Hey all - thanks so much for watching this video, I am super grateful for all our subscribers. Just a note, I started the brand The Oodie and the $500m I am referring to is sales, not profit or net worth. Sorry if I wasn't explicitly clear in this video, all my previous videos I am quite clear on these metrics if you want to watch those. Let me know if you have any questions.

Your video showed up in my suggestions. Wow congrats on what you have achieved! Great to hear a success story, and how you overcame the challenges. I have been self employed for a long time, mostly selling online, but only a tiny % of your sales. Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine has nearly destroyed my business here in the UK, after a huge increase in cost of production, in March this year, of my best selling items, due to energy rises at the factory (it requires a lot of energy to make them) Since I did the price increase my sales have slumped by about 90%! I've sold them for years (regular sellers day in day out- customers love them, almost zero returns or issues), and got through the pandemic, but this is just something way worse than has ever happened before. Obviously this is nothing compared to what people in Ukraine are having to deal with, but it still has just about ruined my business, with bills to pay etc. Having watched your video, and your success in selling the weighted blankets, and Oodies, it made me think blimey, what I actually sell is probably even more perfect for Australia than Britain, and with your skills, its like an open goal for you. You'd probably sell them to every house in Australia! 🤣🤣🤣

For all my life I've always had the dream of becoming rich, and all the things I could do to help this world with it. But only ever since I was around 9 did I ever think of how that dream would come true. My head was always filled with the thought of it, but I could never think of something that someone had not already thought of in the first place. But I've thought, and thought, and I've been determined, and your story is the most inspiring one I've ever seen. Thank you for making me more determined in making my dream come true!

Your wonderful story has really inspired me. Many people cast you off because of age but you have inspired me to push through, ignore the brush off and live the life I have left to fullest. 40 now, and everything is paid for. Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher who taught me a lesson when I was 18 years old. That lesson was: you can't buy something else for every purchase you make. Having multiple sources of income is prudent, as is living within your means. I have a 13-year-old vehicle because it is all I need, I like it, and I can do whatever I want with it. My net worth is $4 million, and I can pay my bills without stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.

I fully agree; I'm 56 years old and recently retired with approximately 1.2 million in outside retirement funds, no debt, and very few dollars in retirement funds in comparison to my portfolio balance over the last three years. To be honest, the financial advisor's role can only be ignored, not dismissed. Therefore do your research to get a reputable one and that should be any individuals main route into the market.

This over-diversification is such a big problem early on. I've done it too. Just not being able to manage your attention and getting dragged every which way with a ton of side hustles. To be fair if you're going into it from a truly entrepreneurial headspace then I think it's probably worth learning those lessons until you find what works for you but most people can benefit from just getting really good at the one thing and instead of trying to shift into another business entirely, just focus the learning on improving or evolving what they have.

4 never claimed to know -Ask question, it's the best you work with a financial advisor.. like Martinez Amend, he is good on what he knows how to do best.

I’ve watched this video and listened to it very carefully and thoroughly and I have to say, congratulations to you buddy, you have a good set of head and brains screwed between your shoulders. You are a clear case where luck means opportunity and effort meets success. I have actually lived in Australia for quite some years, didn’t manage to be able to stay due to how nearly impossible was to get a permanent visa at the time but I know enough about the country and its economy to say that you were very lucky to have the circumstance of being born and raised in a country where its economy is basically the envy of the world, and you made the most of it. You sound so humble and grateful about the whole process and the way you went about it speaks millions on how your mindset was built and how your drive and grit were met by a country where that kind of success is actually achievable. Well done!!!!! All the best to you and you deserve all the credit!

You still need a good base foundation ( a degree, any other paper ) to go back in case you fail in business or change your mind 🤗 Speaking from experience. I came from family business background, but still did a degree, launched my brand and change my mind becasue I realized it's better and easier to just skip business and go straight to investing, you gonna end up in investing anyway so why not skip all the "hard work" and go to the final stage 🤭🤷‍♀

Most people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however. I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-lots of years. Or just use a professional analyst and speed up wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter

You're absolutely right about the power of compound interest and the long-term potential of investing in index funds like the S&P 500. For many, passive investing in broadly diversified funds can be a reliable strategy over time.

Employing a professional financial analyst or advisor can certainly add value by offering tailored advice, portfolio diversification, risk management, and timely insights. Their expertise can potentially speed up wealth creation and navigate market complexities, but it's important to choose someone reputable and consider their fees, as they can impact your overall returns.

I had an easy childhood, studying was a breeze for me. I aced all the classes, was all of my teachers favorite student, frequently got perfect scores, frequently came first in my class. I never stopped having girlfriends from middle school all the way through college, multiple girls would even compete trying to date me. But I struggled a lot later on in life, and am still struggling, i tend to get real down on myself, beat myself up for not living up to my potential. I think in part it has to do with the fact that because of my easy childhood and time in school, I never had to face or learn how to deal with adversity in real life. So I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not a bad thing at all when young kids do bad in school early on, it toughens you up and you’re much more equipped to handle problems later on.

Here before this inevitably gets a lot of traction. Mate, you didn't shy away from sharing your failures, you're humble through it all, and you got a good heart. Loved the ending sign off, keep your head up and keep on being who you are, if not better now that you're more well off financially

They weren't failures. Everything you went through were stepping stones to what you were looking for. When you learn from them, they aren't mistakes or failures. If you were my son, I'd be so proud of you for getting back up.

"These mistakes, if you carry them with you, they're just going to hurt you. You just have to leave them behind and learn from them."
My experience has shown me that other people will hang their hats on your mistake and expect you to be anchored to the ground with them forever.
    I have to move on.

This got me emotional. As someone who has failed in food business before and now trying to navigate the next journey, what you did not cover is the many insecurities that you must have felt between each failed business project and being able to fight through that and still win...super happy for man!!!
