I live in Minnesota, about 2 hours from where you are visiting. It has been on the cooler side and quite rainy so I hope the weather is nicer while you are in the State.
My son leave to Ely Minnesota in August.
Not sure about other states, but where on from, it's actually illegal to pump gas while your car is running bc of the potential fire hazard. I used to work at a gas station and we would actually stop the pump remotely if someone pumped while their car was running.
Here in Europe we are not allowed to have running cars while putting gas.
Or in Canada - turn off the engine
It's not really allowed in America either.
also you need your car key to open up the tank in the first place, right ? so unless you specifically go back to start the car again...
I had an idea re:projects! Make decorative coasters! Those go quickly! Can cozies for pop or beer! Coffee cup coozies! Make future Christmas presents! You never have enough time! That is what I am doing now!

Welcome to MN! There are a ton of things to do here. I caution going to the Mall of America on a weekend if you decide to go. The mall is chaos on weekends. But there are plenty of yarn stores to go to! Hope you have fun!!
I just learn of a fabric warehouse in Minnesota called SR Harris and it seems super cool but I'm not sure if Kelsie sews at all. Still really cool place to check out

The Yarnery and Dandelion Fiber are my favorite shops in the cities! If you ever have an issue with your scissors, cat nail clippers are my favorite travel tool to not injure the inside of my purse/luggage. Enjoy your trip :)
I lived in Minnesota for 2 years. If you’re in Minneapolis, you should check out the Mall of America!! It’s the biggest mall in the USA! Fun fact: if a person spent 10 minutes in every single store at MoA, it would take 3 whole days to go to them all!

My husband has his family in Minnesota and i always bring a yarn bag with me for our drive! I always have to stop at the Joann in his town because its so much better than where I live.

Welcome to MN, I currently live an hour west of Mpls, but was born and raised in Minneapolis. I recommend getting the Friday & Sunday Star and Tribune newspaper, it will tell you all the fun things going on around town. Also, get the MINNESOTA & MPLS/MINNESOTA magazine, it will also tell you all the great places to eat. There is a yarn shop MOA. MN is home of Prince, recommend going to Paisley Park and downtown mpls to 1st Ave and seeing his mural. So many fun things to do here!! I could keep making suggestions 😂 again, Welcome and hope your stay here is fabulous!!

Welcome to MN! If you’re still in the state, there’s a couple of great yarn shops in more rural areas - not quite country, not quite suburbs of Minneapolis. The first I recommend is in Buffalo, the other is in Northfield. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Im from more northern Minnesota! Im near the cuyuna mtb trails and it beautiful here you should visit sometime! The views here are worth the trip 😁

I think sometimes TSA is concerned as to whether or not the scissors are pointy, so I bring rounded kiddie scissors with me on trips. 😊 It just makes it easier. ❤
I haven’t been to Minnesota in forever! One of my favorite parts was going to all the little shops in Nisswa, especially the candy store 😂

Do you have any relatives in Michigan? It’s nice here in the summer. I know Missouri is pretty hot. There is quite a bit to see in Michigan. One interesting thing is the Mackinaw Bridge. Another place that is very interesting is Mackinaw Island. You have to take a ferry from Mackinaw City or Saint Ignace. There are no cars on Mackinaw Island. You walk, ride bikes, or ride on a a horse and buggy. The Grand Hotel is where the movie **Somewhere in Time**was filmed. Some people actually live on the island year round. If the lakes freeze enough they mark a trail with pine trees where the ice is thickest and they ride snow mobiles back and forth in the winter.

hey kelsie! i got pulled aside at the airport once as a kid for having craft scissors 😂 they ending up saying it was fine and let me on, but still, i am paranoid about it now. for anyone else who is worried about scissors, one hack is to use nail clippers, or dental floss (and use the sharp cutting part for cutting yarn)
I've had a relative get stopped for nail clippers. 🙄

Ahhh love that your in MN I live close to there but visit frequently! You should check Steven b yarn (I think that’s what it’s called) but it’s super cute and they have TONS of fun yarn. It’s my fav store to visit in that area
I bought special TSA approved scissors for a recent trip abroad. It was fine on the way there, but they confiscated them before I flew back to the US 😭 I barely got to use them and they weren't even that good lol I should have just tried the ones you have 🤷♀️
