Finally found my way to your channel after seeing you on Inforunners so many times. So glad I finally did! Like 99% of us, your choices are deeply personal, but what separates Citizens like you is that you have t he game play behind your choices. I'd say that anyone who's played as much, and experienced the ships as much as you have, has a grasp of what works.
Something I feel I have made a mistake with for my own fleet is applying any CCU chains before a ship has been released I currently have an Orion and BMM which I feel could have been gotten cheaper if I had just waited and slowly acquired more advantageous CCUs. So I was happy to hear for you that you are still building your CCU chain for the BMM.
Thanks for the video. Always interesting to hear what veteran players have to say about their experiences with various ships.

Splendid. Always good to hear your reasoning and thought process behind this, especially as you understand larger ships ships need support. Merry Christmas!

Love your fleet and thought process. For me the Perseus is an extremely efficient combat ship. With four persons you can effectively tie up a big chunk of any enemy fleet. It's also well suited for convoy escort duty.

My only disagreement here is a technicality on the med bay issue. All ships in real navies will have at least a medical station onboard, with usually a corpsman/medic or two assigned. Not a full size hospital or anything, but enough to stabilize you until you can get to somewhere better. Thats what I wish these ships had. It doesnt have to be a full medbay you can respawn in, just something to stabilize you long enough to get you to a proper facility.

    • @Adjudicator1
      @Adjudicator1 7 месяцев назад +2

I agree. Even large industrial ships SHOULD have a dedicated medical room - if a proper treatment facility is not feasible due to size, something like an infirmary with medical supplies geared towards stabilising injuries or patching up minor injuries would be sufficient enough to at least give assurance to the crew.
This goes double for the Reclaimer, since salvage crews can and have detected / stumbled onto still-surviving crew members during salvage operations in the present day.
Before anyone claims that such a situation is inconceivable, I will reference the Tug Jascon-4 which capsized and sunk on 26 May 2013, off the coast of Nigeria.
Due to the rapid sinking and lack of distress beacons / calls, it was assumed all the crew perished and a salvage team doing retrieval and recovery operations called in. One of the salvage divers was surprised at encountering a survivor who managed to survive in an air pocket for over 60 hours.

One thing to add- if you don't enjoy using or flying the ship - do you really want to keep it? Even if you managed to pick it up cheaply via CCU's. The revers of that - if you enjoy flying and using that ship, maybe add it to your list. Nice initial point about only using disposable income for ship purchases.

Seeing this late, but loved this! Thanks for sharing your thoughts about your fleet -- especially regarding the 'inconsistency' in rationale. I definitely am working through a similar blend of logical and emotional reasons for targeting certain ships. Sometimes the two complement each other, other times they conflict. Newly subscribed, and happy belated New Year!

Seems like a solid fleet. Percy should be a lot of fun with hit and runs, generally feel it will be better in terms of time/use, (Polaris is just too many crew/a Weekender at best).
Def agree CCUs are needed for some like the Prowler, the Idea of it is great but it's a ~200ish ship not a 400+ one.

(aka Chipperdoc) I'll admit, I came here because of the Perseus ( ;) ) but great to see your fleet composition and the reason behind it. I have some of those myself! By the way, if you want to borrow the Reclaimer at some point to try it out, I have one with upgraded components you can use.

There is so much about design and intent that is misunderstood. You being on ships irl and the comments about fluidity of movement that you have seen, it is obvious how many people are mistaken about roles on a ship crew. The stoker is never going to, nor is he meant to come forward from the boiler to operate the radar or sonar station! He is meant to work and die in the engineering section! If repairs need to be made.. he will make the repairs in the engineering section or an adjacent compartment. Cross trained in firefighting and first aid but those would also be used in his section.
I think everyone is going to want an exciting job in the video game world one that lets them be the movie hero. This leads to a lot of solo game play in MMOs.
    Thanks for the video!

I got the exact same moment with the reclaimer! what a moment!
I thought about to upgrade my vulture to the reclaimer but that would not do it for me.
I plan to use it as snub ship for my crucible parked in the bay If I repair with it and to harvest materials on the fly if something cant be fixed.
Would you consider the Crucible instead of the Vulcan?
Really like your Videos Badgers keep it up ! Always like to see you at Inforunners with Exe and Algared and others always fun to watch you guys!

I accidently made 2 lti bmm ccu's back when they were still 250 and threatening to purge $0 ccu's. I'd be willing to send it over for that (rsi gift card or whatever) so I can fill the gaps in my crucible ccu chain. Was going to turn the spare into a crucible originally but $0 were gone by then.
The ccu game is always a big old mess so figured I'd give a content creator I enjoy a 2nd option since it's collecting dust and I've got unaplied ccu's for the soon tm big ships if I ever wnat to go that big.
