Before I even watch.... if Perry Saturn, Former Army Ranger, guy who got shot twice stopping an attack on a Woman, who also took bumps in ECW, and had plenty of opportunity to be in or witness backstage antics, calls someone a badass, they are.
He's a tough operator no doubt
No idea he had a scroll. Siiiiiick
Guy is a hero 100%❤
A tough man and an honourable man 🫡
Perry seems like a cool dude
You have to get Blackman for a shoot interview !
If James can manage to track down and book Saturn then I don't see how he couldn't also book Blackman
@@jonbourgoin182 Yes great point
The whole of Wrestling Bios will tune in for that one.
I will too!
Really need a Steve Blackman sit-down interview.
Right! I've been hoping for it!
Definitely not enough Steve Blackman shoot interviews.
Just call him at his bail bond business and offer $2,500.
@kp-wp8tx imagine him kicking down your door 😆
I doubt he will do it
I remember Perry previously saying "Meng would kill us all and there'd be nothing we could do about it" 😂😂
Saturn is a joy to listen too, I really loved watching him work back in the day. I hope hes doing well now!
*to
@@ironadversity2500 damn fat fingers! :P
I love how majority of wrestlers can always remember exactly which city they were in for whatever story they’re telling. Considering how many years of constant travels they have been through
Right? I also am always amazed at that as well.
This is something I’ve also often wondered. Every damn story….”So, there I was. We were at the hat of this bowling alley right outside downtown, in [enter town name]…”
I get these are wild stories. But, they also shove down our throats that they are/were on the road 300-350 days per year & these guys going for 25 years
The same with nba players 😮 when athletes got a schedule it's easy to remember everything else.
You just become more aware of a cities charm/feel/vibe other nuances when you're there frequently but don't live there, especially when add in personal milestones like ppv moments moments, so locations get grained into the memory that forms, sort of like the gps coordinates stored in the meta data when you take a picture
Good point @@heretic600
lets get perry some teeth!
DDP can probably help like he did with Scotty Riggs.
@@KayFabe87no not those kind of teeth. They SUCK. They always look unnatural and awkward. Riggs got exactly the teeth he said he didn't want.
I don't have much but I'll chip in!!
He deserves them. A Tru hero
YES!!!!!! I know how it feels not having them. He definitely deserves... I cant believe wwe wont help them with stuff like this.... Smh
Perry Saturn had a better top rope elbow than most of the performers from his era. His matches with Goldberg, Booker T, Raven, Kanyon, Chris Benoit, DDP and Paul London were fantastic.
Absolutely. If Perry were a modern wrestler, he'd be a top guy.
💯
The elbow drop, the rings, and his version of the death valley driver, brilliant
Jesus, imagine Steve Blackman turning up at your door.
He'd mufugg kick your door open
Who could ever forget that old interview clip of Perry with Sean Oliver when he asked him "Who would win a fight back in WCW between: Saturn, Scott Norton, Fit Finlay, Haku, The Barbarian, Rick Steiner and Jim Duggan, Saturn replied "Tonga. Nobody else would stand a chance. Not even a question. He could kill everyone without blinking and there is nothing anyone could do about it"
You always remember this because Perry looked genuinely scared when he answered ! 😀
He also said he might let Barb live out of consideration for a fellow Pacific Islander.
I believe it was Sullivan..who was scared when he ask Meng, to do something unethical...I don't if Meng was going to get angry at me...he said.
It’s the greatest response to the answer. Perry really did look like he was imagining it happen in his head.
I remember that video. Couldn't help but think those were the most random names to pick for that question.
@@MaintenanceWithATwistnot really. All of them were noted bad asses and tough guys. Duggan had shovels for hands and got in fights in mid south with Dr Death at bars constantly.
Man, idk how DDP didn't get hold of Perry!, i wish he can help him, i want to see him smile again, getting in shape and maybe make an appearance in a wrestling show, he's truly a legit bada$$ and a legend
He's still super sharp mentally
@@indievinceinglese3560I’m so happy to see his memory is still sharp. I was worried prior to the interview given his issues, but he seems okay here. He must be seriously tough to resurrect himself.
All us Reliving The War fans know Steve Mufuggin Blackman is a badass
And may God have mercy on anyone listening to country music in his presence
James put. "We have Steve Blackman coming on the show. Please ask your questions below and the best will make it."
1st. Why don't you like country music?
2nd. What happened to Dugs robot monster with lazer eyes?
James gives up reading any more*
He’s an animal,AN ANIMAL!!!
Shout out the the Jam-up guys and gals out there. 👍
I remember a few years ago Blackman had a martial arts school or was an instructor at one and was training fighters for mma fights. So he's legit.
I have bounced my whole life never understood why anyone would walk into a bar look 👀 at Haku and be like yeah I going to pick a fight with this guy. Just nuts don’t make sense
Im sure there are plenty of guys who regret fucking with him.
As someone who worked a door or two, people on hardcore drugs, or even just drunks don't always make sense
Perry looks better than what he did a few years ago
Totally agree
I think I speak for everyone when i say: WE NEED A PERRY SATURN PODCAST
I've watched 7 wrestling legends asked about Haku vs Brock Lesnar in their respective primes and all 7 picked Haku without hesitation just like Perry Saturn picked him in this clip. Also, I loved how he talks about Rick Rude being a badass who could knock out people at will and then at 4:44 he says Rick Rude wouldn't stand a chance against Haku.
I remember watching Warlord..meeting Haku at a signing....the way Warlord looks at Haku...like a kid meeting Mr. Olympia...total respect.
God Bless Perry
I had a crush on Steve Blackman when I was a little girl, dude is a legit force to be reckoned with
Man I love Saturn, he was a great worker, great move set, Rings of Saturn, Death Valley Driver. I miss hearing Joey Styles yell out " TOTAL ELIMINATION!!!! " when he tagged with John Kronus.
Joey added so much to the ECW matches, so underrated as an announcer
Like instead of oh my god when super crazy did the balcony dive "oh dios mio"
@@ComicBookGuy420 Yeah man exactly, I miss him.
Last I heard about Perry was he saved a woman and got shot in the neck. Glad to see hes still around. I miss those ECW guys.
Perry Saturn super kick counter against Glacier is an instant high light for me
Steve Blackman has a lot of respect from the guys in the back. Even Shamrock has gone on record on Blackman being legit.
I love Saturn. One of the best wrestlers to watch. Great to see him looking happy in this vid.
Nothing but respect for Perry Saturn. Straight shooter
He was one of my fav wrestlers in WCW. They had no idea what to do with him in WWE.
he was perfect as the "enforcer" for Raven's flock
@@TheRmm1976💯
@@TheRmm1976 couldnt agree more.
Ron Simmons
Dude is a fan favorite. I hope he's making an impact on the people that care about him
Yeah Steve Black ain't no joke my friend trained with him back in the day said Steve so fast quick in strong and teaching them submission and how to get out of them said Steve was getting out of submission in seconds making it look to easy.
He's a total badass he's not somebody you wanna f*** around with JBL knew better than to push his luck that's why he apologised and diffused the situation lucky for him
@brianshields7485 If people talk About Blackman like this, just imagine what an actual MMA champion could do to these guys.
My man said “Haku is indestructible.” Damn
Would love to see Perry with DDP. Perry was one of the greatest in-ring workers of all time.
They wrestled against each other many times.
The only pro wrestling personality I was ever close with, actual long time friends, is the late Bill Moody (Paul Bearer) He always talked about how tough Rick Rude was and how he hated traveling with him because he got off on fighting. Loved it…..but he also said Steve Blackmon was a legit scary individual, like a certified killer. He said he never bragged about it, never ran his mouth, but he was as legit as they come. Bob Holly lived and worked in the same area as Bill (where I live) and was known to knock out plenty of people on the local tough man circuit but even he himself would never try Steve Blackman. He said “that’s the one, that’s the kind of guy that could snap your neck before you finished talking shit”. I believe it.
My god IMO best shoot interviewee ever on your channel Perry is excellent, cant wait for the full upload
Imagine Steve Blackman vs Meng OHHH LAWD!!!!!!!!!!!
Much love to Perry, I hope we get to see him more on podcasts and the fan circuit. Thanks for interviewing him.
The lethal weapon Steve Blackman is a serious dude. A college acquaintance worked out at the same gym out by Harrisburg as Steve (before his wwf run) claimed he was no one to mess with
Seen him wrestle in Revere Massacre. Boston. Him and Kronos were incredible. I was benching 305 at the time and he made me look like a little kid. What a physical specimen Perry was.
Good to see Perry so lucid given what he’s been through. He’s a great interview.
Teddy long told that steve blackman - big show story, it's on RUclips, really wish I could hear their versions of the story.
On an ep of the E&C podcast Christian told a story of how he often thought about how Steve Blackman could probably kill everyone in the locker room one by one and there'd be nothing anybody could do about it.
Lovely to hear Perrys voice and opinions and i wish him well and all the best, one of the nicest guys and a super talent In the ring I loved him and still do
Funny he mentions Robbie (Rick) Steiner. When Saturn was in WCW I always felt like he would have made a great third man teaming with Rick and Scott Steiner
I didn’t know how much I would enjoy old wrestler stories. Live your channel bud
I love these interviews they save the history of wrestling which would otherwise get lost forever. And James is an amazing interviewer. Always focuses on the wrestlers and not himself.
Great interview. Wrestlers always seem at ease in your company.
I remember Perry's rivalry with Raven in WCW. That was good stuff.
Love seeing perry clean and telling some good old stories looking good i know how it feels being on the wrong end of addiction!
These are so good.
Great interviews
It's so good to see perry doing well considering how he was a few years back!
Ravishing Rick Rude legit bad ass the greatest WCW United States and International Heavyweight Champion
Yeah but two cops? I am pretty sure that didn't happen.
Professional wrestling has historically always been full of legitimate tough guys. You got guys that started in professional wrestling then went on to fight for real like Brock Lesnar, Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Craig Pittman, Kazuyuki Fujita, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Lashley, Kazushi Sakuraba, Alberto Del Rio, Rodney Mack, Sean O'Haire, Palmer Cannon, Bart Gunn, Bobby Fish etc
Many shooters that excelled in amateur wrestling or other grappling arts and knew how to cripple someone like Danny Hodge, Kurt Angle, Lou Thesz, Bad News Allen, Chris Taylor, Mad Dog Vachon, Tracy Smothers, Bruno Sammartino, John Tenta, Steve Williams, Steve Blackman, Stu Hart, Toru Tanaka, Santino Marella, Scott Steiner, Otis, Baron Corbin, Bron Breakker, Hunico, Bret Hart etc
Then you got the guys who weren't trained shooters but could hold their own with anybody like Haku, Peter Maivia, Harley Race, Sika, Afa, Cocoa Samoa, Ed Sailor White, André The Giant, David Schultz, Perry Saturn, Brian Pillman, Butch Reed, The Godfather, Gypsy Joe, Tony Halme, Booker T etc
Unless you were a trained fighter the chances of beating even half of these guys is very unlikely.
Fantastic worker so underrated HOF definitely
"4 in the morning on a Sunday" I know what the problem was.
For everything he has been through he speaks well and has a great memory
So good to see Perry talking wrestling here today 👍
You should have a long form interview wiht Perry. He is a goldmine.
I am glad to see Perry. I worry for his healthy. He always seemed like a good dude.
Thank you for your contribution perry
It's crazy how much he looks like Balls Mahoney did just before he passed away... I'm glad to see Perry still clean and sober. He was one of my favorite wrestlers!!
I like how he names Rick Rude.....to finish a match after that INSANE injury in Japan can only cement one as one of the toughest in the business.....
Who ever thought his face tattoo would be something so many people do now... Lol hes awesome though. Always loved watching him!!!
Perry was my favorite Radical.
That Haku story is fantastic.
Saturn is a legend the rings of saturn was dope i remember he would lock it in and be rollin his head around 😂
Perry had a sweet flying leg drop.
Rings of Saturn man he was definitely cool character cheers
So good to see Perry ❤
Nice to see Perry doing well
This guy is great. Knows his place in the pecking order & respectful!
Thank you perry
One of my favorite people ever! Love ya Perry!
Perry looks good. Good to see him well.
Oh Man Perry Saturn i cant believe it.He was such good Worker.I am so happy he is healthy again.
Perry shouldn’t sell himself short, I know he’s humble but he was legit back in the day also. Even if you’ve never seen him in real life action you can just tell, and I completely buy that story with him and Brock. I’ve been re-watching some Perry Saturn matches from the attitude era recently against Eddie Guerrero and Fully Loaded 2000 etc, man Perry was criminally underrated in the ring, his physique and his look too.
Man it’s good to hear from Saturn.
The whole Scott Norton thing was just 2 guys having fun. Both knew the outcome, yet they still went for it for the sake of it, lol
Awesome listening to some of the legit tough guys like Saturn talk about the REAL Alpha Males in the WWE.
This was after Rude was hurt. Imagine before?
Hang on. This clown is saying Rude had no chance against Haku? Is he serious? I don't think Rude would agree with him. Rude was scared of no one.
That Tyson face tat...
The Big Show sweep thing seems to be Blackman sometimes, Shamrock sometimes.
I was the only kid growing up that adored Perry Saturn and Raven. I was always Saturn on WCW REVENGE. Great fuckin guy.
LOVE SATURN!!!
Haku, that is a bad bad man
The only thing that gets me is that every time a pro wrestler, however tough, gets in the ring with a professional fighter they get humbled. Being realistic there are plenty of MMA fighters who’d take a peak Haku.
Rick Steiner getting humbled by Vordel Walker. Bam Bam Bigelow and Kimo, Tony Halme. Plenty of supposed tough guys fell at the first hurdle.
Guys like Brock, Lashley or even Jack Swagger are obviously legit.
Anyone who tests themselves in real professional fighting has a right to known as a tough guy, the rest is just a work. Brawl For All showed how bad some supposed bad ass wrestlers look in real combat.
Being 6’3 and 280lbs you have an advantage over 99.9% of people. Put a trained pro fighter the same size in front of you and it’s a different story.
I'm pretty sure some of these prime wrestlers could beat the breaks off a MMA fighters.
ryanmclaughlin1255 I'm pretty sure those dudes could still beat your ass.
ryanmclaughlin1255 why is it im having a hard time believing you.
@ryanmclaughlin1255 fighting your female cousins in your mom's basement isn't combat training. Grow up kid
Perrys looking great. He was way underated since he was short. He's still in my top 10 wrestlers from an ability standpoint. I
He's also from Cleveland like me so that helps lol
He seems to be in a much better place mad luv to original legend
😊
Looking great perry
As a kid I didn't know the top card from the lower card but late 90s midcard Saturn was awesome. He had one of my favorite movesets on wcw/nwo revenge and it was fun watching his bald head do the thing when he did rings of Saturn. If you want the best story ever look up his raven/moppy story. It involves a dildo helmet, drugs, flooding 2 hotel floors, prostitutes, fighting cops naked, a slip and slide, a mop and a new game that should be in the olympics. I gave away alot but you have still have no idea. They told it in one of those interviews where the guy pulls drugs out of a bag and asks them which wrestler associates with them most
If I got a dollar for every time I heard “Haku badass”
Perry a class guy. Nice person
Aw, he seems to be doing a bit better than when I last saw him.
Saturn seems like a really good dude and honest as hell.
You 100% need to get lex luger!! Always a great interview and a great guy
Mt favorite Blackman story is when he got on the ground to show off his moves and he asked big show to put his boot on his chest and he took him down and locked him up in some leg hold, the dude had he been there for UFC in the 90s would have been a killer. Thank God he stayed in wrestling and bail bonds cuz God knows he'd probably kill most guys today in the locker room.
Saturn seems so cool
Perry Saturn is no joke.
The real story here is Perry Saturn used to square up with the Steiners and Brock out of boredom
Perry seems to be in good spirits, at least during this interview. Hope he's doing better for himself.
Saturn vs Sgt. Craig Pittman would've been epic in both men's prime
In a shoot? Saturn was tough but Pittman would have destroyed him, he was arguably the toughest man in WCW when he was there.
@@kevthegoat8774 Pittman likely would have won, but Saturn would’ve made him work. Pittman was a marine, Saturn was an army ranger…..it would’ve been good to watch.
@@skyblaze616 Go to the 7 minute mark of this video, this is Pittman destroying a Kickboxer with ease in the 1995 Vale Tudo tournament. Pittman was a better wrestler than Rick Steiner and Brock Lesnar who both would tie Saturn in knots.
