Ms. Perkins, I congratulate you for being so generous in letting people know the facts. People, most of the time get confused by misinformation, but you are a true teacher. Thank you.
For some who can't watch the entire video:
1. Choose a topic for your channel (Try looking at other channels for ideas, your channel can have multiple topics but try to narrow it down)
2. Who will watch your videos and why? (What kind of audience will be attracted to your content?)
3. Brainstorm 100 video ideas (just to be prepared and you will always have many ideas for a video)
4. Choose your equipment (You may start off with a phone to film with, you dont need to start with any fancy equipment and try use natural lighting🙂)
5. Decide on a filming and upload schedule (Try filming at least 1 a week to keep your viewers satisfied, quality over quantity! Also edit and upload at a good and productive time and stage)
6. Actually create your channel! (Just login with gmail and ect.)
7. Remember banner and description for your channel (So that your viewers see you are productive and focused)
8. Film your first video (You might not find it normal talking to a camera or phone but you will adjust!)
9. Edit and choose your thumbnail (many editing apps but dont choose something overly complicated👍 )
10. Upload your video edited and approved (Try your best to upload a certain time)
11. Like, comment and share (You need to boost and advertise your first video as much as possible and make sure that it gets noticed)
12. Stay consistent (At the beginning you may believe this will be amazing but later you may get tired of no growth or the same old thing but dont give up!)

Very clear and organized presentation, Gillian. As a Chartered Accountant, the past few years have been very very hectic due to professional commitments. While I have a few other interests other than finance and accounts, I never ever thought of making my own RUclips channel. Now with the Covid 19 pandemic and working out of home for the past 8 weeks, I have been able to organize myself a little better. I had produced a music album with a very famous Indian singer and a famous music director a few years back. I have now decided to do another music album with the same music director. I spoke with him yesterday and he said he saw my first production on RUclips. I was shocked as I had never put it on RUclips yet as I was planning to film the songs and then put it instead of just the sound bytes. I located my music album that was uploaded and immediately contacted RUclips to try and take it out. While this may take a while, I then decided to find out how to have my own channel, especially now that I am getting ready for my next music album production. So decided to self educate on the channel opening process. This is where I stumbled across this video of yours. It was very very helpful. The clarity you provided for beginners was really wonderful. The presentation was very well organized. A Big Thank You for the lovely video.

Just realized I think I have a problem. Before I started uploading videos I just usually count save things that I like. So I have a bunch of other playlist on my homepage that people see before they see my uploads. So, Beyoncé is probably getting more views from my homepage then my videos. Also I can’t edit my banner I have watched countless videos still doesn’t work. Should I start over with the new channel? If so can I transfer my uploaded videos to the new one or will they be lost forever? Any advice would be most grateful.

Go For It Nina! I am a veteran teacher and a Grand Ma. I love Disney and every generation since Disney started has watched the remake of their movies yearly. People spend big bucks going to the movies, buying DVD's, CD's, and downloads. Trips to Disney is a major attraction not just because of the rides but because of the characters as well. I think you have a great idea. I hope you do well with it but you won't know until you try.
