately I bought a G2C three weeks ago and my experience was totally different. Mine was shooting 8 inches lower of point of aim at 10 yards, had a series of lite primer strikes and the re strike did not work. Also had a dead trigger in several occasions. I send it back to Taurus but they said it was going to take up to 12 weeks before I get it back.

I own a PT111 Millennium Pro (1st Gen) and have not had any issues with it in the limited time I've tested it at the range. I just recently found out about the class action lawsuit, so I called Taurus and they informed that I can exchange the one I have now with a G2C. I just have to pay for the transfer fee and shipping. If i was keeping this for myself, I'd probably just keep the old model. However, I'm planning on giving this to my brother (who is not a gun guy) to keep at his shop for self defense in case anything should arise. I want to make sure I'm giving him the safest and the most reliable option between these two. What would you recommend? Thx
If your gun is reliable... that is the clear answer. =) The new G2C is nice for sure... but as we know there are some bad examples that make it out of any factory.
The shield is the gun I own slide release is super hard and so is loading the mag after looking into the Taurus me and my fiancé are both buying one I daily carry the shield besides being a difficult release and reload it’s an awesome gun I’ve never had a misfire and I’ve ran thousands of rounds through it the big thing is with the smaller mag you don’t have a place to rest your pinky and it feels super weird so I always carry the bigger mag with one in the chamber safety on in a kydex holster that covers the safety switch and trigger
Well, it looks like you got a good one , but mine is a dangerous piece of junk. Purchased one because i heard good things, took it home, a fast cleaning and to the range. Loaded, chambered a round, pulled trigger, nothing. released trigger pulled again, nothing, not even a click. Unloaded, cleared, reloaded, pull trigger nothing but as i release the trigger it fires. Again, unloaded, cleared, changed ammo, reloaded. Finally fires. I put about 5 rounds downrange and again pull the trigger and nothing. release all the way to let it reset, pull the trigger and a delay after the trigger pull before gun fires. 2 clips through and about 10 no fires where it seems like the firing pin is not engaging. I unload it, i had enough because at this point it is a dangerous weapon in my mind to use. Not firing when the trigger is pulled and firing sometimes after it is released. I start to pack it up and the range officer comes by and asks done already? I tell him what is happening and he asks if he can give it a try to see if there is a problem or i am doing something wrong. He loads it up, pulls the trigger and nothing, pulls in 2-3 times and nothing happens, no tension on trigger, no click, nothing. He removes mag, clears it and retries. It fires this time around but still delay between trigger pull and firing on a number of shots and than nothing again. He removes mag, clears it, puts it down on the table and says " there is something wrong with this, firing pin seems to not engage properly, this is not a safe firearm to use. You need to send this back today" Called taurus and they said sure send it back. By the way it's a 12 week turn around time so the brand new gun i just bought and put very few rounds through it because it is clearly defective, will now take 3+ months to be repaired and returned!!!! What is the purpose of even buying a Taurus if this is what you get! I always wanted to get a gun that i cannot use for 3+ months because its bad out of the box and now i have to wait for a repair. Some people have great experiences with this Taurus and i'm happy for them. But for me it is possibly the worst firearm i have ever bought and deeply regret not spending the extra $100 and getting a S&W, Ruger or anything else.
Thanks! Second person asking about the 22 TCM.... will see if I can get a demo. I have shot it in the past though when they launched it at Shot Show... 22 TCM rifle? Interesting....

@@seekhim3463 I really like my G2C too. But they are all not without quirks. I've discovered many of these pistols have a "short chamber". And mine is one of those. Some bullets hit the rifling when they are chambered. Bullets that normally chamber just fine in the majority of 9mm's. I've currently found 3 rounds that do that in mine- all 3 Federal brands that work in all my other guns. But I've currently found 10 other brands that work in my G2c. Irritating- but not a deal breaker. I just have to"plunk test" rounds I want to use before trusting the gun to function properly. It has become my favorite handguns and my daily carry.
Great review. It IS a bargain at that price. For me, the G43X or G48 fits the bill. At 1.2" wide, the G2C is just too big for me to CCW the way I prefer. Other than that, I'd have no problem buying one - if only for a range toy or even a carjacking preventative. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and your comment. I agree... I really love the 43x and it does feel better... but it is twice the price. For a car/truck gun or better than nothing, it is pretty dang good.
I wish you tube channels would stop saying this is a sub $200 pistol. It’s $250-280. Because even if you find it for $200 online. Your gonna pay shipping and an ffl for a transfer. My ffl charged me $35. That’s the going transfer rAte in my area. It’s $249 in local store + tax. So the online savings is an illusion. That’s why I don’t even bother with it anymore. And just buy local. It’s actually more of a hassle to save like $20 bucks. Not worth it. Ill only buy something I can’t get local online in the future.
Joe S. If you can't find one for $150 to $200 base price taxes included you are not looking hard enough and there are dealers that ship free. Add manufacturer rebates that also come along ever so often. Transfer fee is extra but that cost is not in the base price the pistol sells at from the dealer. Most local dealers have high overhead and charge extra above and beyond base price.
@@gAllenDale I have not picked it up from my FFL yet, but the G3C did address a few of the small complaints I had. I am really looking forward to it and will do a side by side comparison of the G2C and G3C. I also have a G3 waiting for me there too.

Would love to see you evaluate the RIA 22 TCM/9mmm and/or the 22TCM BA rifle.
Thanks! Second person asking about the 22 TCM.... will see if I can get a demo. I have shot it in the past though when they launched it at Shot Show... 22 TCM rifle? Interesting....
@@SlavGuns Yes 2 or 3 versions available wooden furniture with 22.75 in barrel and 5 round magazine also compatible with 17 round pistol magazine. The other two are polymer versions with varying features.
@@kookooachoo2538 Also from RIA or who makes it? Link? Thanks.
@@SlavGuns Yes also from RIA
@@kookooachoo2538 Very cool. Will check it out.
I am really considering buying one of these. It's kinda like a fat girl, fun to play with but you dont want your buddies to see you with it.
Fucking hilarious comment 🤣
I dig on fat girls... I love my glocks sigs and s&w ... But i seriously carry my g2c iwb daily... So yeh.. No body sees it unless they are a threat, then trust me... They don't wanna see it
Can you put gun in safety and rack the slide
No sir.
I love mines I've had glock and colt trust me this g2c is a bad whammy jammer I bought mines 3 weeks ago had to go to another city for it due to them being sold out I haven't fired it yet I'll be this weekend I'm ordering the 33rnd promag and the 20rnd why buy a glock and you can get a g2c TRUST ME GLOCKS FAIL JUST LIKE ALL PISTOLS SO STOP WITH THIS GLOCK CRAP ALL GUNS FAIL
Only issue is I hate when my slide gets scratched up im painting it black now with brake caliper paint it can hold up to heat up to 5000degress so i know it want fade I'm adding like 8 coats
@@SIX4TALL If my slide ever gets too bad then I will just strip it down and gun blue it. But not real concerned being a $200 beater pistol.
I bought both the g2c and the g3c.. why not
Nice review
Thanks for watching and your comment!
Awesome
Taurus g2c good value for ccw or home defence but I paid 250 6weeks ago and upgrade recoil spring and striker guide from lakeline for almost 55 bucks paid but still triger is little unstable So basspro sale beretta apx for $330 pay $25 more and get better quality pistol
The trigger is unstable? Don't understand what you mean by that. Thanks for watching!
@@SlavGuns I mean the triger slightly moving left to right when touch it
@@hyungkim2126 Hyung that gun pricing is at 375 in most places now.
I keep hearing some BS that after about 7000 rounds, the gun explodes in your hand. I find this hard to believe. Have you heard anything about this?
That is exactly what it is Randy Bullsh*t 🇺🇸
Taurus G2C is flawless... and I’m a lover of HK guns!!!
Why he look like he in the mobb
under $200? uh where the heck did u find it for that. i just got one for 280. the price cannot have raised that much. under 200?!?!?
COVID. These were routinely around $180 to $200 when I made the video.
thats insane! still worth every penny. i would have paid 500.
Lml try ohio its 375 plus tax plus bullets 428 in all
@@mycahsmith1828 CRAZY... but they will come down in price. $375 is over MSRP iirc.
Yep that gun was on the raise before COVID.they couldn’t be that good and stay 180 dollars.
If they changed their name to Rolex their would be a line of snobs plopping down a grand or more to get a Rolex 9 .
Glad it doesn't have front serrations, I hate them on guns.
Really? I felt the same way... and then I started using them. lol. I turned to the dark side. Thanks for watching.
Smoother draws with the lack of front serrations?
@@herbmanning8348 Absolutely no effect on draws!
Lol, trigger dongle that sticks out
It’s my EDC
Very cool! I just had Taurus send me the G3C and will be using that as my EDC.
Slav Guns I looked at it today. It’ll more than likely be my next purchase in the next week or two. Want to see the changes from the G2C
@@gAllenDale I have not picked it up from my FFL yet, but the G3C did address a few of the small complaints I had. I am really looking forward to it and will do a side by side comparison of the G2C and G3C. I also have a G3 waiting for me there too.
Awesome
