I hear people talk down about long videos. No one is going to watch that. But i love longer videos. It gives me time to tell a story, and showcase my art. I feel like making shorts is harder for me. So i appreciate that you mentioned longer videos = quality viewers.
I agree I feel like you get more information and value the longer the video is especially if you're someone who likes practicality I am not into the microwave information format I know it works for some people but I feel like you're cheating yourself out of detailed gems 🎩🧐☕
I love the long format personally. I think the key is a tier system, like a price tier, but for length... You just select what you have the time or attention for!
This is the most common sense method for using youtube that I've seen and very empowering. I'm so tired of the clickbait, throw-it-to-walls-and-see-what-sticks from the people who don't have anything to really share but just want to make money.

I watched every minute of this video. Just wow. The longest RUclips video I have watched in years. Ok, so what does that mean? 1) Your content is "SPOT ON", 2) You breathe and pause and don't try to sell anything you just teach, and it felt very personal as if we were in a one-on-one session, 3) Excellent quality camera, editing, lighting (noted), 4) You remind us to focus on the small, which is something so essential, that many miss. When this video ended I looked to make sure there wasn't more time I missed. Oh, can I say NO ADS in this video kept me here too. Excellent job!!!

This is the first video of yours I've watched, and it'se probably the most useful 'How To RUclips' video I've ever seen. The last thing I want is to be Mr Beast. Nor do I want a full time job making content, walking around town with a selfie stick behaving like one of those twat influencers and spending half the week video editing. With this strategy I can write one blog post a week, (writing is my preferred medium so I'll start there), turn it into a YT video, direct my email list to it on YT and direct its viewers to my email list, turn it into social media posts, and so on, and not become obsessed with and live on the emotional rollercoaster of vanity metrics. I've recently launched my business and was dreading/resisting the whole social media/content thing, which was holding up everything as I don't have enough of an audience to make sales, but having watched this I feel that resistance slipping away. I have to say, I have lots of channels and have been doing the majority of this from learning and testing. I would love the guide. I’m a 57 year old female. Stuck in a rut with no where to go. No idea what content I should do. Many life lessons but I’m drowning in anxiety that prevents me from going forward. To the point that i am crippled everyday to doing nothing but worry. My motto is that “ why worry about something that I have no control over so why am I making myself sick with worry. I’m hoping your inspiration videos can give me the confidence to move forward. ❤

I like to imagine life as a roller coaster sometimes. Big downs and big ups. Learn from the bottom (yourself) and learn from the top(what works for yourself) each fall hurts less and less. You got this! :)
I'm also 57 and kind of in a similar situation. I don't think I worry as much as just getting locked in analysis paralysis. Which is similar, but different. Both involve mental spinning of the wheels. The one thing I've found helpful is just being committed to taking that NEXT STEP . And, I think if we relax and just ask ourselves what that next step is, the answer usually comes to mind easily.

I'm a 67 yr old author who wrote a book that took 29 years to finish, cost me almost everything to live the story out but when it came out and began dropping readers to their knees, four of them were men, and two women had supernatural encounters while reading it, that's when I knew it was in fact an important work. It was targeted on Amazon so I pulled it and put it with a private printer, built a website, and integrated a payment processor. Then Stripe cancelled my payment acct after I gave an interview on a show that mattered...LOL. I MUST BE OVER THE TARGET! Thankfully payment processors are many so up and still going. I've been stalled, been looking for years but didn't want to build a YT/video channel but you're helping me overcome the hesitancy which is HUGE so THANK YOU! You have a new fan!

Your idea of not making FOLLOWERS the primary focus is what got me. It is refreshing that someone uses an actual flip chart still! I learned my trainer's ropes by using just that. Hundreds of pads😂 Slides become a bit non-personal, and current animated stuff csn essily distract and overwhrlm those important details. Besides, it costs a ton to get done unless you have the skill, which I still don't. I need to take tjis vid in two or three segments, but I'll get there. Thanks!

I too enjoy making the long form content way more than I do posting shorts. I was told I had to do shorts but to me it seems a waste of my time. I’m enjoying the creativity part of the long form content creation. Learning as I go, watching a lot of “how to” and posting a few videos a week. I’m almost 6 weeks in to this journey as a new RUclips Creator, it’s fun to me and a huge challenge to constantly improve my videos. I’m getting good impression rate on some of my videos but subscribers and watch hours are low still but growing slowly. 😊

Great question! It’s easy to feel like we don’t have anything to teach, but often, the skills or experiences we take for granted can be incredibly valuable to someone else. Start by asking yourself: What do friends or family often ask for your help with? What do you enjoy doing that others might find challenging? Even small skills, like organizing, gardening, or storytelling, can be powerful if you’ve mastered them. Remember, you don’t need to be an expert-just a step or two ahead of someone who’s eager to learn!

It’s not always about teaching though, you should be doing something you genuinely enjoy doing. Which maybe entertaining over teaching! So I would encourage people to do something they love instead!
Absolutely agree! Not everyone is a direct coach or program or course creator, I am a hybrid, but mostly an artist, entertainer and inspirational voice, I don't enjoy the 10 steps or the how to's etc and it's can be hard to create tight niche if you're more creative and have a mix of content, thus why I created a late night show! So it's a mix of conversations, inspiration, empowerment, comedy, music, spoken word poetry, storytelling etc, but it's still all related to empowerment and I do have a biz that it can drive to which is to help empower creators to make authentic, bold, and courageous art, creativity, and self expression that transforms and heals their own lives and to those that witness it. More experiential than how to, I am a huge fan of diving off into soul expression over info and steps. People to need to FEEL and CREATE and EXPRESS to get the full transformation.
It seems that all of it works but there just needs to be an interest in the area. With all the billions of people in the world we only need a small portion of the market. I think whatever we decide it should be consistent. I’ve listened to many on this subject but TODAY after listening to Sunny, I GET IT!!!
You’re right-doing something you genuinely love is key, whether it’s entertaining or teaching. When you’re passionate about what you’re doing, it shows, and that’s what really connects with people. I’d definitely encourage everyone to focus on what brings them joy-it’s the best way to create engaging content!
I'm making music now, for the last 3 months. I have 10 subs on my channel and no content yet. 🤣 Dropping around 7 albums soon, but I have to master all those tracks, and do a bunch of other stuff including fixing up my website a bit. I'm at least $300+ now into my musical adventure. RUclips will be a part of that, but I did look into affiliate marketing and ad revenue several years ago. I was too busy with other things, and never bothered. If I fail, at least it will be a learning experience.

I can't answer for other people, but based on being on this platform for almost a decade here's my observations - Adsense generally pays 1-3 cents per view, therefore, if you have 100,000 views you're going to make $1000 to $3000 off of those 100,000 views - but that amount that is paid is also reliant on so many different variables that it is wildly unpredictable and it puts the algorithm in control of your ability to monetize. As RUclips has grown and with the amount of content being published, monetizing through Adsense is an uphill battle because there is far more competition in every niche. This is why I harp on intention when you create content on RUclips or any platform, I approach RUclips as a vehicle for my business, I do not approach RUclips as my business.
Ex RUclipsr here. I quit at 168,000 subs and 43 million views. I uploaded content to this platform for 7 years and made a not so grand total of £12,000. Not per year. The entire time. RUclips does not pay well if you’re in the wrong niche and they take 55%. Used to be 40%. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t bother with ads, I’d do exactly what is shared in this video. You need your own offer to sell. RUclips don’t pay well and they couldn’t care less. (Not commenting from my retired account)

I struggle the most with making my content look presentable. In the past when ive tried youtube i believe my content was good for my niche but the quality was hot garbage because Im not good with video editing and stuff. I watched every minute of this video. Just wow. The longest RUclips video I have watched in years. Ok, so what does that mean? 1) Your content is "SPOT ON", 2) You breathe and pause and don't try to sell anything you just teach, and it felt very personal as if we were in a one-on-one session, 3) Excellent quality camera, editing, lighting (noted), 4) You remind us to focus on the small, which is something so essential, that many miss. This is the first video of yours I've watched, and it'se probably the most useful 'How To RUclips' video I've ever seen. The last thing I want is to be Mr Beast. Nor do I want a full time job making content, walking around town with a selfie stick behaving like one of those twat influencers and spending half the week video editing. With this strategy I can write one blog post a week, (writing is my preferred medium so I'll start there), turn it into a YT video, direct my email list to it on YT and direct its viewers to my email list, turn it into social media posts, and so on, and not become obsessed with and live on the emotional rollercoaster of vanity metrics. I've recently launched my business and was dreading/resisting the whole social media/content thing, which was holding up everything as I don't have enough of an audience to make sales, but having watched this I feel that resistance slipping away. I'm also 57 and kind of in a similar situation. I don't think I worry as much as just getting locked in analysis paralysis. Which is similar, but different. Both involve mental spinning of the wheels. The one thing I've found helpful is just being committed to taking that NEXT STEP . And, I think if we relax and just ask ourselves what that next step is, the answer usually comes to mind easily.

I'm a 67 yr old author who wrote a book that took 29 years to finish, cost me almost everything to live the story out but when it came out and began dropping readers to their knees, four of them were men, and two women had supernatural encounters while reading it, that's when I knew it was in fact an important work. It was targeted on Amazon so I pulled it and put it with a private printer, built a website, and integrated a payment processor. Then Stripe cancelled my payment acct after I gave an interview on a show that mattered...LOL. I MUST BE OVER THE TARGET! Thankfully payment processors are many so up and still going. I've been stalled, been looking for years but didn't want to build a YT/video channel but you're helping me overcome the hesitancy which is HUGE so THANK YOU! You have a new fan!

I too enjoy making the long form content way more than I do posting shorts. I was told I had to do shorts but to me it seems a waste of my time. I’m enjoying the creativity part of the long form content creation. Learning as I go, watching a lot of “how to” and posting a few videos a week. I’m almost 6 weeks in to this journey as a new RUclips Creator, it’s fun to me and a huge challenge to constantly improve my videos. I’m getting good impression rate on some of my videos but subscribers and watch hours are low still but growing slowly. 😊

Great question! It’s easy to feel like we don’t have anything to teach, but often, the skills or experiences we take for granted can be incredibly valuable to someone else. Start by asking yourself: What do friends or family often ask for your help with? What do you enjoy doing that others might find challenging? Even small skills, like organizing, gardening, or storytelling, can be powerful if you’ve mastered them. Remember, you don’t need to be an expert-just a step or two ahead of someone who’s eager to learn!

It’s not always about teaching though, you should be doing something you genuinely enjoy doing. Which maybe entertaining over teaching! So I would encourage people to do something they love instead!

Absolutely agree! Not everyone is a direct coach or program or course creator, I am a hybrid, but mostly an artist, entertainer and inspirational voice, I don't enjoy the 10 steps or the how to's etc and it's can be hard to create tight niche if you're more creative and have a mix of content, thus why I created a late night show! So it's a mix of conversations, inspiration, empowerment, comedy, music, spoken word poetry, storytelling etc, but it's still all related to empowerment and I do have a biz that it can drive to which is to help empower creators to make authentic, bold, and courageous art, creativity, and self expression that transforms and heals their own lives and to those that witness it. More experiential than how to, I am a huge fan of diving off into soul expression over info and steps. People to need to FEEL and CREATE and EXPRESS to get the full transformation.
It seems that all of it works but there just needs to be an interest in the area. With all the billions of people in the world we only need a small portion of the market. I think whatever we decide it should be consistent. I’ve listened to many on this subject but TODAY after listening to Sunny, I GET IT!!!
You’re right-doing something you genuinely love is key, whether it’s entertaining or teaching. When you’re passionate about what you’re doing, it shows, and that’s what really connects with people. I’d definitely encourage everyone to focus on what brings them joy-it’s the best way to create engaging content!
I'm making music now, for the last 3 months. I have 10 subs on my channel and no content yet. 🤣 Dropping around 7 albums soon, but I have to master all those tracks, and do a bunch of other stuff including fixing up my website a bit. I'm at least $300+ now into my musical adventure. RUclips will be a part of that, but I did look into affiliate marketing and ad revenue several years ago. I was too busy with other things, and never bothered. If I fail, at least it will be a learning experience.
It sounds like you’re diving headfirst into your music journey! 🎶 Dropping seven albums is an impressive goal, and it’s great you’re thinking ahead about mastering tracks and prepping your website. Even if things don’t go exactly as planned, you're right-every step is a valuable learning experience. Do you know why so many RUclipsrs have stopped posting? I feel like this is the one app that paid people a lot of money and so many don’t post anymore
I can't answer for other people, but based on being on this platform for almost a decade here's my observations - Adsense generally pays 1-3 cents per view, therefore, if you have 100,000 views you're going to make $1000 to $3000 off of those 100,000 views - but that amount that is paid is also reliant on so many different variables that it is wildly unpredictable and it puts the algorithm in control of your ability to monetize. As RUclips has grown and with the amount of content being published, monetizing through Adsense is an uphill battle because there is far more competition in every niche. This is why I harp on intention when you create content on RUclips or any platform, I approach RUclips as a vehicle for my business, I do not approach RUclips as my business.
Ex RUclipsr here. I quit at 168,000 subs and 43 million views. I uploaded content to this platform for 7 years and made a not so grand total of £12,000. Not per year. The entire time. RUclips does not pay well if you’re in the wrong niche and they take 55%. Used to be 40%. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t bother with ads, I’d do exactly what is shared in this video. You need your own offer to sell. RUclips don’t pay well and they couldn’t care less. (Not commenting from my retired account)

hello Sunny, your video really hit home for me. The way you describe the process made a lot of sense to me, instead of just making content. Since my niche will be centered around training dogs or something similar, im very camera shy is it some how possible to do the videos with out showing myself, this is important to me and has stopped from starting a YT channel for a long time, thank you

I struggle the most with making my content look presentable. In the past when ive tried youtube i believe my content was good for my niche but the quality was hot garbage because Im not good with video editing and stuff.
