The price tag on the Numskull Quarter Arcades makes it hard to pick up every one of them like I wish that I could, but they have quality and attention to detail that rivals New Wave Toys and there is something about the larger ones 1:4 scale that makes these just exceptionally playable-it draws you in and feels so much like playing the real machine I wanted so bad to get one that was signed by Kevin Eastman that I hesitated and haven’t grabbed this one yet, but sooner or later I think I will “need” one. 😂
Haha yes I "needed" it as well. Yeah the price will definitely make it tough to buy them all but you're right their quality and detail make them worth the money. This is my first numskull product and I'm very impressed
Just to let you know, the 2 doors under the player select buttons open up to reveal x2 USB ports behind each door so you can plug in 4 quarter arcade USB controllers in for 4 players at once rather than using the sticks on the control deck ( I would be using controllers only after testing the control deck once to make sure all sticks & buttons are working. That way I won't get any wear & tear on the aesthetics of this beautiful looking cabinet) 😉
@@SKULLK0LLECTOR yep you're right! I found that out after haha. When I review stuff like this I go in completely blind because I like to give my honest true reaction and opinion. A lot of people open things up before hand, then pretend when they open it on camera it's the first time. The only downfall of the way I do it is that sometimes I might miss something haha. But at least you know the reaction and opinion is genuine. You're right though this thing is so amazing looking. These guys do amazing work.
@The_Bad_Guy. yep I totally understand. It is better for catching a genuine reaction on video. It's both cons & pros opening & not opening 1st. Best is probably to watch other reviews to know about everything an item has so u dont miss it in your own video, & at least that way your reaction is still genuine opening it 1st time in hand on camera still...but then again u mentioned u don't watch others reviews so that you don't get caught up with what others opinions are about it so you're not bias in a way lol. In this case maybe at least have a quick skim through the instructions only, then inbox the item after
@@SKULLK0LLECTOR yes exactly that's a very good point. I'm no pro by any means haha. I learn by doing. But I'm glad you watched and hopefully enjoyed it.
That's kind of what I thought too haha. Either way it's sooo cool. If they are all 300 bucks then i will obviously have to pick and choose the ones I want. That's too much to collect them all haha
Great review Mike and the cabinet looks dope! Wait until I get my TMNT cabinet done from a Simpsons Arcade1up! I have my sideart and CPO coming this week hopefully. Also I have a 4 player custom control deck, modded with a Dell SFF PC maxed out and has a Dell 2007FPB 20" monitor with custom TMNT screen bezel with monitor mount from Tulsa arcades. And an OG TMNT slip on marquee from Szabo's! As well as some other custom touches which I won't reveal yet. lol With in regard to the OG TMNT music not being on the Arcade1up. Why don't you throw a PC in there? It is pretty easy, then you can have the OG game running along with many others. Just a thought man.
Damn looks like your cabinet is going to be sick! You have to share at least a picture when it's done.... Honestly with my A1up TMNT it's probably not worth the time and work at this point. I'm hoping they will do an XL version of it. But we'll see. If not I may mod it like you said.
@@The_Bad_Guy. Thanks man! Oh I'll do better than a picture as I'll do a video on it too. lol Yeah it would be cool if Arcade1up released an XL TMNT. But I have a bad feeling that they lost the license to that and many others. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
@@atranfanaticthat's awesome! Definitely do a video on it! Something is going on with A1up that's for sure. You may be right about that though. The first quarter of 2024 will reveal a lot I think about where arcade1up stands. They need to start off with a bang. Whatever their best cabinet of the year is they need to lead with that to get their fan base back. Can't start out with something no one wants.
the same pt you said i take back 300 being too much is when i said it too lol. the attention to detail and getting the full actual game with song and all. explains it. i would feel more comfortable paying maybe $200
Yeah honestly 300 is a bit much haha. But it's a huge plus that they got the original song. That was a very pleasant surprise for sure. The little cabinet really is super cool I'm not gonna lie. But I would say at 300 dollars it better be one of my all time favorites or I will have to pass on them!
I would definitely use that to display with the quarter scale Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series action figures that were released from NECA to make it look like they're playing it. Of course, my quarter scale arcade game would be non-playable and would be programmed to play just a video of the full game already played by four players with no damage as well as the six character profiles of the Turtles, Splinter and April and the game over screens of two people playing as Leonardo and Michelangelo, the other two playing as Donatello and Raphael, and one playing as Leonardo uploaded on RUclips that I would use with a switch to turn it on and off.
@@The_Bad_Guy. You're welcome! I just think the quarter scale arcade game would satisfy as a display piece rather than a playable game, and if it was non-playable, it would propbably cost less than $300.
@@JoshuaModerwell oh yeah honestly these things are cool to play for a little bit then they are just very nice display items haha. There are many other better way to play most of these games. But the look of some of these mini cabinets are so good. Much better than the 3/4 scale.
Oh no that sucks! I hate hearing stuff likes that. I wonder if that's a common issue?? I don't play this Tmnt all that often either. It does look great sitting where I have it though. I'll have to keep that in mind that the monitor might have problems. Because I'd imagine once it fails there's nothing you could do.
@@The_Bad_Guy. well there’s only one video here that shows what it looks like inside the first wave of namco cabs they did, but I see no info anywhere about replacing the screen for quarter scale arcades. Very disappointing. I haven’t had that problem with the 1/6 scale from New Wave Toys so I’ll continue with those, I did buy turtles in time and so far so good, my four year old loves it.
@@punaforager yeah that's very concerning because these things are in no way cheap and shouldn't fail like that. I don't want to have a $300 paperweight sitting on my shelf you know haha. Yeah 300 is definitely very high. Like I said that price tag will definitely scare people away. You basically have to be a super fan like I am haha. Thanks for watching.
That might be the case in a few months if they are still available. I don't know how many of them were made and I didn't want to lose out on getting one.
