  • My OEM intercooler is WAY too small for the performance I'm after. So I'm upgrading to Wagner Competition intercooler that I bought from ‪@034motorsport‬
    I'm also tuning to E85 fuel AND stage 2 transmission tune with 034!

    This makes me want to get an intercooler for mine

    I installed the Wagner intercooler a few months back in my B9.5 SQ5. I'm definitely not a fan of the janky, self-tapping screws they use for the bumper bar. I mean, it's fine but other companies go to the trouble of engineering proper top brackets that mount in OE locations. For the premium that Wagner charges they should have spent a little more time in R&D making proper mounts.

    Hi there. I like Your videos pretty funny man specially (a lot more hot mams checking You out lol). Thinking of getting one of these cars. Question, do you have to do any changes when switching to E85. Like fuel pump or any engine components? Thank You

    • @midlifemods
      @midlifemods  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! No special hardware is required for th e85 tune; however, a lot of people install fuel sensors to ensure they're running the right levels of ethanol. I chose not to because I didn't want to mess with the fuel line. No fuel pump mods are required unless you go up to stage 2 or 3 I believe. A company called Fuel It offers blue tooth fuel sensors that a lot of people use.

      I agree! It won't happen again. It was a one-time oversight. I don't have a production crew. It's just me doing camera, audio, writing, editing... everything. For this video, I just goofed with the aspect ratio. Won't happen again.

    Hi! I found your channel from watching Jeremy and Adam's (VAG-uh) channel. Really like your content!
    I just dropped an intercooler into my 2023 S4 but not sure what to do with the old one so just curious if you kept it or sold it and why. Thanks!

    Do you regret not getting the S-Sport package with the sport rear diff? I couldn’t imagine mine without it.

    • @midlifemods
      @midlifemods  Год назад +1

      Great question. Honestly, I wasn't going to buy anything less than a prestige trim with the sports package. I made an offer at a dealership, and the deal fell through. Then I found this one, and I started to realize it was perfect for mods and had the retro instrument cluster I liked. And I thought to myself "I don't need the B&O sound system because I'll be listening to the engine most of the time, the sports diff adds a tiny bit of weight and is more expensive to maintain or replace, I want a pure driving experience on track... so is the extra money really worth?" And I decided, for me, that it wasn't worth it. The appeal of modifications to a base model and a more pure driving experience in terms of rear traction was it for me. Plus, I live in southern California and don't worry much about ice or wet roads. I bet the sports diff inspires a lot of confidence and make pushing your car that much more fun, but for me, I don't regret it. But then again, it could be a case of "I don't know what I'm missing" 🙂

      @lynxmh Год назад +1

      @@midlifemods probably much more of a case of you don’t know what you’re missing. I’m in Dallas, Texas and icy and wet. Roads are not a concern, but having a car that has the driving dynamics of a rear wheel drive base vehicle are a big importance to me. I do have a prestige, but, it’s not what I was seeking. My girlfriend has an S Q5 that is a premium plus and we love that just as much but that is of course because it has the S sport package as well. When we drove models without it there was definitely a difference. Because you tracked the car, I would think that it would’ve been a big deal and that’s why I ask. It really maximize the potential of not only the stage, one tune, but warm, portly the TCU tunes capabilities because of the torque split heavy to the rear in dynamic mode.
      I sincerely appreciate your response, and I am a big fan of the channel representing Texas as the midlife Audi modder. And 034 really needs to get you a sponsorship as indicated previously.

    You should REALLY, REALLY, REALLY install an ethanol sensor if you are going to run E85. All E85 at the pump is not created equal.

    • @midlifemods
      @midlifemods  10 месяцев назад +1

      The e85 in my area is all supplied by the same supplier so I think I'm good. I stick to the Chevron station by my house. Seems to be reliable.

    • @IainB
      @IainB 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@midlifemods Yea, I get it. These engines and ethanol tunes can get finicky if the ethanol content isn't just right. An ethanol sensor is a real easy install, if it were me I'd install it for the piece of mind of knowing for sure that the E content is correct for the tune. Great content btw. 👍

      @Japplesnap 9 месяцев назад

      @midlifemods Yes. It's good if you didn't notice it, but larger volume intercoolers definitely have a negative impact on response because the boost is delayed. It bothered me enough to downsize a bit, but still stay bigger than OEM. As you mentioned, once you start pushing more power, you need to keep temps under control.
