- In this video I take you through the process of creating a custom pickguard for my partscaster tele. The one that came with it when I purchased the guitar was some kind of yellow pearloid, and it just didn't work for me. I chose to replace it with one that I made myself for the guitar out of clear acrylic. I would love to hear what you think about it!
Cool!
Thinline with binding 👌
I have a tobacco burst tele with a white pickguard. The clear really makes the finish pop like you said, but i think white gives it a good contrast and shows the depth of the orange brown color. Great work and great video!
Clicked sub :)
Pretty guitar. I actually loved that yellow pickguard but I love guitars that look kind of like carnival rides...if that makes sense. I always make my guitars more "ugly".
There was a part of me that was warming up to it, but it was just too bright for my taste.
@@turningupdb I like what you did with it too. I'm new to Telecasters as of a couple years ago. What took me so long? It's the only guitar I play now.
Not crazy about the pickguard, however, the quality of the video and the editing is top notch.
Thanks! I probably would have used another material for the pickguard, but I was trying to do it for free. I made this out of an acrylic merchandising fixture. 😝
Nice Thinline, the yelllw pickguard was hideous. I wouldn’t recommend the clear pickguard even though the work put into it was cool to watch. Black or white would look good, unless the binding is off white, then in that case parchment or cream would look better.
