NORTHERN PIKE ICE FISHING IN MAINE WITH 3 PB's on SABATTUS LAKE

- A couple weeks before the Sabattus Lake Pike Derby we got out for an awesome day on the hardwater while ice fishing for Northern Pike and Crappie. We had some wild fish catches for sure! Three PB's caught during this episode.

Man those were some slab crappie. Wow I never seen a tip up like the one with the rod and reel on it before.

Awsome,never seen a speckled pike must of been sick if it was bumpy!

Have you gone out pike fishing this year? 4 of us went today stayed till 1 got 12 fish mostly pike and about 25 flags between us and every one around us doing alot of running best day I have had fishing there

the spots on the small pike were parasites... and every pike that bleeds like that is a goner for sure. probably should have kept a few of those that were going to die. thanks for sharing! really shows that single hooks definitely don't protect deep hooking them that's for sure. what is the reason for the single hook law? if it doesn't reduce the chance of deep hooking fish. good luck this season coming up.
I think the speckled pike is cross between pike and pickerel not a trout. Just found your channel.

I think so, I heard it’s a mess
its gonna be rather dangerous this year i feel, normally need to be out on the ice by 230 or 3 to get a spot and the ice isnt thic enough to support the amount of vehicles on it only 13 inches last i knew and last year there was a 3-4 lane highway of vehicles on the east side, i fear some ones going threw. but it is a crazy time normally fireworks and stuff, at like 3 or 4 AM , i wont make it out this year as my fishing partner had to work .

Totally depends on weather, maybe late to mid march
Do you eat those?
Only the crappie and yellow perch, we throw the pike back.
@@JoeHollandFishing pike is excellent eating. You should try one someday. Do the five fillet method, no bones.

Anywhere on the north end is very productive
