...and Posting skeptical (somewhat negative) comments seems to be the best way to attract attention these days. Here’s a genuine, sincere tip: Why not actually TRY Amazon FBA? At least then, if you can’t get it to work, you can speak with some authority & experience. My advice would also be to find an FBA Mentor, ideally one that has an Online (Video) Training Course that offers good value for money (incl. Email/Skype Support).... and before you ask, No! I don’t offer Training, but I have invested in a Course & it’s one of the best investments I’ve EVER made in my life!
Cannon Nienaber because the ride is over. it’s no longer this easy to do retail arbitrage (the technical term of what Shelby describes). And it is very risky to continue to do in the long term. Any mistakes, returns or complaints can mean a permanent ban.
You hear all the talk of how much people make on Amazon and Clickbank often they talk in millions. Have you ever worked out how much you would have to sell to make millions?. Plus I saw a video on RUclips about a year ago its easy to " adjust " your earnings on your account for the benefit of a RUclips videos.
Yeah there's a MASSIVE amount of competition out there and you have to stand out one way or another, whether it means greasing the hinges by paying to get higher in search results, faking the reviews, or just having the superior products. As the method becomes more and more saturated, the harder it is to be seen, the harder it is to actually sell, eventually you're just pissing into a sea of piss. The real winners here are Amazon, Alibaba, and this guy who wants you to believe it works. It's not an MLM but it's comparable with the way the guy tells you it 'works'.
I actually know multiple people that have been very successful at, building a high rated, well reviewed, amazon account is key as this will keep you appearing higher in search results and more likely to get the sale. another basically no risk option that works is called dropship. You sell no branded items individualy from AliExpress they take care of the all shipping costs and you get to keep whatever mark up you placed on the product.
I don't need the whole boat. Just one of the oars would be fine. It's never too too late unless the buyers have lost interest in the product. Then you move to something else.
@@coffeeseven The people holding the oars right now are folks selling tickets to "how to Amazon" seminars, and youtube influencers looking to soak up views. Big business/money has taken over the wholesale-to-Amazon business model. The market is currently saturated with well-equipped/savvy competition.
So it can be done. Ive done 7 figures a few times over 20 years. Here is the key. NOT ONE THING these people teach you will help you make money on amazon unless you first find suppliers to work with you. If you dont have an easy in or a good referral then goodluck lol. They suppliers of products get 100s of new amazon sellers a week.
GiftedCJohnson1 they pay better than every retail employer in the south. $15/hr. I’m not a huge fan of amazon, but I do know they pay their employees better than other retailers. As for videos like this one, I don’t believe much of what these folks post.
Last time I was in LA I took a wrong turn & thought I was in Kabul. Saw a bum shitting on the sidewalk. Cali's done. Put a fork in it. America's Venezuela. Move
Everyone, are you kidding? 9 out of 10 people will crash and burn with Amazon FBA. It takes guts and balls to make it in life if you don't have the stomach for it then you work from 9-5 like the Amazon employees and whine and bellyache all day long about your paycheck.
I work at a fulfillment center and I can tell you that A LOT of these items are trash, super low quality items from Asia. Great for people selling but not for buying. I also just seen in the news that since the seller never sees the products, some aren't really "allowed" in the US, like the health standards are different, and no one checks when they are sent to the warehouses.
Of course this is how it works. I also know many sellers who order products from China and then sold to Amazon. Then later those same people got out of the loop since China's manufacturer used them to test their products sale on Amazon or some other Chinese out compete them.
Thank you for saying this. I used to consider doing a drop-shipping or FBA business but the more I looked into it the more I realized that you're just adding pure crap to the world and the market. You might make some money, but no one really benefits in the long run from adding more valueless crap to the pile.
Audrey Guiden You are correct but a lot of it has to do with sellers who don't have much experience selling on Amazon. From what I understand sellers who source their products and sell on Amazon are suppose to get independent inspectors to check the inventory for it leaves the manufacturing site.. They are also suppose to do their research to make sure their product meet the standards in the country they want to sell in or their inventory with be held at customs. Sellers who sell low quality products end up getting poor reviews from Amazon customers and get stuck with inventory they can't sell, therefore losing large amounts of money.
You guys do know that these "sellers" will never really give you their tricks and trade secrets right? That is why these videos are vague for a reason, to get views and clicks.
the only secret they have is they they are really good with Facebook and Google ads. They have spent thousands on ads until they find profitable ones and then they just scale. It's a super simple business model. What they don't tell you though is the cost to get those ads is in the 5, sometimes 6 figures.
@@sharkansas_ And what they don't tell you is the net sales isn't the gross profit. "And just like that I "made" $100,000" in sales. That's $1,000 in profit.
@@ShelbyChurch Love your videos! The '7-million LA house,' 'Tesla Model 3,' and 'Morgan Yates collabs' are my favorites! Please review more coffee shops or maybe, do a video comparing different coffee brands (Death Wish, Waka, Sudden...) and explaining the different techniques (French-press, pour-over...) you use to make your cup. Sorry, I'm a big-time coffee addict. :)
I've been through this and sold on Amazon for a time. Yes you can make a lot of money, you must invest a ton of time up front before you see results, therefore this can be a big reason it's not right for everyone. Also not mentioned in this video are the Amazon FBA fee's, Amazon certainly takes a good chunk for themselves. If I remember right I was selling a product for 29.99 and amazon took $5-7, I could be a little off but not much. Don't let those video's fool you were you can start an Amazon business for 100-200 dollars, good luck with that! I'n my opinion I would have at least $5-10k in cash flow. If your product starts selling well you #1, want to make sure the inventory you have doesn't sell out in a couple days and have nothing left to sell and lose your ranking on Amazon, ranking is a huge factor trying to sell. Buyer's rarely buy from a low ranking seller, they wan't someone with good status and reviews. You also have to pay a fair bit in what they call "Pay Per Click", meaning you setup an algorythm of sorts targeting popular keywords related to your product paying a set amount you state, so when someone clicks on your ad searching one of your keywords Amazon charges you say 0.5-$2, depending how agressive you want to be. This can add up very quickly eating into any profits you may make. If anyone has interest I encourage you to try it, you may like it, or you can also very well lose your money due to a bad product, copyright infringement , trademark infringement etc. Yes you must make sure there are no patents on a product you are trying to sell, China doesn't care about patents so you must do your dudiligence to protect yourself. Don't forget the programs you will need to search for products that sell well on Amazon or have little to no sellers to compete with. There is a lot more to it than is stated in this short video, but Shelby is right, with enough effort you can succeed at this, just be patient and have the drive to keep pushing forward! Good luck.
My friend started making large buy-ins with companies to get deep discounts on product to sell on Amazon, they took a good chunk, as you stated, and they eventually cut him out after seeing what was selling well (they just started buying product from the manufacturer directly). He was forced from selling on Amazon and started developing neighborhoods in the outskirts of town instead... You offer great advice by the way, you know what you're talking about.
During the gold rush in California The people that sold the pans and shovels made more money than all of the people wanting to strike it rich with gold lmao. Gold rush money 2020
It's the same with people teaching others on how to get rich. They make more money from selling their books, videos, courses, and seminars online than how they actually make money offline.
I don’t want to make millions I want enough to feel comfortable. Be at a point where I don’t have to think twice about going out to eat or purchasing clothes.
Jeff S lol and greed making money like Jeff B is so bad because we get items in a day and cheap too. Yeah I hope we can go back to the past and tell Jeff B to not be so greedy
Amen. That is not ridiculous. And that's exactly what I want. I wanna be able to eat out everyday if I want (obviously I don't mean anymore than two or three times and for me it'd probably be two) and buy clothes if I want. Also I'd like to be able to purchase the occasional pair of ray bans . lol But for real..I'm exactly like you. I don't know how old you are but if you are in your 20s then good for you that you don't expect too much in life. Simple life is better and it took me till I was about 34 or 35 to learn that.
At the end of the day, it's a business model and one that works. You can sell on Amazon and fail if you don't know what you're doing and you can make enough to be comfortable if not more if you do. With that being said the only way to know how is to educate yourself and to fail. Only those who seek this risk-reward will actually take action and do it.
@@alicedell8595 Your point is definitely valid, but I'm speaking from experience as an Amazon Seller myself that selling on Amazon is still profitable in 2019, and not over-saturated like many seem to think. That's all.
I’ve already try doing this. Sounds amazing but FBA is super saturated now and Amazon takes most, if not all of your money. Most of these FBA Gurus make more money off their course than actually selling on Amazon.
That's true about these big gurus like Kevin David, he is not a good teacher and over simplified and overhypes every thing, but it is not oversaturated at all you just have to innovate products. Also new products are coming out every day so there is always new opportunity
@@malaysianraisin1962 Kevin David is such a scammer... he promises "live courses" where he'll answer all of your questions... then you get to the said "live course" and it's a vimeo video oversimplifying things, like it's so easy to make millions
Exactly right! I have realized after much research that all these "gurus" are actually making most of their money through their online courses, RUclips videos, sponsorships, and their Facebook groups where they get a lot of students for their courses. This is definitely not for everyone and they are very manipulative in getting you to believe that you can do exactly what they've done by getting you to buy into them. It's the same as all these guys that talk about the stock market and how you can get rich just like they did. They all have online courses with promises that if you get through their course you can also do the same. It's also the same for these other gurus like Amy Portfield. They know how to advertise and get you your face pushing their courses that are very, very expensive. It's what social media is all about these days unfortunately.
@Ranjit Tyagi so what? i mean clearly she put a lot of effort into this video--i found it insightful and entertaining and watched the whole thing and i have no interest whatsoever in selling on amazon.
There are still good people on the site who sell quality products I sell on Amazon and I make manufactures send me samples and I quality check. There are honest people on this platform trust me.
Exactly, you have to be so careful what you buy now. So much trash products on there. I've gone back to buying well known brand names because it has gotten that bad!
I nearly always purchase items that are “Shipped and sold by Amazon”, because I trust those products more. The only two times I got something sold by another company was once from nomad and once from anker. They have great products!
@@DDOMESSI Of course everything makes a difference! Your self centered and a pollution yourself if you don't see that! All that shit should be made in America anyhow. Higher quality better made. Last longer. Nothing wrong with having clean Air, Water and Earth.
My company was selling packaging paper that is recyclable to Amazon that they were using to fill boxes they sent. Amazon made the call to switch back to sealed air plastic bags which are destructive to the environment. Amazon will always put profit before ethics
I dunno… I was one of those people that didn’t care about a credit score, didn’t get any education about how important your credit score is, and I racked up debt like an idiot. I worked really hard and educated myself and I’ve brought my credit score from 480 to 732 and I’m still going up with *EXPLOITBYTE* . I feel like the government blaming credit reporting companies instead of the lack of financial education in their own public education system is foolish.
No wonder there are tons of sellers selling the same 3 in 1 Qi chargers... they all look identical and with different prices. Now it all makes sense! Plus they're super cheap and low quality
You forgot the part where Amazon takes a 20% on every sale. Also they damage the products you ship them they tell you they are not in sellable condition, and charge a fee to destroy them. Oh and also, prime customers complain and return used items, amazon takes your money back for those too. Wow there goes a lot of the profit. Not so easy.

I recently created a seller's account on amazon. I decided to try what I called a test run, before I made a huge purchase from Alibaba and risked losing thousands of dollars. I ordered 30 pounds of Starbucks from a local wholesaler here in the USA, and I was unable to ship this product to amazon for sale since this item had what is called a listing limitation. I looked at other coffee items, and most of them as well had listing limitations. Also, I read on blogs that many successful amazon sellers had their accounts deleted by amazon for no reason. It is not a completely fair marketplace, and many people lose out in this game. I decided to try and flip this coffee on ebay, and in the meantime I am going to research e - commerce in general, just to understand in general what is going on and the safest way to approach it. Just beware of these go getter youtube personalities who flaunt their mansions and claim amazon is the golden ticket, did you smell that? yea its bullshit.
Great Video Shelby! One of buddies back from 2006, ended up getting into AMAZON FBA and ended up making around 1 Million a Month. I'm STILL kicking myself for not learning this. Love this stuff, thanks for sharing. Best, Lance Groom
Alibaba has so many counterfeits, fraudsters and half their products are low quality junk. It's a 50/50 you will actually get your goods ad not get scammed. Be the creator not the consumer.
Richard Adams I’m so glad you said this. Alibaba need shutting down and not people promoting suggesting we use them! They awful as you said, I have an artist friend who’s art work is being used all across alibaba illegally, I don’t want a thing to do with them
Dont blame alibaba or those manufacturers they are only creating what sellers want to buy. Sellers want cheapest product they can sell high. The manuafacturers arent going to create high quality items that they are going to break even. They have to make money too
Look on eBay so many counterfeit items but ebay isnt doing anything about it as it profit for them. As mentioned it isn't Alibabas fault. It's the "American/European" business people who wants everything cheap

Funny POPS Reviews are easy to get. Get a few buddies to simply buy your product and leave a review. The problem? Giving them a refund and letting them keep the product. You can also have them advertise your product on IG and other social media
@JHeints - If it were as easy as you think it is, everyone would be walking around with so many bills that they're content to use them as toilet paper and fireplace fuel. It's extremely difficult, a massive grind. It's $500/year just to have the opportunity to sell stuff. That doesn't include purchasing inventory, covering shipping and fees, etc. You won't necessarily make a profit.
There is no such thing as easy money. People think just because a business is “online” it’s no work. Nope. No one gets rich without tonnes of hard work.
FBA sellers: Stop encouraging people to do FBA, it's already competitive enough. Also FBA sellers: Phew, forgot almost 99.9% watching won't take any action.
Anyone selling a course on how to sell on Amazon is making their money selling courses. Otherwise, why would a successful person waste the time, money and effort to make and market a course?
Some of these "gurus" used to make money but have switched to selling courses because they are no longer making money, got knocked out by a competitor with a larger manufacturing budget or even got their account shut down by Amazon for a number of reasons...

This is the only FBA video I’ve watched. It was pretty clear, but I still have two questions: 1. When you buy 100 jade rollers (for example) from Alibaba, do they stay at the factory in China until one of your customers buys them? Or do they get shipped to an Amazon fulfillment center in the US, to wait until someone buys them? 2. How was David allowed to customize the map, if it was already listed for sale on Alibaba?
I'd also like to add that you don't need a Prime account yourself, to sell on FBA. You should never self indulge on your own supply. Here is a bit of context: No one really needs two day or same day shipping. I cancelled my membership to curb the obsessive customer dopamine I was getting. I can spend less, spend smarter, raise capital from the savings of changing my mentally.
In some of my Videos I show how easy it is to sell stuff that makes good money on Amazon. I actually show proof of sales on eBay also. Not too hard to find products , just need to have a bankroll

@@purelove7855 It takes some research , but its really easy to find where sellers are getting good stuff to sell . @@purelove7855 No Problem, either way people need to have the drive and be able to grind through it but you can make money if your smart at it. This is definitely a very simplified version of the business model and there's a ton more that goes into running a private label business. Also, there are easier business models for Amazon FBA without spending thousands.
There is a phrase that people have been using the past few years, "I'm not gonna lie". Everytime I hear it it says to me; if I do not preface my sentence with ' I'm not gonna lie' I may or may not be telling you the truth. Just my 2 bits on this.
Nepocrates Also, "I feel like" has replaced "I think". The latter requires some conviction, because what you think can be wrong...feelings however are subjective and cannot be wrong, so it's much more *safe* to say "I feel like". You could also say that feeling has replaced thinking. Either way...i think it's pathetic, and it makes me feel disgusted.
I'm going to be Honest (Because I'm not usually honest) & I'm going to tell you something but I'm not going to lie (Because I'm usually lying). No Problem (Because I'm making an exception since usually anything & everything really IS a problem for me to deal with).

I thought this video was filmed really well and the editing was quality! I understood what you delivered to us! Some Amazon sellers don't explain it very well in detail x
not even close, there is a lot that goes into product research to make sure you find a good, scale-able product. so they told you what it is but not how to do it. No secrets are given in this video. All of what was said is pretty common knowledge or given out by Amazon/Aliababa

No mention about the shipping fees at all, the shipping fee is same price with the product cost. Light item does not mean cheaper shipping fees, if the dimensions is big, end up the shipping fees is higher than the product cost, plus FBA, storage fees, tax fees , advertisements fees, any product listing & image editing, if can maintain breakeven in beginning and later on at least 10-20% profit margin then is good.
The hell with Amazon. Be an eBay direct distributor. No inventory No shipping hasels Fully automated. All orders go directly to distributor, Sales percentage paid to you at time of order. Manufacturer collects payment from purchaser, ships product with your directory on the label. No body knows your the silent middle man. It's the only way to do nothing to become wealthy.
I never use Amazon because of their practises and prefer second hand on ebay though sometimes buy new. Wondered why I've had a few things arrive packaged by Amazon over the last year or so. Now I know why and how! Thank you
I moved about $60,000 of products, mainly books, and CD's through Ebay, from 2007-2015, but found that it was unique and hard to find products that would really do well that in most cases already had a proven track record of selling. That was only hobby or part time $. When going onto Amazon, the same applied, but in my limited experience and time with that, I found it to be less profitable and less sales.
@@jazzyroly Not the same thing lol. the difference is that all dropshipping literally does is takes advantage of people's ignorance and uses marketing tactics to make items appear more valuable and scarce than they actually are.. lol. for ex, alot of dropshippers sell products as if they're their own brand and not manufactured by someone else. This is so true I work in solar products on Amazon for a year never making a profit from I have yet to get the first $600 that I put into the business you buy things thinking that you'll sell them for highby the time that they get to Amazon Amazon is selling them for less than what you paid for it
very true. also what she doesn't mention in this video is the big fees that amazon charges those same sellers... they'll still make a profit if they paid $2 for something and sell for $50, but you have to be careful with the price margins as a seller. I know because I'm a small-time amazon seller. amazon will for sure take a chunk of every single item sold on their platform. hence why jeff bezos is the richest man on earth. Oh yeah, not to mention shipping costs. it is possible to hit it big though!
Well some people make money but you cannot be a legit vendor. I mean you cannot buy from a distributor because Amazon will have the best price because they have bigger pockets and get better pricing. Only way is with retail arbitrage or with your own UNIQUE item that China cannot copy or isn't worth it due to shipping costs/manufacturer details etc.. Heck Amazon tells you what you have to return and then they take a "Return Fee" on that return! So they make their money either on the sale (15%) or if it is a return they refund the 15% fee and then keep a Return fee that cannot be over $5 per item but is 20% of the initial seller fees ( 15% fees charged in first place) So basically if you sell a $100 item amazon takes $15. If that item gets return amazon refunds you the money minus $3 ( 20% of $15) . then you need to fight for the return shipping since most customers lie on return reason to get return fees. Amazon makes money!

...and Posting skeptical (somewhat negative) comments seems to be the best way to attract attention these days.
If these guys make so much money on amazon, then why do they spend so much time pushing their courses on RUclips.

Because they want more money. Most common thing among millionaires? They have multiple sources of income.
More money??
You hear all the talk of how much people make on Amazon and Clickbank often they talk in millions. Have you ever worked out how much you would have to sell to make millions?. Plus I saw a video on RUclips about a year ago its easy to " adjust " your earnings on your account for the benefit of a RUclips videos.

@Alex Stein I would love to get in touch with this expert, how do I go about that?

@Kimberly Author individuals like Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk who are investing in crypto and making profits should tell you all.
so many people fail at FBA, you aren't necessarily going to become a millionaire or make money at all.

@@stevemaximus9046 Lol. you are a very silly man.
I noticed too the quality has gone down dramatically.
Lmao. Sure. You get to open all the items and feel everything lmao. What lies

Good luck.
Thanks for taking the time to inform us :)

This is definitely a very simplified version of the business model and there's a ton more that goes into running a private label business. Also, there are easier business models for Amazon FBA without spending thousands.
Like what?

Thank you for this video. Everyone else tries to sell us the information, you made it very accessible and easy to understand.
Appreciate that this was not a sales pitch. Thank you for the information.
There is a phrase that people have been using the past few years, "I'm not gonna lie". Everytime I hear it it says to me; if I do not preface my sentence with ' I'm not gonna lie' I may or may not be telling you the truth. Just my 2 bits on this.
Nepocrates
Also, "I feel like" has replaced
"I think".
The latter requires some conviction, because what you think can be wrong...feelings however are subjective and cannot be wrong, so it's much more *safe* to say "I feel like".
You could also say that feeling has replaced thinking.
Either way...i think it's pathetic, and it makes me feel disgusted.

I sold my ecom business 2 months ago, amazon made up about 75% of it. this guy is a joke in the community, he straight up fakes screen shots and makes all of his money selling courses.
If someone "rich" is selling a course on how to make money, the course is a scam and the sell is a fraudster
Just so everyone is aware. Kevin David that she as featured in her video has been charged for Fraudulent Amazon FBA courses. He basically made his money on selling courses and not what he teaches. Just youtube him, its all revealed.
Thank you!
Yea the ship has sailed and therefore the money is in selling classes called pipe dreams.
i make money from retail arbitrage and thrift stores/books so the ship has barley even started loading passengers

I checked Taobao but it's in Chinese. How do you navigate the website? I don't know the language
Neelima Zadar yes it’s only in Chinese

This market is completely saturated with people doing just this, it's not impossible but your time to get rich from this was years ago.
I thought this video was filmed really well and the editing was quality! I understood what you delivered to us! Some Amazon sellers don't explain it very well in detail x
sure, that's why they are making videos because they want everybody know their secrets.
not even close, there is a lot that goes into product research to make sure you find a good, scale-able product. so they told you what it is but not how to do it. No secrets are given in this video. All of what was said is pretty common knowledge or given out by Amazon/Aliababa
If you can't do it. Teach it.

wellyes you need to be determined..but you also need to be prepared. You wouldn't set off climbing Mount Everest in flip flops, a starbucks latte and a t-shirt...you have to prepare for the journey and trust me FBA is a journey. Watch the videos of the ppl who will tell you how difficult it is and what you need to do to be successful...the truth not the fluff. You HAVE to be prepared or you will fail 98% fail and fail in a few months.
Definitely one of the most genuine and helpful videos I’ve seen on this topic, thankyou👍
Thank you Shelby! Have always been interested in this concept so it was great to see a nice overview of how people do it.
the point is you bought cheap things from china and sell it in amazon for higher price

I was gonna do amazon FBA, but decided to open my own shop. used the advice from those 'dropshipping' videos and fba vids and my shop has been open 9 months, going on 10 and i've touched the 6 figure mark already. i dont wanna say 'Yes!! its legit!' but its reaaaaally hard, but worth looking into. just to jump in you have to buy a ton of products from china that you probably wont even see. its just gamble after gamble. :/ im talking thousands ($1-5k) just to play!

No inventory
No shipping hasels
Fully automated.
All orders go directly to distributor,
Sales percentage paid to you at time of order.
Manufacturer collects payment from purchaser, ships product with your directory on the label.
No body knows your the silent middle man.
It's the only way to do nothing to become wealthy.
That actually sounds interesting. how does one become a direct distributor?

My partner and I both left our corporate jobs to sell on Amazon full time 4 years ago. It's definitely true. : )
I moved about $60,000 of products, mainly books, and CD's through Ebay, from 2007-2015, but found that it was unique and hard to find products that would really do well that in most cases already had a proven track record of selling. That was only hobby or part time $. When going onto Amazon, the same applied, but in my limited experience and time with that, I found it to be less profitable and less sales.
so basically making money to scam people. that really sucks. but thanks for raising awareness!
I mean this is how most companies and brands work, they buy and manufacture at a fraction of the price and sell for way more to make a larger profit
They pay people to create some fancy logo and company name and use these for product placement for these cheap, crappy items you can get on chinese selling platforms for a fraction of the cost... This is not the case with companies who CONTRACT for their items. they're completely different things.
Well.. what phone are you using? Because whatever phone you’re using, was probably made from $100 worth of parts and labor and sold for over $400. It’s called profit, it’s how LITERALLY EVERY company works. A company that doesn’t include profit in their sales won’t get ahead. A sales person that doesn’t include profit won’t become successful.
What do you mean scamming people lol. Do you have any idea how ANY business works? Every business literally works from buying something or multiple things at a low price and selling them for higher.
@@luigidaniele6613 do you know how scams work? they are lying about the products they are selling, saying they are good high quality products when theyre actually cheap low quality mass produced products
Let me make this simple.....
The only people making millions on Amazon is " AMAZON" 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Oh yeah, not to mention shipping costs. it is possible to hit it big though!
you are very wrong on that hahahaha
Julius Rendon correct us then my friend of few words...
