Paid off my car in December. Whoop Whoop! Did if faster because of doing the Budget Sheet each month. Now that money I' need to put toward paying off my dental bill because right now it is 0% and at the end of May it bumps up to, I believe 26% so that is my goal.
My realization on the importance of having pet savings came after both my cats had ER visits in the same year for a total of $1,400. The only way to afford that was with the stimulus money given out a few years ago. Stimulus check gone but my fur babies are still here. I never want to be surprised by that again.
I am so happy we have a pet emergency fund coz our rescue dog has been sick for the last 2 yrs. Unfortunately, we have used up everything because I went to ML for a year. Now I am focusing in building up our emergency funds again. Hoping 2023 will be better for all of us pet parents. 💙
I love how you are seasoned professionals at this but still get caught out occasionally, makes it more human and makes me feel not so bad about screwing up occasionally. Love watching and thank you
I have a cat mollyann she's my baby she goes to the vet once a yr for checkup she did have a bigger vet bill this December and I saved for this 551.00 she had her check up distemper and her teeth cleaned she needs 1 tooth pulled in May 2023
I'm happy to see y'all back after life-happens moments. You really have easy to follow numbers, but those still feel like real life instead of just numbers on a page. Thanks for being real and sharing your ups and downs 😊
Hello Great to see you both back. I have the building blocks course, is there a PDF Budget by PayCheck included in the course or document to fill out my budget? Thank you 😊
You guys just made me remember the cat in our house is mine and now I realize I should have an emergency fund for him. Love these videos, thanks so much for doing them.
100% agree on pet emergency fund. Our youngest K9 fur baby had a seizure a couple of months ago. Thankfully it was just one but It totally threw a wrench in the budget. I was fully expecting if any of them had any issues it would be our oldest K9 fur baby.
Totally agree. I work in a vet clinic and I talk to people that had to pay for emergency all the time, most emergency hospitals for pets require at least $100 cash for the appt, no credit card or even checks, and that’s not including any of the treatment. My own cat had a routine dental cleaning and had to have a tooth pulled which cost $300 extra I was not expecting
Just saying hi and following up with a project you mentioned a long time ago. You mentioned that you were going to create a planner for people that are debt free and focused on investment.
Pet insurance covers you for legal costs also if your pet is involved in a car crash where it has caused the accident or if it's bitten someone or destroyed someone elses property. Also covers you legally if someone deliberately hurts your dog. Vet bills is the secondary reason I have insurance
Any tips? I have ADHD and as a single parent with pets I really struggle managing and knowing where my money is going especially because its out of sight out of mind with my bank app and card vs cash. If I’m tired we will do drive through or spontaneous snacks, how do I keep track of each category I’m taking from if it’s all coming out of one account?
Have you tried using cash envelopes? That will help you assign a certain $ amount to each envelope and give you a visual as to how much you have left to spend in each area. Any meal prep you can do in advance would be a big help too, because you can pull cooked meals from the fridge rather than paying for takeout.
@@andreamaresh6958 hey, thanks for your response, I appreciate it. I haven’t tried cash envelopes since my early twenties because my bills are on autopay to make life easier. But I could do a cash envelope for things like eating out and entertainment.
@@SS-in1ts Even doing cash envelopes for eating out and entertainment helps a lot because it brings awareness as to how much you are spending in those areas. Now for a little hard love...when the amount of cash runs out in either envelope, that's it! Try not to steal from remaining envelope(s) 😉.
I have a oopsie fund for our animals. My dog jumped our fence and miscalculated and I had to kvech at the insurance for reimbursement and then he had a seriously upset stomach that cost another couple hundred. Well I'm a bit drained now I personally love our insurance because it covers his prescribed food, flea/tick and heartworm medication. And as a big dog that's a huge savings
I love this...I have a cat and I take her yearly for shots at a not for profit vet and they are excellent. I love Cabo we went a few years ago and I definitely would go back. Now that you are married are you going to put away for a yearly anniversary trip? I'm enjoying the book and plan to really get into it this week.I'm so busy ugh
STORMS - amen we need the snow or maybe NOT ??? so glad you made it safely - we are here for it all :) glenda FUDGE I AM SOOOOO SORRY about the pet costs so with the baby - NOW is the time to save and not spend - she wont remember the holidays but in a couple of years it will matter - conserve now while you can - and yes - babies are very very expensive and she is SOOOO blessed to have you
Just purchased your digital BBP planner and trying to sort out the month of January and it is such a mess ha. We have quite a few budget categories that will go up next year too, so feels so chaotic.
I’m in need of help with the budget. I’ve seen you review others financials and give them advice. How do I get you to do that for my situation and what does it cost?
First, yay, a new video! This account is my downtime/encouragement/re-invigorating content choice :) Question: what resort do you recommend for Cabo? Never been and sometimes even skeptical to going. I need recommendations!
Hi Liz! It's going, but I'm taking a pause on my extra debt payments until I can build my EF back up! I have one private student loan that is less than $5k, then I have federal student loans as well equaling about $15k which I haven't been paying on!
depends on the insurer, I know someone who had it cover about 80% of his dogs cancer treatment for example. However some may exclude certain conditions depending on the breed (which is why i didnt bother 10yrs ago, they wouldnt cover hip dysplasia surgery), so its best to call around/do your research for one that suits you in your country.

Hello
Great to see you both back.
I have the building blocks course, is there a PDF Budget by PayCheck included in the course or document to fill out my budget?
Thank you 😊
You’re doing a recap for October! We’re in December got to get quick and jump up and catch a head. Can’t wait to watch the video.
You guys just made me remember the cat in our house is mine and now I realize I should have an emergency fund for him. Love these videos, thanks so much for doing them.
I have 1 of 2 dogs on apoquel and I order it from a company in Canada - saves HALF of the cost from the vets office.
WHAAAT!? What's the company?

@@thebudgetmom I have a shorts video about how to save TONS on pet meds and list the info in description.

Does your purple binder open up? Or is it a fixed spiral binder? Been looking for it.
I’m from Spokane too!! Crazy weather for sure
We did a DNA for our rescue and it connected us with his brother and sister
With inflation how the heck do you spend so little on food and gas?!
She traveled twice that month so she didn’t count those categories really

If you can say what breed testing did you use? We rescued puppies and would love to find out what they are
The one we use at my vet clinic is called Wisdom Panel and they sell it at petsmart, it’s pretty accurate and gives you an entire family tree
We used Wisdom Panel!
