This was a great insight into how you make your videos and had some really good tips in there! I found that 'hitting record' was sooo hard... Now only 7 published videos in... but about 250+ purely practise videos later... I'm fiiiinally starting to feel a little more comfortable about the whole ordeal.. 😅

Gillian, after watching this video and the blog vs. RUclips one you made a year ago, I came to a conclusion that my main roadblock on the way to success is that I don't really know what I enjoy the most. My main goal for starting something is to make money, take me out of poverty and misery I'm in. I don't really enjoy anything in particular, and this is the reason I find myself struggling to keep up with any particular niche. As a result, my content is quite boring and unappealing. With my tech news blog, just basically repeating what millions of other big bloggers said, I only got 8 views after a month of blogging, and I just think I'll quit and try RUclips. But I am still stuck on a niche part because again, I don't particularly enjoy anything or don't have any valuable skills (studied classical music in college, out of job now). Any recommendations? I would greatly appreciate any guidance because I'm sure there are many out there like me...
P.s. Studied music due to my mom's guidance, she loves music but I didn't know what to choose in college because I don't know what I'm passionate about.

Here are a few ideas and thoughts, if you have not found your niche yet.
      1. First of all, finding a niche is not an easy journey. It works in two ways. Some people just do something over a prolonged time because they like doing it and then, eventually they find their niche out of it. Some people put in hard work, even if they dont like what they are doing. I belong to first category where I started running many years ago and I am now a running coach. When I started running I did not know if I would become a running coach, but because I loved running and I kept running for years which gave me enough learning about the sport. The point is, it either requires your sustained effort or sufficient duration in something or some area.
      2. Making money is always one of the biggest aim for most people. But if that is the only thing that you are going to go after, it may or may not work meaning it may not give you enough steam to put in all the hard work. While it may work for some, most people wear out. You definitely need to find something else which will add steam to all your work and keep you motivated. For example, I do a few things like coaching people, writing books and articles, at the center of everything, I keep helping, supporting and uplifting people as a theme. That thought itself drives me to do all the hard work and good work, be it creating contents, reaching out potential customers, actually coaching people on the ground, etc.,
      3. Rather than losing many years over speculating about what is your niche, I suggest pick one or two ideas and try to spend solid 3 to 6 months on them. It shall definitely enlighten you about where your strength lies. For example, try reading plenty of books, listen to podcasts without any inhibitions, keep your mind open as you listen. It will open your mindset to look at something holistically and move you away from confined thoughts processes.
Hope these few thoughts helped you a bit, in terms of how you approach finding your niche. Remember this always, every outside visible success needs inner working on ourselves. The more you work on yourself with ideas and thoughts, universe will automatically send you your niche. Cheers

I’m definitely going to try the tip with the pillows! I have 16 videos so far but mine are more of b roll and voiceover and very little of me being the subject. Still trying to get more comfortable in front of the camera.
Thanks for another helpful video, Gillian!
