Nice build. I love the simplicity and practicality of your settler ships. I have an idea for your next series. Sporting yachts. Small, fast, luxurious boats that can compete in boat races. Rules. A-class only, no starship design ranks. Have to have no more than one companionway and a captains quarters. Has to have a mobility of 100 and speed of 150, and one weapon type. Do one from each ship manufacturer. 😁
While that type of design could be interesting to do as a small challenge, I already felt like I was running into issues of diversifying my caravan series, as there just wasn't all that much that you can do with the limited hab space. The design also feels far too similar to my corvette series, which is more military grade patrol boats, designed for a small crew to do small scale policing or local system defense (note, I already have several ships built for this, just need to get around to recording them). While the corvette class doesn't have restrictions about starship design, since they are supposed to be more budget warships, you can certainly make a case for one or more of them to not use advanced designs for budgetary reasons. So rather than building some sporting yachts, keep your eyes open for my corvette series and I'll make sure to put at least one or two in that would follow the no starship design restrictions.
