    Im an advanced crocheter but I went ahead and subscribed because the stitching is perfection, the music is calm and not obnoxious and the patterns are quite lovely. Just wish they would call it crochet. Crochet and knitting are 2 different skills. Not a combined term.

      I agree, this is a lovely pattern, I made a lovely garment for my mother using this same pattern in the 60's, but the pattern stitch book I had was ever so much more awkwardly explained. Crochetworkshop make it hugely easier. Thank you so much.
      I think the reason for calling crochet knitting is in the translation from another language. To me it sounds like the techniques are treated much the same in other countries, a fabric that is crafted by hand and it is prevalent in the non-English speaking world. I find it quite acceptable and rather quaint. After all we do know what they are doing and they all do it so well, all being very clever and talented at it and willing to share their expertise. 🙏😂❤❤❤💐

      @@JV-ng8dy actually, this is a crochet stitch. It’s also called the star stitch. It does not feel like knitting to me at all, and it isn’t. I have a pattern only it’s done in half double crochets, but the yarn is chunky. I believe she puts knitting on here because other countries do call it knitting.

    I started crochet on April 3rd 2017. I watched a vid on RUclips on repeat for 3 hrs. Took a 2 hr nap and haven't looked back since. I'm kind of like the anomaly in my entourage. If I'm chilling, I have my yarn and hook in my "yarn shopping bag"
    Long story short: This pattern is absolutely 💯 GORGEOUS!!! I'm trying to blankies for two 3 year old twin girls. Their father was a little brother. His going thru it. I just want to thank you for taking the time and teaching us the way our ancestors did this. ❤❤❤

    Thank you for your videos. I love the fact that you don't do a lot of superfluous talking. You put the amount of chains in and then you show how to do it. I am new to this, but, because of your channel I am making styles of stitches I once believed I wouldn't have been ever able to do. And they are neat and pretty from the start. So you are very much appreciated.😊

      Do it till it's big enough for a baby just remember you use 6 chains at once. my advice for you is that you use the time table for 6 that way you end up with the right amount each time 30,36,42,48,54 ect.

    Your method, for what I identify as the star stitch, works up nice and neat. I have seizures. Then my hands basically go on autopilot and continue to do what I’m doing. I’ll find out if my hands will be doing the stitch the way you’re teaching us or the way I originally learned! Thankfully the seizures don’t come on a regular basis. We’ll see what happens. A new way to do a stitch is always fun to learn. Thanks for posting your tutorial. 🙏

      Sounds like you may know how to expand upon this pattern to make it bigger. I never learned how to adapt patterns to be bigger or smaller. I saw 2+2+2. Can you share what this means?

    • @shafikapatel9702
      @shafikapatel9702 Год назад

      @@mrsjenperry I saw someone say it means chain 2s until your desired length.. then add one.. for example.. if you want it to be 16 chains, youll chain 16+1

    This is a beautiful stitch. I have a pattern that is called the star stitch only it is done in half double crochet but the yarn is a chunky yarn. This is a beautiful stitch. Thank you for giving us the pattern and doing it in single crochets because now I can use it for a very beautiful sparkly, navy blue that reminds me of stars, but I didn’t like the half double crochet with the yarn.

    I love this pattern and could follow all of her instructions, but I want to make it wider and don't understand the 2 + 2+2 to get the correct number of stitches across. Please help!

      Note that gor the FIRST stitch she takes 6 foundation chains. But as she continues,she takes 3 loops from the LAST stitch she were working on ( counting the loop we already have on thw hook, that makes 4 loops on the hook already) + 2 loops taken from foundational chains (that makes 6 loops on the hook). Basically you need to count any amoumt of foundational chains you want, just make sure youll always have 2 foundational chains to make a total of 6 loops on the hook. Basically you go 4 loops +2, 4 loops+2, 4 loops+2. You need 6 loops on the hook for this stitch to be completed. Hope I've explained myself.

      Any even number will work for this stitch. I have chained 50, and it works well.
