I went ice fishing with my wife then she got sick wife cancer we had to go down state when we were down there some one broke in our home an took all of my fishing stuff an a lot of other stuff I would like to go a gain I just don't have the money to do it anymore for every one I wish you all good luck an stay safe .
That was fun to watch. How much ice is on the lake, and how deep were you fishing? We’ve had a fairly mild winter in PA as well. Not too cold and very little snow. It’s ok by me though. Heading to Florida in a couple weeks for a long weekend to see my daughter and family. I have a new grandson to meet for the first time. My future hunting/fishing buddy.
Stay tuned for part 2! There was about a foot of ice. Not much snow and the nights have been relatively cold (sub zero) so our lakes in northern Maine have pretty good ice...not the case in southern Maine. We were fishing some just under the ice and others just off the bottom. Congrats on the grandson! That's exciting!
Paul, I know you did a podcast in which you discussed wool. I’d like to get some green or camo wool for hunting our extended muzzleloader season here, but since Woolrich closed up shop I’m having a hard time finding quality stuff. Can you recommend a brand with a web site I might be able to order from? What’s your favorite?
My absolute favorite wool is from Filson and Johnson...quality stuff. Big Woods Bucks and STAGR both produce wool apparel that is geared towards the northeast deer tracker. I haven't used their wool clothes (other than STAGR wool gloves (which I love) and the Big Woods Bucks belt pack (which I also love)) so I can't vouch for the quality. In this ice fishing video I am wearing a Filson wool jacket which is hands down the warmest jacket I own. I have a Johnson wool jacket I have worn every deer season since I was 14...and I still wear it all season to this day. That's almost 30 years of use...that says something.
I fished that same spot last March and had similar results to what you guys had. I’ve done really well there in the spring time though and mark a lot of really nice fish on the bottom, so they’re definitely over there.
Awsome video man
Thanks! Glad you liked it👍
New Subscriber. Im TheDowneastDigger, outdoors in Maine all the tine!

Big thanks to Jeremy and his family, they saved my bacon.

What jacket are you wearing? Thanks for sharing! 👍
Filson double mackinaw wool cruiser. Warmest jacket I own. Glad you enjoyed it👍

Excellent video! Too bad the fish weren't playing right!
Thanks! Always fun regardless 😁 (but good fishing doesn't hurt😂)

I’ve been looking at the Filson and the Johnson. I’ll check out the others. Thank you.
My pleasure 👍

Nice! Dan had been wanting to try that spot for a while. Was the perfect day to venture out there. You never know unless you try! Thanks for watching👍
Enjoyed the video, aside from sled trouble looks like a great day on the ice.
Pizza looked delicious also.
Regards
Mark
Thanks Mark! It was a gorgeous day!
Looks fun. Down here in West Virginia it doesn’t always get cold enough to go ice fishing anymore
We had a blast this past weekend. Yeah, even up here, we are getting a late start due to the mild winter.
Paul.. seeing guys going thru the ice up here in Northern MICHIGAN... TO mild of winter.
Yeah, we were definitely late getting out this year. Crazy how mild of a winter it's been.
What do you guys use for bait on Brook trout
Shiners and smelt. Some use worms.
dead battery... so much for those EVs from BIDEN
Imagine one on a -40 degree morning😂
