I lost my G2c winter before last and we searched for 3 hours and could not find it, went deer hunting last winter and hunted from the same spot as I started to get up to go get the deer I shot I was walking and looked down and I found it, picked it up emptied the mag. wouldn’t trust the ammunition after laying out like that, took it home cleaned it, took it out fired 500 rounds that day ( NO PROBLEMS!!!) I THINK I AM GOING TO KEEP MY Taurus thank you very much
@@esfitnesspro2455 The range I go to a guy brings in a bulk box of 500 rounds Once a month. He shoots all but a couple mags full. Never says much. Then leaves?
I don't understand how this really makes Taurus better, frankly. I mean, I'd understand if you lost both a Glock and your Taurus and the Glock didn't survive but the Taurus did. However, obviously that isn't the case for you. Cool story either way.
@@EvilWiffles I get what you're say and a good point! I think the point is that Taurus has a bad reputation. So, this just shows it survived? My interpertation? Best to ya',,,,!
Ever since Taurus shifted their manufacturing (2.5 yrs) from Brazil to the US(GA) they've been hitting it out of the park with quality & dependability. And the price you can't beat. Lifetime warranty.
The turn point about Tauros was happen when they have changed the president of company. Salesio Nuhs, made a lot of deployment on the structure of Tauros group, and the improve of quality made part of it, no matters if it had or not factory on USA to reach regarding the current level regarding products.
Taurus makes the G2c in Brazil. The importer is located in Bainbridge, GA. Mine has the GA importer marking stamped on one side and "Taurus Armas Made in Brazil" on the other.
I Make no mistake, I'm a die hard Glock fan. I own several, and have owned many different models and none have ever failed or disappointed me. I bought a Taurus G2C a couple years ago after my gunshop dealer put it in my hand and I loved the "fit" 8n my hand, and to be honest, the price seemed ridiculously low. I bought it as a "truck gun," sort of a "anything is better than nothing" gun, and if it got stolen I wouldn't cry too much like I would one of my Glocks. But then I started carrying it, and shooting it, still expecting it to fail. It didn't. And it hasn't. And it has replaced my G19 as my EDC. I bought two more for less than the price of one Glock. This is an awesome, very 'shootable gun being sold at half the cost of similar quality compact 9mm pistols. Kudos to Taurus for upping their game!
Same here. I've owned and carried several different Glocks over the years and I've had great luck with them. But a couple of weeks ago, I traded my new, unfired GLOCK gen 4 19 for a new, unfired G2C. I got 5 12 round mags with the Taurus. And I also got an old, made in '65, Astra 22 revolver, in decent shape in the deal. I've had Taurus guns over the years and have had good luck with them too. But I had some horrible experiences with Taurus customer service. I tell you what, this G2c just fits my hand ! And, it holds 13 rounds. I carry it in a pocket holster and it just disappears. It's just a great carry gun ! I have an early gen 3 - 23 Glock I've carried for years when I want to hip carry. So that 19 just set in a drawer. I never used it. I really like this G2c! I carry it more than I do my 23 since I got it. Sometimes I back it up with my S&W 642 38. I'll have to say, Taurus really got it right this time! It's just the perfect carry gun for me ! It's sitting on the table right beside me as I'm writing this. Oh, and I did buy a Glock 43, single stack 9mm last summer. It felt good in my hand- but I did quickly feel kinda silly spending almost $500 on a 7 shot pistol. And then, after only 3 weeks of carry, it rusted on me. And I mean rusted ! Internally and on the outside. And I had been wiping it down. Man, I was pissed ! It did clean up pretty good, and I quickly sold it ! After that, I did read that the model 43 was having rust issues. So yeah, I traded my 19 Glock for a Taurus ! And I'm fine with it. Lol.
I have a Taurus 92 variant that I lost in the river back collapsed while on the tractor. I found it over a year later during a dry summer sticking out the bank. I knocked the mud and muck off it, cleared the barrel and it fired with fresh ammo. Still have it today almost 12 years later! I'll never question a taurus again!
Good post Ms Trapp! I feel the same way about my G2C and bought 2 of them! I also like having accessories reasonably priced on the Taurus web site for the G2C! I bought 15 round mags and night sights from them.
Never had a Glock but I do have a G2c . I'll take that extra inch on the grip for 2 more rounds ,its still very concealable and comfortable to me. I'm a Taurus guy.
@@patlynch3464 I have a G3 and a G3c. The G3 comes with a 17 round mag, and a 15 round mag. They sell a spacer to put the 15 round mag in the G3c. Technically you don't need the spacer, but it's more ergonomic. If I carry my G3c (which is rare, I usually carry the G3), I typically carry the 15 round mag. The 12 round mags are great when you have to stick it in a smallish coat pocket.
I feel like taurus put the safeties in because of the price point and the amount of first time gun owners that would be drawn in by its affordability. Safeties are a good option for first time carriers to feel a bit more comfortable starting out.
My buddy just bought a new G2C today, his first gun purchase ever. He really likes that it has a manual safety on top of the trigger safety. And because he is new to firearms I'd just rather have that extra layer of safety for him. As long as you can learn how to run a gun with a safety it's not really an issue. He'll learn the mechanics of it over shooting many rounds
Glock is kinda over Priced lol but i own a g2s and i rather have a glock like I would trust my life with my tarus but I rather have a glock more after market parts basicly a endless variety of after market parts with the g2s or g2c you don't really have that and the mental clarity of owning a *better gun* that will almost never fail is a good feeling personally I think tarus can stand face yo face with tarus or g2s g2c idk about the other stuff.....but glock sights way way better compared to g2s g2c sights personally tho g2c g2s trigger is better but thats me
Former USMC marksmanship instructor here. I taught officers to shoot with the godawful Beretta 92 and it's too-fat handle. I own a G2C and it fits my hand(s) really well, shoots really well, and is easy to carry and take care of. Zero issues in 2 years and 1000+ through it. Never met a Glock I didn't like. Bad handle angle, funky weight/balance. Someone called it a 2x4 once and that's a good descriptor. To each their own, though. Shoot what you can hit stuff with.
The G2 has 3 great advantages over the Glock that really puts it on top. 1) it can be found at a much lower price that the Glock can't touch. 2) It has 2nd strike capability that allows more realistic dry fire practice in that you DO NOT have to cycle the slide after each dry fire trigger pull. 3) The G2 has has a rail for mounting accessories, the Glock 26 does not. You can attach a Mantis X 10 System to that rail so that it can enhance both your dry fire and live fry practice. All 3 of these items will work synergistically together as to make you a better shooter faster and cheaper. When you add all this to the fact that the Taurus PT 111 G2 has been around for a long time and the G2C and G2S are follow-on generations of this production line , and all 3 of these particular generations has garnered a very good reputation for reliability, really makes the G2C / G2S hard to beat. You can have a Glock 26 for 20 years and the Taurus for only 10 years, and you'll be a better shooter for it, -- given all that was mentioned above. And that's the name of the game. That's why the Glock 26 loses out to the G2 Taurus line IMHO.
I had a PT111G2 which I gave to my oldest son so he had a concealable 9mm. My EDC has been a G2C for the past couple of years. I also bought the full size G3. All very reliable and easy to shoot. My youngest son got me a Canik P9 Elite SC which I carry now. But if I'm open carrying I'll usually still carry the G2C or G3.
Gud points! I agree! But, the best damm reason to own/CARRY it, is that my wife bot one( I thot it wud fit her very well). Took it to range. WORKED GREAT! She wanted to RE-HOME it! I asked her why? She sez, just bcuz, "I don't like it!!" (After 50 yrs of marriage, when she sez "I don't like..., that is 💯% reason to grab onto it, NOW!!!) I did, and have no regrets...about the pistol.
I've had my Taurus G2c for 4 months and have put about 650 rounds through it without a single problem. In fact, the gun has actually improved as it took about 500 rounds to break it in. Great balance when loaded and the trigger pull is light for a striker fired semi-automatic. The trigger pull does improve as the gun breaks in. This firearm is my every day carry which I carry fully loaded (13) rounds and here's the best part. I got the Taurus G2c in black with 2 extra magazines for a total of 4, a red dot laser sight and some after market grips and I'm in under $400.00. Beat that!
With one in the chamber, 13 rounds total. I have two, both with armalasers contact activated lasers. Holsters for both and still a better deal than just one glock. Sometimes, one is none and two is one. Also, the fastest reload is another already loaded weapon. 😉
I bought 2 G2's back in 2016. I still have one and it has yet to have a malfunction. The other had a shit barrel right out of the box. I'm a CZ and Springfield guy for EDC but I do plan on grabbing a G3 very soon.
@@Phlopsy as any mechanical device "wears-in" it's component parts establish a "wear pattern" as such they fit better together and perform more smoothly.
The G2C and the G3 are the best things going for the first-time handgun buyer or the buyer on a strict budget. They’re good pistols and that’s coming from a guy who has spent a whole lot more. Back when I started shooting, you could only get a Jennings or Bryco in this price range. Nowadays, new shooters are spoiled for choice and that’s a damn nice thing!
I just picked up a g2c. I like it a lot, $320 after tax and 100 rounds of ammo. I could have gotten a S&W full sized 16 round pistol for $400 plus tax and ammo. Probably would've been $450 after everything, part of me wishes I just spent the extra hundred bucks. But I have no reason to think that other than my paranoia about the low price point and I always want something better after I spend my money.
I have the G2C and the G3 and love them both. The G3 trigger is leaps and bounds better than the G2C but both are very shootable. Keep an eye on Taurus, new management and much better quality control and customer service. Only time will truly tell but i have a feeling they are gonna be hard to beat in the future. Long Live The Republic! WWG1WGA
@@borisentwistle Q baby. These terrorists in the previous Obama administration are going to prison if they're lucky. I have a couple Glocks & a couple of the Taurus G2's & I prefer to carry my Taurus. Lakeline LLC guide rod spring and a crimson trace railmaster laser nice setup for EDC carry.
I have the same setup: G2 for normal concealed carry and TCP for when I need something that fits in my front pocket. Both of them do what they are supposed to do every time although the TCP is not really that fun to shot at the range.
What if the G2C was $500? That's a good question. I can afford a $500 carry pistol. I own several full sized pistols in the $600-800 dollar range. So price doesn't really factor for me. I can tell you my EDC is a Taurus G2. Why? #1 reliability(2000+ rounds....no failures) #2 shootability (comfortable with the gun and love the grip) #3 capacity(12+1...only other gun that comes close is the 365...which has had some serious failures) So, if the G2C were to cost $500. Then I would pay 500. Easy as that. Fortunately it costs 200. So I own 3. One for my EDC, one for my truck, and one for my bug out bag. Not convinced? Its only $200. Buy it...try it....its only $200. You will be pleasantly surprised.
I bought two G2C'S, one for the wifey and one for baby girl. I was so impressed, I'm buying 4 more! One for every vehicle and one for the boat! Hopefully block, I mean glock will learn how handguns should work and how much they cost!🙏🇺🇸
I picked up a glock 19 a few months ago and I went out to the river to practice with it . I gotta say, the Taurus is More accurate than the Glock. I went through 200 rounds, 100 in each of them. And the Taurus has got the 19 by A significant margin. I am going back out this weekend and I'm planning to make a video to post. Just to prove a point.
Just bought my first guns and it's a Taurus. I think for beginners like myself, the added safety features are excellent. Thanks for the very detailed video sir.
@@crypto_creep8222 ahh, but you can use Sig 226 mags, or Canik mags, if you don't care about last round lock-back. Mec-Gar and ProMag are making extended mags for it, now.
Hop on Cheaper Than Dirt some stuff is a lot sometimes you can find good deals tho I order a bunch of mags for my Smith And Wesson and 3 32 round mags for my Taurus each 32 round mag cost about $20 bucks
I appreciate your honest review. As a recent first time firearm owner, the G2C was more appealing due to price and my wife liked all the safety features. I feel like if you are dipping your toes in the firearm community the G2C is a great option. I love my G2C, and feel like I got great value for what I paid. Will I be upgrading, yes. Also, Taurus just announced lifetime warranty for the G2C, something worth mentioning since people would bash the one year warranty.
I bought a G2pt111 to daily carry and found it to be to bulky when it gets warmer. I still carry it sometimes but I purchased a KelTec P3at that I carry every day now. It's in the same price range,I paid 260$ for my KT and 245 for the G2. Both good, inexpensive firearms for someone just getting in to firearms. That little KT is VERY concealable and a very good option to daily carry. Good luck and enjoy
When my wife bought her Taurus PT111 millininal G2 9MM in 2015 it came with a lifetime warranty the one year warranty only lasted a year before Taurus went back to their lifetime warranty also her Taurus cost $360 in 2015 today not as much but the same remarkable quality and lifetime warranty....
I bought a G2c a year ago, I have no complaints, if I want better stuff I'll use the 3xtra money to upgrade the Taurus. Thank you for the video as I've taken alot of put downs for buying the taurus G2c over a Glock.
I have had my issues with Taurus. They offered me a G2C as a replacement for a gun they could not fix. I was leery ! At the time I had three hand gun, no 9 mm. so I took it. I loved the G2C from the start. The adjustable sights, double stack 12 round mag. BUT ..... this gun shoots really well ...really CONSISTENTLY !
The part I liked most about your story was...where Taurus offers u a new gun to replace a gun they couldn't fix! That's a great option to have!...rather than be told you're SOL! S#!t outta luck!
I own several handguns to include Glock, S&W, and my latest addition the G2C. The G2C is now my everyday carry. It’s extremely comfortable, affordable, and really reliable. I put 500 rounds right out of the box through this gun. Not a single misfire, no jamming, love the sights. All around one of my favorite handguns to take to the range. I disagree about the safety that Taurus put into this gun as far as not trusting the consumer. I have a 7 year old son who loves shooting but having extra safety doesn’t hurt to help prevent accidents. I do agree the biggest safety is the owner. I carry one in the chamber at all times. Having a manual safety was a selling point beyond the price. My biggest complaint with this gun (G2C) is the trigger is spongy and sloppy. It reminds my of a S&W SD9VE with the pull. All around though it’s a fantastic firearm and I’m actually looking forward to see if Taurus my deliver something as positive as this in the future. Great review.
Steve Lucas check out Just Tinkering’s triggers...$30, really nice upgrades. Lakeline has some nice sights and a stainless steel recoil spring assembly also....though to be fair, I really don’t think they need it, lol. I just get caught up in the whole “gonna pimp my ride” scene(-:
I'm all about the trigger and I shot Expert pistol in Navy & on Army range. I have g26 gen 5 glow sights. * Have2Have mag extension for accuracy, in my case.
Steve Lucas that’s crazy I have 2 g2cs and would never grab them before my Glocks . sometimes they need a little help just chambering a round and I’ve had the slide get stuck a couple times right before it racked fully .
You remembered that you could use the larger Glock magazines in the G26, but you did NOT mention that the Taurus g2C takes magazines meant for the Sig P226! That is important so you can compare them "apples to apples."
And there are 30+ round mags available for the Taurus from at least two manufacturers, now. Glock has 30+ years of folks making parts compared to less than 10 for the G2 series of pistols. The Millennium PRO turned out to be a bust with the internal safety/drop issues. The G2 pushed past that, but wasn't there all the way, then the G2C evolves from that, and is rapidly becoming a huge hit for Taurus.
Also cheaper then dirt has 2 and 3 round extenders for the stock mag and they also have an extender option for a 30 round mag on the G2C. Oh by the way the 30 round mag extension for the G2C is around $35.
G 2 c all the way. I've shot enough rounds through mine to melt the barrel off of most, and never ANY TROUBLE. Unless you just want bragging rights on the fact you can afford an expensive handgun, trust me, this gun rocks. Plus, after doing a massive study, it was finally determined that the squirrels that were shot with the g2c were found to be just as dead as those that were shot by the glock
True lost count after2k only failure was with a 20 round it was among 3 different in a real p226 sig 20 round it was 40 but that was my fault I was outtaammo but I wanna try again
I totally agree. Unless someone cares more about bragging rights that they are able to afford the more expensive guns. But, pound for pound, the g2c is hard to beat. It is what it is, a great gun
I bought a Taurus G2C 9mm a few months ago put idk 400 rounds thru it never had any malfunction. I was so happy with it I bought a 2nd Taurus g2c 9mm and I took it to the range and the person next to me had the glock 26 and out of the box first time break in on my gun it out performed the glock 26 bad!! 500 600? Get the Taurus g2c people!! Priced right more features and reliable!!
Bought a Taurus g2c 9mm and out of the box it was great. 2 months later I bought another one for the price and why not for the price? 500 for the glock 26 no restrike capability and not as many features like the Taurus for 230 bucks? Taurus G2Cs all the way!!!
Remember guys Taurus is made now in usa a totally new quality control before was made in Brazil no quality control that's a big difference That's why taurus have so many issues before
I went in to my local gun store and was fully prepared to buy a glock 26 But I saw the Taurus G2C there as well and held and thoroughly checked out both and the G2C just seemed like a better fit and suited for me as a smaller person. I liked the GLOCK but it just felt too small in my hands for me to be comfortable with it! So ended up buying the Taurus G2C and saved a bunch of money to boot lol
I recently got a G2C and I agree with most of what you said except for the reliability issue. Taurus gets unfairly tarred for it's sins of the past. Today it makes high quality revolvers and semi-autos but they don't overcharge you. They do stand by their products now. I also have a PT 1911 that has been flawless. My wife and I are considered wealthy but we didn't get here by buying a 500$ tool when a 200$ one is just as good or better.
I expected a "Glock fan boy" type review (we've all seen many of them), and was pleasantly surprised to see an objective reviewer with honest points made about both guns. I made the decision to buy the Taurus over a year ago, and I've never regretted it. Good shooter, reasonably accurate, and no failures so far. Thanks for a great video!
@@esolo114 BS! He's just HONEST; The G2C-G3 are better guns. When you buy a Glock, the name is all you are paying for. The only "pro" to the Glock is 33 round mags. The only ones that actually NEED those are in the drug cartels...They typically come with the bootleg auto sears...The people that buy Glocks are the same ones in the over priced jacked up Silverado's, I always pass in my 98 Toyota while they are broke down on the side of the road..."Cletus" from "Idiocracy" comes to mind...
@@esolo114 i have two broken glocks that will argue that with you.... no frills for 600 bucks ....its a name , the g2c and g3c are better guns out of the box for half the money and anyone who argues that its just dripping fan boi.....
@@Americca_Is_Doomed Dont pretend like you've owned Glocks. I'm not a Glock fanboy, you're just a broke hipster who is really emotional about your sub par budget gun. Itll probably work fine for the two boxes of ammo you put through it a year.
I carry the G2C, I had Glocks in the past and they do work well but I've believe that Taurus along with S&W and any other striker fired guns have basically seen what works for Glock and has basically copied it. And if you leave the safety off on the G2C it operates just like a Glock except for the 2nd strike capability. The G2C beats Glock hands down with the 3 dot adjustable sights. And as far as concealment I prefer the G2C over any double stack Glock, the thinness of the Taurus is more manageable even though the Glock's handle is shorter. Glock is an excellent proven design but I think the G2C edges the G26 out. If my gun is confiscated for any reason and I not getting it back it's better to have $208 invested then $550.
Luke Tilley do you carry it with one in the hole? In the review be said that Taurus recommends you to carry without one? Is it safe to have one on the hole?
You can lifetime guarantee a piece of shit. All you want it's still a piece of shit. Not saying the Taurus is garbage just saying that method of thinking is not smart
Awesome and honest review. I had a Glock 19 and now I have a G2S. Vary different but I just really appreciate the G2S more. Glocks look too basic. And even though they're reliable, they look and feel extremely cheap for the price.
When I bought my first G series Taurus I was looking for a glock. Wanted a 19, 17 or 45. Everyone was sold out of those models. I happened to see a G3 and checked it out... Basically a Glock 17 at 1/3 of the price. Plus being a 1911 guy I liked the thumb safety. I bought a G2c shortly after for 220 bucks and got the G3c when it first came out. I've put well over a 1000 rounds down range each and not one single malfunction. Took my ccw class with my G2c out performed all the Glocks in my class.
In what way did the G2 outperform all Glocks? Genuinely curious. I've heard a lot of good things about the G2, but assumed it was nearly as good as some Glock models, but not quite, because it sells for half the price and there have to be compromises somewhere.
I have a G2C (got as a Christmas gift last year) a year later and 2800 rounds later I haven't had a single problem with the gun. Three failure to fires and all of them were primer issues. It isn't sexy but I would trust my life with it no problem at all.
Bad guy- You shot me!!! Good Guy- Relax, its just a 200$ Taurus G2C Bad guy- Oh thank god! I thought you shot me with a 600$ glock 26.Sorry I broke in to your house, I'll leave now.
I own a Taurus g2. I also own 2 Springfields, 2 rugers, a marlin, an AR, a mossberg and soon another AR build. Who cares what you shoot them with? They wont....
I had a multiple challenging times finding a store in my region of the state that weren't sold out of their Taurus G2c guns. October 2020 I was able to find one for 250 dollars in a large city when I visited my family 150 miles away. I like the Taurus extra safety features as I am new to concealed carry. I appreciate the finger indentations too. My state is constitutional carry, but I wanted a concealed carry because I have to travel through a gun-strict state when I visit my son and grand son. I am a woman in my mid 60's, the Taurus fits my hand very comfortably. My medium size purse is not my favorite choice to conceal but it clicks into a metal holster (which has a waste-band clip) that covers the trigger areas. I bought a $50 stiff gun belt with velcro closure but it is not comfortable and too thick for the grasp of the holster clip. My regular womens' jean waste-bands are not stiff enough. I also have a holster that is more comfortable to wear as it has an iliac-crest stabilizer incorporated. When I am temporarily in or about to be in an uncomfortable setting I unclick the gun from the holster because I can just unzip my purse and the guns position is in line with my hand, otherwise the holster comes out with the gun. I have adjusted the grip screw on the holster to it's limit to hold the gun in when it has a full magazine (none in the chamber) for shaking it while upside down. The gun remains covered in that medium size purse; it remains in the short holster without being clicked in. That way the gun remains with the muzzle in a downward position when it is in the purse and holster. Thanks for addressing women's opinions about the guns and while shooting in your video reviews.
On to my second G2C and the new one, like the first one, was perfect right out of the box. After 500-rounds (right out of the box) perfect. I own a Glock 17, 19 and 42, SIG 320 two 1911's yada, yada, yada. BUT . . . the G2C is perfect. Too. My first one has 2000-plus rounds through it. Still perfect. No bath either. Dirty perfect is REAL perfect! The trigger thing is so easy to adjust to AND once you realize that it is blazing fast to get follow up after follow up shots (ACCURATELY ON TARGET) you simply stop thinking that you have a gun in your hands that got there with only a couple of hundred dollars. I have to agree though with the video author. The ONLY worry about the G2C is long-term build quality. There can be no denying that the G2C is a fantastic pistol once you put everything through it. It eats every kind of cartridge I could find. And I used to have a lot if bullets. Aluminum, steel, 124's 123's (some Turkish stuff) 115's self-defense rounds, you name it! Nothing fazes this gun. It just keeps working and working and working and working. And I just keep smiling and smiling and smiling and smiling. Glock ahanged the gun world with a incredible design. I mean c'mon now, everyone makes a Glock now. They just have different manufacturers names on 'em. The G2C revolution, is that it can be done at a price that is almost as if you are having a dream that a 200ish dollar pistol can be so fantastic. As fantastic as your Glock 19. Well enough said. Buy a G2C (if that is what you can call a 200-dollar purchase of a fine pistol). And be amazed. Smiling is beneficial for good health. By the way. TR Ball
Awesome post and I’m a proud owner of G2C! It’s flawless. It can use Sig P226 mags too along with G3 mags. And if folks wanna ride Glock dick then throw Glock sights on G2C. I’m gonna role with my G2C so let the haters hate.
After both comparisons, I still prefer my Taurus g2c. I think the fit-and-finish is better, and with the 12-round magazine it fits my hand better. That extra inch is easy to soak up for concealed carry. And any gun should last a lifetime if you take care of it properly. And cat just over $200 it is a much better priced pistol.
I have several Glocks... simple, dependable and rugged. But... I purchased a Taurus G3c “impulse buy”, and I’m really surprised and impressed. Just as dependable so far, and much better ergonomics. Like you said, the texture on the grip is just fantastic. I personally love the trigger. It reminds me of a rifle style trigger breaking all the way to the back, and the reset is amongst the best in my opinion. This is subjective and I know not everyone will agree. I’ve had a couple of Taurus semi-autos in the past and well, I poo-pooped on them. Stiff and and jammed often. Junk really. Taurus has made major improvements on their semi-auto pistols. This gun is a real winner. You could buy two of these guns and an extra $200 worth of ammo for the same price as its competitors. It’s a no brainer! Durability and longevity is the only unanswered question, time will tell.
The Fat Baby 26 lost this race to the G2C. Price. Width. Accuracy. Grip. Magazine capacity. I own two. No pinky overhang on the G2C grip. Taurus did the G2C correctly. Works beautifully. 1000 rounds with no issues. It will eat what you feed. 👍🏻 Taurus for this one!!
Agreed I love mine he was wrong tho the g2c has a polymer guide rod I lost counts on the rounds I've put through it never shot plus p tho and I dont torture my weapons but damn I do love it best bday present I've ever got
I love mine! I’ve had no real issues really. Some steel case ammo didn’t feed well. Front site came off at the range. Got new metal sights. 1500 rounds. Still rockin!

I was a first time gun buyer/owner in 2020. I got the G2C and love it. I was going to get a better one after I learned how to use it on the G2C, but I decided to keep it as my daily carry.
They are made in Florida. The mag might be made in Brazil and perhaps some of the parts. They are assembled in the U.S.A. By law all sub compacts by law are manufactured in the U.S.A.. BTW the Spectrum .380 is also made in Florida.
Or if you are like me and prefer to carry with the safety on it is a selling feature. One that quite literally will protect my ass if I holster and something gets in the way of the trigger dingus. If you can't train yourself well enough to flip the manual safety off you really have no purpose carrying a firearm. That whole thing of forgetting to flip the safety off is bullshit glock fanboys came up with to justify an unsafe firearm.
@@jporter504 ya I am sure lawyers cared about a manual safety. LEO is really not the best way to judge a firearm platform with their hit rate in shootings. It isn't hard to flip a thumb safety off not sure why it is a big deal.
@@tray22 It is a big deal because that is why striker fired or DAO guns replaced other types of semi auto pistols. Putting a manual safety on a striker fired or a DAO pistol is like putting a manual safety on a revolver. Totally silly. As to why that matters, ask anyone who has been in a high stress shooting incident, they will tell, you that adding a safety to a striker fired gun is adding yet another step to bring the weapon into ready to fire position, an unnecessary step where things can go wrong.
@@jporter504 I agree on a DAO but some of the striker triggers are like having the hammer back on a revolver. Which is why there is a term "glock leg". Plenty of the LEO folks you mentioned have had the gun go off while holstering.
The G2 would be a perfect 10 if it had the trigger of the G3 but still, you can't go wrong with the G2. Thanks Brazil for producing good and reasonably priced firearns.

I own 4 Taurus a 1911, a g2 and a g2c, and a spectrum. .380. I also own ruger and Springfield. And a totally great canick tp9sf. All of my Taurus guns are good and I carry the g2c and the 1911 regularly they are good guns
I buy pricey guns. But I chose the sig p320 over a Glock when being price comparable. And I chose a Taurus pt111 or G2C over Glock. I found the grip more comfortable and sights easier to pick up on with the p320. On the Taurus. I mean at $200, it was better in every way. Capacity, grip length, sights despite the lack of a shelf, overall looks, grip texture, and meaningful safeties for novice shooters yet, the safety is so flush to the gun and so stiff, you can keep it off safety without interference and still have the trigger safety. Or you can use the safety to be well... Extra cautious. Which in some cases, we need that extra measure of safety. Glock pricing is ridiculous. I think sig pricing is overdone as well when you factor in the sig p250 entry price was $299. The P320 should have been $419 without night sights. $499 with. The Glock, should be $399 with standard sights. $449 with night sights. $120 too expensive as a general polymer gun just based on a name. As far as reliability goes? Taurus lifetime warranty should make you more comfortable in owning the Taurus. So while longevity may be questionable on a small level? You're covered. Finally, value. Taurus presents your exact argument about buying ammo. $300 will buy you 1000 rounds of fm $160, 2 extra mags $50 and still have money for eye $10 and hearing protection $15 and even a day at the range fees. $65 $500 bought you a lot with the Taurus. Glock, you still gotta borrow $79 more from your homeboy. Lol. Taurus wins. Coming back in to say. $70 cerakote and $60 truglo sights will bring your Taurus up to $330. At this point you'd have a comparable finish and top tier sights. $330. Still $200 cheaper than your cheapest Glock.
One argument i see about Glocks is the mags the parts the holsters etc. Well if I'm saving $300 out the gate I can buy all of that and STILL have money left over for sights ammo etc
I think even if they were priced the same, you'd be hard pressed to choose the glock over the taurus. Looks like a great gun and plenty of great features.
I own both. I really don't understand people that care about the box a gun comes in but I'm not judging. Whatever racks your slide man. I keep my guns in holsters. 😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I totally agree! If cardboard saves me a few bucks, I'm good! As far as a "case" like you mine is is my holster! If you have multiple handguns and mags go to Harbor Freight get one of their cases, Wal-Mart buy a hunk of foam do the cut-outs, you're good to go! Best to ya',,,,!
I see you tried hard to find problems with the Taurus, but it's all personal preference. I got rid of all my glock 26 and chose the Taurus G2 Millenium instead. Haven't look back since.
I have a Glock 27 that was my edc.... went back to my local gunshop to look at the g2's since I wanted a 9mm.....ended up leaving with a pt1911 officers size 45 for just over 500.....the quality and value of taurus had me sold......I now carry the 1911 more than the Glock.....I still will go back for g2c or g3
My ex is army vet did tours etc...6 years ago he recommended me to get a taurus. he said it's accurate and reliable. That stuck with me ever since I never listened to anyone else's advice lol
I've had my G2C for a few months now and I carry it every single day with no issues! It fires every single time. Paid $230 for it and can easily say that any doubts that I had before based off the price were put to rest quickly! Perfect for someone new to shooting. 💯💪
I have both and prefer Glock myself. I honestly don’t carry my G26 very often these days, generally I carry a G19, but I’ve CC’d the G26 and the Taurus plenty over the years and in my opinion you really cannot go wrong with either one. To me the Glock just “feels” more reliable, but I have no evidence that it actually is. Great firearms, both.
I don’t have a Glock 26, but I do have a G42 and a G19. I have a Taurus G2. I also have about 15 other hand guns. The Taurus is the third most comfortable gun in my hand. Third only to my CZ P01 and Canik Stingray-C/Tristar P100 (I own both). I highly recommend the Taurus.
Goldenfightinglink I have three Caniks: Canik Stingray-C, Tristar P100 and Canik TP9SA. They are all great pistols. Never a failure. Accurate. Dependable. Inexpensive. I recommend them.
Good honest review and I agree on the longevity between the two but for a guy like me that doesn't shoot every week or month for that matter I believe the Taurus would stand up fine for the amount of use it would get from me. Thanks and I look forward to more honest open minded reviews.
@@richardreyes8263 nope cycles perfectly if you use quality mags (not promag) it even locks the slide back after last round. I recommend the 15rd P228/P229 flush mag as a spare mag as it is shorter than the P226 15rd mags.
Talking about Taurus longevity and being able to hand it down my Taurus 99 I bought in the 1980s still working find today and I don't know how many thousands around I put through it. It's a nail driver and the finishes just like the day I bought it
I just bought a Taurus G2C to replace my 1903 Colt .32 Pocket Hammerless that I was carrying for several reasons. My Colt .32 has been in my family for four generations (it was manufactured in 1911) and has Tremendous sentimental value so I want to keep it at home. I don't like the European style clip magazine holder for my primary carry pistol either. I wanted to upsize the caliber on my primary carry also and 9mm fit the bill. So, I researched several smaller size 9mm pistols - Glock 48, Sig Sauer P365 XL, Ruger LC9S, Kel-Tec PF9, along with Taurus' various smaller pistols (I have a Taurus .38 Special Revolver as well so I'm definitely a Taurus fan.). Glock and Sig Sauer are great but were too expensive, even used (even though I can afford one or even up to an STI Staccato I just can't see paying that much, you know?). The Ruger and Kel-Tec are great also but are too limited in their mag capacities. I just kept coming back to Taurus and the G2C pistol over and over. It seems to combine the best of compact size, mag capacity (got a 17 round G2C mag for it), affordability, and accuracy dependability. The Taurus G2C 9mm is a fantastic pistol for personal defense (open or concealed carry), home defense, and range shooting. Great video!
I like how the only issue with the Taurus is the extra safety features it has. You can't convince me to spend an $300+ for a gun with less rounds and more negatives.
They have corrected, and totally redeemed their company with fixing old problems. In short this gun out did the glock. Dont say much for glocks, but they are over priced, and over rated lol
@@grumpysquid I've put more than 2K rounds true my 2G - and after 1 time I've get few FTE with only some brand of ammo (i guess it was Tulammo) it was not happens any one more time. Trigger was initially a little bit hard to go true the break point, but now it perfectly OK. One more thing Glock 26 short handle is so uncomfortable for me - it was disqualifying issue - big difference with G2C.
Very first thing I did after buying my G2C was order a new trigger from Keep Tinkering. Check him out here on RUclips. Improved the trigger 100%. Outstanding. Now the best carry gun I have ever owned.
With an entry level gun from the Taurus like the G2C you want safeties for newbies that will be buying it less accidental fires helps the gun community ..Kudos to Taurus
lol as any basic pistol course would tell you, a manual safety is a mechanical device that can fail and should not be a substitute for lack of firearm safety. Are revolvers unsafe or do they cause more NEGLIGENT discharges? The correct term is negligent, because it's the operators fault. The fault of the gun is rare, follow the simple rules and manual safeties on a striker gun is incredible useless and possibly a determent if used in self defense.
True story. I am ex LE, current instructor and Glock armorer. I of course own several Glocks(G3's/G4's) and have carried G19's G3's as a duty weapon. In short I am convinced Glock is as good as advertised. That being said, I also own several Taurus G2's and use them in my basic handgun course as an intro to compacts. I have over 2k rounds in 2 of them....with ZERO failures......Zeeero! I have large hands and that extra reach on the Taurus is absolutely wonderful yet still slim enough for those with smaller hands. Hands down the G2 is THE BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK you can find.
I own both. I really love my Taurus G2c. Just something about that firearm. Plus...like the Glock..it has great magazine compatibility. It uses Sig Sauer P226 magazines like the 15 round, 18 round, and 20 rounders. I purchased a promag 32 round mag for it. Installed a Glock 33 round spring in it to improve reliability. I also have a A Taurus 24/7 magazine that works in this firearm. I 3D printed mag sleeves for all those. A lot of folks complain about the trigger. I actually like it. The reset is awesome. Sure it’s a little gritty, but I’m never going to go competition shooting with it. It is a self defense firearm. The other features that you pointed out are a plus over the Glock such as a picatinny rail. I really love the grip texture as I have sweaty hands at times. The sights I like as well, and hey are adjustable. I can go on and on about my love for it. I was pleasantly surprised how much I did like it after my purchase. It’s one I probably will never sell. As far as the G26, I do love the shorter grip for concealed carry. I wish Taurus would come out with a G2C with that grip length. I love that you can find parts anywhere for them. Like magazines. It is very smooth. I like the trigger and sights on it as well. Anywho...good video and review!!
I just bought a G3 T.O.R.O. to go with my PT111 millennium G2 and the G2C. Next is the G3C. The trigger on the G3s are a big improvement over the G2s. These guns are great and Taurus keeps getting better with their Glock clones. This whole G series is cheap enough to collect them all and still only be in for as much as a couple of Glocks. G2c is my EDC for now but the full size G3 carries VERY WELL and I am thinking about switching out. Thanks for the thorough review.
I agree... I have the G3 and G2C. No regrets whatsoever. Price and safety features as a new licensed gun owner was a selling feature for me. Wish Taurus had a 22 lr subcompact. I would buy that too.
That's a nice looking M1 Carbine stock back there. :) I much prefer the feel of the G2C, it is very comfortable in my hand. The Block 26 just feels like, well... a block. Not comfortable for me at all, so the Taurus would be my choice of these two, easily. I also like the extra features of the Taurus.
As a fellow south paw I agree... However with a lil patience and lots of practice u can operate any firearm.... A great example are 1911's pre ambi safety. Those were so nightmarish for me when I 1st started shooting... After awhile operation became 2nd nature.. Good luck to u fella
Uh why? The point of Taurus is a budget firearm. Then you'll have to deal with the fudd safety, that's not ambidextrous. "Sure I have this CZ Scorpion for home defense, but that HiPoint carbine is cheap. Let's get both!"
FOR CARRY... some cut off part of the magazine baseplate to be flush with the inset on the bottom of it. Really fits in a pocket better (with a pocket holster of course). It does NOT affect the operation at all... merely removes the small "hook" for the little finger. Great vid. Nice to see an honest evaluation.
I have the G3 and I love it...I also have a PT111 and a PT145 which they no longer make... those are 14yrs old and they still shoot very well...No issues whatsoever...Just take care of them and they function just fine...
The G3 is my everyday carry. No complaints. Actually, I have one complaint. I'd like them to make a G3+ with a 4.5" barrel! These guns are so great and reliable, they should keep making various models.
if you swap out the recoil spring made by lakeline, llc on the taurus, the barrel play goes away and the gun becomes solid. I also changed out the trigger with a 3rd party (this trigger preserves the safety feature), the striker guide is plastic so i swapped that out with a stainless steel one. Swapped out the sights with tridium sights and now its a great gun. Total upgrade costs was $178. In the end, i spent about 450 for it.
Well the other reality is....most people are never going to shoot a gun enough to wear it out so that's a mute point. And even once you do wear out the taurus you've saved enough money you can easily replace it or buy a reasonable shot gun etc
My G2C is perfect for me. I love the double stack magazines. Although it’s a bit hard to get all 12 rounds in when you first buy it. After you fire a couple hundred rounds through it, it becomes easier. I bought this gun in June of 2020, it’s already gone up almost $100. Get it while you can.
Love my glocks, always have, always will. That being said the G2C is one of the best pistols I have ever owned. My wife has one and loves it and I have 2. One in my truck and one i carry. We have ran hundreds of rounds through them without a single issue whatsoever. By far the best value in a firearm on the market today in my opinion. Can't go wrong by purchasing this weapon.
I lost my G2c winter before last and we searched for 3 hours and could not find it, went deer hunting last winter and hunted from the same spot as I started to get up to go get the deer I shot I was walking and looked down and I found it, picked it up emptied the mag. wouldn’t trust the ammunition after laying out like that, took it home cleaned it, took it out fired 500 rounds that day ( NO PROBLEMS!!!) Make no mistake, I'm a die hard Glock fan.
Lol.
I was told about a week ago that Taurus is glock. It's just their lower budget version

That's the reason I bought it. Safety comes first
Totally agree with you

You dont need second strike capability when the gun goes bang Everytime you pull the trigger. Thats a strawman.

Beat that!
Erica Maurizio 13 rounds? It only holds 12 I thought
How did it improve after 500 rounds if it didn't have a single problem?

The G2C and the G3 are the best things going for the first-time handgun buyer or the buyer on a strict budget. They’re good pistols and that’s coming from a guy who has spent a whole lot more.
Why? #1 reliability(2000+ rounds....no failures) #2 shootability (comfortable with the gun and love the grip) #3 capacity(12+1...only other gun that comes close is the 365...which has had some serious failures)
So, if the G2C were to cost $500.

I gotta say, the Taurus is
More accurate than the Glock. I went through 200 rounds, 100 in each of them. And the Taurus has got the 19 by A significant margin.

Single stack
I was in the store for over an hour looking at both of these, I walked in for the Glock 26 and I left with the Taurus.

I like the Taurus better too. Bought one today. Perfect carry gun.
You remembered that you could use the larger Glock magazines in the G26, but you did NOT mention that the Taurus g2C takes magazines meant for the Sig P226! That is important so you can compare them "apples to apples."
I never knew that. Thanks for mentioning it!
This is good to know, but the glock mag is a schelling point. In a SHTF situation, that could be important. Is it $300 important? I don't know.
Also cheaper then dirt has 2 and 3 round extenders for the stock mag and they also have an extender option for a 30 round mag on the G2C. Oh by the way the 30 round mag extension for the G2C is around $35.
Not to mention it will also take the Canik TP9v2 series magazines...

I recently got a G2C and I agree with most of what you said except for the reliability issue. Taurus gets unfairly tarred for it's sins of the past. One of the best unbiased review I’ve seen! Nice job
Great review and comparison I didn’t detect any bias at all I actually have both guns and prefer the Taurus.

Taurus is just covering it's ass with the redundant safety features . A smart move in today's sue happy world.
Ridiculous and a deal killer for me. A gun designed by lawyers. LEO's won't carry it for sure.
Plenty of the LEO folks you mentioned have had the gun go off while holstering.

Who does that cerakote?
💯
Hi point c9 come in a plastic box lol
Same here.....I have a pile of boxes in my closet!
@@walterminer4990 You can get a plastic case with foam already in it from Academy Sports for $6.
You too? Lol yeah man I shot way better with my Taurus than my Glock or Sig. I don't even like the Sig much
Many parts now coming out for the Taurus. Damn good value gun!
I have both and I love the G2C! Easy to shoot, accurate and reliable. Heard all kinds of horror stories about Taurus but this gun is a winner!
I’d take a Taurus even if both were the same price
Eh that's pushing it
I believe that
..me too Mark..the better handle on the G2C alone..
Well that's just darwinism. Taurus has a history of some of the crappiest qc from any gun company.
Me too. In fact for handguns i only own Taurus. ACP or Revolver.
My ex is army vet did tours etc...6 years ago he recommended me to get a taurus. he said it's accurate and reliable. That stuck with me ever since I never listened to anyone else's advice lol
The Taurus is honestly a great option for someone with a low budget, shoots well and is a good conceal option
G2C works well for me. Clinger IWB at four o'clock. Polished feed ramp and stainless rod. Stainless version.
I highly recommend the Taurus.
repetitivemotion how is canik?
Goldenfightinglink I have three Caniks: Canik Stingray-C, Tristar P100 and Canik TP9SA. They are all great pistols. Never a failure. Accurate. Dependable. Inexpensive. I recommend them.
And y’all should see how the g3c shoots I got mine and love it
Any jams so far?
Good honest review and I agree on the longevity between the two but for a guy like me that doesn't shoot every week or month for that matter I believe the Taurus would stand up fine for the amount of use it would get from me. Thanks and I look forward to more honest open minded reviews.
The G2C will accept SIG P226 mags if you desire higher round counts.
Dont cause malfuction?
@@richardreyes8263 nope cycles perfectly if you use quality mags (not promag) it even locks the slide back after last round. I recommend the 15rd P228/P229 flush mag as a spare mag as it is shorter than the P226 15rd mags.
Talking about Taurus longevity and being able to hand it down my Taurus 99 I bought in the 1980s still working find today and I don't know how many thousands around I put through it. It's a nail driver and the finishes just like the day I bought it
@@richardreyes8263 nope. Their mags are patterned off the P226.
@@rjp194 I have actually tried several different mags and many function well. My Canik 20 round mags work pretty well.
Yeah if you ignore their history of making shitty guns then no issues at all 👍
Wookie well their recent history and reliability have nothing to do with their distant history. Companies do improve their products.
They have corrected, and totally redeemed their company with fixing old problems. In short this gun out did the glock. Dont say much for glocks, but they are over priced, and over rated lol
@@minuteman5369 I agree with this 100 percent!! Right on man!
Standard 12+1 and high capacity mags are available. Comes with 3 mags all for $249 or less. Hard to beat.
I was hoping you’d say “If you need 33 rounds in your backup weapon, you’re already having a very bad day.”
😁
This dude really did his research glad he shared it with the rest of us for the newbies! very symbol no bs just straight forward...
I've put over 1000+ rounds thru my G2C with no problems. Trigger was the only issue for me but got use to it.
Steve glasscock how would u describe the trigger? A bad thing?
Will the Taurus eat all round or dose it suggest brass only
@@mitchervin522 As well as I know out of my experience - it doesn't make a difference.
Modern 1911 still has safeties in it. Same for 2011s. Could have easily gotten rid of it.
I love the Taurus line, my EDC Is the th9 and my wife carried the g2c, both have had over 300 rounds ran through them and no problems at all.
My only regret with my G3 (which is my everyday carry), is not buying the T.O.R.O. Hindsight is 20/20.
I agree with the poster. Good video. I've owned the G2C and I think it's a great gun.
Just got one a week ago! Shot a mag and I love it! It’s simple, compact, and reliable.
I agree... I have the G3 and G2C. No regrets whatsoever. Price and safety features as a new licensed gun owner was a selling feature for me. Wish Taurus had a 22 lr subcompact. I would buy that too.
Wow, someone not afraid to call it like it is.... 🎯🤔👍
I bought a Taurus just for the hell of it and I actually kind a like it can beat the lifetime warranty
I wanted the Glock 26 gen 5 being a lefty but now Im getting both. Taurus wins this comparison.
Tarus is fairly easy to carry, coming from a southpaw myself
@@robertneill482 yes it is.... Great lil pistol... And for the price point id carry 2...
Hey Hegshot87 just bought a Taurus G2C using your promo code. Thanks for the honest and in-depth video.
Thanks!
buy two Taurus's for the price of one glock. No brainier. As for longevity. Use one Taurus and save one in reserve.
Two for one with money left over for ammo.
Don’t forget to break the reserve in
Picked up 2 for 316 with a 30 mail in rebate per last week.
Well the other reality is....most people are never going to shoot a gun enough to wear it out so that's a mute point. And even once you do wear out the taurus you've saved enough money you can easily replace it or buy a reasonable shot gun etc
It’s nice to see an honest review from someone that’s not a glock or nothing fanboy
I am a Glock and M&P guy to the core. I also own the G2 and have 0 issues with it. 12+1 is awesome in such a small package. Time for a G3 😁
Got mine 💖💖💖
Just got the g2c this past weekend
I love my g2c, I've only put 300 rounds through it but it has ran perfectly with everything I've fed it so far
Bought a G2C and gave it a 500 round test. Love it! Got rid of the overpriced Glock with no second strike ability or thumb safety!
I bought my new G2c in March of 2019. Including factory rebate, $163 out of pocket!
@@georgehandel5908 damn I just bought mine for $299
@@primo799 The "$163", is a very limited REGIONAL price...
I picked one up on the 4th of July for 280.00
Just got mine for 280
Love my glocks, always have, always will.
