My DBT was found in a pool filter when she was just a few days old. She hatched in the wild. But unfortuneatly the chlorine affected her and she cant be released. She took forever to grow, and wasn't really interested in eating. I tried live food, but for a while she thought the minnows and ghost shrimp were her friends. She's 4 years old now but is still about half the suze she should be. She is a giid eater now, but it took a long time. She is one out of 6 turtles that i have, and i jokingly call her "Derpy" becayse if the way she used to be

Great video dan! And glad the little fella is doing great!🥰 oh and Omg dan my centrata layed here first eggs!!! 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately they are infertile like expected for a first clutch! But i am still happy yay 😍😂 hopefully i can have my very first own baby turtles next year! Problem is i have a male in with here and i have 2 other males seperate. They want to mate all day but she does not show intrest lol. Hopefully they will mate one day.🙏🏻

I found ur channel because of Ann Reardon. I don't know much about turtles except that snappers don't like to be helped across the road 😅
I feed my hatchling painted turtles mostly bloodworms and the carnivore frozen food. I got 4 hatchlings on April 12 and when I can distinguish who is who they are going to be named after the ninja turtles then was cutting trees in my old neighborhood and just last week I saw 2 hatchlings dead on the road so I went into find baby turtle mode and found one on the street so no I have a 5th little guy now named Jon
I must be over feeding my male diamond back. He’s ten months old and his shell is 4 1/4 inches big.
Thank you I've breed a clutch of Russian tortoises one of them is not growing at the same rate as the others it is a bit scary and any bit of information helps me thank you very much

Hey Dan I just bot 3 turtles from underground reptiles a c snapping turtle a northern red bellied river cooter and an eastern painted turtle they live with a red ear slider I hatched from one of my females they live in a 75 gallon tank is that too big once the snapper gets about 3 inches I’m moving him to my 300 gallon stock tank but that’s the only thing I currently have to keep him in when he gets about 2 inches bigger also is that too big?
