  • Making the cutiest little skirt ever. Lots of double crochet :)) I loved making this skirt bc the yarn was so soft. Even tho I had the challenge of usuing two aliens at once, it really wasn’t as difficult as I expected. Idk if you can tell, but I added some silver hoops to the piece at the end. I think it makes it so hot and unique. I notice the crochet community doesn’t play around with enough mediums and I think that should change!
    Anyway if u want to purchase reach out on IG @ thewillowexchange ty!!

    I love the skirt so much!! Thanks for this tutorial, just finished it and it only took me 2 1/2 days :) It's super cute and I made it a little bit longer and with more weighted yarn and it still turned out super fluffy and light!

    this is sooo cute!! i want to make this but with built in shorts for a festival. if i crocheted the ruffle part of this skirt starting a couple inches from the top of the shorts and basically not include the waistband it would give a similar effect?? i havent really made bottoms before haha

    • @josierapacz
      @josierapacz  7 месяцев назад

      hey!! thanks so much😊😊 I think your idea would absolutely work! I would start the triple crochets and make the first row an increasing row, then do a non increasing row. and then back and forth until your desired length. lmk if you have trouble I’m active on @ josierapacz on insta and reply faster if u need immediate help💓 good luck!!🧡🧡🧡🧡✨✨

    Can you redo the video showing how to get the skirt to ruffle?

    • @josierapacz
      @josierapacz  3 месяца назад +3

      I can definitely do a tutorial on this! basically, after you make the waistband, alternate between a row of no increases, then a row where you increase every 3rd stitch. (so R:1 no increase R2: increase every 3rd stitch R: 3 no increase R4: increase every 3rd stitch etc.) after around 3 rows you’ll see the piece start to ruffle. thanks for watching 💕💕

      it’s called mohair you can find it at specialty yarn shops or online :p usually Joanns or hobby lobby doesn’t carry this stuff!

    some parts of the video didnt have instructions? can't figure out how the ruffles magically happened and where to put the last dc structure line? is there also a typo because an 8mm hook was shown, but text said 9mm?

    • @josierapacz
      @josierapacz  28 дней назад

      Hii! yes I did skip over some instructions! I got lazy sorry! but I do explain more in replies to comments or I have a 2.99 pattern on Etsy. but I will also explain it here:
      -double crochet ends at row 2 (of waistline section)
      -I think i planned on using a 9 mm but I mistakenly grabbed my 8 mm
      -ruffles start at row 7 (of waistline section); end at row 15 (unless you want it longer than mine)
      -ruffles are treble crochet 2 stitches, then skip (repeat til end of row), then NEXT row, treble crochet in each stitch as usual until end of row.
      - repeat 👆 until you reach row 15 or desired length
      lmk if you have more questions!! 🥰😊😊🫶

    May i know the type of yarn you used here?

    • @josierapacz
      @josierapacz  Месяц назад

      hii, I used two yarns at once! one skein is mohair and the other is an alpaca blend. together they made a fluffier, yet stronger yarn to work with. I recommend using mohair along with a bamboo/cotton blend. BUT, you can use weight 4 yarn if u want to keep it simple. :)

    Can I know how to make ruffle ? And I don’t clear that part. Can you tell me please?

    • @josierapacz
      @josierapacz  7 месяцев назад +10

      yes! to make the ruffles, use a triple stitch and increase every other row.
      for example: row 1- triple stitch to end.
      row 2- chain 3, triple crochet in 2nd stitch. triple crochet in 3rd stitch. 2 triple crochet in 4th stitch. (so increase by one stitch every 3).
      row 3- triple crochet to end of row.
      you’ll do a row with no increase, and then do a row with increase, then no increase, then with increase. this way will create the ruffle!!
      hope that helped 💓
