I have come across a lot of these in rentals and I just put two cups of bleach in the bottom run the cycle really hot and it'll suck out any sludge in the dishwasher drain pipe. Also will say I found glass shards blocking the drain at the bottom of the filter that is an absolute cause for sure!
Thanks to you and my brother via messenger I was able to do exactly what you showed in the video. The only difference was that I had to take the tube off by the fan underneath before i could twist it off to the left. Once I did that I was able to find the culprit. A STINKIN TOOTHPICK STUCK IN THE FAN!!!! Thanks again for your precise video help!!
ALWAYS CHECK THE DISHWASHER DRAIN “knockout”. It’s a little plastic plug blocking the dishwasher from draining that comes standard on all new garbage disposals. As soon as he mentioned that I knew that was the solution to the issue I was having.
Thanks. I've replaced several dishwashes and garbage disposals and knew about the drain plug in the disposal however I couldn't feel the plug when I stuck my little finger in the drain. The plug can be beyond reach of your finger. Won't make that mistake again.
Typically I check the solenoid. Usually it's busted and I have to replace. I've gotten into the habit of changing the timer whenever I change a solenoid because the timer always goes our next after changing the solenoid
Thank you, as a woman it feels good to prove to myself I can do these things too. Bf isn't mechanically inclined but I went to machinist school and like working with my hands so it works 👍 Just a little embarrassing tho when family judges us for him not doing this kind of stuff they think "it's sad you make her do it" but that's just awkward who cares who does what? Nobody makes me do anything.
That's what a good wife is for. 😂 It may seem embarrassing at first but if your husband does it, and the family/friends find out, everybody asks if he can come over and do mine too. But nobody asks a wife I'd they can come over and do theirs . Its not a good look🤷🏽♂️
How much water should be in filter? I found very little and what appeared to be mold. Cleaned filter with bleach but did not know about drain pump. Landlord has bot sent a plumber since i reported issue
My problem: Dishwasher drains water but not completely. I checked drain pump, pipes and nothing is stucked. Drain pump is working but depending on how high I take the drain pipe in my hand it stops draining or not. The higher I put the drain pipe, the faster it stops draining. I think it is somehow related to the power that the pump can drain but I don't know what to check now. 2 days stacked and it still doesn't work 😢
You saved me within 2 seconds into the vid. I just installed a new disposal and forgot to remove the knockout plug
Lol
I just did the exact same thing, after taking apart the whole dishwasher I had no idea that there was a knockout
I do appreciate your clear advice on how to take the drain pump off my Kenmore elite dishwasher thank you so much
Good footage in a very tight space
Thank you!
Owe you one bro. Found a plastic tab that had broken off an icecream tub in there. Working again 😅

They might've been the easiest I have ever seen an agitator come off. Usually i have to work my belt under it and pull up using that
