Could have used drain valve at bottom to empty the filter of water,that's its function....oh well

There's a 14mm drain bolt underneath. Once empty it will hold a smidgeon under 500ml - the same size as a bottle of Fernox. Simple.

Bleed air before opening the magnaclean, refill to the brim.
