@@rinchapman4816 of course! It might take some test but I think you should be fine with 2 rows of increases! If you want more fluff then do 3 rolls. But I think her video is perfect for XS-L. One thing I will recommend is making your waist band smaller than what you think you’re gonna need. I always make my waist bands too big and they don’t stay on my hips. Hope this helps! :)
I'm working up this skirt, aiming for a size 4x! I'm using your tip to do three rows of increases, but I'm wondering if I should add a few more rows to the overall length as well? What worked for you?
@@kelsie2018 for me I added more rows too but the skirt was really long and heavy. I still love it and wear it all the time it gives it a 50s vibe to me. But it’s all up your preference.
some notes: waistband: i recommend counting ur stitches often when u crochet the waistband. it seems annoying, but it only takes a few seconds, and it's a lot better than having to undo several rows. 25 inch waist -> 82 rows (or 81, since u have to frog (undo) one), if u are using similar materials (same gauge for crochet hook and yarn) and have similar tension. if u have wider hips, u may need to add more rows - it depends what material ur using (i used 4 ply mercerized cotton, which isn't stretchy at all) and how loose ur tension is. i personally would have preferred to do a 23.5-24 inch waistband, but that didn't fit over my hips, so i had to settle for a looser waist. alternatively, u could make the waistband taller (ie chain more at the start) so that the gap where the tie is will be wider, but the bottom edge of the waistband might still be too tight in that case. skirt: if u want more ruffles u can add increases every 2-3 dc's (double crochets) instead of every 4, or keep the same intervals between increases as in the video, but add more rows. when u are crocheting the main body of the skirt (after the initial 2 rows of increases), at the start of each round make sure that u crochet ur first hdc (half double crochet) into the very first stitch next to the chain 2 - otherwise u will be decreasing by 1 stitch each round.
@@darkwebgirl Yarn tends to be relatively stretchy, so frogging one row when it *exactly* fits around your waist makes it more snug.. That’s what I’m assuming at least. Sorry for the late reply
