Continue to hold the throttle back after the ship comes to a stop. But what you see in my combat is using the thrusters to turn the ship and just holding the thruster button so the ship continues on the same trajectory and speed. Thruster turns are much faster, and once you disengage the thrusters the ship will fly normally again. Just keep in mind that it takes time for the ship to recover its speed once you release thrusters, so avoid turning 180 and then releasing the thrusters while in combat because you’ll be at a standstill for a moment before you start moving forward again. I'll have to add them as I see the don't change performance but add a slight increase in fuel. Along with the Astrodynamics perk, should make it almost possible to traverse the full galaxy map without stopping (at least not often). I should add that in currently level 29, so not able to build this version yet. But Aetos I is pretty sweet and definitely capable of handling anyone I've encountered so far. 👍

I didn’t change anything about the design, just an upgraded reactor and weapons that unlock at level 60. Be on the lookout for my next ship though, which you will likely enjoy. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed! As for the weapons, I would have happily used the 175 and the Exterminator 95MeV Autos but they’re not available until at least level 56 or thereabouts. This is a level 43 build.
You might need to flip glitch it, but I wonder if you could take the front radiators off of the inside of the wings and move the Nova braking engines into there? You could then delete the rear Nova wing pieces and have a somewhat slimmer/sleeker-looking ship (IMO). It would probably cut down on the mass a little bit too.
An eagle needs wings to fly, man. Haha but seriously you can absolutely make those changes if you build the ship. I didn’t want it to look like three sausages flying through space. Plus those radiators are key to the look I was going for, which was two huge engines on either side of the main fuselage. The radiators give the engines that “intake” detail.
@@kasper_429 I agree with that too, but in this case they don’t need to double as such for RP fictional function. The shape of the wing makes it look like there is some kind of ducting re-directing the thrust out of the front, that’s how I see it for this build.
Nice, balancing and optimizing ships is quite rewarding for me. I landed on nearly identical stats when I was optimizing the Basilisk. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic looking ship again my friend. Built the Basilisk recently using a shite Spacer ship (can’t recall its name but it looked pants) as the base. Didn’t want to dismantle the nice Razerleaf :) only issue is I’m level 40 so I’ve had to compromise a little on your spec…but I’m fully armed if only running with a 27 rated reactor, slightly less engines and a different choice of fuel cells. Otherwise pretty damned close and costed only 450k. An absolute beast. I’d like to build this new ship but not at the expense of my slightly modified Star Eagle (previous go to warship). Any recommendations for an alternative base ship to use instead of that?
The last point of Aneutronic Fusion so that I could equip a shield that requires 12 power. The impact from all the fun suckers will be invalid before too long. I played Fallout 76 from the beginning, through all the negativity bombing, and then quit playing when all the naysayers jumped on board. Starfield is a great game. If people don’t want to play because of someone else’s opinion, they’re the only ones missing out.
@@WizeOldWizard If you do kepler r, could you possibly try to make it lore friendly in that you try to cram or max out as much as possible in the ship.

@@WizeOldWizard I do! But no luck yet. Also the Starborn trader - I saw them once when I did the main quest at level 80ish but never again, and i'm at 139 now so probably anything I could buy is probably outdated now anyway.
OK, Maybe I can believe the words out of your mouth but at 0:35 I would like to voice my disgust at every word that spills from your mouth. I love my bite-sized ass-kicking ship I only dislike the storage capacity and I am bad at ship design and attempts to add storage break jump range and speed which makes me sad, but then I know as soon as I get the Star Angel life is fixed and life is perfect and maybe it's good I never have to fight you in battle.
Allow me to voice my confusion about the first part of this comment. Disgust? All I said was that the Aetos II is a significant upgrade to Aetos and therefore a huge upgrade to the Star Eagle. What is there to be disgusted about? I never said the ship was bad. I have built two bite-sized ass kicking ships, one of which has the same cargo capacity as Aetos II but in a more compact package. That’s the Helion. As for the second part of your comment, I agree with you, the Star Eagle is one of the best base ships in the game, so when I set out to improve it, my intent was not to change the whole ship, but rather to turn it up a notch, make it an even more badass version of the ship and retain some of the design elements that make it look so great. The base Star Eagle is far from perfect, otherwise I wouldn’t have had any reason to make two whole videos about it.
@WizeOldWizard mostly just all the loading screens. I've been playing BSG games since Skyrim and I don't remember a time where there was so many. The lack of diversity in companions. FFS Sara is displeased if YOU pick up to many things. The 1000÷ planets thing is cool in theory if there's enough to do. Imo it feels like they sprinkled 50-100 planets worth of stuff across 1000 Most of the other bugs are pretty standard for BSG games, just with all the hype they put around it I was expecting a more polished complete game. Hopefully they get it right with ES6. It seems like Starfield was the fix, and ES6 is the overdose
@@ghengisdong6714 oh yeah no worries there man, I’m happy you like the builds but I don’t expect everyone to like them either way. I get the frustration, the load screens are a pain for sure because the game requires so much travel. I do wish they would have found a way to cut SOME of them but hey, I’ll still find the fun in-between the load time. Far from a perfect or groundbreaking game and they REALLY need ground vehicles to decrease travel time between locations on planets. Imagine deployable hover bikes or even just giving our jump packs more functionality so we could fly around. Any solution for that would be a huge win.
@WizeOldWizard for sure, I get that some are necessary, but a cutscene to enter the ship, for a 5-10 second walk to the cockpit, another cutscene. I would love to be able to take off from the planet. And enter its orbit, having to grav jump is fine, but not being able to explore the system you're in without a cutscene traveling from planet to planet is a bit much. Outside of all the traveling cutscene's I just wish there was more to explore on each planet.

My Kepler R and my Star eagle based ships are the best I can do. My Kepler has a mobility of 100 30 light year jump and nearly 4K cargo.
Anything would work honestly, you’ll just have to duplicate the parts of the Star Eagle that I did not change.
Thanks for watching!
Since you're using a class B/C reactor, ditch the default shield for the vanguard one
The Vanguard shield isn’t as good as the 28t defender, though it might be lighter I can’t remember mass ratings right now.
i see you went with the pb 100's and not the 175s...was this for a different feel or did i miss something?
The PB-175’s are cannon-type, non-auto particle beams. At level 43, the PBO-175’s have not been unlocked yet.
is there a big difference between 99 mobility and 100?
No, but if you want 100 mobility, only put one of those fuel tanks on it and leave the other side as the nova mid bracer. Should get you to 100.
saw you used a skill point -where did u do that and when? tx
So sad this game got review bombed, there is so Much to enjoy.
Kepler R redesign next?
Possibly… there is another guide that I should make soon also that would be a massive benefit to my playthrough, we’ll see.
Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard If you do kepler r, could you possibly try to make it lore friendly in that you try to cram or max out as much as possible in the ship.
@@savemc6181 You mean like the whole 'Kitchen Sink' approach the Stroud Eklund employees refer to?
@@WizeOldWizard Yeah, I really like the concept of cramming everything.
@savemc6181 sounds good in theory, but in practice that sounds like a slippery slope.
No Particle Beam skills for you? Wouldn't that increase your damage output for the Obliterators etc? 🤔
Of course, but I needed Starship Design rank 4 to unlock the higher performing stuff first. Built at level 43.
Ohhhhh yeeaaaahhhh... I forgot. Sowwies!😬@@WizeOldWizard
Anyone else deal with an exiting your ship bug? Every time I exit my ship now it places me over 3500M away from my ship. Not playable at all. When I get home tonight I'll have to see if I have an available save game to load. NG+3 (or 4?) skipping the main campaign and this is what I run into....😭
Damn I’ve not seen nor heard of this, much less experienced it myself… What a pain. As if the distance we’re already forced to walk wasn’t enough.
Exactly Just all of a sudden, after getting the Razerleaf after the Mantis mission, POOF! I go back to Cheyanne, to start the Freestar mission on the farm and I am 3600M away from the farm and about two miles in the air LOL. I was searching online for possible workarounds while looping myself fall to the ground and dying each time and loading back in high in the air in a loop. Good times@@WizeOldWizard
Think of how muscular our characters legs must be from all the walking and running lol 😂@@WizeOldWizard
We are definitely not skipping leg day!
I still have to find any legendary encounter at level 139. 😕
Just visit every ship marker you find in every system you visit. I didn’t find any in my first playthrough.
@@WizeOldWizard I do! But no luck yet. Also the Starborn trader - I saw them once when I did the main quest at level 80ish but never again, and i'm at 139 now so probably anything I could buy is probably outdated now anyway.
Do you have a discord? I’d like to send you pics so you can rate my ship.
I am working on building a server for the channel. As soon as it’s done I’ll be putting the link on my channel homepage for sure!
Why do you keep doing this to me?! I can’t make this one.
Hahaha man I know it must hurt. You’ll start a new playthrough some time and by then I might have ten new ships for you!
Beauty if a ship.. shame this game was such a disappointment
Why are you disappointed in the game?
@WizeOldWizard mostly just all the loading screens. I've been playing BSG games since Skyrim and I don't remember a time where there was so many.
The lack of diversity in companions. FFS Sara is displeased if YOU pick up to many things.
The 1000÷ planets thing is cool in theory if there's enough to do. Imo it feels like they sprinkled 50-100 planets worth of stuff across 1000
Most of the other bugs are pretty standard for BSG games, just with all the hype they put around it I was expecting a more polished complete game.
Hopefully they get it right with ES6. It seems like Starfield was the fix, and ES6 is the overdose
@WizeOldWizard not taking away from your ship builds, when I did play I ricked the bristleback, that was super fun lol.
