DOH! as this is the first ship I decided to build as I ranked up so fast crafting, I was struggling to use the ship builder. Most guides are for PC and NOT for Xbox , which I’m using. I eventually googled my issue. SOLUTION! Here it is: ON XBOX when you bring up the DEIMOS Habs..there are about 12 dashes underneath the title of the Hab. THEY MEAN YOU USE THE “D PAD” TO TAB LEFT AND RIGHT THROUGH THE HABS🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. It’s a simple thing but now I know I don’t think I’ll have any more problems. Fingers crossed. 🤞👍👍
I had a feeling that’s what you were missing, but I didn’t want to assume you didn’t know about that. But now you know, and you won’t miss a beat! When I was referring to the ‘variants’ of a hab, that’s what I meant. I just didn’t want to come off like “hey dumbass use your arrows on a hab” lol.
@@WizeOldWizard I am a Dumbass 😂 and I can report that I am now flying The ship you’ve help myself and other build. It’s Crimson, and called “Ddraig Goch” which is Welsh for Red Dragon 👍👍🎉🎉🎉👍thank you for all your help. The ship is AMAZING. Looking forward to reaching level 43 and completing your Atos II upgrades! Ddraig Goch II Will soar through the Starfield soon 👍👍👍
At level 60 you can change the ship to a Class B without any change to the layout. You then have a 39 power reactor available that is as big as a Class A. With that, you can put the same weapons on as you use in your Basilisk build. I would suggest upgrading the engines to good B class ones and of course the grav drive.
@@oldawg3934 by installing a class B reactor, but depending on your character’s level, you may not have a better reactor available to you yet. You also need rank 3 Piloting skill to fly class B. For reference, I was at level 30 when I completed this build, and the reactor that comes installed in the Star Eagle is better than anything else that you could replace it with. My character also had no ranks in Starship Design at the time of building Aetos.
Lol I was just going to comment on this, but you guys all beat me to it. I'm level 103, so that's what I did. I built your Basilisk in my last play through NG+3 but now that I'm going to hang out in +4 I need to build it again when I raise the credits.
@@DigitalChivalry Now I gotta shotgun through to level 60 for the good parts. I think I'm going to delay my NG+ start until around level 100, charge through them all to NG+ 10, where I will spend the rest of my Starfield days. Thank you for watching!
I just started a new save on Starfield and I came across your videos and I’m so glad I did! I’ve always been weirdly intimidated by the ship builder, and a lot of other RUclips videos out there don’t explain it well, and are often obnoxiously over the top. I really appreciate the calmness of the video and that you explain everything. Keep the videos coming, I’ve been watching a lot of them!
That’s awesome to hear, thanks for the feedback! Hopefully I can help you to gain confidence in the ship builder as it is a fairly deep and involved feature and the game does not make any of it very clear at all. Feel free to reach out with any questions or difficulties that you may have. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! I did everything exactly except for a few moments - instead of the grilles between the engines, I put a 1x1 engineering section, this made the image more complete from the inside, giving a sense of engine maintenance... and instead of the rear radiator, I put a third medium engine.
Yeah I built this at level 30 so I was unable to add engines 5 and 6, but Aetos II has the full stack. When you say 1x1 engineering, what exactly do you mean? The smallest engineering bays are 2x1…
@@WizeOldWizard Oh, I'm sorry, it's from the fashion "hab"... in general, I myself compared the simple storeroom habs to fit there ... then I tried to put the usual engineering hubs there and they went in well, but I had to remove the front radiator as well, but I disguised the structure with three weapon mounting points and the section became invisible
Got it, I for sure can’t wait for more hab options and for mods to be available on consoles too. I do have some mods installed but I don’t want to mod the ships or builder yet, this way console players can still build the ships that they want just as I do in the guides. Does that mod add any actual luxury modules?

Old post, but very helpful. I have watched a lot of ship building and habs videos and never before heard the practical suggestion to alternate SE and Demos to give a visual clue as to what deck you were on! Bravo. Since another kind commenter told me how to change habs with the space bar (PC), I can just go and swap those out on my mid deck for free. Lets hope that doesn't move the ladders. Also, being a buildery rather than combaty person, you taught me a lot about ship combat. This is my first space game and I wasn't even sure where I should be pointing. Don't watch much combat videos. Thanks for all your help.
Glad to help! For the record, when you swap a hab that’s already in place, you can’t switch between manufacturers. That function allows you to change the type of hab within the chosen size and manufacturer. So you’re only able to choose between Living Quarters, Armory, Infirmary, etc. Whatever options are available. The space combat is very fun and it’s impossible to avoid completely. You can always grav jump away, but sometimes you need to land on a planet and the enemies in some of these instances can persist. It’s good to be able to defend yourself, but there’s no real need to seek out ship combat depending on your playstyle and RP goals. I’m going to make a space combat guide in the near future that can hopefully help you out even more. Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard Thank you so much for the tip. I will subscribe and look out for that video. And I would have been disappointed when I found out about the switch. I will do it the hard way when I get my outpost built. Love that color difference. Thanks again. I am 78 and the old reflexes are rusty.
Holy wizard, I don’t know what to say! You a such a great ship builder. I dint know where I would be without you lol 😅 all of your videos have helped tremendously! Thanks!
Recently modified my already modified Frontier to your Basilisk build. Going to do the same with the Star Eagle. Your builds are by far the best I've seen on youtube or Reddit. You really have a tremendous eye for for design and efficiency.
Hell yeah man, Aetos is a great one! Don’t forget to upgrade your reactor and shield and weapons if you’re at or above level 60! Aetos II might be worth a watch too. Really appreciate your support good sir!
My pleasure as always! This ship is still at the top of my list. If you ask me, it’s the perfect balance. Good cargo, great speed, and incredible firepower.
Thank you very much! My primary goal with these builds is to teach and inspire, so I’m very happy to hear that my content has been helpful. Thanks for watching!
Just finished building this one. Thankfully - I managed to acquire the money for it quicker than I thought - and it’s a cheaper build Man… in reality the design changes you made are minor in the actual adjustments, but they make a HUGE visual difference. This thing looks so much better. And the hab info was perfect. Love having the single ladder I did end up putting a B reactor on it for a bit of a boost. I will eventually upgrade the weapons, but for now I ran out of money with the weapons you added (it’s surprising how expensive just the weapons are…)
Thanks a bunch man! As far as the ships in-game, I think the Star Eagle is up there as one of the most attractive designs. I didn’t want to reinvent it, just make some adjustments to really make it sing. Upgrading the core components is a great idea as you level. I’m using the 104ds mag inertial reactor now, and the same weapons as Aegis and Basilisk II. The Vanguard weapons save you quite a few credits, and the Obliterator Autoprojectors and Hellfires are both incredible weapons.
@@WizeOldWizard as I slowly catch IPO on your videos, I’m learning more and more haha. I’ve been a “casual” player for a while - just enjoying the Bethesda Easter eggs and such for the mostly But now that I’m on NG+ and finally hit level 60, it’s fun to mess with the ships more. I had one single ship build my last playthrough, and it was at the very end of the session. Now I’m at the beginning, so I’ll get to keep these for a while and I’m loving it
Hoo boy you’re gonna love this ship! Grab that Star Eagle as soon as you can, the Aetos can carry you all the way to level 43 where it can be truly upgraded with the full stack of 6 engines. Aetos II is the first ship that can easily take on any space battle. Thanks for all the support and engagement man, I really appreciate it!
Thanks Wizard...I completed this in the wee hours of the AM. Can't wait to pick a fight with some Spacers. I'm a big fan of fore and aft portals on living quarters for natural lighting...I too am about my crew's quality of life.
I definitely would have added them if not for my character’s level limitation when I built it. Every little thing I added took away from mobility. Once I can add two more of those engines I’ll be trying to stick those in. It’s very capable in combat, ships 20 levels above you will fall to this build even when outnumbered 3-1. Thanks for watching and building!
I love your videos. They are very well spoken, thought out and relaxing. The builds are great and craving more. Would be interested in a frontier/ golden eagle missile build .
Thank you very much! I’ve been busy capturing a load of footage these past couple of weeks, so I’ll be cranking out the edits on like 4 videos starting soon. This outpost base build is taking forever!
this is actually super sick!!! sooooooooooo given how reliable the previous ships were, i decided to keep waiting for your videos to improve my ships lol and the last 2 playthroughs i have built both the bristleback and the basilisk! but this is super dope! yes the build is great and enjoyable and something that i will copy lol but... dude your gameplay is so enjoyable! lol and it also looks like you know what youre doing as your boosting and reversing and shooting and everything happening on screen lol it looks like a ton of fun!
Dude! Thanks for sticking around for more and building the ships. I’m excited to have a full fleet worth of ships for my viewers to enjoy. I have gotten decent at flying these things, but I make a fair amount of mistakes in the combat showcase. I build every ship with combat scenarios in mind, so I have to show viewers what they can do. Thanks for noticing my practice time!
Great video as always. I have to admit, I've never used this ship. I got it in my last playthrough but completely forgot about it. I'll make the necessary changes. Thanks again.
No kidding, it's an awesome ship! In my first playthrough I literally shotgunned the Ranger quests as fast as I could just to get it. Too bad I didn't come up with this build the first time I got the Star Eagle. The Aetos is a blast to fly and formidable in combat. It's also going to get upgraded as I level up.
@@WizeOldWizardYeah it looks like it can handle Serpentis which is something I am scared to do at that level 😢. I was wondering, what do you think of the Taiyo and Hope Tech looks? Like are they on par with Stroud and Deimos? I've been thinking about trying them out but the Taiyo habs gave me a headache because they seem to want more and more ladders.
@@babydrane I always use the Hopetech captains quarters. It's the only one that actually looks and feels a bit comfy and offering a bit of privacy for the moments you want to pick up your emotional security bonus. 😉
@@babydrane at some point I will try my hand at building a Taiyo-based ship. I do think the interiors of Hopetech and Taiyo to be a bit lacking in style, with a few notable exceptions. I love the Hopetech cargo halls as well as the captain’s quarters, which was used in the Bristleback. I think some interesting exterior looks could be accomplished with the Taiyo habs. It’s coming for sure.
@@babydrane be afraid no more! All the combat footage I showed here was on very hard mode with no performance-related ship skills. Go get em! Thanks again for watching.
Really great looking build! You have a wonderful eye for aesthetic. Obviously higher leveled player can upgrade components more, but the low cost and performance of your build is great for early players. I am level 98 and on my first NG+ and just got the Star Eagle again. I was thinking about what I might want to do with it and will likely replicate this look!
Oh nice, perfect timing! You can build this exact design if you want even with all the parts you have available. The interior fixes alone improve the ship dramatically and make it much more useful for gameplay. I’ll revisit this build in the future and give it the Basilisk weapons loadout with that 39 power class B reactor. Forgot what it’s called. Thanks for watching, and if you build it, let me know what you think!
@@WizeOldWizard Built it last night. I use mods to remove limits, but what I did could mostly be done without mods and still kick ass. Obviously upgraded to the B class 39 reactor. I added a 3rd engine in between on each side since the engines only take 2 power, and they have a "middle" variant when you cycle through them. Regular top speed was hitting 179 for me, and with boost hit over 900! Mobility is, of course, 100. Also upgraded weapons and added rear facing turrets. Then took on Kryx and desimated it super quick. I also changed the top front Deimos Bracer with the "middle" variant of the top front Nova piece. I think it looks slightly better, but just a matter of opinion. I really do love the look of this ship!! So much cooler than the original design. Really great job on this one! My *only* gripe, and this has *nothing* to do with you, is that you have to walk around the ladder to climb it. If it was able to be flipped it would be perfect! 😂
@@timfederwitz totally agree with you on ladder orientation, but hey at least I was able to centralize it and eliminate the need to walk through the brig to get to the living quarters. I can't wait to hit level 60 and enjoy the full potential of this build. I will not be opting for any turrets as it will have terrific mobility, but that's just me. Very happy you like the build and thank you for watching and providing your feedback yet again. Cheers!
i hope you can show some more base builds or ship builds or even just anything lol. you do a good job. i just really hope they add more content to base building
I will do, I'm at level 56 right now so I'll wait to finish it when I can put in a B Class reactor. With the hours I'm putting in I'll probably be there today/tomoz 😁
@@sunnymondays6106 Man I wish I had that kind of time, I can't wait to get to 60 again and fully optimize this ship and the Peregrine. Get your Starship Design skill maxed and you'll be able to run that 104ds Mag Inertial reactor with 39 power. Jealous!
@@WizeOldWizard No thank you! This has been one of the best so far, optimising arguably the best free fighter in the game to something that can go farther and do more damage is one of the best ideas youve had yet. This video came at just the right time as Im at the mid-late game and it was beginning to let me down.
I'd be interested in seeing you produce a video on how you have your Skill Points applied vis-a-vis starships... leadership (how many crew you like, and who), which skills to prioritize (particle weapons, turrets, shields, targeting, etc.) and when. Also, I am not nearly as good a pilot as you appear to be in your combat demos at the end of your vids and would love some tips about that too!
Great suggestions, thank you! You’re not the first to mention ship combat training, but you are the first to suggest a skills-related guide. It would be very helpful to dive into those skills, as I know I was confused about some of them at first. Really appreciate the feedback!
Another amazing video man! Love it! Going home to change up my star eagle tonight actually and this has given me some amazing ideas 😜 I’ve been thinking space yacht of sorts with auto turrets. But I absolutely love the simple interior layout of this. Thank you for the great videos 💪🏼 been using my optimized basilisk through my very hard playthrough and can’t say anything bad about it😊
Dude! Thanks for sticking around for more builds. I have been seriously missing my Basilisk, but this ship will keep me content until I hit 60 on this playthrough. I’m also itching to be able to build big ships again. The severe reactor and engine limitations prior to endgame are killing me!
Are you saying my redesign is amazing, or are you some kind of weird video game purist and you think I’ve somehow ruined it? You can still fix the interior layout and change to the core components that I use while retaining pretty much the entire Star Eagle’s look. Until you want to complete the engine stack… Where are you gonna put the two extra engines? That was part of the reasoning behind my changes.
Oh and you killed it with that ridgeback. That’s my home ship and I keep it stocked with 250 of every resource in the game so I can build whatever, whenever, wherever. Just that limited grav range…. I’ve maxed out that distance skill it just can’t go the to a few planets. Still my favorite tho
Great build! Made this ship put my own touches on it, you can add two more of the same engines made it to a three stack upped the cargo and for the sides instead of the radiators i put on the Hope reverse thrusters looks good and fills the space better.
Do the Hopetech braking engines have attachment points on the sides? I’ll be adding two more engines as well as other upgrades as I level up on this playthrough. I was at level 30 at the time of building, but it can be built as shown in this video at level 14. I had no points in Starship Design either. The reactor installed on the Star Eagle is way better than anything I had available, and I couldn’t add the engines yet due to level and skills.
@@javi691us that’s what I suspected, hence why I used a radiator in between the Stroud nose caps, so that I could attach the Nova braking engine to the radiator. I wanted some shape on the outside of the engines.
Thank you, I want to continue to deliver and continue to improve. Glad that you’re noticing some progression at least, hopefully I only get better with each upload. Thanks for watching!
I just learned that recently too, and I’m over 400 hours now. In our defense, the game says nothing about it. Hopefully it helps others, thanks for watching!
@@Stuntsnik11 I wholeheartedly agree. It sucks, but on the other hand, it gives me more reasons to make content. I appreciate your views and comments, thank you!
Nice, thank you! I did the same thing when I upgraded this ship to Aetos II. Once I had all 6 engines there was a bit of room for a little extra mass. Mine is now Aetos III, with all the best level 60 parts. Thanks for watching!
Wizard you are a genus , the mantis build and upgrade are awesome this one is great thank you so much dude do you have a build for the Ecliptic Claymore 111
I do not have a Claymore build, and frankly, based on the lore of that group, I despise the Ecliptic and what they stand for. If I happen to commandeer a Claymore, I would likely just use it as a blank canvas and build from scratch over it. The upgrade/redesign videos are all based on the ships that you are rewarded at no cost, and how to make them significantly better than their base versions, as most players will likely have at least one of those ships in their fleet or could easily obtain. When it comes to boarding ships, there is such a diversity of them that it is unlikely any two players will have boarded and stolen the same ships. So those will be used purely as blank slates to build ships from scratch. That way, no matter what you’ve stolen for your own fleet, you’ll be able to build anything regardless of what it started as. Thanks for watching!
All looks and sounds pretty good from where I'm sitting across the pond. We are all inherently our own worst critics (I know I am lol) You do what you feel you need to, even the slightest improvement is always a plus, and thank you too for the content 👍@@WizeOldWizard
14 or 15 seems kind of low to gun down level 38 First members, but hey you do you. Now that was a NG+1 so not sure what it was on run one because I usually just worry about killing the bad guy and not the level.
Same thing I said in my video, you CAN build this ship at level 14 but getting it that early is pretty tough. Why wouldn’t you take everybody out? That doesn’t make a lick of sense.
Hi, thank you for your build. I was surprised that your Star Eagle started with 21 LY jump while mine only had 16 LY. I saw similar videos and their ship also had 16 LY jump. Did you start with a regular Star Eagle?
Thank you for your reply. I just got the Star Eagle at level 18. I am a beginner. Why do you buy so many weapons to feed all of them at around 50 % in fights? Would not it be better to buy half of them and to feed them at 100 %? Or is to unselect one of the three wapon type to maximize another one in some specific fights?
@michelpitermann5335 each weapon type has two variants: Auto and non-auto. This describes their firing characteristics and rate-of-fire. Non-auto weapons increase rate-of-fire as you increase power input, and therefore fire more slowly as you decrease power. Auto weapons, however, fire at the same rate no matter how much or how little power is applied. They have their RECHARGE RATE increase or decrease with power input, meaning you can give them 1 power and they will still give you maximum DPS. I run three Auto Particle Beam weapon groups, and distribute power to them so that they fully reload at roughly the same rate. You can also have turrets in each damage type that are auto or non-auto. The same principles apply.
@@WizeOldWizard Thanks again for the new reply. I thought that input power had an impact on output power. I did not catch that it regulated rate of fire or reloading time. That changes my plans. I will put EM in one slot to be able to board other ships. I assume that setting 0 power bars in auto weapons should deactivate them. Thanks again for your input. It helps me a lot.
@michelpitermann5335 correct, completely removing power from any system renders it inactive. This is especially useful when you have turrets but you need to board a ship. Also, you do not need suppressors to disable ships. Please see my boarding guide for direction on how to do that reliably. With that said, I highly recommend that you simply sell the ships you capture, as they tend to be really buggy when you build ships over those that you captured.
Ladder/door position has nothing to do on how you attach modules but the modules themselves. They got kinda of priority based on their size on where to put a ladder or a door. Companionways got the top priority (specially relevant for ladders), and aft and fore doors on any hab, center section of 3x1 habs, fore section (both side doors and bottom ladder) of 2x1 ones, the store room looks like only got door priority (but not ladder one), not sure about the bigger habs tho (didn't used them enough). In theory, complexity would revolve around how matching habs will resolve conflicting connection priorities, so my theory is that precedence only applies down, fore and port, but don't quote me on that, it's only speculation.
You don't need any ranks of Starship Design for this one, all you need is a minimum level of 14 (and however many credits I listed in the requirements section). As long as you have the Star Eagle, and have completed 'Grunt Work', there is no reason you wouldn't have access to what I used. Are you following the video and visiting each location that I do? Because certain parts are only available in certain places.
@@WizeOldWizard I was following. But early in, replacing the habs, I only have 2 Diemos..no workshop. ?, I’ve done grunt work, got the ship and am level 30 something. I was trying to build at Bessel 3 , where my outpost is. Any ideas ?
Each hab size has different types, if one hah type is available to you, you SHOULD just be able to select the variant that you want from the available options. I haven’t heard of any bugs related to this but it wouldn’t surprise me… At any outpost landing pad you’re supposed to have access to every hab from every manufacturer with the exception of anything larger than 3x1. If you’re not seeing it, it could be a bug and you may want to try to find a workaround, or go straight to the Deimos Staryard for parts from that brand. I’ve not experienced this myself.
I agree, which is why I didn’t want to just build something from scratch as a replacement. Aetos II is a significant improvement in performance, exterior design, and interior layout. Thanks for watching!
Another great build. I never see it mentioned. Does anyone else have the problem of your character freezing up when you try to climb shipboard ladders (on Xbox)? Is there a fix?
I Do Love Ur Ship Build Vids Though I Use Basilisk, Aetos And Im Not Sure Of The Name Of It But The 1 That Looks Like The Bask But Is Slightly Different
Another great build! Have you done any videos on ship crew? I noticed your crew is very different in your previous builds from my constellation crew at end game. Guess im not sure how they effect the ship or what skills to prioritize so I never changed them. Any tips would be appreciated.
Not yet but I do intend to do that. The members of constellation are arguably the best choices, just not when you want to play out your space pirate RP. Thanks for watching!
Nope, they clear them in a straight line. Not that it matters, as the weapons simply shoot through any part of your ship that is in front of them. Some builders line their weapons up with each other intentionally.
@@WizeOldWizard that's good to know. Looks very aerodynamic in much better than the eagle star. Those thin wings always made me cringe. This in the basilisks II are my favorite designs.
Definitely doing this when I finish the questline this weekend. Restarted and don't want to sprint to 60 so this will be great. I did do the Mantis quest early to get the gear, what are your thoughts on the Aetos vs what is possible with the Razorleaf early game?
You can make the Razorleaf just as effective in combat as the Aetos, you just need to add many weapon attachment points and upgrade all the core components that you can. I feel the base Star Eagle is much better equipped than the Razorleaf. They both need considerable weapons upgrades though. Also I HATE the Razorleaf's base design. Awful. Just my opinion though!
Sorry to be spamming your channel with comments but I have a request that you can consider but I am not really expecting you to do any of it now. Maybe in a year or so when (fingers crossed) all the patches make the game a bit more stable (and modded ships don't completely obviate the need to do any shipbuilding). Perhaps you could redesign some of these ships that everybody swore by a couple of months ago - Narwhal, Reef III, Silent Runner, Stronghold and, of course, the Abyss Trekker. I am not talking about a complete rebuild but something interesting like better flow for the interiors, some technical upgrades and aesthetic additions that keep the ships more in line with their names/spirit while still being stylish (like the Narwhal and Reef go along with this marine or fish theme Taiyo has going on but which, for me, isn't very sexy or evocative). I remember you said during the Basilisk build that you weren't impressed with Taiyo's ships. I wonder how you would remake them but still retain some of their spirit. Thanks for everything and this, I promise, is my last comment.😂
Very good suggestion, thank you! Also, this better not be your last comment, spam away! Every comment and view helps, I will never be upset about too many comments.

For increased single-jump LY range, spend some skill points in Astrodynamics. Glad to have you here and thanks for watching! Aegis is coming very soon, I teased it in the Indigo Ridge build video.
I have no idea where to get the nova galactic bracer used at 7:29 and basically wasted 3 hours of my life trying to reproduce this ship. It looks cool and it's a functional build, but more transparency about actual requirements would have been nice?
The Nova Bracer is available at your outpost landing pad and any ship tech that sells Nova parts. It’s not hard to find. Before the 1-minute mark in the video, I included a complete list of build requirements. Not sure how much more ‘transparent’ I could have been… You’re the first person to report this issue, so maybe don’t be so quick to point the finger?
It is absolutely available there. Along with any Nova specific part that is unavailable elsewhere, such as large habs, the Cabot bridge, and the Nova hab hallways just to name a few. But, again, the Nova Bracer is available at many locations including your outpost landing pad. It can be found in the Structural tab in the builder.
@@WizeOldWizard The finger might very well need to be pointed at me since I am brand new to starfield, but I am level 23 with level 4 piloting and 4 ship building and the part in question wasn't available via my outpost landing pad, so I went to Titan (where the Nova ship tech is) and it isn't there either. I'm assuming there is a quest required to unlock it? (I have done the entire ground pounder / grunt work questline and the FC quest to get the star eagle in the first place).
@Kjell777Iverson no worries man, I am here to help. I just wanted to clarify that I do in fact provide as much clarity to my viewers as possible. The structural parts in the game are all available at level 1 and do not require any skill point investments into Starship Design or anything else. The bracer can be found in the structural tab which is organized by manufacturer, so as long as you’re talking to the ship tech on the landing pad at New Homestead, or one of the ship techs elsewhere that sell other Nova parts, or at your outpost landing pad, that part will be at any of those locations as soon as you start the game. After being frustrated with discovering the Artifacts and Temples to get the powers in my first playthrough, I ran into the bug during Power From Beyond, that essentially prevents the quest marker from showing up for one of the temples on planet Oborum. Because of that I got angry, and finished the game, went through the You Know WHat to start NG+ and I started the game campaign. (didnt' skip the main story) Vlad gave me all the artifacts when I got back to Power From Beyond BUT: I still have one "Undiscovered temple" but I DO have all 24 powers. Problem is some of them are still Level I while most of them (and thank god the ones I wanted/thought were good) are Level II. Does anyone know (and it could be the game just being bugged of course)why this is happening, and is there anything I can do to fix it? I suspect Vlad is done giving me any more temples because I do have in my inventory all artifacts from Alpha to Zeta (if that means anything) I read that you may be able to keep the artifacts on your person (not in your ship because if you activate them, the next time you jump you will go to You Know Where) so I keep them on my person in case some side quest or other faction quest will trigger Vlad to get me that one temple I haven't discovered (or the rest of the Level I powers. I also suspect, since the game is using an Random Number Generator (RNG) that no one knows where they will pop up? I guess I'm asking is how do you know for sure that Vlad is done giving you more temples/artifacts? Am I done here and should just go to through to NG+ (2) ?? I did however complete both the UC and Freestar Collective faction quests, including the Crimson Fleet and Ryujen (sp?) in my first playthrough... My intention is to skip through the artifacts when passing through NG+ each time to level my character powers to level X and THEN do a proper story campaign, complete with shipbuiding (because I gotta tell you, losing the Basilisk after the time put into making it was........sad), outpost construction, etc.. I don't see the point in building these things if the only to lose them after going through to NG+ again, when all I'm doing is leveling up the starborn powers... Does that make sense? Being a bit of a completionist, I would rather get ALL 24 powers up to level X but if for some reason that's not possible (I thought the game only allowed a total of 10 NG+'s?) but if that's not possible I'd settle on only leveling up to X those II's that I have and forget the rest. I don't know why some are level 1 and some are level 2's. I feel like I did something wrong? Did I do something wrong? 😳 Any advice or insight into the leveling process would be greatly appreciated. Philip
Ok so I’ll try to answer your question as succinctly as I can: Personally I can’t offer a solution to the first problem of the marker not showing up, no clue there. As for having different levels of power, you can still get them all to ten, you’ll just have to do an extra NG+ for the ones that need an extra level. For clarity, here is my plan: Complete the story in its entirety and reach roughly level 100, with every power, before starting NG+. Skip the main story in each NG+ and just speed-run temples until I arrive at NG+9 with all powers at level 9. This way in NG+9 I’ll have all powers at max level and I can fully enjoy the story again, build all the ships and outposts, and never lose anything else. Hope this helps in some way, thanks for watching!
Thanks@@WizeOldWizard I will keep that in mind. I believe I read that that artifact bug would be triggered because you had visited one of the planets that had a temple on it that Vlad hadn't given to you yet and you built an outpost on it. Sure enough, I had an outpost on both Bessell IIIb and one in the Altair system; both places where Temples are.
You’re right, of course. For me, I didn’t want to have to take four points of power away from my weapons just to have 12 more mobility. At this point in the game (I was level 30) no better reactor is available. Once there is, the ship will absolutely be upgraded to its full potential.
Awesome build, but I couldn't complete it. I got 2 notifications in the flight log that says I need to swap out the reactor, and another that says two ship modules aren't connect
Only one thing would cause the game to tell you to change reactor, as an example, if you have a class B reactor but you try to equip any engine/shield/weapon that is class C. Your reactor’s class must be equal or greater to the highest class modules on the ship. In other words, class A reactors can only power other class A modules. Class B can power A and B, and class C can power everything. As for the unattached modules error, simply choose a part on your ship and use ‘select all’. That will then highlight every other part connected to that one, whereas anything that is disconnected will be gray.
Why do you only use particle beams for all three weapons in all your builds? In combat you seem to only use the obliterators, maybe your should replace the other weapons with missiles, ballistic weapons or lasers so they would have more use?
If you watch enough of the combat footage, you’ll recognize that I’m firing all three weapon groups whenever I engage with an enemy. 12 weapons at once. I prefer Auto particle beam weapons because: A) They have some of the highest DPS of any weapon in the game. B) That high DPS applies to shield AND hull equally. C) They also have the highest range of any weapon other than missiles (3000m+) I’ve got over 400 hours in Starfield. Most of what I do is ship building and ship combat. Hell I just gained 13 levels STRICTLY from ship combat in Aetos since I built it. Safe to say I have a good understanding of what works and what doesn’t.
@@savemc6181 yes, and because I know they damage shield and hull, I know I can just unleash them all on any target regardless of whether they have shields up or not. As a side note, you can also disable and board ships with these same weapons. You just have to make sure to do no damage to the ship you want until all other enemies are down, then target the engines and fire using ONLY the weakest weapon group. I always assign the weakest weapons to the third weapon group so I know which ones to use. Only works on ships near your level.
If you notice, during the combat showcase, all three of my weapon groups are half powered, and shields and engines are fully powered. Because the Obliterators have significantly more damage, I decided to just run four of them due to the power limitation. When better reactors are available, Aetos will get a full stack of engines, two more Obliterators, and an OP shield. My level 30 character simply doesn’t have better modules available.
I still don't understand how you figure out the math on power assigned to a weapon or ship part. "You only put 4 when their max power is 2 so you can have 6 of them". How does one figure that out? What is the math and where are the numbers to figure out what you can do? I don't get it. Obviously math is not my strong suit . LOL @@WizeOldWizard Does it mean your ships power says 27 and so your shield is 7, then your four particle beams is max power of 3 so 12, and your four Obliterators at max 2 x 4 so 8 which all equals 27? Then what about your third particle beam which is a max of three and you put 2 on your ship, and the engines? I'm confused 😩 🫣 😵💫
@@philipb2684 the game definitely does not make it clear but here’s how it works, and you can watch any of my build footage to verify this: Every component that requires power has a ‘max power’ rating, and you can allot a maximum of 12 power to any system. So, if a weapon or engine requires 2 power each, you can power a total of 6 of them because you can only put 12 power slots into the weapon group or engines. Now, with grav drives and shields, you can only equip one on a ship, BUT, if you have limited reactor output, maybe you’re better off with a shield that requires less power that you can then apply to weapons and engines. It’s the engines and weapons that you can equip multiple of, and so you have to determine how many you want to equip base don your reactor output. If your engines require 4 power each, but you only want to use 8 power on the engines, then only equip 2 of them, even though you COULD equip 3 of them. But then those three would require 12 power to be fully operational. Hope that makes sense.
As I understood it; your reactor has a total max number to be divided among the six columns slots; each slot holds a total of 12 "pips". Is that where you're getting the number 12 from? That makes sense now, since there's no reactor with a total max output of 72 (6x12=72) So if your reactor is say 40, you have to figure out what the max number of pips are for each subsystem and add them up and get them close to that 40, and balance the pips out between the three weapons, your shield, and your engines. Is that correct?@@WizeOldWizard
Additionally, as you're doing this, we have to pay attention to the Mass that is applied to these components we want to use in relation to power, because mass will effect our Mobility and Top speed..Is that right?@@WizeOldWizard (Christ, what a pain. 😩). 🤣
Interesting. But I would have updated the reactor too and used better weapons -- preferable those able to deliver more DPS than the ones you are using. If I remember well, there two neutron weapons that would be perfect for that.
At level 30, there aren’t better reactor options, especially with no ranks in Starship Design. Same with the weapons. My choices for this ship are the best available options at level 30 with no Starship Design. This wasn’t an endgame build. If you want to see a build with the best of everything, you should watch the Basilisk videos.
Actually I should have said this exact ship can be built at level 14 with no skills, so if you’re at 60 or above, go with whatever the best weapons/reactor/shield that you have available. Thanks for watching!
I play on Xbox so I can't do it, but on PC there is a mod called functional brigs. I guess if you subdue the bounty you are hunting, you have the option to send it to your brig and when you get to a city you can turn the prisoner over to security and it clears them out of your brig. Bethesda needs to make this happen natively.
@@DigitalChivalry I'm waiting to dive into mods until they release the creation kit. Currently they are hit-or-miss. I will definitely be installing that mod when the time is right though, thank you!
You capture the Blattodea? Unless you’re using mods I didn’t think that was possible. Good thing I loaded the save before that battle so I could go back and pester it again hahah.
Damn, that’s the first I’ve heard of that happening. It should either show up on the landing pad or be automatically added to your fleet. When you have the last convo of the whole questline with the Marshall, and he says you now have it, I remember running straight out to the landing pad and it was already spawned…
@WizeOldWizard for me, at the end of the last mission, he says, "Here's your badge. Wear it with pride, but don't forget the solemn responsibility it represents." Then "Let's hear it for our new Ranger!" Prompting Everyone to clap. Now from here all the videos i see show a grey prompt box pop up showing you unlocked the ship but that never happened for me.just a pop up on the top right showing me i got the badge and gear. I went to the ship vendor, and it wasn't in there. Nor on the landing pad big bummer
late but i would put those nova cowlings on the side to the front and fliip them to face forward then put those nova brakes behind them, it looks better that way
Nah I might never do an NG+ run in sitting on $14 million dollars , all custom built ships, every home fully decorated, every material in the game flowing abundantly, and just starting finding different unique planets to build on just for the views. NG+ I start from the bottom and lose everything I’ve worked for, NOPE!
Well of course hahaha, the Star Eagle is just a great ship and I didn’t want to do a scratch build replacement. The goal was to keep the “Star Eagle-ness” and take it up a notch. I’ll revisit the build in the future when there are good upgrades available so I can make it an endgame build. When I do that, maybe I’ll take it all the way apart and rebuild it from the ground up. Thanks for the continued support!
Choose a different hab that has one! The specific hab choices are up to you really. I do the same thing with my own builds after I’ve spent some time with them. The Basilisk is the best example of this, because when I built the Basilisk II, the interior was very different, but on the outside the ship was nearly identical to the original. Thanks for watching!
Now I listened to 42 seconds and I left that your best friend should slap your face and if you still refuse to listen, return to slapping your face until you pass out and I would say then kick you but as I understand it kicking you when your down is bad form and will get you arrested in this country. My point here is you do not need to completely redesign a ship to change the weapons and that isn't at all a reason to do a new build. Now I did like the Star Eagle a LOT and I like the Mantis as well. I fixed the mantis a little but I couldn't get what I wanted out of it on my rebuild that was from two others. So I know the star eagle with no changes would solve my current issue and that is lack of storage space, even if I'm not doing much yet.
Sorry To bother U With This Issue I'm Having But U Play On Xbox Right If So Could I Add U On Xbox And Chat With U Bout The Issue I'm Having That U Might Be Able To Help Me With
Unfortunately I do not even own an xbox, but you can join my discord server, or you can just detail your problem here and I’ll do my best to assist you. Nothin to be sorry about!
DOH! as this is the first ship I decided to build as I ranked up so fast crafting, I was struggling to use the ship builder.
@glyph2011 YES! Great success! At 49 you can tackle the Citadel too.
At level 60 you can change the ship to a Class B without any change to the layout. You then have a 39 power reactor available that is as big as a Class A. With that, you can put the same weapons on as you use in your Basilisk build. I would suggest upgrading the engines to good B class ones and of course the grav drive.
Why you be giving up my content ideas like that hahaha exactly what you said is already planned.
Thanks for watching again!
How do you make it a class B?
@@WizeOldWizard Oh, I'm sorry, it's from the fashion "hab"... in general, I myself compared the simple storeroom habs to fit there
... then I tried to put the usual engineering hubs there and they went in well, but I had to remove the front radiator as well, but I disguised the structure with three weapon mounting points and the section became invisible

@tassey thanks for sticking around! Got some new ships on the horizon too.
Without a doubt, this is the best Star Eagle upgrade out there! I built it and it’s my favorite galaxy-hopper.

Just finished building this one. Thankfully - I managed to acquire the money for it quicker than I thought - and it’s a cheaper build
Man… in reality the design changes you made are minor in the actual adjustments, but they make a HUGE visual difference. This thing looks so much better. And the hab info was perfect. Love having the single ladder
I did end up putting a B reactor on it for a bit of a boost.
I’ve been a “casual” player for a while - just enjoying the Bethesda Easter eggs and such for the mostly
But now that I’m on NG+ and finally hit level 60, it’s fun to mess with the ships more. I had one single ship build my last playthrough, and it was at the very end of the session. Now I’m at the beginning, so I’ll get to keep these for a while and I’m loving it
Just used your frontier guide and once I get the Star Eagle I’ll be upgrading it as well
Hoo boy you’re gonna love this ship!
Hey Wizard! Just built an Aetos! LOVE IT!!! Thank you for the design!!!

I’ve been waiting the Star Eagle II. You didn’t disappoint. Very well done!
Thank you!
No way, the Star Eagle design is amazing.
Do you have Sarah Morgan on your crew? She should allow you to get anywhere if you have Astrodynamics maxed.
Last time we talked about this you hit me with the spoiler warning.
Another great build
Thank you!
Ohhh lol I keep forgetting about the perks. The Hope Rev thrust only attach from the back.
@@javi691us that’s what I suspected, hence why I used a radiator in between the Stroud nose caps, so that I could attach the Nova braking engine to the radiator. I wanted some shape on the outside of the engines.
Dude! Nailed it again. That looks sick

Thank you! I thought so too.
I definitely need to do a showcase of engine performance somehow. Find the best ones in each class.

Great build, but that targetted module placement tip is top tier. I have hundreds of hours in this game and didn't know that.
I just learned that recently too, and I’m over 400 hours now. In our defense, the game says nothing about it. Hopefully it helps others, thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard There is soooo much this game doesn't tell the player, and soooo much misinformation out there about mechanics.

Thank you very much!
The only thing I add was portholes in certain places but besides that it a great design
Nice, thank you! I did the same thing when I upgraded this ship to Aetos II. Once I had all 6 engines there was a bit of room for a little extra mass. Mine is now Aetos III, with all the best level 60 parts.

Another great build Wizard, I think I’m going to buid this next NG+. How about a real challenge, see if you can sort the mess that is the Kepler R.
Oh you know I’m going to! That ship needs it the most, no doubt.
One man show or not, it's still a top notch production as always, well done! With an end result of a ship that everyone wants to have and fly. Sub n 👍

I did, but I also had rank four of Astrodynamics.
Wrong. You can specifically choose where to attach modules. You missed that part of the video apparently.
Jut trying to build this now. Don’t have many of the build options? Do I need to fully rank up ship design. . I’m thinking so.

The front weapons mount now sit in the firing path of the weapons behind them.
If I get the Razorleaf and make it my Home Ship, Where does all the Star Eagle cargo go that won't fit on the Razorleaf?
On the Razorleaf. You just won’t be able to put more stuff in it.

So after googling a bit, I ended up on Titan and tried to find this part in New Homestead. Not there either as far as I can tell.
Without watching you through screen sharing, which I can do through Discord if you want, that is the most help that I can provide you here.
I can add you on discord if you give me your username. Up to you.
Is there any way to get rid of the small gap between the top front structural angled piece and the cockpit? There’s a tiny gap right above the cockpit
With mods, you can maybe use something really slim in-between, but there’s no way to do anything in that space without mods.
Hey Wizard, thanks for all the videos, and we all appreciate your time, as little of it you have to put out your content. I'm curious if you (or anyone) can help me with a question regarding the Starborn Powers and leveling them up; (I was hoping you'd have a video on this already but a couple of other people I've subscribed to (UncleMumble for eg) has done one but no one has replied yet so I thought I'd take a chance here;
(SPOILERS AHEAD SO BE FORWARNED!!!!!!!!)
Any advice or insight into the leveling process would be greatly appreciated.
Philip
Ok so I’ll try to answer your question as succinctly as I can:
Personally I can’t offer a solution to the first problem of the marker not showing up, no clue there.
As for having different levels of power, you can still get them all to ten, you’ll just have to do an extra NG+ for the ones that need an extra level.
For clarity, here is my plan:
Complete the story in its entirety and reach roughly level 100, with every power, before starting NG+.
Don't have to sacrifice mobility, can run 1 or two more of those particular engines, max of 6
You’re right, of course. For me, I didn’t want to have to take four points of power away from my weapons just to have 12 more mobility. At this point in the game (I was level 30) no better reactor is available. Once there is, the ship will absolutely be upgraded to its full potential.
Wizzz Bro what a Kick Azzz build for the Star Eagle that TransFormed into the Star Pheonix ... hahahahaa Teeeheheee!
Thank you! I love this ship, while it’s not easy, I can pretty swiftly defeat ships that are 20 levels above my character.
Bro that Rockss! @@WizeOldWizard
@@WizeOldWizard Thanks for the guidance, as soon as I highlighted everything, I was able to button everything up.
@Ostegoletric perfect, glad to help, enjoy!
I prefer Auto particle beam weapons because:
A) They have some of the highest DPS of any weapon in the game.
B) That high DPS applies to shield AND hull equally.
C) They also have the highest range of any weapon other than missiles (3000m+)
I’ve got over 400 hours in Starfield. Most of what I do is ship building and ship combat. Hell I just gained 13 levels STRICTLY from ship combat in Aetos since I built it. Safe to say I have a good understanding of what works and what doesn’t.
@@WizeOldWizard Wow, I did not realize that, that is actually very smart. You just press all three buttons at once?
@@savemc6181 yes, and because I know they damage shield and hull, I know I can just unleash them all on any target regardless of whether they have shields up or not.
As a side note, you can also disable and board ships with these same weapons. You just have to make sure to do no damage to the ship you want until all other enemies are down, then target the engines and fire using ONLY the weakest weapon group. I always assign the weakest weapons to the third weapon group so I know which ones to use. Only works on ships near your level.
Why did you only put 4 of the Vanguard obliterators on there? They’re max power 2, so you can have 6 of them.
LOL
@@WizeOldWizard Does it mean your ships power says 27 and so your shield is 7, then your four particle beams is max power of 3 so 12, and your four Obliterators at max 2 x 4 so 8 which all equals 27? Then what about your third particle beam which is a max of three and you put 2 on your ship, and the engines? I'm confused 😩 🫣 😵💫
@@philipb2684 the game definitely does not make it clear but here’s how it works, and you can watch any of my build footage to verify this:
Every component that requires power has a ‘max power’ rating, and you can allot a maximum of 12 power to any system.

When you have the last convo of the whole questline with the Marshall, and he says you now have it, I remember running straight out to the landing pad and it was already spawned…
@WizeOldWizard for me, at the end of the last mission, he says, "Here's your badge. Wear it with pride, but don't forget the solemn responsibility it
represents." Then "Let's hear it for our new Ranger!" Prompting Everyone to clap. Now from here all the videos i see show a grey prompt box pop up showing you unlocked the ship but that never happened for me.just a pop up on the top right showing me i got the badge and gear. I went to the ship vendor, and it wasn't in there. Nor on the landing pad big bummer
late but i would put those nova cowlings on the side to the front and fliip them to face forward then put those nova brakes behind them, it looks better that way
But then the braking thruster will be firing directly into the cowling…
Nah I might never do an NG+ run in sitting on $14 million dollars , all custom built ships, every home fully decorated, every material in the game flowing abundantly, and just starting finding different unique planets to build on just for the views. NG+ I start from the bottom and lose everything I’ve worked for, NOPE!
I understand, I just feel bad now that you’ll have a hard time building the Aetos without the starting Star Eagle.
I wouldn’t if you just built it from scratch…I’m just saying 😊
Well of course hahaha, the Star Eagle is just a great ship and I didn’t want to do a scratch build replacement. The goal was to keep the “Star Eagle-ness” and take it up a notch. I’ll revisit the build in the future when there are good upgrades available so I can make it an endgame build. When I do that, maybe I’ll take it all the way apart and rebuild it from the ground up.
Thanks for the continued support!
No galley in that living quarters :(
Choose a different hab that has one!
Pardon me buster, but this is my channel. I’ll make a build whenever I want lolol.
