I dislike when says the g3 or g2c is a good gun for a budget gun. Its as good or better than most 500 dollar guns just priced correctly. Anyone reading this stay safe in these strange times we are living in
I had recently visited a local gun store. They had the G2 for 230 bucks and the G3 for 250. Needless to say the sold in a flash.
I agree
You can pay a fortune for some real crap firearms and pickup some awesome ones for peanuts.
I totally agree!! how stupid is it that both are polymer frames, identical materials as in slide, barrel etc, Glock comes with plastic sites for the double the price and less features and the Taurus is a Budget gun!! hahahaha it's hard in the gun world to talk about the king, I own both of these guns and believe it or not my G2 is my EDC
@@sandymitchell8182 I don't get the Taurus bashing. I had a .357 back in the 80s, excellent gun. A few years ago I bought a PT709 for my ex and a G2 for myself. No problems.
I’m a gun person all around especially after a couple decades of service. I like glocks however, tired of the hype surrounding them especially when they are so basic. The G3 on the other hand to me feels better, more comfortable, easier functions, I personally like having the safety, the grip to me feels more secure especially in moist environments, and the sites are very easy on the eyes. The G3 is easy enough that my 12 year old daughter at 50’ and 75’ hits a 5” target with ease. Got it, Glock has a long history of reliability however the G3 has done nothing but impress me. I even purchased a second one for my wife for home security. I do and will without a doubt carry the g3.
✌🏽Same. I edc a stainless G3 & trust her completely.
That's awesome bro. I'm a Taurus fan for sure
I ( USED) To carry Beautifull 1911's. BUT, Was Soo paranoid bout Getting a Scratch on em! Silly?? Yes! But So be it. I've Just gotten the G3 & G3C. BOTH are Totally Reliable! Both Ball & Defence rds! Their NOW my New EDC's.. An EXCELLENT Meat & Potatoes piece. Reliability! THATS wat Matters! Scratches Be Dammed! Safe Queens ARE Nicee! BUT, There ARE Real world Needs ALSO! GOD BLESS....
I had the 4th gen back in 2014-17 it was great but I like the look and feel I like the safety of the g3
What do you think of the G3c?
I went with the G3. Same amount of gun for half the price. Love the mags, trigger and double strike capability.
I love the mags too but DAMN they get pricey 😭
I bought 6 extra ones and it cost me $200+

Love my G3C and I’m picking up my Taurus G3 tomorrow!!! Two reliable, high-quality guns for the price of one Glock.
I also own a G3 and a G3c. They have become my favorite sidearms even slightly more than my Sig! But, I will not part with my Sig its just a bit heavy for daily carry.
I've had a glock gen 3 19, a glock gen 4 19, and a Taurus G3. Besides the finish the G3 is superior. FYI I no longer own any Glocks.
Smart man
@@illmatic826 Same here! No more Glocks!
After extensive research, I will NEVER buy a Glock. I buy guns to last my lifetime.
Literally the only thing that would make me go with a Glock is the aftermarket options for Glock. (And because I have like a million Glock mags) I also don’t much care for the trigger due to how far back it breaks. If the Taurus aftermarket started to take off I would buy the G3. That being said, my everyday carry is actually a G2C.
Blasphemy!!
15:58 no one is talking about what this trigger really is.
THE PERFECT TOOL FOR DRY FIRE PRACTICE.
Forget re strike this is the only gun that is a functional semiautomatic firearm that you can dry fire without having to reset the weapon every time.
So true.
Surprised no reviewer has mention this.
Been thinking the same thing. If nothing else, it's for training.
The dry-fire trigger is why I am buying one... well that and the price and reliability.
Exactly. It’s not perfect cause you do want to practice with the trigger reset for it feel right but I definitely practice double taps and cadences during dry fire with the G3C
Glocks are like revolvers: they work, but you're getting one of the most, if not the most, basic pistols out there and you're paying more for it than you should.
Andrew Shirley exactly , money isn’t worth anything if your dead
Like Apple.
Yessir
@@jethEngine glock is apple and taurus is microsoft
@@Darrenblake305 agree to disagree. The G19 gen 5 just keeps on working.
I would take a Taurus over a Glock any day I'm proud to say it to anyone and everyone.
I have 100% confidence in Taurus handguns and trust my life and my family's lives with all of them.
My first ever handgun was a Taurus 85 "Classic" .38 Special that I got in 1988. It's in pristine condition, and I still carry, shoot, and cherish it to this day.
I also own the G3C, GX4, TX22C, and Defender 605 (as well as many Rossi and Heritage Arms firearms, which are owned by Taurus).
The GX4 is my EDC of choice and would be my choice if I could only have one handgun.
I've also owned both a G19 Gen 4 and G17 Gen 3 in the past. I no longer have either of them.
The grip angle on the G3C is better than the G19.
The agressive stippling on the G3C grip allows for better purchase, yet is very comfortable.
G3C has front slide serrations, and the Taurus serrations are superior to Glock regardless.
G3C has finger and thumb rest indentations on both sides.
G3C has a superior loaded chamber indicator.
The mag release, slide action , and trigger pull are all smoother on the G3C.
Factory sights on the G3C are superior to Glock's.
The G3C has a cleaner, crisper trigger break and has restrike capability.
The perceived "felt" recoil is less with the same ammo in the G3C.
Besides all that, Glocks are the Nissan Cube of the gun world.
Square and boxy and nothing attractive about them.
Glock fan boys and casuals (not you, just saying) simply like to parrot all the glorious nonsense they hear about Glock as if there's never been a FTF or FTE on a Glock, and as if every part on every Glock never wears out.
Then they dog on Taurus because they heard some gunshop commando say once that his buddy bought one and straight out of the box it went bang, bang, click, and so he'd never trust his life with one.
When in fact, those same people have likely never owned, shot, or carried a Taurus.
In my opinion, Glock win the battle for mass brainwashing and that's about it.
Case in point... you just pointed out all the superior features of the Taurus, and how it was a better shooter, and yet you still said you'd choose Glock because of "history".
That then begs the question, "What's your history with Taurus? Did you ever own one that was a lemon? Did one ever fail you?"
It's simply ridiculous echo-chamber nonsense.
So why would anyone spend $250 more for an inferior handgun that's about as exciting as a $6 Sunbeam toaster from Wal-Mart?
Same here!
Exactly I’ve had multiple glocks jam on me but my g3xl never once had any malfunctions at over 5000 rounds with regular cleaning and maintenance. I definitely agree with you. The only reason Glock is more expensive is because you’re paying for the Name. When it comes to striker fire pistols it’s like comparing Nike/taurus to Jordan/glock they both made out of the same material just one is more expensive because your paying for that name.
Man when you get a chance try that g3xl
@@BrokeShooterCo. I don't like the sucky trigger on the vanilla Glock nor the angle of the grip.I heard quality and lack of innovation has really slipped as of late also.

Love my G3 absolutely zero complaints you can't beat it for $200 .
$200? Shit, I live in a very pro gun state and i couldn't find it for a penny less than 250
I paid 249 and am happy
@@Wildwestwrangler 249 is more like it. The original comment said something about $200. I had just been out a few weeks doing some heavy shopping and I knew the G3 was going for 250 minimum. I ended up buying a P10 but I did ultimately grab a G3 too. If I'm being honest - 250 is the very least the G3 should go for (new). Its far too good to sell at hi point prices
@Kenny J same here.
I paid about $250 when they were being pre ordered. I saw kentucky gun co with them for about $230 over the weekend
I have owned many different Glocks over the past couple of decades. To this day I feel the same way about em now as I did then.
I LIKE GLOCKS...BUT NOT ENOUGH TO KEEP THEM.
So with that I'll opt for the Taurus. Taurus is on a comeback.
The Taurus also has double strike capabilities
GREAT for laser dry-fire with the cool apps... and no ammo needed to train. Yay!
Taurus has stepped up their game, it's been like that for a couple years. I'll take 2 G3s over a G19
Same here. BUT, I'll take a 485$ CZ P10c over both

Me too! For the value & price all day.
Only real difference here is the price, Taurus is priced right and Glock isn’t......it’s that simple
$36 for mags add up real quick though. Reliable mags for glock around 15-20
@Iliketurtles 82 I shoot the crap out of my guns, I load up 10 mags at least to go to the range. Plus I like to rotate mags I keep loaded but that's just me.

Thanks for the chuckle. You want to bet your life on a substandard Brazilian product? Go for it.
@@tjparmele7177 All of the reviews prove your substandard claim to be a lie. The G2C is the first quality pistol Taurus has released in over 2 decades, and at an amazing price point. Buy two of them, having one for a backup in the unlikely event that one does fail, have some money left over for ammo, and still not spend as much money as you would on one Glock with a weird grip angle.
Not gonna lie I am a gun snob and I'm prejudiced against cheap guns lol. A couple years ago I purchased a used pt111 G2C and it changed me now im in therapy and that gun helped me. Taurus is on the way up I'm even thinking about inviting another one to my house lol

I hope you're right that Taurus is on the way up. My old PT945 had me thinking that, but then they released the Millennium Series in 1997 and everything started to go down hill quickly. FWIW, I still have my PT945 and love it.
I recently own G3. It shoots well and quite stable. Not to mention way cheaper than Glock 19 which has similar specs.
I agree with Josh. A G3 is not good "For a budget gun". The G3 is not only my daily carry, but I've passed up so many more expensive daily carry guns for it. Bought the G3 when it came out. I carry the 17+1 mags. I absolutely love this gun!
It seems like in the end you made it a decision between Glock and Taurus, and not so much between the G19 and the G3.
Exactly what I heard too , chose glock because of it reputation and known reliability but literally said he liked the way the Taurus shot better , felt better in the hand , liked the sights better, was more accurate and was a better shooter but chose glock 🤔🤔🤔
@@SavageD1984 me too... basically you chose glock before you even made the video...G3 checked all your boxes over glock but you still chose glock... 😕
Bc ppl love popularity and hype more then quality
Let me throw in my 2 pennies! I have carried a G2C for a couple of years and it has been flawless with easily over 1,000 rounds. I love the grips! They are great with sweaty hands. One great thing you can do with only the Taurus, is remove the barrel, drop in a round, reassemble the slide, press the muzzle down on a table until the extractor snaps past the rim of the cartridge, then gently reinstall the slide just until the takedown levers engage. Now you can carry D/A , no safety needed. If you hate the safety that much, it’s no big deal to remove it. If you should ever have to use it defensively, it will end up sitting in an evidence locker for a year or two. $200 gun? I’ll buy another. $1,000 gun? You’ll hear me crying from there!
Doing that is bitching hard on your extractor!!!
@jessieschnidt I don’t think so. It’s not like I need to do it 100 times in a row or anything. Most of the time it stays loaded and only gets done GENTLY after cleaning or switching back to defensive ammunition after shooting range ammunition. It’s not done enough to be a major cause for concern.
I have 3 Taurus guns, they all work great. I have never had a problem with any of them.
Taurus is the sleeper.😂
love the Taurus (I have the G2C in 40). Looking to get a G3. I have several Taurus and they all work very well. No issues. And Affordable
I like the second strike capability of the Taurus which makes it dry fire ready.
You both picked the Glock because of the company history? I thought this was a head to head review of the two guns? Just skip the whole review and pick the Glock if that’s what’s your basing your choice on 🙄
Exactly... the review was pointless.
Suppose to be a head to head product not head to head company. "taurus shoots better and has better sights but choose glock" NICE
I bought a G3, man I love it ! Taurus and Canik man it makes you think about all the other gun manufacturers out there and their prices when you shoot really good but cheap guns . Loved the video!
People might think in a fudd but I carry Canik and Taurus daily with no problems
@@andrewmalbright caniks are nice though HKvp9 clone and you can’t go wrong with that
I fell for the Glock hype and bought a G19 gen 5. I know it probably needs to be broken in some but I went through the first three mags and there was a failure to eject and a failure to feed. I haven't had any issues with the Taurus PT111 millennium or the G3. I'm really not impressed with the Glock. I also think that the Taurus shoots better. I know Taurus has a past but I haven't had any issues with any of my current Taurus handguns. I cannot totally trust a Glock because everyone says it's good and not trust a Taurus because everyone says it's bad when my personal experience is totally opposite. I feel some reviews are just what people are compelled to say.
Just shot my Glock 19 x for the first time out of the box so many failures. I think I got the wrong gun
All my Taurus pistols rock. 👍😎☕
I agree Glock has no safety
I spoke to the owner of my local gun store and they said about all of their Taurus handguns flew off the shelves. It appears a lot of new gun owners are selecting the G2 and G3 as well as Taurus revolvers.
@@Graydog-sx6le Not a bad choice. Great for starters. No issues with my set so far.
Always had rifles and shotguns for hunting and at the 1st of this year after seeing and watching so many different RUclips vids a Taurus G2C and TX22 were my 1st handgun purchases, a G3 is next on the list as well as a 856
Just saw the 856 on Kentucky gun co website for $230
I have been carrying my Taurus G3 every day since I purchased it back in February I honestly prefer it to my G19
I enjoy the Taurus and I prefer the thumb safety. I also like the Taurus grip angle better. Both are good guns and I feel comfortable trusting them if by chance I may need them. Thanks for all the videos. Really enjoy your perspective and your wife was instrumental in selecting a hand gun for my wife. I appreciate it.
I have a Taurus G3 and absolutely love it. And I really like the re-strike capability. Most reviewers tend to consider re-strike as a means of firing a cartridge that failed to fire, but for me it's a great dry fire instructional tool. I use a laser bullet when dry firing and with re-strike capability I don't have to rack the slide each time. This allows for rapid fire practice as well as timed multiple target drills. Also, if you get in the habit of racking the slide after each shot it may have undesired effects in a high pressure situation.
The trigger is not the same on restrike pull than it is on the cooked pull. So that may result in a training scar as well
The Glock 19 is a good $250 pistol that sells for $500. The Taurus G3 is a great $500 pistol with a real mechanical safety and second strike capability that can be bought like mine with a stainless slide for $250! I unsubscribed after listening to this Glock commercial!
I agree
Very happy with my Taurus, and it's made in Georgia now
My G2c says both. Bainbrige, Ga on one side and Taurus Armas Made in Brazil
I like both of these guns. I actually thought the Taurus shot a little better and was more comfortable to shoot.
Better shooting gun, more comfortable, better sights, but you'll go with the name? The whole reliability thing... At what point in the testing did the Taurus fail?
The ONLY thing I can think of that is a big negative about the Taurus is the longevity of their finish - scuffs up and dulls up very quickly.
Yeah it was tough but when it comes down to it, I need to see more from Taurus over a longer period of time. Just my opinion. They're on the right track I feel
I bought a $20 vinyl USA flag "wrap" for my G2C when it was newer... so no additional finish problems... because the wrap takes the wear and tear of my EDC.
Anything I can EDC against my body with wear & sweat (from the heat & humidity of south Florida) for over 5 years with zero problems & 7,000+ rounds (haven't checked my notebook for the exact number, but it's a lot more than that) is a long enough "test" of a weapon for me.
Glock 23 and 29sf owner. I have the Taurus as well. All of them do the job and options are a good thing. For the money the Taurus is a good buy.
Taurus G series pistols have proven to be just as reliable as any weapon over the last 5 years meaning people need to stop that BS about reliability plus you carry what you shoot the best - Taurus features make Glock look like they new to the weapons market lol - My first Glock was 1993 the 17 then 19 i carry both of them for over a decade in a half also had the 34 twice and the 37 - From day 1 i shoot the G3 with tighter groups i carry a custom g2c now with all the goodies with over 11,000 rounds thru it with no issues -Sold all my Glocks with no regrets getting the STK 100 to replace my Glocks - good video as usual SIR
Taurus has definitely improved in the past few years. Have a few and they’re reliable. Revolvers and semiautomatics alike. Don’t feel at all worried any would fail me. Good video. I do agree though that Glock does have a great reputation. A reason I own them too.
I actually prefer the G3 because of the external safety, it's what I'm use to and have trained myself to have. I carry the G2C every day but it will go to my wife when I get my G3.
Since I purchased my G3c my Glock 19 is collecting dust😭
So basically the G3 won the comparison lol. We're not comparing the history of the companies, just gun v gun. Dead giveaway is when "reliability" is the first reason why. Everyone who has touched a G2C on up will tell you that it's as reliable as any gun on the market. Reliability means that it goes bang when the trigger is pulled. It bangs every time. Excellent review and fair review tho! As someone who can afford both (if it weren't for the extremely stiff slide release on the hellcat it'd be my favorite EDC) paying double for less features and bad sights makes no sense. I don't own the G3 but I do have the pt111 and the G3C. I wouldn't conceal carry the G3 or 19 like I do the G3C. I'd only open carry those.
The fact that the Taurus is a challenger to the mighty Glock is proof enough that Taurus is worthy and lost the challenge only by opinion. Thanks for this important video. Both feel, shoot, carry like 9mm and always go bang.
Taurus is awesome! I have the 605 poly and I love it. It was definitely eye opening because I’ve always bought the more expensive brand.
i have the taurus 856 shrouded hammer and love it. EDC gun for me

This video is very important. Thank you for making it. For those saying to just go ahead and get the Taurus over Glock, I have just one problem with this. I work in firearm sales. Currently, we have Glock 19’s and 17’s in stock. We don’t get many G3’s. As of the typing of this, we have zero. They’re typically gone same day as they come in. The reason this is a problem is because the people who are getting the G3’s are upper class. I can see your watch, the car you drove up with, and the suit you’re wearing. You can more than afford a Glock. The single mom on the south side who had her door kicked in last night can not afford a Glock. The Taurus G3, Smith & Wesson SD9 VE, and Ruger security-9’s are all they can afford, and they’re always out of stock. Unless you’re gifting these, or letting people borrow them, get the more expensive options if you can afford it. I know that I don’t know everyone’s story, and this is just a generalization, but please be considerate of those less fortunate. They deserve the right to protect themselves with working tools as well.
-thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Some of us could possibly afford the gen 5’s but can’t stand them. Glock to me is going down in quality, for the price of a gen 5 there are several other guns that have better triggers, sights, grips, etc. out of the box than Glock.
usa2012 true true. I do appreciate Glock, but so much is personal preference at this point. I carry a sig every day. The point is that I try to guide those away from the cheaper options in order to keep those options open for people who truly can’t afford anything else. Those in poverty still have the right to protect themselves, but the barriers to entry are a bit pricey sometimes.
I actually had this dilemma when I bought my G3. There was a woman in the store who seemed pretty green about guns and she was concerned about why most of them were so high. We were in line and she was after me, but I let her go first so that she could have a chance to buy it if she wanted to. I even talked it up to her when she asked me. She ended deciding to wait until she rented on
I don't think it's the consumers problem. The other guns are overpriced. That's the manufacturers fault. If Taurus will stay reasonable and fair. The price of the other guns will be forced to come down.
Wealthier people sometimes stay that way because they chose to go with something cheaper if they know they won't use it a lot.
Taurus G3 it is. $260 now. And The Taurus G2C is $209 last day sale on PSA right now!
almost makes me want to buy both instead of a G19/17, and I'll still have money left over for the holsters etc lol. I like the idea of a G17 to train outdoors and shoot steel, but man its hard to overlook the value proposition here.
PSA has been price gouging badly during this pandemic
With both of you deciding in favor of Glock because of it’s reliability history, there was no point in this video comparison. Notwithstanding your conclusion though, I enjoyed the comparative analysis.
It’s implicit bias due to name recognition and name recognition alone. Don’t get me wrong glock is good (had one myself). But Taurus does what it needs to do, for half the price. At the end of the day, with all the proof needed, people will continue with their support of the higher priced, more famed brand over any other SIMPLY by name. Not trashing either brand, simply just human nature
@@markbass9639 it's called mimetic desire
Was thinking the exact same thing.... pointless
This went from comparing two guns to comparing two companies' history. Thanks for the byas review
We have the TX22,G3, G2C,& G2S with a different recoil spring and sights I still can buy another Taurus over a Glock. We did our CCW class with two of those guns and have over 2,000 rounds in each one now still no problems. Hard to buy anything else. Good video.
So, the Taurus already comes with the sights you'd have to pay another $100+ for, on top of the fact that the Taurus is already less than half the price of a Glock. I was lucky enough to get mine both used, so they were much less expensive. But then I had to pay for sights, and P80 frames. Were I starting all over again, I'd just buy the G3 and be done with it.
I went to the range and shot bot the glock 19 and the G3 and I must say, I liked shooting the G3 a little better
I bought the Taurus I really like the grip angle better. And the price tag is unbeatable
I'm close to getting my pistol permit. I live in New York state, I really like and enjoy your videos. I like the way you break things down and explain things. So right now I'm at that point where I am trying to decide what my first hand gun is going to be. I am leaning towards the Taurus G3 9mm for budgeting reasons and I like the way it looks and I have heard a lot of good reviews. Later down the road I will indulge more for my second hand gun, maybe look at a Smith&Wesson.45. Thank you for the videos.... Great stuff!
No contest! G3 is much easier to shoot with better, faster groups and lower recoil. G3 has a thumb safety. G3 has second strike capability. Glock has bad grip angle. Glock is grossly overpriced. G3 is made in Bainbridge, Ga. G3 has been absolutely reliable as has the G2C short barreled version. No more Glocks in my collection.
Well said sir well said
I agree with those commenting on this being a Glock vs Taurus company comparison though I did respect their comments. I bought two G2s several years ago for my wife and I for our personal carry since we were limited in budget for two at one time. For less than the price of one Glock I purchased both G2s. I was hit by a pickup while riding a motorcycle and carrying IWB appendix carry. After flying through the air and tumbling down the road the G2 came out of my nice snap in holster. The pistol ended up about 50 ft down the paved highway from where I came to rest. The G2 had only a slight scrape on the rear site and nothing else visible. I was thankful for the safety features including the manual one which gave a little more assurance that it would not fire through all that. Children were in the vicinity of the accident. After that I purchased a G3 for equipping with laser sight and lite for home defense. After medium use I have not had a single misfire even with a lot of steel case ammo with any of the three.
I have a glock 19 gen 4 and glock 26 gen 4 Iove them both but the Taurus G2c and now I have the g3c and I can honestly say that I like the g3c more than the glock 26. It holds more rounds and if fits my hand like a glove and reliable. If glock wants to not be left in the dust then need to put better sights on and change the grip a little better. The Taurus g3c grip is way better than the glock 26 and the sights are better too. The g3c trigger I think is better than glock. If glock doesn’t keep up with the times then they will fall behind. Do your magazines only hold 10 rounds in your state?
Hegshot, love the channel! The Taurus G3 was a my 1st handgun purchased Thanksgiving week. I got it because it was what we could afford and it had great reviews. Because of the price, I was able to afford the cost of the training for CWL, LOTS of ammo and LOTS of personalized training since December. I have shot the G3 tremendously well and it has served me well! I did upgrade the sights to TruGlo TRX Pro’s (because I could afford it). It has been my EDC since then until.... (a little later)
I just purchased a Gen4 19 We The People Cerakote edition (had it on layaway as this habit has been costly LOL). As I was signing for it, I realized I HATE THE Glock!.. When I grab it, my middle finger doesn’t clear the trigger guard and it’s not a good firm grip or feeling) I’m not a big guy so my hands are only medium sized...The G3 feels awesome! The Glock ..NOT. I will now end up moving the Glock to recover the funds. Oh yeah, I haven’t bothered to even shoot it...if it feels awful, it “ain’t gettin no better!”
Well, my G3 is a beloved tool and I have over 3,000 rds without a single failure!! The ONLY problem I have, as of the last few weeks, is that when I hard reload a mag with the slide open, the slide closes automatically going into battery! (I can actually do the same thing with the slide open and no mag inserted, but just hard slapping the magwell with the palm of my hand). I figure I must have worn something out, and it will be shipped back this week (for who knows how long). To be honest I love the quick reload when training, and my Tac Instructor laughed at the auto-battery...but we both know that the gun did something I didn’t tell it to do. That does leave some questions (about what else it may do)
My wife decide that a HK VP9 was the one for her so that is what she got. Now that we could afford it, my EDC G3 has to go in for service, and I just hate the feel of the Glock (yes, some will say do the trigger guard undercut like many have done..but on a Cerakoted gun I am not even going to consider that) my wonderful wife told me to just get the VP9 since I too love the way it feels and shoots)
As of yesterday the VP9 is my EDC. With that said, I would EDC a brand new G3 again if I had to...I don’t know how many people have actually put 3000 rds through one in about 4 months, or if my auto battery is just a fluke, but I would carry it all over again.
I’m not sure I will ever try a Glock again.
This video is an awesome one (as all your videos are IMO). I just thought I’d offer my experience (which is likely unique as I doubt many would start with the G3, go to a Glock19 and choose the G3 hands down).
Hope you don’t mind the extremely long comment!
Thanks Hegshot, & Mrs. Hegshot too! Stay safe & healthy!!
Taurus is not made in Brazil. Now made in the Bainbridge GA USA. Just saying.
Great review and always good to hear a woman's perspective. I like .45 ACP Glocks but have been carrying M&P 2.0 Compact 9MM lately due to some arthritis issues and find it to be a great pistol for CCW. Thanks for sharing
FYI the taurus pt 24/7 g2 17rd magazines work perfectly with the g3 and fit flush with no need for any spacer. A while back I picked up 5 from gunmag warehouse for $9.95 each.
I have a G2c. I love it. No problems
visited my daughter and son-in-law out in FT. Collins CO. the first of Oct. and was shocked the gunshops had stock...no ammo except with purchase...but wide variety was available. Treated my son-in-law to a G3 at 255.00 with two boxes of Winchester white box fmj at 12.99 per. Gun shot flawlessly. I sold Taurus in both retail shops and as a wholesale distributor rep for 25 years. Yes, Taurus put out some models which did not work well, consistency seemed to be their problem, but overall their bad rep has been overblown in my opinion. For the most part Taurus s-autos worked well.........except for things like horendous trigger pull weights on some models. I still have a Taurus millenium titanium 111...........and though it is basically da only striker fired like the G3, it is a smooth pull and 100% reliable. It was small and compact and hi-cap for it's size 10+1 before many other manufacturers like SIG acted like they invented hi-cap pocket pistols. As for their revolvers, only the very early ones from the 60's and 70's were junky.
just purchased my first gun. PT92 cant wait to break it in. beautiful looking Beretta style design. etc. price was right for my low budget
PT92 is flawless
👍Got both, love both. Taurus trying to hang with the big boys. I have Sigs, SW,Rugers,Glocks also. This G3C is a great firearm. Mags are impossible to load without a speed loader. I load three mags watching TV so i have 36 rds to go +1. Go buy one if you can, you won't be mad at yourself. ✌🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'm glad Taurus changed the G3 finish from the one that's featured in this video - it's a much better tennifer treatment now, darker and more resistant.
I can afford a $500-$600 handgun, It's just if i can get one equally in performance & reliability $300...$300 wins, It's called being smart. You pretty much said the Taurus is better in almost every way but the glock is a glock...TAURUS WINS!
I feel like if Taurus can keep going with reliable guns they could easily be the winner. I own a g3 and I love it. Not my favorite gun, but I definitely like the feel and trigger a lot better than the glock. Also the fact that you can upgrade the g3 completely and still not be at the price of the glock I also find awesome!! 😎
Just got a gen 5 19 last month. Love it way more than my M n P shield 2.0 I had before. Way more comfortable in the hand and I can carry 15 plus 1 instead of 8 plus 1. Haven’t shot a Sig or a Taurus yet but I think I’ll stick with this one for now.
Yep. Just replaced my shield with a CZ P10.
Way more confident about my carry weapon now.
Two 17+1 mags 👌👌
So basically based on your own words the Taurus G3 is actually a better Firearm then the Glock 19 but because of the “Glock” name you would “Trust your life” on the G19? 🤔 ... I believe that the for the Taurus to be a contender to the G19... eventually as it gets better and more firearm owners purchase it... it will definitely better... it took Glock many many years to get to the Gen 5... this is Taurus first go at the G3... jus my opinion
The thing is, the g3c is built off of an already proven platform (G2c).
PT 111 holder here first gen before they dropped the millennium one the first guns I bought and she still gets put in the rotation with with every other firearm I own that says something because I have some big brands but it’s reliability has been proven to me
I mean so is the glock
I’ve never had a failure in my G3 ... Also if the guns are so similar why would I pay 3 times more for a Blocky Glocky. My friend owns 3 Glocks and shot my G3 and loved how accurate and easy to handle it was . Glocks are the basic bitches of the world 😂😂
Of course all man-made devices can and will fail. However, if I had to pick between these two to defend my life today... it would be the Glock. Having said that, the striker in my Glock 48 just broke with 200 rounds through it... Go figure. In my opinion, Taurus did a great job with the G3. Time will tell how reliable it truly is. Thanks for the video!
Spending a few hundred dollars more naturally makes one biased towards the Glock, but only until you try the G3 then it's a easy decision to buy 2 for the same money and have 2x the protection imo.
Fired Up Custom Leather Works. Makes amazing custom holsters for the G3 and custom concealed carry belts
Love my G3 with upgrades sights
I can respect the choice me personally I love Taurus g2c and the g3 but it’s crazy to think how close they are to eachother yet so far away in price point
The G3 is my third Taurus (still own all three). I love the product, the performance, lifetime warranty and value.
I have a g3 I use for everyday carry and I absolutely love it I haven’t any malfunctions with it and my grouping is all within about 3-4” every time from 20-25 yards away I have no issues with it and thus far have no reason to say anything except it’s a really nice quality firearm and in my option way surpasses glock because of the price difference
The finish on the Taurus is not the best. It wears real quick especially in kydex holsters. Great guns though!
I just traded in my g3c for a glock 43. The Taurus would have feeding issues when I tried to use hollow points. The glock is reliable right out the box.
Great review! I do prefer the Taurus because of the features you pointed out not to mention a 300$ less price point. I love that you mentioned that if Taurus could continue to improve their name in the reliability sense it would almost make it a 50/50 on what to carry. I’ve found many upgrades for the Taurus as well though not as many as the Glock. But as you said with Taurus reputation and looking for something I can always trust I do understand why the Glock wins. Although I think I’d still take the Taurus I’ve abused my g2c 200 plus rounds without cleaning and 32 round clip with no jams. These days I feel as if you pay for the name. One is known to always be ther but has cheap feeling components(Glock). While the other has a rough history with some very nice user friendly components such as the grip trigger and accuracy (Taurus). Great video overall!
I've had both my glock had such a ridiculously high trade in, I swapped it for a 1911, which is my favorite gun of all time. But as a plain jane glock replacement for a couple of hundred bucks, my g3 is my 2nd favorite. G3 is dead accurate and reliable. I shot much better with the g3 than the glock, still not sure why and it definitely has a touch less recoil. I currently have 0 glocks in my stash and not worried one bit, I think i really overpaid for the glock, but it turned out fine at this stage.
G3 all day for me. Glock is a great gun, but you pay twice the amount. I also have the S&W sd9ve. Also a great gun in my opinion
I purchased my wife a Taurus G3, for her first gun. The fetcher that sold me, was the safety.
I keep telling people this
🎯
Awesome review...
I do carry a gen4 glock daily. But you have to have the proper holster. Digging the New Taurus system design. Looks to be very respectable.
I ( Was!) a gun Snobb & Taurus Hater! Haven't owned one in a good 20 plus yrs. Long story Short...Im Mow Hooked on their G3 Series! These things RUN GREAT! Before the Rang trip, Throughly Clean & Lube First! Ive run 1000 rds through 3 of em Collectivly, ALL Types Ammo. NO Malfunctions! Live n Learn..$ 265...CANT BE BEAT! Reliability is WAT Matters! God Bless....😊
Just got my g3 for 270$ couldn’t find it any cheaper where I live but it beats the hell out of paying 500$ for a glock for the same reliability
Man that G3 is a beast
My wife has a rose glock, I have 1911, Beretta 92fs, Canik Tp9 Elite combat, Canik TP9 elite sc, 2 Taurus g2, and my wife has G2C, also Ruger .45, several revolvers, and the Taurus is still one of my favorite guns to shoot. Just as accurate as any of the other guns. Glock has the absolute worst trigger, worst sights, and sounds like grinding shit when slowly working the slide. I can't wait to get the G3 and the G3C!
I have a glock and a G3c, and both are good guns (after I changed the sights, trigger, mag release, and add grip on glock, it is great). Never had an issue with either. Nowadays I am carrying the G3c more because its smaller and easy to conceal. The only thing that is obviously better on glock, is the slide finish. But, considering Taurus is about half the price, you must judge what is best for you.
I have both. But... I really like a metal magazine release, and a metal magazine, and the wider flatter trigger on the G3. Sorry, Gaston. But I do have both in my EDC rotation.
Amazing that all the pro’s you listed for the G19, you seemed to forget when you did your new shooter review that I just watched. Overall, great comparison between these two. I had a G2 that was very reliable but gave it to a family member who wanted a Manuel safety. Thanks for the video.
I have Glock 19 gen 4 and a Taurus g3. I was shooting Winchester white box and I had 3 light primes strikes with my Glock and 0 with the g3. I carry the 19 but the Taurus is still a great gun
I had this issue with my G19 and a Shadow System MR920 too. However no issues with the Gold Dots and Federal HSTs or the Winchester White Box JHPs. I think the winchester FMJ stuff just sucks.
I want the Glock for the track record, and hope to have one some day. But my wallet says the G3 for now.
So basically, the G3 is a better gun with the brand having a worse history.
I think it is a cop out to say the Glock is more reliable so it is a better gun. If you are testing what you have in front of you now, then judge based on what you have right now. Did the Torus misfire or jam when the Glock didn’t? Then grade on reliability. If they performed the same, then for the sake of your review, they were equally reliable. Look, I own the Glock and I had one jam in about every 1000 rounds that was easy to clear using range ammonium. I still like my Glock but after watching several reviews and reading a lot of reviews, it seems the Torus is the favorite but...
Why is it when they compare guns they never bring up the fact that Glock had a problem when they first came out with the frames breaking while shooting it? Nothing quite like a gun blowing up in your face while shooting, huh?
Hate Glock because of grip angle, I carry an M&P M2.0 4" Compact everyday so i know i can carry the Taurus regularly with no problem. I don't have the G3 and with what's happening in the world today its difficult to find any at my FFLs unfortunately but as soon as I can find it I will get it to keep it in the car. I also love my Canik TP9SF which will carry from time to time. A better comparison with the Taurus if you as me especially if you have the TP9 ELITE as far as budget firearms.
Love my G19 Gen 3, but yep first thing I did was dump the sights for some steel Trijicon night sights.
I would take 2 g3’s for the price of 1 Glock ? I’ve shot my g2c enough to where I trust it ...
