Hey I followed the build almost perfectly, had to use 4 engines instead of 6, but after completing everything it still says I have unattached ship modules? Did I do something wrong?
@@WizeOldWizard I will give it a shot. I had to take a break so I left my Xbox and the entire built ship waiting because I can’t bear to erase all that work! The less engine thing is because I am still too low ranked and haven’t been able to access the maximum level of reactor for the build. The character Im using is at 41. I finished the game with one character but then went through Unity and lost all my credits, etc so Ive been using my Freestar Ranger character “Radiant” Rey Mikami, Neon Street Rat, and bounty hunter. The Atos refit was perfect for him & Andreja (I got them hitched). My penchant for creating multiple characters to role play as has sometimes gotten in the way of leveling up as quickly as I would normally. But your vids have been beyond helpful for learning how to build ships and outposts. My first play through I steered away from building at all because it felt too complicated to grasp but your channel has been the best tutorial for figuring this stuff out! Cheers!
@langleymneely gotcha, well if that’s what you have to do then that’s what you have to do. Once you hit 49 you can change your reactor and add the engines, and at level 60 you can upgrade your reactor again and install the best weapons.
Same, and every in-game ship, if it has more than a few habs, is a nightmarish and senseless layout. Each of my ships is designed sensibly so that it is easy to orient yourself and recognize where you’re at. Another tip if you weren’t already aware: when inside of a ship, your compass ‘north’ points to the nose of the ship. Took me a while to figure that one out.
DUDE - the window to the core is freaking amazing. I love your builds. There are some things I would change for pragmatism and aesthetic personal preference, but I really like the way you construct the internals from an RP perspective and will be following them 1 for 1. The changes I would make are seriously minimal. Great job, man. Keep it up.
Right? It’s even cooler when you consider what several other commenters have suggested. Apparently, when you place the Armillary on your ship, it is visible inside of the grav drive. So if you switch the positions of the reactor and grav drive, the armillary would be visible from the core window! I’ll be doing that when I reach level 60 and unlock the Pinch 8z reactor. Really appreciate your feedback, and I never expect anyone to like every decision that I make. There are so many combinations of parts and ways to shape the ship, absolutely make any changes that you like to see! They’re meant as inspiration, so even if that’s all you get from it, I’m happy to provide that for you. Thanks for watching! Hope you’ll be sticking around.
Great timing then! Either ship can be built from anything, but the Citadel was intended to be a redesign of the Kepler. Makes the most sense to build this instead of the Bristleback. I definitely still recommend the Bristleback for its cargo hauling ability, but maybe build that to replace the UC Prison Shuttle or something. Thank you for the continued support!
He is indeed. The man is an architect! This definitely looks better than the Bristleback too. Also I’m finding I have over 7700 cargo….not sure why? I’ll take it though 👍😎
@@DAZZMCMXCVIIII looking better is subjective. The Basilisk was meant to be lighter and faster, whereas the Citadel is definitely closer to a destroyer-class. Thanks for the kind words! More content to come, I just have limited time available.
Love the calm, laidback, pleasant narration. Easy to listen to and not obnoxious. Great job ! 10/10. Straight forward, no nonsense content. Well done Sir. Subscribed and liked.
Welcome, glad to have you on board! Coming up soon I’m working on some advanced outpost building, more fps combat, two new ships, a crew guide, and maybe even a space combat tutorial. Working on a discord server as well. The lack of uploads definitely does not mean that I’m not working!
This ship is awesome! For RP reasons I wanted to have my Kepler R become the new Constellation ship, something the entire group could use, like a mobile base. This fit perfectly with what I was picturing (with only a couple minor tweaks for personal preference, like a forward facing bay and a couple hab swaps like the Nova Galactic Armory for the captain's quarters since it had manaquins). I also kept the Vanguard and PBO-175 particle beams (they're more than enough to wreck most ships in a couple seconds), but dropped the other for the EMP- 1000 Suppressors since I like boarding ships sometimes and I can save on reactor power by just not powering them up unless I intend to board. Thanks for sharing your builds!
Sounds like you made some pretty cool changes, thanks for watching and building! FYI, if you’d like to share with myself and others what you build, you’re welcome to join my Discord, where you can freely share photos and talk about anything related to Starfield. The invite link is on my homepage!
So I was skeptical on this ship build. But hot dam. It shreds any ship that goes against it and the video is very easy to follow. Thank wizard for this video. 🎉
I made the ship and its amazing and everything.... but what i really want to thank you for is the explanations. I feel like i have 10000% more insight into how the game works having seen this video than I did from my 250+ hour playing the game.
I’m happy to have helped you gain a better understanding of the in-game mechanics. Aside from providing inspiration, offering valuable and helpful insight is my other main goal with these guides. Thank you for watching!
You're going to love this one and, in fact, if you decrease the cargo capacity, this ship will fly exactly like the Basilisk, but with a much more roomy interior. Thanks for watching again!
14.3 million credits spent on shipbuilder across 7 playthroughs... all because of your 🔥builds! Thank you again! Just great work as always! Im so happy you used the habs this way, for you and for the crew, i feel that for the roleplay, it works well! i wanted to see a ship like this, but wait... you added an actual stove! Finallyyyy! hahahahahaha maaaaan i find it hillarious when you said dont freak out and then you deleted it all! For anyone who hasnt used the ship builder they must be like oh my gosh he just wasted my time! 10/10 will build
That's a lot of scratch! Very happy that I've been able to excite players just based on the ships that I've built. Thanks for your support, and I can't wait to hear the feedback. Cheers!
@@WizeOldWizard hey man, do you also play starfield on pc? cus if you do........ i think there is something, or will be something that i think you would like, and well i think that we would love to watch you complete/participate in that activity/mission... its called 'astroneer', a mod on pc that you get quests to customize/build different types of ships and get new ships through the mod! personally i would love to see you doing that ;)
I am on PC and that mod sounds awesome! I’ll definitely have to look into that. Was also thinking about increasing my fleet capacity to 50 with the mod that does that… maybe I’ll save that for my final NG+, we’ll see. Thanks for the tip!
hey im rebuilding this ship again but i keep running into the same issue i had previously... i changed the hab manufacturer for some habs such as the battle stations 2x2 and the engineering bay 3x1... but i didnt put a different 3x1 on the ship. both 3x1 are engineering bays so maybe thats the issue but even when i switched it i still had the issue... i have ladders in the left and right engineering bays, one leading up and on the other side down... i deleted the ship and rebuilt it, or i tried my best but i still get the ladders... and you dont have any other ladders... and its frustrating me now cus its not a smooth 'tour' lol help?
Absolutely great idea to show off the shield. I will add, if you can figure out a way to swap the reactor abd grav drive (and get a more open concept grav drive) you could show off the Armillary at the same time. Especially if you add portholes on the surrounding hab modules in addition to the rear facing one. Excellent build and i already have a good chunk of the base built for a separate build i was attempting, but its being changed straight to this. I'm level 66 with Starship 4 already so I'll be back when I have it built to detail any personal touches i make. Absolutely love your work.
Hey Wizard, Just built this guy yesterday and I must say, new favorite ship. In past game play throughs I have always relied on pirating a ship from pirates or especially Va'ruun and then customizing them for how I play. I gave that up the other day as the game has a nasty habit of bugging out those ships after many hours of play. I built the Citadel because my current highly customized Va'ruun Revelation II decided to disappear from the landing pad or any ship tech once I made a modification to it. I am now going to solely rely on your rebuilds of existing ships you already own in the game. So kudos to you and your well thought out and explained designs. Oh and I do love the little window into the reactor/shield room. I keep stopping to look at it as I navigate inside the ship. Very good role playing ship design. I have been on the lookout for pool balls for the pool table since they are missing it appears so maybe that's why the crew doesn't use it. We will see. lol
New favorite? Hell yeah man, thanks for watching! The Scythe or the Helion would make great fighter ship companions for the Citadel… I’ve seen pool balls and cue sticks spawn at random. Not sure if it changes each time you make a change in the builder or each time you enter the ship…
Hey Wizard. Just for your info with regards to NG+, if you choose to skip the main quest and jump to artifact hunting, you will not receive the Kepler-R quest and thus will not gain access to the special engines. My latest NG+ was a surprise it being the Cora Coe as a Starborn beginning. No Constellation members so I will have to buy my crew this time around. I am going to attempt this build without the Kepler-R to start with. Any advice?
@shanelowe5278 just as an FYI, the 6830’s are not rewarded from Overdesigned (which is a side quest) but rather as part of a main quest: All That Money Can Buy. You may still be able to get the Kepler R, but don’t quote me on that… All I can say is, start with any ship you wish, follow the guide, and instead of using 6830’s, you’ll have to use 6330’s and then just tune the balance of cargo/weight to your liking.
...on NG+6 and just built it again for this play through as my go-to for endgame big ship. I have, for the first time on this run, changed from normal difficulty to Very Hard and boy, space battles in Serpentus sure became a lot more interesting. 😮 I just love this ship.❤
@shanelowe5278 oh shit yeah! Normal to Very Hard is quite the jump, but it will make you a better pilot. Oh and btw, I’m doing something special for 5k subs…
Loving the builds and the way you present them. Makes it easy to replicate. I also appreciate that you keep it vanilla for us console players. I built a Basilisk but it ended up with some of my own flair and it's currently my flagship of my 3 ship fleet. I also have a mid size all rounder b class and a c class small fighter. Any of them could be used exclusively, although the small fighter is lite on cargo, but it's manageable. All three inspired by your content. Thank you so much for your passion and content and attention to detail, it really helps with building. Please accept these paltry 60000 thumbs up!
I will happily accept any number of thumbs up, there is definitely more to come as I’ve only built half of a fleet so far and I at least want to have a full fleet of incredible ships. Thank you for your support and engagement!
I just built this today. Nice job!! I ended up with a ladder in the back of engineering I can't seem to get rid of, but overall very happy with how this came out. Keep up the good work.
I’m finding that the 3x1 habs cause a lot of issues with ladder placement. The game seems to prioritize connecting to them. I solved it by deleting the 3x1 and reattaching it. You may have to go a little further too though… delete the 3x1’s, leave the builder, save, and load the save. Then reenter the builder and reattach the 3x1’s.
@@WizeOldWizard Good idea. I'll give it a shot. Just built another from scratch..... "The Hawk"..... Kind of a Y-wing style, but I really like how the Habs laid out.
I followed your build but made a few changes, when you said the entry ramp was inconvenient, and didn't work properly flipped around, I went ahead and made that change after completion. Flipping the ramp to the front, placing it right under the ladder worked perfectly and now easier to enter. Had to add the window to the core BTW. If you get a chance to do the crimson fleet mission, you can then add the ComSpike and Conduction Grid. I made sure to add them to all my ships before finishing the quest.
The landing bay works just fine in the forward orientation, I just disliked how the small ladder that protrudes up into the ship blocked the path from armory to science lab. Of course you can work around that, but for me, I also like entering the ship and walking straight through the cargo hall to the ladder, instead of spawning in facing the rear of the ship and being forced to spin around to access the ladder. Personal preference. I may be mistaken on this one, but in my previous playthrough, I completed the CF questline and was still able to attach those special modules on my ship. It’s been a while since then so don’t quote me on it, but maybe they are available after based on who you side with? I stayed loyal to the Fleet…
Another great build. I built the Basilisk when it first came out then started another play through. Built a second one from memory. Not exact but very close and have been using it for many levels. My favorite ship. I'm not much into big ships but this one calls to me. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
My pleasure! For what it's worth, the Basilisk is also a big ship, just in a different way. I wanted to keep the profile of the Basilisk slim, so I minimized the height of that build and made it wide and low. Whereas the Citadel is tall and long and I was not concerned with being low-profile. Although they are similar in performance, one does not replace the other and they can exist side-by-side in your fleet and serve different purposes. Now that I've built this I will probably lighten the Basilisk so it can be a more dedicated combat ship.
It's great to have a build for each of the main free ships; Frontier, Star Eagle, Razorleaf, Kepler R especially looking at them from the perspective of leveling when doing a new playthrough Subscribed!
@@WizeOldWizard the Valentine is the only one off the top of my head that is worth stealing of the named ships you can take. Honestly, between the Kepler R, Razorleaf and Star Eagle, you have a great Fleet to use for the whole game. You can make vendor-specific ships (Nova, SE, Deimos, Taiyo or Hopetech), Class A, B & C, or Fighter, Cargo, or an All-rounder
@MegaGeministar I don’t disagree, but I won’t be satisfied until I’ve got 10 solid builds to fill an entire fleet. There are a number of rare ship encounters out there that people try to find, one being the Trader Highlander for example. So I think now I’m going to try to find 5 rare ships to redesign, then I’ll move on to NG+. Appreciate the feedback!
@@WizeOldWizard I really like your Starfield content, your attention to detail makes following along easy. One of the things I ran into when starting a new character; what upgrades I could do and when. Early on, the Star Eagle is a fantastic ship and tweaking it a bit (shield, reactor, weapons, grav drive?) was something I looked for guidance on. I think taking an early ship like the Razorleaf, Frontier and/or Star Eagle and showing how to slowly upgrade them (without wasting too many credits) to be good for Class A, B or C would be a great topic!
@@MegaGeministar thank you very much! I actually have done what you suggested, and there’s a chapter in this video that summarizes it. I started a new playthrough exactly for that purpose. I will be back on level 60 builds soon, and I need to come up with 5 more to complete an entire fleet.
Great video, taught me how to ship build, thank you. Converted the Kepler R at Level 31 and had to make a few tweaks but it was doable. Had to swap out the Assurance 1800 for a class B Vanguard shield that looks like a Xmas Pudding but it was almost as powerful, although as I've hit Starship Engineering 4 I've upgraded it. Going to watch the Star Eagle and Outpost guides next.
Fantastic, glad I could help! The level requirements are mainly for weapons and reactors and such, so any of these builds can be completed at different levels. It just requires alternative modules for core components. Aetos is perfect for your level, and the Outpost guide shows you one way to make credits real easy. Thanks for watching!
I'm not a big fan of the huge ships with all of their wasted space and what is usually a maze-like interior, but I really like this build and may have to give it a shot! Great video, keep these up.
I was the same way and that was a big reason for building this ship. I wanted to build something with every hab type available without the layout being a maze. Personally, I think this interior is excellent and easy to navigate despite having so many interior spaces. As someone who tends to shy away from large ships, I'm especially curious to get your feedback on this build. Please let me know what you think if you build it. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Oh man ya’ll were fighting because of me? Well she was definitely right! In all seriousness you can still build this one over any ship, you just won’t get the spacer interactions. This is definitely the funnest ship to fly that I have built.
I am just building all your ships, and maybe tweaking them a bit to my taste, but having you builds are a great staring point for me, tbh I don't change much, so thanks for all your videos.
Awesome vid again Wiz. I so enjoy these now and the attention to detail on explanations. This is so great for new players. Going to have to build one of these ... after I save up some credits. Those engines are so expensive, even with Rank 4 Commerce.
Thank you very much for the kind words! Those engines are intensely expensive but thankfully they allow builds like this and the Basilisk. Worth it in the end, and they'll never be replaced. Buy once, cry once as they say. Thanks for watching again!
I can't say I love these designs with the arms protruding forward, personal preference. I will build this because it is done beautifully as well as the video . Thanks for sharing and once again great job!
Design is a subjective matter, no two people have the same preferences for everything. That said, the intent was to look more like a groove cut into the hull that acts as the "barrel" of a huge ship-based energy railgun. I refer to them as arms in the footage for ease of understanding but the massively oversized barrel is what I was going for. Think of it like that and now you don't have a ship with 'arms'. Thanks for watching!
Just completed it. Nive ship and easily navigated. I swapped the brig and quarters 2x2 as the door took my sofa by the TV. I may of done something wring as I dont really understand connection point manipulation. Went together nicely nust as you explained. The shield area is a nice touch, too bad its a bit dark in there though. Tganks again for sharing, appreciate it.
If you're on keyboard, hover your cursor over the desired attachment point where you want a hatch to be, press G, and the menu will pop up with every module that will attach to that point. On xbox, you can do the same thing as the G key by holding both triggers and pressing the A button. In this way, you can choose where doors and ladders go, but it isn't completely reliable. Sometimes, as you've seen in this build, where you want the hab to go isn't where the game places it, and sometimes despite choosing a spot and having the hab in the correct position, the game will choose a different door location. You've got to play with the mechanic a bit to get a good grasp of it. By the way, I used the same methods in the Aetos II build, so if you want to see that in use on another ship, I'd recommend watching that one too.
First time seeing your content and your tutorial is very straightforward compared to some other ship building videos I have seen! You have yourself a new subscription, thanks for the work you do!😊 4:44
Only reason I don’t use mods like that yet is that the console players would shit out of luck. I can’t rightfully leave them all hanging, and I can’t wait until they have mods too.
Great build, thank you! I changed my grav drive and reactor to the J-52 and SF40, swapped their positions, and the ship is just short enough to put the Nova braking engines in the front and it still looks cool on the interior window. Above that shield generator might be a fun place to put a scan jammer or comspike or EM grid but you’d need an equipment plate.
Oh hell yeah I was hoping that change would allow for a touch more length on the nose. When I gain access to the comspike and conduction grid I’m already going to have to sacrifice two existing parts. Going to have to try to consolidate somewhere to gain the module slots. And at that point I’ll probably just plug them into existing attachment points like I did with the jammer. Thanks for watching!
I like your builds! Fine made with good ideas. I've learnd to build big cargo ships. But my favorite ships are still the Mantis, tuned by 180 speed and class C modules. All I need is a Workshop just behind the entrance. ... Thanks for your work here!😊
Is that a build request? Or are you referring to the Scythe? You may be interested in the upgrades (thanks to a few choice mods) I’m making to some of my current ships before I enter the Unity…
Superb work, I had been enjoying your previous C class destroyer the Basilisk but I am eager to try this! I do enjoy that the overall back profile is tighter, it seems to block your view a lot less often. Well done!
Definitely allows for better side visibility, but the Basilisk’s low profile keeps the ship lower on the screen which improves visibility in its own way. Both ships are great, the Citadel just has an awesome and expansive interior space compared to the Basilisk. Thanks for watching!
I too renovated my Kepler R into something more suitable that Walter would be impressed by. Though my build was slimmer than yours and i was able to maintain 100 mobility with just over 4k cargo capacity (in addition i have max Payload rank and Sam Coe onboard.) I took aesthetic influence from the S-E Roanoke, Stormrider and Vindicator to fit in with the idea that Frank, from the design team, had in mind. Of course, my build used more of the high-end parts thanks to Starship Design max rank and being level 60 as well as the special SAL-6830 engines you get after the All the Money can Buy mission (i was over level 60 when i finally got around to doing the overdesigned quest.) There is space to add more cargo, but I'd have to add another 6830 to maintain 100 mobility. I wish Bethesda could have that quest been more immersive if they had allowed us to design the Kepler starship as long as we met certain thresholds that the design team had in mind for the 'kitchen sink' budget, like at least two weapon types equipped, four or more passenger slots, over 27 grav jump thrust, over 3k cargo capacity (without investment into Payload skill), and being over 80k in value (for the gold trim.)
I have a large cargo ship that I may convert into this build. I love the expansive habs and the separated captains armory and workshop concept. The engine arrangement looks great as well.
Do you have the Kepler R yet? If you already have a cargo hauler, might I suggest replacing that with the Bristleback and building the Citadel to replace your Kepler. The Bristleback has 66k capacity, so with Payloads rank 4 it can carry 100k…
incredible ship build skills thank you for the well paced and reasoned instructions so you not only show how to build the ship but why it's built or why things are in the spots they are...i wish i had skills like that,
Thank you very much, and you’re exactly the type of viewer that I’m targeting. My whole motivation behind these builds is to help/inspire players to learn the ship builder and showcase what is possible. If you build anything of my design, I love getting feedback on the build itself. So if you build something, please feel free to offer your opinion on the choices that I’ve made, I welcome the engagement and insight as my ideas are not always the best ideas. And also, thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard I have a very hard time following build instructions 1x1 because there's a lot of other things i don't know how to do like I have never done an outpost so don't have a landing pad and all that so i fly around to staryards...but engines, I'm wondering why you go with those, when the poseidon engines do far more and you only need two? mine is at 130 max base speed with a 100 mobility with the two poseidon. I assume it's a style choice? your engines look a lot better but mine are a lot quieter so was just curious. ohh i also put the com spike and the conductor on mine (i went crimson this playthrough (second time around)
@@MadShepard I do have an outpost guide, might be helpful for you. Regarding engines, what you’re describing is impossible, 6x SAL-6830 have the most maneuvering thrust in the game, and with only 2 out of 3 poseidons, the mass of your ship would have to be much less. What is the mass of your ship?
@@WizeOldWizard ohh right i know mine is far less heavy i'm trying to design my own ship based from the bigrig II my mas is only 1367 because i traded cargo for speed and agility...apologies i didn't mean to imply i was copying you're ship I was more curious as to why you prefer those engines I was trying to upload a picture of it so far but youtube doesn't let me do that i guess. and i will of course watch your outpost video too, I subbed because of this video :D
@@MadShepard Oh dude no worries if you want to build any of my ships as exact copies, I post them for people to build or to just take inspiration from. However the content helps you is cool with me!
Awesome build, I’ll likely replicate this at some point. I too have done a window into the reactor/grav dive area of the ship and once you build the armillary it gets even cooler because it lights up and you can see it inside
(WARNING: CRITICAL COMMENT BELOW) Just some tips... I've watched several of your videos and I must say that I LOVE your builds. However; I have also watched other builders and their formats for the videos are a bit better. I think it would help your channel a lot if you managed to keep all of your content to a max of 25-30 minutes. You do a lot, and say a lot that could be edited out. Viewers are keen on watching the build. You don't have to show yourself skipping around the galaxy for parts. To simplify your methods you can do the following. It's a nice format when builders have all of the parts laid out already in the construction area. Then put them together describing what they are and where from before/during the assembly process. Be like, okay so here are the parts you need. You could even type them all down and just show the list of parts and that way people could pause and grab the parts. And be ready to build along with you before you even begin. Then the building process is seamless, direct and concise. Would save a bunch of time and I think the average viewer would then sub you and watch your entire series. Because right now I highly doubt they are. Hopefully you consider some of my tips as they are meant to be constructive. Again I love your designs. Keep up the great work!
Some people say I move too fast, some say I move too slow. Can’t make everyone happy. This is also an older video, and I no longer do the part-hopping thanks to mods. Part of doing that was to show other players the various locations where certain parts can be found. As for the length, it’s simply a result of the magnitude of some builds. The big ships, even when I trim out the menu scrolling and dead shots, just take a long time to build. Can’t cut those down to 30 minutes. My smaller builds are different though and I have a few that are around 30 minutes long, but my videos are not just builds, they also include full interior tours and combat showcases. Sometimes those chapters take nearly as long as the builds themselves. I appreciate your intentions in offering your opinion as a form of constructive criticism. Watch my more recent builds if you want to see how I have progressed since this one. Thanks!
41:29 Good choice for the mess hall. Military messes are not just places to eat - they're for socialising and recreation. When I was in the Aus Army (and also visited many air force bases given I was a pilot) every mess had something similar to this mess hab - TV, lounge, billiard table/table tennis... they're places to relax and be human.
Very cool, now I just wish the game would make my crew favor those bigger living spaces, but they tend to squeeze themselves into the smaller habs for no apparent reason haha. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!
Thanks for creating another great build for us to watch! I really like your style when building your ships. If you ever have time and are wondering on what to build next maybe consider going against all of your regular rules and building something “strange.” I would love to see what you come up with! Or maybe build one of your favorite ships from another sci-fi world? Looking forward to more content!
My pleasure, thanks for watching another one! I have been considering doing some off-the-wall or just over the top ships, lots of possibilities. Not sure about replicating ships from other scifi universes, I’ve seen lots of that already and it feels a little gimmicky.
Pretty awesome how you got every hab in there with a really nice layout. I’ll probably build this at some point. Maybe just try to get a forward facing landing bay, change the reactor and grav drive position’s just to be able to see the armillary thru that porthole by the shield, and change that nova cowling on top of the bridge. Cant wait to see what you come up with next. The aegis was one of the most unique ships I think I’ve seen in this game. I think you captured that matrix theme about as well as you could have
I swapped my reactor and grav drive when I hit level 60, thanks to those that commented on this to let me know about the armillary. I wasn’t aware of that before and man it is a cool feature! It’s too bad I couldn’t include that on the Aegis, it needed to be kept as minimal as possible to hit those proportions. Thank you very much for your support!
Hell yeah! When you’re in the mood for single-player, Starfield has a lot of potential hours of fun. It is, of course, a bit different from previous Bethesda titles, but if you’ve ever played their other games, I don’t see how you could simply hate this one. I hit 500 hours without even trying, and now I’m well beyond that. Cheers!
Another fine build guide here wizard! Just recently completed a build following your guide to turn my Kepler into this. I’ve kept it pretty bang on to your guide but slightly different strategy for the colour scheme and I’ve named her Kepler SRi in homage to the Vauxhall SRi badging (had the SRi 130 in my younger years😊). My god this is a beast of a ship. Basilisk is now second best …for the time being :p Now need to earn credits as I’m almost broke!
Thank you man, glad you like it! If you need a good way to easily stack credits, build the Vytinium mine in my Outpost guide. It’s not the most profitable endeavor but it is very easy to set up, and you can just sleep to let the storages fill. Cheers!
Finally!! What are doing working a day job! I’ve been waiting since two builds ago man. Finally a scratch build no more non scratch builds, I sell everything that’s not one of your builds. Soooo scratch only from here on out
I agree, I think the way I approached this one will work best for everyone's situation. The Citadel was meant to be a re-design of the Kepler R but you can still build this the same way that I did with any other ship. I'll probably maintain this approach going forward. As for the day job, it's a necessity until my youtube income outpaces my career. IF that ever happens. Trust me, I would much prefer to do this full-time, so keep the engagement coming! You've been one of my most engaging viewers, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support!
@@otissanders2624 well I’m grateful to have viewers like you, and because of viewers like you I’m going to keep the content flowing. Have a great day man!
This is my second build I followed you on. I made a couple of changes but minor. I put the Caravel 103 shielded cargo instead of the aft lower wings and radiators instead of the Hope Tech Mids so it looks similar to the Chimera III
That's a really cool build, kudos. I haven't seen the videos, but I think your other designs are good looking vessels as well. I spend more time in the ship builder than the rest of the game I think, but I'm still not as familiar with the habs and modules as you seem to be. Thanks for the vids and keep up the good work!
I got it build with the break engines, with no problems. I hat just to flip and attach the break engines to the cowlings left and right. I also did the front entrée with having the ladder right on top of the entrée hatch. Amazing video though. It cost me a night and a day sleep to rebuild it , lol.
The issue with that was two-fold. Because I built this at level 49, my best available reactor was a Fusor model, and those take up a full unit of length. Having that in the very back of the ship made it so the Nova braking engines just barely pass the 80m max length. At level 60 you can upgrade the reactor to a Pinch 8z which is slightly shy of full length, so you can then use the Nova brakes without surpassing max length. I tried it myself and wound up preferring the Stroud brakes anyway haha. As for the landing bay position, that’s all preference. When using a ladder-entry bay you always spawn in the ship facing forward. That and the ladder that protrudes up into the cargo hall in forward position obscures the lateral footpath inside of the cargo hall. If that doesn’t bother you then there’s no reason not to put it there. Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much good sir! I love that core window too, and several have commented that if you place the grav drive behind the shield and move the reactor to the very rear, the Armillary is then visible in the grav drive when you have it on your ship. I'll be doing that when I hit level 60 for sure. Thanks for watching again!
Thank you! I think this is my best build yet, so I hope you enjoy it! As always, please share your feedback if you build it, my viewer's opinions are very valuable to me.
👏🏾👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾 Another successful build! As I said before I took a previous large ship and built around it. Still spent a lot, but certainly not 700k as I had some of the modules! I just finished building as I type this; haven't flight tested her, but the layout is easy to follow. This is a Sovereign-class starship for sure. With my payload buffs I'm at 9.4k cargo. I wonder if a couple of the Poseidon engines will push the mobility to 100.
These engines have the highest maneuvering thrust in the game, by a long shot. This is the most mobility you’ll get aside from shedding some weight. Also, if you’re at level 60, ignore my reactor choice, use the Pinch 8z, and use the same weapons from the Scythe and Helion.
@@WizeOldWizard Update: I love the Cabot bridge; more visibility. I installed a Deimos companion way, shifted the weapons a station forward, then the Cabot bridge. It did put an extra ladder in the battle bridge, but I could live with that.
@pdexBigTeacher Cabot goes on the Basilisk, and now you’ve taken away the best part of the KonTiki bridge with the Citadel: in first person you can look right down to the ground through the gap in the ship! That was a major design consideration. Not to mention the KonTiki attaches perfectly to the top of the ladder shaft. But hey! It’s your ship now, and you’re free to modify it!
@@WizeOldWizard Indeed it did attach perfectly. I like the seat set up, but the flat-front visibility is almost claustrophobic for me. I gained a pip in mobility by removing the Nova cowlings. Still a great ship.
If you like it, that’s all that matters! You’re going to love the next ship. It will closely follow the outpost build that I’m nearly finished editing.
Dude, I love this!. I have the credits & am of level but been putting off quests til they fix stuff. Just been running Vanguard radiant quests in a beefed up Shieldbreaker but really want a massive ship with a full crew
If you don't have a good source of credits yet, my Outpost guide can show you where to build a Vytinium mine which, in my opinion, is the best credit farm because it is one of the easiest to setup.
@WizeOldWizard I'll check it out. I still haven't built my first outpost yet either. I run my own animal sanctuary so it's hard getting time to dedicate without distractions. These guides really help me
@@Tenebrous227 depends on how many storages you build and how many times you sleep/empty the storages. You can make literally as much as you want. The main limitation is the vendor’s available credits. But I do have a ship coming up that makes this process much easier, as it can carry 1 mil+ credits worth of vytinium (the plus is if you have Payloads skill). Base cargo capacity of 129,000+.
I personally like the Citadel better than the Basilisk for the interior layout and just the impact that it has thanks to the exterior design and sheer size. But, the Basilisk is a bit better in combat thanks to its lower weight. They each have their place. Thanks for watching again!
@@brian96597 that’s a good credit grind, but I used my Vytinium mine to fund this one. Easy to setup, if you’re interested in that it’s in my Outpost Guide.
@@WizeOldWizard So I set up a Vytinium outpost and made some good credits. I found out if you are still good with the CF they have two vendors who have over 10K of credits and they all buy resources. Ship's built, but don't have enough yet for the good engines. :) LOVE the layout!
Greetings Wizzard, loving your ship building vids and the basilisk is my home ship now. Would you ever consider making an outpost build vid as I think your ship building skills would make for a great outpost blueprint for those like myself who just love your flair and style of building.
I do intend to do this at some point in the future. I definitely plan to diversify my content, I just need to figure out exactly how to execute that type of video. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! The Basilisk is a great ship, but it’s a different ship. This one is just as great for what it is, and it is also a massive improvement to the Kepler R. That was the primary goal. It is a mobile castle that decimates everything. It’s a blast to fly.
It’s a great ship, makes exploration a joy. If you’re at level 60 please choose your reactor and weapons appropriately so you don’t waste any credits. I built it at level 49 so my choices were somewhat limited. Thanks for watching! Indigo Ridge outpost build coming soon…
Liked the build on the most part…but no rear exit/entry for me. It’s like building a house and have my driveway or parking spot a block away. Convenience for me is in the forefront. You have a great day and be safe 😊
Swap the landing bay and stroud cap, then you have forward entry. But, the ladder up from the hatch in that position hinders the interior flow, so if you’re fine with that, you can absolutely go with the front entry landing bay. Your preference!
I guess I’d have to find out which one has the greatest hindrance in time. I have trouble believing that the hindrance inside is greater than the trip around the ship
Kinda bugs me too. Will play around with some other habs. Let us know what you come up with. Even one on the "tip" of one of the "arms" could work. Just cut one hab shorter than the other to make it symmetrical or something like that.
Firstly, I have to give you major props for being able to put together designs that both look aesthetically pleasing as well as having layouts that actually make sense which is so rare in other ship builds. I really struggle with trying to lay out the habs to both achieve what I want design wise with a well thought out hab structure, so you have a gift there! Just some feedback on The Citadel... While I love the design, having your hard points stuck in between the two opposing arms really hinders their limited arc of fire.... So while I like the look, I really think that the hard points should be placed in such a way that the combat pilot can more effectively put ordinance down range on the target. Just as an aside, I found that mixing in the PBO 300 turrets with the PB 175s and the vanguard Auto Cannon obliterators are much more effective at deleting targets. The PBO300 turrets at max power put out the same DPS as the PBO 175s. On top of that they also act as damage mitigation - once they start focusing down targets they tend to get more evasive and either try to charge you to get into a close range or get away from you. Once you get them in close with their shields down the Vanguard auto cannons just shred them instantly. I fought the Camulas and it was just ridiculous how easy it was to take it out. You might give it a try. Even if you don't like the turrets those Vanguard auto cannons over the course of taking down a target just put out way more dps, particularly because targets want to get in close most of the time. Just a thought. Again, I just love your designs- I keep going back to the basilisk aka in my game the SS Valkyrie - it just dominates! Keep putting out those designs! They're just awesome! Great job and great content!
Thanks for noticing my attention to detail! Really appreciate your feedback as well, if you’ll allow me to respond, I may be able to change tour mind on some of it. I do much testing prior to releasing these videos and that by no means makes me an expert, but it does mean that I make sure I’m not just slapping parts together and shipping the content. It has to look good AND work well, and if those two criteria aren’t met, that means it’s not ready for prime time! The question of whether or not to use turrets is entirely preference. If you like them, great! Personally, I don’t like using them on anything that has good mobility. The Bristleback is the only ship in my fleet that actually needs them. In terms of DPS, the Obliterator 250MeV (non-auto) turrets have the best DPS of any turret, with those PBO-300 turrets coming in second. Auto weapons also don’t need full power for max DPS, which is nice. Now regarding weapon placement, did you know that weapons will just fire through other modules? You can even place a whole hab entirely blocking a weapon and it’ll just shoot right through it! Now the turrets placement actually does matter, as they have something like an 80 degree range of rotation, and this rotation is actually dependent on clipping with other modules, so they can be limited in that regard. Coupled with the inherent rotational limit that dictates their range of engagement. Turrets also do not have a 100% hit rate when on-target, making pilot guns superior in terms of ability to land shots when on-target, and this is stated by the game in one of the load screen factoids. Last thing on turrets, they benefit from the Automated Weapons Systems skill AND the Weapons System skill associated with the turret’s weapon type. So they could potentially match the damage of some pilot weapons thanks to that. Again though, choice of weapons is entirely up to pilot preference. If you like it, run it! I prefer the three strongest particle beams unless the ship has limited mobility. I am most effective that way. Cheers man, and thanks for watching! Two fighter builds are coming soon. One of which is the fastest possible ship that can be built, and the other which has excellent cargo capacity for it’s size. One is also a true redesign and upgrade for the Razorleaf…
Actually no I had not noticed that they could fire through the modules. At least it doesn't seem to me that they do so from the testing that I have done but I could be wrong obviously. Totally agree with you on placement of the turrets in that if you put them on a flat surface, they have the highest degrees of freedom giving them more time on target and therefore more chances to take down the mob. I totally agree with you in that it is definitely a matter of preference for sure... My experience with the basilisk versus the citadel in terms of hard points has been that it's been much easier to put ordinance on target with the basilisk. This could be purely due to the more nimble nature of the basilisk. I had noticed that the turrets do not hit 100% of the time for sure, but my time to kill is much shorter with the mix of the weapons that I'm using. I was aware that the 250 MEV obliterators had a higher DPS but I wasn't wild about the 1.5 firing rate and as a result had not tested them. I've been using them this morning and it feels like they might be slightly faster in terms of taking down targets then the PBO 300s. But I have to say the biggest difference I noticed is when I swapped out The Vanguard obliterators for the Vanguard auto cannons. At least that's what I'm experiencing in my testing. I set the power to maximum on the auto turrets and then divide up the remaining energy bars between the auto cannons and the particle beams. I do have 45 bars of energy to divide up so it works out really well. Looking forward to seeing your next two designs- would love to have a good looking fighter with the white dwarf 3015's - while they may be the fastest, but they're not the best looking engines, at least in my humble opinion 😂. Again, keep up the awesome work!
Nice build. I still dig my Star Eagle. But I was looking for ideas for the Keplar because in its stock state its a paper weight. I dig the Mass Effect reference in the name as well.
Awesome man, yeah the Kepler sucks in every way, so I wanted to treat this build as if the design of the Kepler actually was up to me. I wish that mission involved actually using the builder to build a ship to be the Kepler. The name was a nod to Mass Effect and Fallout 3, although it was mostly due to the fact that the ship just felt like a damn impenetrable fortress when it was completed. Thanks for watching!
Bro, I knew your voice sounded familiar. I watched your video and created the basilisk. Kept it the same except added two brake engines in the front so I can reverse 😂. Subbing 👍
But it already has four braking engines! Also your ships can reverse with or without those anyway. You saying you recognized my voice from the Basilisk video or from somewhere else?
@@WizeOldWizard I'll build the Kronos next. The "Place Doors Yourself" is easily the best in my opinion. super simple and makes ship building much more enjoyable.
I did swap the bottom armory for the Nova Galactic one, to display the Mantis (and Mom's) armor, but this is my ship in every playthrough from here on out. Thank you
My pleasure! You may also like the Kronos unless you’re keeping your game vanilla. It is a modded build but the design is based on the Citadel, just turned up to 11.
Amazing build! I was wanting to do a two-level, single ladder build that another guy did a video for, but...now I'm not so sure. Personally, I think the Nova Galactic Captain's Quarters is a little better, because your bed is tucked away in a little alcove. I'm also fond of the Nova armory, because it has arnor mannequins.
Honestly I JUST saw the Nova cap’s quarters in another video and it is nice. Swap it out! And the armory for that matter. Those choices are totally yours to make!
@@WizeOldWizard Oh, of course! I was giving my two cents. On the subject of the Cargo Hall, you would think Bethesda would have given it better use. Like, you would think it would increase the cargo capacity, especially given how much real estate it occupies.
@@DreddPirateRoberts agreed 100%. Pretty sure there’s a mod that changes that but I’m staying as vanilla as I can stand until mods are out on consoles.
Love your builds and used the my take on your Basilisk for the endgame of my first play through. I would highly recommend the “Doors Anywhere” mod on nexus it completely changes ship building for me!
I will get into modded builds when mods are available on consoles. I do play on PC and have downloaded a few mods but none of them change the ship builder mechanics. I don't want to leave out the console players. But when I do get into mods, I will be focusing my attention on the ones that improve the ship building experience for sure. Thanks for watching again!
Damn. When I first saw this video I was too young in the game and not comfortable with the ship builder. I'm now at level 100+, and have built 3 large, C-class, multi-module ships. I wish I had waited, and remembered this video. This ship is fabulous, but now I have to "get my money right" to build this beauty.😂
Hey man, the more ships the merrier! Gotta fill out the fleet one way or another. By the way, plan on spending a bit more for the reactor and weapons upgrades since you are over level 60. Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard I have a ship with many of the key components of the Citadel I could build off of. And I’ve never encountered the battleships under the “very hard” setting”; can’t wait.
Those ships don’t stand a chance! Now if you really want the baddest-ass combat ship, the Scythe is what you need. Small, light, and extremely fast with the same weapons and shield that I use on the Basilisk.
Just use Stroud habs instead of the big Nova ones, and you can build it just fine. You’ll also need to use different landers, such as the Stroud Acculanders or the Taiyo equivalent. May also have to shed some mass to make that work… you can remove the two 1000 capacity cargos and replace them with mid bracers, but you’ll still have 5000 capacity. Play with it, I’m sure you can make it work. Either way, thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard Yeah the landing gear is my biggest issue. I have another ship that I am stuck on and cannot complete because it requires the NG-20 landing gear that can only be bought there, It's basically in limbo because any other gear look horrible on it plus I have to sacrifice some things due to the weight. I continue to hope they will fix the issue with ship technicians, until then, much like my ship tech, I am on hiatus.
A variation on the port looking into the core of the ship, if you had a certain endgame object stored on the ship you could potentially position your grav drive so you could see it out of the porthole.
If you switch the reactor and the grav drive around, you can look into the grav drive and see the Armillary (if you put it on your ship) from that porthole.
I’m definitely going to do this when I hit level 60 and swap this reactor for the Pinch 8z. That reactor looks fantastic on the back of a ship. I hadn’t even considered the armillary, great tip!
@@WizeOldWizard I merged a B Class grav drive with a 1x1 hab. I can't see it from the outside, but I can open the airlock and enter into the 'Armillary Chamber' to look at my armillary.
@Stuntsnik11 oh shit that’s a really cool idea. I’m not partial to utilizing glitches just to smash stuff together, but this sounds way cool. I’m definitely going to use your first suggestion in the future though.
@@WizeOldWizard Yeah, all it really does is cost me 5 tons of mass for a cool little way to interact with the armillary. That's how I rationalize it to myself anyway.
@@WizeOldWizard I think it would be interesting to see your take on small ships. I like the challenge of dealing with a smaller square footage and still making the ship look awesome.
@graysenm1320 you talkin bout those micro builds or just something that isn’t 80m long lol. I do have a fighter build slated next but I need to reach level 60 first. Won’t be long.
@@WizeOldWizardhaha I guess something in-between those micro ships and your Aetos (spelling?) ship. I really enjoy having a bulky monster like your Basilisk as well as a dynamic/fast as hell class a ship.
@graysenm1320 you got it right, and I agree. I have yet to publish a dedicated fighter so that will likely be the next one. Just need to hit level 60 for a specific reactor…
Great build! And your tutorial is top tier as always. Your work is commendable. I've been sort of wandering away from very large ships because I've been parked SOOO far away from my surface destination on a number of occasions. This build may have rekindled my desire for such a huge ship. I usually feel a little bit of pain if my mobility drops below 100, but I guess I can suck it up. :)
All you need to do to reach 100 mobility is get the mass down to 4275, which is only 100 mass. I think if you replace the 30T Cargo Holds with mid-bracer type structural parts, you should lose the necessary mass and still have 5000 cargo on the ship. Very flexible. If you do build it, please provide your feedback. I’m especially curious to get the opinion of someone that doesn’t gravitate towards big ships. Thanks for watching!
Love these builds. Thank you for the time, effort and skills that goes into them. One question for you - why does my jump range drop once the engines are put in place? It's the only difference I get when following your guide. Thanks again 👍
In my playthrough, I have the Astrodynamics skill at rank 4, as well as Sarah Morgan assigned to crew. One thing I’m unsure of is whether or not your crew’s Astrodynamics skill reflects in the builder or stats page. I would recommend building your ships without an Astrodynamics crewmate assigned. This way if you want to change up your crew assignments you aren’t hit with a fleet-wide LY jump range nerf. Definitely worth putting skill points there for your character. Makes space jumps a no-brainer. Thank you for watching! Two fighter builds coming up…
Thanks, great detail, but for some reason the entry to my Captains quarter is via a ladder on the floor below and not through the battle Hab, not sure why this has happened.
Unfortunately this is just the nature of the ship builder. If you are on the GamePass version, it’s even harder to provide a solution as it seems to handle this differently than the Steam version of the game. If you followed my build order exactly, using the Attach function wherever possible, the first thing to try is removing the 3x1 habs on both sides of the ship and use a couple of structural pieces to temporarily attach the engines and clear the flight checks. Leave the builder, save, restart game, load exit save. Then when you’re back in the builder, re-attach the 3x1’s using the Attach function where you want the hatches to be. It seems to be the 3x1’s that are troublesome, but there is a way to prevent them spawning ladders. Unfortunately that method isn’t possible on this build. If all else fails, try using different habs in place of those and you may find something that works for you.
Ladders are for suckers, though 5 stories makes it inevitable. Anyway a cool build. I like the stairs version bridge. But you get stuck with two stories then if you want to skip ladders.
I would rather have a centrally positioned ladder to move between decks than to have to run all the way to the bridge. Ladders only bother me when they are sporadically placed.
Agreed that the window into the core is fantastic. I went with a slightly different build, preferring to use Stroud cowling and engine mounts and a cockpit that fits inside the center rather than on top. The habs are situated identical, though, but I still find it impossible to match it all up so I only have one ladder.
Cool idea! Not sure why you aren’t getting the central ladder if you’ve equipped the same habs in the same way, which version of the game are you playing?
@@WizeOldWizard I'm on Xbox, assuming I'm on the latest version. I just made this build over the past two days. I probably need to go back and delete the habs that are showing ladders and try again.
@mjohnson64064 got it, I’m on Steam and it seems like the GamePass version has major differences with the ship builder. Let me know if you still have issues, but it’s definitely necessary to follow the build order and use that Attach function wherever possible.
@@WizeOldWizard That might explain it. I am playing the GamePass version. I bought the disc and then discovered the game was on GamePass, so I never used the disc. I'll try one more time to see if I can eliminate the two extra ladders, but they're in the extreme fore and aft areas of the ship, so it's not a big deal. The central ladder is still there.
@@WizeOldWizard I spent a couple of hours yesterday, and I finally figured it out. I had to swap out some of the habs to make it work, but it worked. This also allowed me to place two engineering habs on either side of the grav drive and place windows looking into that open space. Now there are three total windows looking into the grav drive space. Once I get the armillary back up (since I'm on NG+), this should be a pretty cool feature.
As always, I'm in love with your designs and explanations. Although I think that (probably because I don't fully master English) I've skipped a step or done something wrong. Since the game has connected the rooms as it wanted and now it's Chaos. I know that there are now mods to improve these things, but despite a lot of modding of the game, I've barely touched on the subject of ships yet. Except for the one that sells designs of ready-made ships. Anyway, whatever, I'll try to fix this, since it's an old video and I know that you already use mods for other designs. I'll simply comment on it in writing, because maybe if I read you I'll understand something that you've said and I didn't understand. Anyway, thank you so much for this exquisite work and your time.
Your ladder problem is likely caused by a combination of things, first being use of Attach. I explain that feature real-time while using it in the Aetos build guide, but basically you position your reticle on the point you wish for a door or padder to be placed, hold both triggers and press A. This will tell the game where you’d like it to prioritize door/ladder placement, but it still isn’t 100% foolproof. Alongside Attach, you also need to be conscious of the order in which you Attach your habs, try to follow my order of attachment exactly, and then if you still have problems after doing those things, I can try to help you with more specific placement errors. Thanks for watching!
Loved your vid. Made this ship and it's pretty good. I think I would rearrange the habs, and I know, to each their own. The challenge I am having is that it won't fit on most landing platforms now. Where would you suggest making a little bit of cuts to get it to fit?
I always like hearing how people modify my builds to suit their preferences, so when you build it I’d love to hear about your changes and why you made them. As far as landing pads, there are small pads that can accommodate ships up to 40m, and large pads that 80m ships can land on. To make this ships small enough to fit on a small pad, might as well build a different ship… My suggestion is to just build a large landing pad at your outposts, any other important place you need to land will have a pad that accommodates an 80m ship. Thanks for your comment!

Hey I followed the build almost perfectly, had to use 4 engines instead of 6, but after completing everything it still says I have unattached ship modules? Did I do something wrong?
@langleymneely pick any module and ‘Select All’. Any module that is not highlighted is not snapped onto another part.
And why not use 6 engines?
@@WizeOldWizard I plan on it!
You had me sold at "one central ladder" I hate getting lost in my own ship lol
You are my favorite ship builder. I was just getting ready to start on the Bristleback when I saw this. This will be my project for this evening.

So I was skeptical on this ship build. But hot dam. It shreds any ship that goes against it and the video is very easy to follow. Thank wizard for this video. 🎉
Glad you dig it, thanks for watching and for your feedback!
Great video. I used the Basilisk as my end game ship last playthrough. Can't wait to try this build
You're going to love this one and, in fact, if you decrease the cargo capacity, this ship will fly exactly like the Basilisk, but with a much more roomy interior.
Thanks for watching again!
Awesome build!! Great down to earth narrative, easy to follow along! The battle at the end was a perfect coincidence! Thanks, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy the ship.
Thanks for the tip!
hey im rebuilding this ship again but i keep running into the same issue i had previously... i changed the hab manufacturer for some habs such as the battle stations 2x2 and the engineering bay 3x1... but i didnt put a different 3x1 on the ship. both 3x1 are engineering bays so maybe thats the issue but even when i switched it i still had the issue...
i have ladders in the left and right engineering bays, one leading up and on the other side down... i deleted the ship and rebuilt it, or i tried my best but i still get the ladders... and you dont have any other ladders... and its frustrating me now cus its not a smooth 'tour' lol
help?
oh and the other diff thing i did i put the entrance on the front side and used the pinch 8z... so i guess 5 overall changes but, do these 5 changes actually make a diff to add ladders? ugh ©_©
Too bad you can't stick a outpost armillary on your ship and place it there. Or even have some swirly stuff for the grav drive
Still playing this ship, it does everything! Excellent build!
Yes! That’s exactly why I built it, glad it’s serving you well!
The Scythe or the Helion would make great fighter ship companions for the Citadel…
I’ve seen pool balls and cue sticks spawn at random.
You may still be able to get the Kepler R, but don’t quote me on that…
All I can say is, start with any ship you wish, follow the guide, and instead of using 6830’s, you’ll have to use 6330’s and then just tune the balance of cargo/weight to your liking.
...on NG+6 and just built it again for this play through as my go-to for endgame big ship.
@chesliadaywalker3015 sick! I’ll check it out.
is your grav jump is 30 like the video or 24 like me
@@theriault1994 I followed the video and used the same grav drive as Wizard did.
This is a really fun/badass ship to fly, definitely tanks and packs a hell of a punch. Thanks for sharing this build
Hell yeah it is, I love this thing, might be my favorite build (that I’ve published, wait til you see the two coming up next…)
Thanks for watching!
I did the same! I much prefer a forward facing landing bay, and swapped to the Hopetech one
It's great to have a build for each of the main free ships; Frontier, Star Eagle, Razorleaf, Kepler R especially looking at them from the perspective of leveling when doing a new playthrough
Subscribed!
Thank you! I wanted to grab that low-hanging fruit first, and now I need to hunt for those rare ships to capture.
@@WizeOldWizard
I really like your Starfield content, your attention to detail makes following along easy.
OP, I built your ship and I am VERY happy with it. It does everything well for me. Thanks!
My pleasure, thanks for watching! Two fighter builds coming soon…
❤You are definitely improving! I fought with my Wife while conscripting her help with the Basalisk which I kept as The Mantis!
My pleasure, thanks for your support!
This is the BEST Ship Build Guide I've watched, Hands Down! You've earned my sub. 👍👍 Now I REALLY Want to Build a Ship like THIS!! 😎
Thank you! Build it up and let me know what you think!
First time seeing your content and your tutorial is very straightforward compared to some other ship building videos I have seen! You have yourself a new subscription, thanks for the work you do!😊 4:44
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
Man! Thanks i have my Giant Now. Three Hours listening Your vídeo and .. finally i did!!!
My pleasure! Giant is right, it’s the most imposing ship I’ve built.
Thank you for watching! I’ve got a fighter build coming very soon…
I've just started ship building and you builds are awesome
Thank you very much! I hope that they are giving you some good inspiration!
Probably one of the few builds I’d try as it’s beautifully described and where to get the parts. 😊
Thank you very much! I hope you do build it, I’m confident that you’ll enjoy it.
I just recently switched to pc to play with mods and it’s fantastic - especially being able to put a door or pass through on any hab wherever needed
@@WizeOldWizard no, just what I did (workshop).
@@WizeOldWizard I did the Skythe, but lost it by chosing the big step.
Gotcha, well pretty soon the Scythe will be obsolete, thanks to mods. I’ve got some big stuff on the horizon!
A jack of all trades, your editing skills are great!
Getting better I think, great success!
(WARNING: CRITICAL COMMENT BELOW)
Just some tips...
Awesome once again. I was going to redo the Kepler r and you just helped me tremendously, keep them ship builds comming!
Starfield looks interesting for sure! might have to give it a go just looking at this video
Basilisk is now second best …for the time being :p
Now need to earn credits as I’m almost broke!
Good people deserve good support my guy
@@otissanders2624 well I’m grateful to have viewers like you, and because of viewers like you I’m going to keep the content flowing.
Have a great day man!
This is my second build I followed you on. I made a couple of changes but minor. I put the Caravel 103 shielded cargo instead of the aft lower wings and radiators instead of the Hope Tech Mids so it looks similar to the Chimera III
Oh nice, I can picture that. Those are both good ideas, a touch more intimidation factor.
Thanks for watching!
Same as you, most of my playtime has been spent in the ship builder.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, I build this off your guide, I used Ancient Mariner Module mod and Ancient Mariner Hab Extended mod.
Videos like these prove are what this game could have been
The game is great. Not without flaws of course.
Great build, one of the best heavy builds I seen.
Thank you very much!
This is wonderful. Great work as always and I like the portal addition. It looks so cool and I don't think I've seen anything quite like it.
Another inspiring build with thorough tutorial! 👍
These guides really help me
@@WizeOldWizard How much do you make from the Outpost?
@@Tenebrous227 depends on how many storages you build and how many times you sleep/empty the storages. You can make literally as much as you want. The main limitation is the vendor’s available credits.
But I do have a ship coming up that makes this process much easier, as it can carry 1 mil+ credits worth of vytinium (the plus is if you have Payloads skill). Base cargo capacity of 129,000+.
@@Tenebrous227 perfect! Give it a watch, skip through the missions section, build both of the outposts in that guide. You’ll be rich pretty quickly!
NICE! I have all of your Starfiled videos saved for future builds. Your Razorleaf version is my favorite so far.
I personally like the Citadel better than the Basilisk for the interior layout and just the impact that it has thanks to the exterior design and sheer size. But, the Basilisk is a bit better in combat thanks to its lower weight. They each have their place.
Thanks for watching again!
@@WizeOldWizard Great. Can't wait to build it. Have to take on some more Crimson Fleet side jobs. :)
@@brian96597 that’s a good credit grind, but I used my Vytinium mine to fund this one. Easy to setup, if you’re interested in that it’s in my Outpost Guide.
@@WizeOldWizard Thanks. I'll check it out.
Beautiful, and a beast! Nice job... I may have to retire my Basilisk, lol.
Nah, you'll still fly it. The Basilisk is faster.
Just finished the build. Great guide.
Outstanding once again. I'm loving my basilisk btw this may be my next playthrough!
Thank you! The Basilisk is a great ship, but it’s a different ship. This one is just as great for what it is, and it is also a massive improvement to the Kepler R. That was the primary goal. It is a mobile castle that decimates everything. It’s a blast to fly.
i need to do this today!!! :) thanks for great videos from Finland :)
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
I hope you're staying warm over there.
@@WizeOldWizard im trying xD
What a monster. Will deffo follow along and build my own. Thanks, gg
It’s a great ship, makes exploration a joy. If you’re at level 60 please choose your reactor and weapons appropriately so you don’t waste any credits. I built it at level 49 so my choices were somewhat limited.
Thanks for watching! Indigo Ridge outpost build coming soon…
I love the ship design's of yours ive built them all in my game ive had to use a mods for more ships
Thank you! I hope you have room for two more… Fighters coming up!
@@SethRumsey try it out and see for yourself. It bugged me enough to switch it, but you may be fine with that.
@chrisward6569 funny you mentioning the 3015’s…

If you’re interested in building ships with mods, the Kronos was heavily inspired by the Citadel.
@@WizeOldWizard I'll build the Kronos next. The "Place Doors Yourself" is easily the best in my opinion. super simple and makes ship building much more enjoyable.
I did a Kepler R rebuild. I went crazy with it, then scaled back (by about half) to 19,000 storage

And I’ve never encountered the battleships under the “very hard”
setting”; can’t wait.
Those ships don’t stand a chance! Now if you really want the baddest-ass combat ship, the Scythe is what you need. Small, light, and extremely fast with the same weapons and shield that I use on the Basilisk.
Too bad my New Homestead ship tech is missing or else I'd love to build this ship! Great job!
So I went back to the KonTiki bridge, and per @BruceTheSniper reversed the bay. Damn I love this ship even more!
Woah this is super cool, great job! Smashed it again
Thanks for watching another one! Spent a lot of time developing this one.
I would love your feedback if you build it!

I’m definitely going to use your first suggestion in the future though.

Liking your builds. Thank you.
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
My ship looks petite compared to this monstrosity (a cool monster). Cool build!
It will be a tough one to beat in terms of its size and presence. Big ships are so fun to build.
Thanks for watching!
This one reminds me of the Homeworld Cataclism destroyer. :)
Oh now I gotta look that up!
Thank you this Is the best ship,❤
Loved your vid. Made this ship and it's pretty good. I think I would rearrange the habs, and I know, to each their own. The challenge I am having is that it won't fit on most landing platforms now. Where would you suggest making a little bit of cuts to get it to fit?
I always like hearing how people modify my builds to suit their preferences, so when you build it I’d love to hear about your changes and why you made them.
As far as landing pads, there are small pads that can accommodate ships up to 40m, and large pads that 80m ships can land on. To make this ships small enough to fit on a small pad, might as well build a different ship…
My suggestion is to just build a large landing pad at your outposts, any other important place you need to land will have a pad that accommodates an 80m ship.
Thanks for your comment!
BTW, this ship looks fantastic, very Star Wars-esque IMHO.
Star Wars definitely take a brutalist approach, which was the same intent that I had. Big and unapologetically tough.
