This recipe is absolutely amazing. I swapped for some old tomatoes I had in the fridge over paste. Really spicy and wholesome. Oh and I did beef as that all I had in too. Thank you Cheryl x
That curry looks great and it's even greater that it's a slow cooker recipe. It makes it so easy to cook low and slow for the tenderest most tasty of curries.
Looks great, I'd have chucked some frozen peas in at the end just to wind up those people. Side note - I'm pretty sure that our Cousins over the pond only use 'cilantro' to refer to the leafy kind, the seeds are always coriander.
Yep. Dumb Canadian language. You cant buy corriander leafs you have to buy cilantro, but if you want to grow cilantro you have to buy corriander seeds. Dont even get me started on aubergines and courgettes.
Thanks so much... love the thought of having a solid slow-cooker curry. I’ll end up putting a few servings in the freezer to have for other meals on other days. Living single, these recipes allow for plenty of meals all in one fell-swoop.
@@sparsh415. Hah !!! Not my saying, but definitely my style. Confessing here that I plan on adopting your saying as my own. but I promise you, I’ll credit it to you.
Just made it last night and it’s great. I made a double batch with half the recommended cayenne pepper and it still had a nice kick. Also, I like my food saltier so if you do too I’d add a bit more salt.
Good evening Cheryl, this looks and sounds utterly delicious 😋, definitely going to be giving this one a go in my fairly new slow cooker, may add in some cubed dice peppers 🫑 as well. Have all the dried spices at home, but will have to get some fresh limes & fresh corriander. I’ll probably buy a couple of potted ones as well as some basil in the supermarket, divide them up & transplant them into pots in the garden to keep me supplied over the coming summer months!👩🏻🌾 As always thank you for sharing & enjoy the rest of your week. xx 👩🏻🍳 🥘 🍚👌😋💕💞🩷
This looks delicious! You do like your spicy food 😮🌶 It is strange, but here in America, we call the fresh herb cilantro, but the dried form we call coriander.
Just made this today- really nice and so easy to make. I mixed in a bit of mango chutney on my plate, which really took the dish to a whole new level- I'll definitely add some in the pot next time 😅
Aha, Chicken Curry, I have been waiting for this. I do not have a slow cooker but I'm sure I could manage it on the stove top. Thank you. See ya Saturday, love the nail colour.
On a cold Winter`s day it`s so cosy when your home smells of slow cooker Curry. Another good one is Chickpea ,Spinach and Potato=Cheap, filling and tasty. You can also buy ready made curry powder from the supermarkets if you haven`t got all the spices etc and use tins of chopped tomatoes as a base for your sauce. 🙂
Hello Cheryl! This recipe is cooking away in my slow cooker right now. In the video, you say you used a tea spoon of ground coriander, but it would seem you put a tablespoon in. What should I use? Thankyou
Absolutely! The sauce may not end up as thick though...the potato helps to thicken it a bit 🙂 if the sauce ends up too watery...you could stir through a little cornflour (or arrowroot) and water though!
Hi. Can you use less cayenne pepper if you don't want it too spicy.. i like it about medium also can this be frozen as leftovers even with the potato in it or will it go mushy.also you don't have to brown off chicken thighs before slowcooking? Will this go well with naan bread?
Can I get your opinion ? I have a lot of chicken drumsticks in the freezer (it’s what I can get for cheapest) would that work? And would that change the cook time since it has the bone? Please and thank you ❤
Sorry, Highland lassie, the holy grail is GOG garlic, onion ginger. You didn't add any ginger. Also, my wife would add homegrown hot chilli's. Now that's spicy hot.😂❤
What I used (serves 4-5 adults) Olive oil for frying - 1 tablespoon 1 Red onion - finely chopped 4 Cloves of garlic - minced or chopped 6 or 7 Baby potatoes - diced or sliced in half 600g /21 oz) Chicken thighs (skinless and boneless) - cut into 1 inch pieces 1 Teaspoon each of black pepper & salt 3 Whole cloves or 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1 Teaspoon cayenne pepper - more if you like an extra spicy curry! 1 Tablespoon coriander (cilantro) powder 1 Teaspoon coriander leaf 1 Teaspoon chilli powder or chilli flakes ½ Teaspoon turmeric powder 2 - 3 Bay leaves (remember to remove at the end of the cooking time) 1 Teaspoon garam masala powder 240g (1 cup) 8.4 oz Tomato puree (or tomato paste) 120ml (½ cup) 4.2 oz Water 1 Tablespoon butter - salted or unsalted, both are fine A handful of chopped coriander to serve.
Evening folks! Hope I find you all very well ☺ Curry on the menu tonight! Thanks for stopping by 😘

I actually cooked this today, and it was lovely. Great to find a recipe where I don’t need cream or coconut milk. So thanks for sharing.
This recipe is absolutely amazing. I swapped for some old tomatoes I had in the fridge over paste. Really spicy and wholesome. Oh and I did beef as that all I had in too. Thank you Cheryl x

This curry was FABULOUS!!! Just enough heat and great spice. Delicious!!
Definitely going to try this! Have all the spices and herbs. Thank you Cheryl.

Dam that looks good.
Can you use lamb? And how long do you cook it for?
Could you make this without the potato? Xx

Good work👍👍👍👍
I like to add a tin of coconut cream to mine to richen it and make it creamier
Teacher why do you need to take the edge off the taste of the onion and garlic? Will it not cook out in slow cooking?
I love hot curries my favorite meal🎉🎉
Mmmmm thank you 😊😊😊❤❤❤
very nice.
yummy
Hi Cheryl looks delicious😂
I like to make my rice yellow when I make curry by adding turmeric powder to the rice.
I can’t find the recipe or list of ingredients.
If using breast will I keep the chicken whole till the end or cut it up?
Sorry, Highland lassie, the holy grail is GOG garlic, onion ginger. You didn't add any ginger. Also, my wife would add homegrown hot chilli's. Now that's spicy hot.😂❤
Is there a written script for this recipe??
What I used (serves 4-5 adults)
Olive oil for frying - 1 tablespoon
1 Red onion - finely chopped
4 Cloves of garlic - minced or chopped
6 or 7 Baby potatoes - diced or sliced in half
600g /21 oz) Chicken thighs (skinless and boneless) - cut into 1 inch pieces
1 Teaspoon each of black pepper & salt
3 Whole cloves or 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 Teaspoon cayenne pepper - more if you like an extra spicy curry!
1 Tablespoon coriander (cilantro) powder
1 Teaspoon coriander leaf
1 Teaspoon chilli powder or chilli flakes
½ Teaspoon turmeric powder
2 - 3 Bay leaves (remember to remove at the end of the cooking time)
1 Teaspoon garam masala powder
240g (1 cup) 8.4 oz Tomato puree (or tomato paste)
120ml (½ cup) 4.2 oz Water
1 Tablespoon butter - salted or unsalted, both are fine
A handful of chopped coriander to serve.
I can't wait to make this. I agree about the thighs. I've got to get some Garam Masala. love your nails. Love ya.
Hiya Cheryl, looks delish!!! Was it blow your socks off hot? 🥵🥵🤣
It was quite spicy! Not TOO spicy for me though 😄👍
6 hour recipe for 5 pieces of chicken?
I would leave out the Corriander its like eating perfume 🤮🤮
