- Hey guys! Here's the first of many more "Day in the life" style sourcing videos as a full time Amazon FBA seller. We basically want to take you behind the scenes to show you what it's like to scan and source at stores. Today I bring you some Walmart footage and show you exactly what I found, and exactly how much I'll be making from these items.
Some days you'll find a lot, and some days you wont. Scanning and sourcing is an acquired skill just like anything else. I've been doing this almost 4 years, and it's my full time job... so I'm pretty darn good at it. Amazon is NOT easy... but it is VERY simple. Just scan... do the math... and repeat.
All in all, I spent about 2.5 hours shopping today. I spent about $1,000. I will sell those products for ~4,600. And my Net profit after everything is said and done will be about $1750... Not bad for half a days work! After buying all this stuff I will need to ship it off to Amazon (Though we've hired employees to do this for us). That process wont take too long, and it's already been outsourced and accounted for in my math :)
Lots of people have been asking what tools I use to scan. There are 2 main things I use:

You don't HAVE to have these tools to start, but they are incredibly valuable to my business and I highly recommend them.

Great finds! Keep in mind viewers, nearly 90% of the items he picked up you WILL be restricted to sell on amazon as a new seller, just think that should have mentioned at least once.
I don't mention that because its simple to get ungated in all of this and I assume people will do that work.

At my local Walmart I’m constantly finding Funko toys on clearance and they always have a $5+ profit 🤷🏾
They don’t all have to be on clearance don’t be a clearance retail arbitrage be all kinds just look for anything doesn’t have to be from Walmart go to marshalls! Marshalls has great deals I bought 20 $ shoes and sold them for 80$ yeah 60$ profit it’s great!
Love the video but it would be nice to see the Scoutify views in a full screen format.
There is no way to see all the data from Scoutify on your phone when watching the RUclips video on my phone.
That's as large as they can be unless I turn them sideways... which would be super annoying to look at.

So when you spent your 1000 and said you'd sell for around 4600, is the 1750 net profit after you took away the 1000 you originally spent?
That is the cleanest clearance aisle I have ever seen. My closest Walmart clearance looks like they took a dumpster of random broken crap and threw it on the shelves at the end of the day. 😂
Yeah there's lots of Walmarts that are junky, and lots that aren't. I find plenty in both.
This particular one is where rich doctors live right next to the Orlando Airport... so they keep a tidy ship.
I went to a junky one yesterday about found 15 items for $49 that I'm flipping for $250 each. So there's profit everywhere.
Hustle Buddies Official most definitely! There is at my closest one sometimes, too. I was just surprised how neat and tidy it was where you were filming. Mine are never that neat, they’re always verging on ransacked.
I remember seeing a monitor on clearance for about $80, I missed out on that since people are working from home. That would’ve probably been a good flip.

What should I do if I have an original product? But it is a food product. How could I go about shipping it?
If you pinch that wire at the top of the mask around nose 😷 you won’t have to keep pulling it up.
Ha yeah that doesnt work at all. I have a huge mouth and have never found a mask that doesnt come down since my chin forces it off.
Do you ship them to amazon only after the item is sold? And is it common for things not to be sold?
there is FBA and FBM, If you choose FBA Then ship it after listing it, and FBM you ship to customer after it gets sold

We make about 25k per year form youtube. Not anywhere close to our Amazon selling numbers, but an easy way to diversify and I enjoy teaching (I was a teacher in the past).
The world doesn't really need more lawyers anyways so I would never encourage anyone to go to law school if their goal is to make lots of money. There are much simpler paths to wealth.
I am new with all of this. So when you find, for example, just one item on Walmart clearance, how do you seel it on Amazon? do you just create a page for just one product and after is gone you delete it fro your store? What happend if other wants to buy the same thing.

No that's not really how it works at all. Think of it more like "You are stocking the shelf of Amazon" rather than the ebay model which you just described.
I recommend watching or long intro video to get a better overall idea of what selling on Amazon is :)
Great value as always! I didn't even think about using the Walmart app! Thank you so much for the info about clearance because replenishables are good but everybody wants replens, so eventually people will find and tank yours. People don't like sales/clearance items as much because they are one-off but this is the very reason they tend to make you more money and have less competition. HUSTLE ON!👍👍👍
Agreed! We do a balance of both. Clearance items gives us big money today, while replens give us reoccurring revenue for months/years. Doing both enables us to grow both now and later

Also I want to recommend that you get a day job while you start this business. Amazon is a marathon. Not a sprint. It's a TERRIBLE business to start if you have no money and need money today. It's a WONDERFUL business to start if you can build it up over a year or two.

I use a "scotty peeler" lol its like a razor blade tool, lifts the label right off! found on Amazon for less than 6 bucks. works wonders!!
Even with ppl watching the video I bet all those products still profitable
About half of them are... yup.
Why? Because people are lazy and they think this is either too hard or doesn't work... so they don't even bother getting the literal products I show them for free... lol.
What if you are gated? What if you start selling an item and suddenly Amazon wants an invoice?
If you are gated then you wouldn't be selling the product.
If you are selling something and Amazon wants to see a paper trail, they will ask you for an invoice OR a receipt and will always except itemized receipts for issues. Both work for all the issues Amazon might throw at you.
Do you have to wait until the product sells on Amazon ?

No. I personally rarely care about that metric, though if thats important to you there are other more expensive apps that can show you that.

@@CorpCoreyy You can't really compare my "now" with your "start". You also can't compare a job (doordash) to a business that you own (I'm a CEO).
Currently I work less than 10 hours a week on Amazon and am a 7 figure seller.
When I was where you are I worked 40 hours a week and paid myself $0 for an entire year.

Question: You posted screenshots with Profits around $2-$3, are these profits something you usually work with?
Sure. That's a personal preference though. There is no 100% right/wrong answer.
Lets say he makes 7$ profit , is that with the FBA fee already or no? Then he would only be making about 2-3$ profit per item sold with the FBA fee meaning he would have to sell a lot of items to make an even good living or do I got it wrong ?
You can sell a lot of small things, a medium amount of medium things, or a few big things. These are all good and viable ways to make a living.
We do all 3 and make much more than just a living.
I am selling on amazon but do not have a registered brand and still learning. Two questions... #1, do you have to have a registered brand on Amazon to sell arbitrage..& #2 Do you not get complaints for the other registered brands for selling their products on Amazon. I have approached manufactures and it was specified I could not sell their products on Amazon. Thanks!

lets say I get ungated in Bare Republic Minerals by buying from a wholesaler a specific product, and later on purchase other products of the same brand but from a place like walmart etc. Now if the brand asks me where I am getting my inventory , although I am ungated in the brand, as I purchased a specific product from a wholesaler, but not this product which I purchased from walmart. How does one handle such a situation

Great video super annoying that your mask didn’t fit.
I sell at Amazon but swore not to sell food especially Pringles. Hard for me to sell something that have an expiration date. Sometimes they have Pringles at Ralphs at $1 each so why would someone pay so much for them in Amazon? Shipping and storage would eat up most of your profit plus if the main company decides they don't want you to sell their products on Amazon that is it.
"Why would someone buy it" is what you can say about just about everything on Amazon. Turn that part of your brain off and you'll make much more money. What I would spend on something as a customer and what someone else would spend on something are entirely different things. Humanity in general is either stupid, or they value their money differently.

I have a question: I've just opened my seller central account as an individual and i want to start with retail arbitrage. they asked me to put bank info so they can make deposit when I sell. I would like to know, since i start as an individual when I sell an item from which account they will get the 0.99 ct. Cause they have my credit card info and my TD bank info.

What about seasonal items like ice scrapers and deicer spray? Or even pool floaties and other similar things? Are those good to sell now or save them for later?
