- Taught a couple of the boys how to lay down their first backflips!! Snowboarding isn't complete without having a backflip in your arsenal of ticks, so I decided to help you guys out and give the most important tips I have on how you can perfect your first backflip ever on a snowboard. another big tip i have for backies is to make sure your shoulders are square to the takeoff when you pop. I used to end up throwing unintentional rodeos until I started squaring up my shoulders! great vid

Real late on this one but I got rocked trying a backflip today so I’m here trying to not repeat that😂 Do you think it’s easier when I’m starting out to send it towards my heel edge or back towards the tail?
Slight toe edge locked in, but just enough to hold your line. Then straight back off the whole board through your tail. Commit. You got it

Man nice timing dude! Going for my first backie this season. Been working on them on the trampoline for months now and just started throwing them at the barn at Woodward copper into the foam pit (on the skate lite board). Going to practice that all season and then go for it next spring on a warm slushy day. Do you have any tips for the laid out backflip as opposed to a barrel roll or wild cat? I have a hard time keeping my body turned down the hill.

Does the condition of the snow play into how easy the back flips get? I see it's a little slushy in the video and not icy like it is during the hight of the winter season.
Sure! Knowing, that you might fall onto rather soft snow instead of hard ice will make you feel more comfortable and increase your ability to fully commit to the trick.

You could backflip a 2x4 or a car tire cut in half of you know what your doing
