  • Here is a slow cooker beef stew that is easy and perfect for dinner. The combination of tender chunks of meat, savory brown gravy, potatoes and vegetables are comfort food heaven. There are many classic beef stew recipes, but this one is my favorite. I like to serve over crusty slices of French bread for a stick-to-your-ribs hearty meal. This is a perfect beef stew without the fuss, you can make all winter long. You can also double this recipe to feed a large family.
    Welcome to Simply Mamá Cooks RUclips Channel! I am a Mom to a blended Korean / Mexican American family that loves to share what I cook in my home. I am still learning and enjoying the process of making home-cooked food.

    Honestly, I used to make my stew from scratch. Now I use the McCormick seasoning packet for beef stew and follow the directions on the packet. I just add add additional garlic. It’s terrific.

      @@chammychamchas just salt, pepper, onion powder garlic powder and celery seed. I don’t recall totally, it’s been so long. I didn’t look at the ingredients in the McCormick seasoning but they must be similar as the stew tastes very much like my own. I never had a recipe. I often cook by taste.

    I always brown the meat, chicken, pork because it does bring out the flavor. But its good when you can put all your ingredients in a crockpot in the morning on low setting and dinner is ready when you get home 😊

    I should note it's different than mine, I use a 1/2 cup of red wine and a 1/2 cup of beef broth. I add the potatoes and carrots after two hours so they aren't too mushy. I use a large onion, 1/2 diced and 1/2 in chunks. I use two bay leafs. Seasoning is the same and I add peas near the end. I also brown the meat first and deglaze the pan with the wine. That said, Nice Job! ( Oh and I subscribed just because you used peas!)

      Yum! Your recipe sounds like a recipe from an old *New York Times Cookbook* I always used to make all my stews . Needless to say, you don't include any commercial soup mixes loaded with harmful additives when you make stew.

    • @Nefertiti0403
      @Nefertiti0403 Год назад

      She Said in the beginning A lot of ppl have been asking about an easier recipe that doesn’t INCLUDE BROWNING THE MEAT. Everything You just mentioned she can do and more. She was showing others who want to make an easier recipe

    • @emilybh6255
      @emilybh6255 Год назад

      @@Nefertiti0403 I wasn't talking about browning the meat. If you reread my comment, it was about the ingredients. Too many "easy" recipes include what many would think of as harmful ingredients due to all the additives/chemical isolates used to make them. The goal in cooking if you care for your health should be to use WHOLE ingredients as grown in Nature.

I think the only things I would do differently is add nice big chunks of onion, and hold off adding the peas til the last 10 min so they wouldn't be mushy. But that's just me. Great job on this Angelica. Thanks for the vid. Always enjoy them and have learned a lot from your Mexican recipes.

    Best shortcut ever and great tips! Absolutely flavorful and scrumptious turnout! I lived on my own for 30+ years and never ever used a crockpot until several months ago. When I made my stews, I always cubed and browned the beef after a good dry rub. It was the magical step that made everything taste better. It was one that took extra time… and that I never imagined would have tasty results if I skipped the browning. You just proved me wrong! My husband absolutely loves this too. So, with a few days of cooler temps on the way … your recipe made our home one happy place. Thanks! 😋

Often during the work week, we need to be able to come home to a meal that is already cooked. Thanks for the video.

    👩🏻‍💻When I make beef stew I always use a roast or steaks for my meat. The dry soup mix is an excellent idea and a time saver. I love onions so I chop one up along with the soup mix. One thing I always do is to chop up those celery leaves, they have more flavor than the celery itself. Beside the celery leaf always looks pretty in stews and soups. I have never put my meat in flour, such a good idea. I have always thickened the juices after, which is a big pain.
