    Myself and 7 other use to ice fish Chusuncook. We use to rent s small cabin by the lake house. Our fishing location was Togue Ledge. We use to put the traps so far away we had to use binoculars to see them. To mark them we would put put pine branches next to them. It looked pretty awesome with 40 traps in the same area. The locals use to laugh and call us the flat landers that plant a forest on the lake. The one and only time we did not fish Togue ledge we fished on the north side of the island. We left early because of heavy snow. When we got back the owner of the camp came to us and asked if we had scene a pair of cross country skiers. Because it was believed they were lost. We did see them. But they were at the time heading in the wrong direction. But by the time we found them they were so cold they could not move. So we loaded them onto the trailers and left our equipment behind. Lucky for them 3 of us were EMT's. If we hadn't found them more then likely the ending wouldn't be good.

    Outstanding video of Katahdin. Unless you're in the south, Katahdin dominates from most points Maine. Just under a mile high. It's our mountain, with a unique razor's edge that mighty dangerous on a blustery October day.

    For goodness sake get some hole covers! Breaking ice or getting snow out of a hole while a fish is on is an absolute pain! Piece of carpet works, though it tends to soak up water. Otherwise they make foam ones, or I've heard of people cutting one out of those black squares people use as flooring in their portable shelters. But definitely worth having!

  • @TacksWurld
    @TacksWurld 2 года назад +1

    Curious as to why you don’t use hole covers with your tip-ups ( traps) ? especially with the harsh environments you fish in.
