Thank you! Please let me know if there are any other paint sprayer reviews you would like to see or for any more information you need. I do own multiple sprayers.

Try using windshield washer fluid to thin instead of water

How was cleaning the shellac based primer from the sprayer? can you provide an overview of that process? I want to get into flipping on some small pieces.

You have to use denatured alcohol and clean it out. I just take some and Swish it around in the cup and use a rag and dry it out while it’s still kind of wet from the alcohol. I wash the nozzle in the alcohol also and then clean out the passages with the brush provided with the gun.
Need a respirator and gloves, also depending on where you live there might be a disposal for that type of material, I just save the washout and reuse it to clean again the next time.

It’s a pretty old video of mine. I’ve moved into a shop now, but even before that I started spraying in my garage after this. It’s just messy because there’s always overspray on everything, but you can spray under a covered area successfully.

I just bought this gun to use on some projects that I am doing around my home. I'm replacing all the builder grade door casings and baseboards to a wider flat faced type molding. I am also repainting the entire inside of my home...ceilings, walls as well as the trim. I am using BM Advance (self leveling paint) in Simply White on all trim including interior doors. I've tried a sprayer once before a few years ago and ended up with a hot mess on my hands. I am hoping that I can get as close to a factory looking finish with this gun. I was really trying to focus on the end result that you got on that cabinet door but my eyes just kept focusing on all the dents and dings. Aside from the door being in less than perfect condition, what are your thoughts on the actual spray finish? Does it look like a factory finish? Thanks for any advice/input.

Right off the gun (as in as soon it is sprayed) it is kind of orange peel-ish looking. But if you give it time it will level out as long as you spray enough paint on it.
I would try this- any surfaces that you can spray laying down flat on saw horses I would spray those laying down that way you can put on enough paint without having to worry about runs. For the surfaces where you can’t spray flat I would maybe add a little water 5-10% or maybe even some latex extender and spray them on and try to avoid letting them dry out too fast. If you have the AC on it will definitely help the paint level out or at least if you’re painting outside try to keep them out of direct sunlight. Also, start spraying off your surface then pass over it because these cheaper guns spit when they start and stop. They say that you’re not supposed to thin BM advance and Emerald urethane but personally I think 5-10% water would probably be okay. Really it’s more about trying to control your environment as much as you can to allow the paint to level.

@@milosrestoration1337 thank you for the suggestions. I appreciate it. In my neighborhood all of our fences are painted a dark color and mine is about do for a repaint. It’s rough sawn cedar so I was thinking that might be a good place for me to practice on and get a good feel for using a sprayer. I just need for the temps to cool off. The entire state has been under what they’re calling a heat dome. Thanks again 👍
