Requirements:
Few things to note to get this ship.
1. You need a Class C License to pilot this beast.
2. Star Ship Design Rank 4 to add better mods to this ship is desirable but not required.
3. Rank 1 System Targeting Perk required for boarding.
4. This is a random event so its not a for sure thing. May take time and multiple attempts but it may also be level locked.
5. This might be level locked as many so please keep that in mind
6. Set difficulty to very hard

Notes & Tips:
1.I'm starting think ships are somewhat level locked but i'm not sure.Do note I'm level 95 when finding this ship.
2. You will get a bounty for taking this ship.
3. I'm not sure if its like this for other but this ship appears super rarely for me. It might be more frequent for you.

Man you are so right about Celebrai IV. As soon as I landed, I ganked 2 really nice ships, a UC Reef II and a Va'ruun Litany basically landed right next to me. Since then it has been rare ship after rare ship, the challenge is not grabbing every single one of them, but waiting for the real gems. Thanks. Subbed.
Awesome thats great to hear :) Can work and other times its bone dry but for me its pretty good area. Glad it is for you.
Heres the cheese. Warp into the system on very hard. Once you verfiy the ship is there, immediately pause and switch to an easier difficulty drops will stay the same but it will be much easier.
Haha ill have extra cheesy cheese please. Its a good strategy I'll do that at times. Its very helpful when flying my freight train ship around.

I just kept flying around the level 60-77 star systems… finally I flew into a system and there was a space battle between UC and pirates… I saw a chimera 3 already damaged and just flew up to it and docked. Has a 38 reactor. I added two more class C engines to it and changed the look a little .. extended the two prongs in the front and changed the big cockpit to the long skinny one.

Very nice and nice work to get it. Who says there isn’t really cool fun stuff to do in Starfield outside of the main quest. Taking on and Robbing the UC stealing their awesome ships.
For anyone reading this, I’ve noticed a few lone Gilbank ships that would be traveling through the Fermi system at the outer planets. At least they travel through the system alone with no other ships. But these ships are mega loot piñata. Anyway just in case you want to have fun robbing a transport bank in the game.

shortly after watching this video i saw the chimera regular version so thought id jack it, man that ship is a maze, especially when ur in 0 gravity for some reason i was.
Haha glad I wasn't the only one getting lost. Felt like I was lost in the Yancheng Dafeng Dream Maze.
Came across this today. Was by itself in orbit. Make sure you target the engines BEFORE you shoot. This stops the bounty from starting until you board to kill the crew. Even then, I only accumulated a 3500 credit bounty. Not sure why?? Not complaining, though!

Thank you for this location! I have that mod with all the shipid's I mentioned before. I'll spawn it and see if I can find other versions. I did find this in the wild on my last character. I loved the security uniforms they were wearing. If you spawn a ship, use TCL and Unlock to get inside the ship. I tend to go to a moon. Use TCL to get very high and spawn it, so its not clipping into the ground. I been creating characters to test different things at lower levels. I found this under 30 on very hard.
If you try this at lower levels. I start off as Bounty Hunter, Flight Sim and the shoplifting trick in Hopetown to get the Advanced Magshear x2 at the start of the game.
Within 15 minutes of typing this. I was able to get a 64 Vista and Chimera 3, I'm level 25. Bounty at Neon was 302,720k When I first came in it was full of Freestar. Went to a neighboring system like he mentioned in a previous video. Came back and the Valentine was there. I have the scanner perk to see more details about ships. Next planet and I found 3 Sysdef. Thought I had to kill all 3, but the Chimera did nothing when I killed the first.
Last update. When I undocked the 3rd ship attacked my previous ship as it flew away. The autoguns killed it fast.
Sorry for the delayed response man. Sounds like a wicked cool mod I'll try that out down the track. It would be interesting to see what name this ship gets when you try spawned using the console. Thanks for the tips on spawning ships.

Did you get the Vista and Chimera 3 random or mod spawn? Thats a really nice drop if you got Chimera MK III. Must be more commong then I think.
Haha yer there are some funky happenings when you undock from a ship and it still pilots its self and attacks. Its pretty awesome.
Don't think of it as a mod, just a list of console ids. Its a good way to see what ship is what inside. You've saved me so much time. Just started a new char.

You'll see pleanty of the MK1 MK2 but for me finding the MK3 version is not as common for sure.
Just found this today really good ship made some other modifications to make it easier to walk around in other than that 10/10 ship

I found this ship on the Masada (Level 75) system in an encounter with UC Sysdef vs Crimson Fleet (I sided with the Crimson Fleet). Had to act fast as it was about to be blown to pieces. So far it was a pretty neat ship to take and use. Got it on Level 28 on first playthrough (not NG).

You brought me luck, watch this video, rebuild a ship go looking for a fight and this turned up and I managed to board it before my ship blew it up with auto turrets. Also on my first play through.

It looks like some sort of variant of the Crossbow that uses a different cockpit and connects the two front "prongs".

I had a randoms spawn encounter of UC SysDef fighting the Crimson Fleet and two of the three SysDef ships were Chimera 3s and this was whilst I was only level 19/20, boarded one to take it over and then realised I didn’t have Class C piloting unlocked 🫣, the ship didn’t have turrets on and all the crew inside were level 14 or 20, I was playing on very hard as well
Haha I remember doing the same thing. Not knowing about the c class pilot requirement. So the scaling of enemy levels is linked to the level of the system and to some extent your character level. Difficulty changes the damage you take and the damage you deal.
@@SiNKiLLeR_ well I found it in the same system you did, I just found them over Celebrai 1 instead, I was getting excited thinking that would be an awesome ship to be rocking around in at level 20 considering I only have access to the really basic Class C parts and then being really peeved finding I actually couldn’t pilot it, reloaded an earlier save so I didn’t have to deal with the bounty issues 🤣
Oddly I’ve also found random Chimeras a couple of times in Serpentis but they haven’t said UC Sec or SysDef, just UC Chimera III, never seen one labelled as Freestar though so I’m assuming they are a UC-only ship
@@SiNKiLLeR_ literally just captured one this morning finally, so my little level 31 character now has a big ship with parts he can’t even access otherwise yet - found it in battle over Celebrai IV with a a half dozen CF ships and two other SysDef ships and it was the sole survivor

I saw this ship escorting UC Vigilant. When I start the quest. Yes, it says Chimera something, maybe Chimera VI. Quiet high level. I played on Normal during the quest.

This was one of the first ships I stole agyer ranking up only piloting till lvl 5. As soon as I hit mid teens I was able to find a Chimera II in a lvl 60+ system. At lvl 20+ sometime I ran into a Chimera III in a lvl 75 system.
Then at lvl 30(?) I ran into The Valentine for the 3rd time...
40 reactor, 30ly jump range, 2104 shield (I think I have perks). 5 out of 6 systems (Alpha Beams SSD lvl 3) are starship design level 4. Including shield generator, engines, grav drive, missiles, & gauze gun.

@SiNKiLLeR_ Thank you, I've been trying to do what I can to narrow down the RNG ranges for certain ships & their ranks. Hard since I'm on console. What level they're available etc. For example, until level 10 I would get almost absolutely no ships to land on moons or planetside. Unstealable class A UC ships, Fontier class's with colonists, or Ecliptic Stillehtos. Nothing else. For over 2 hours of hopping around. And they were rare. However, the frequency increased significantly after level 10+. And after level 12+ wound up running into Class C's in space. The lowest Class C's I've seen were level 22, and Valentine was level 72 I believe, in Hyugen system I believe.
So far my absolute favorite ship is the Ecliptic Claymore. I pushed the engine stacks out onto Pylons and now it looks like a starfleet ship.
Claymore is a beast, love it :)
I have never encounter this one. The best ship I've ever seen that you can take is the ecliptic Claymore 3
It was pretty rare for me but then later I started seeing them more often.
I was lvl 23 when 2 popped up in orbit. I have a pretty hefty UC bounty on my head. That may have affected the spawn. Then, 20 minutes later, a Vanquisher popped up. I was able to steal both of them. Also, I was just on normal difficulty.
Oh nice :) Wicked good outcome for you. Was it the Mk III ? Having a bounty on your head would help you find this ship for sure.
I got one at level 35 in a level 55-65 zone, somewhere in that range. Mostly see mk 2's so had to steal this 3

Funny. That ship seems to appear frequently in my game on high level systems but under a different name, it's just called "Pirate Ship". But it looks all the same.

Hornets nest is a beautiful thing to use to clear out ships. Only thing that sucks is it shoots all the goodies in the ship around if you're worried about contraband or etc
Oh man it was fun but in the end I had to give it up. On very hard it kills me more then the enermy haha.
Wouldn't landing on a planet then switching back to your main ship just put what ever is laying around into the cargo hold? O.o
@BruceWayne-qx5ly it depends. I've seen people say to make sure you pick up contraband and guns because they won't go into the inventory. So honestly I just grab it to be safe than sorry
A lot of times if you jump up to a level where there's multiple enemies then jump back down they will pursue you down the ladder. If they do, you just pick them off on the ladder. Easy money even on Very Hard.
Thats a good idea. Its funny they do that. I wish they would jump down instead of climbing the ladders.

It was part of a large battle. 2 chimera 2s several crimson fleet, a few other sysdef B class ships.
The crew were nit that hard (maybe because I was only level 27 and crew scale to your level?)

I got the Chimera, but the next day something weird happened. The game renamed it to "Pirate Ship". And I had to re-register it.
I found another version of this ship. For some reason it's simply called "Pirate Ship" in my shipyard. I got it wandering around moons trying to jack a UC Vista, and I'll take this ship any day over a vista. It has a crew cap of 10, which is crazy and useless since we can only have 8 crew. Had solid guns, and good stats. I just added a 2 more engines on the back that look similar to the structure pieces there for extra mobility and upgraded the reactor and weapons. It's got greenish yellowish trim instead of the white this one does. My favorite non-custom ship. Yesterday I saw the SYSDEF Chimera III, boarded and stole it. After I was able to look at the stats, I just liked my other upgraded version better and reverted to a previous save before I gathered such a huge bounty.
Yer wow I love the sound of your upgraded version sounds wicked. I think you can have 11 crew max including yourself.

@@mattt233if I understand correctly you can have 8 crew + Sarah Morgan (unlikely if you’re stealing this ship) +yourself, so 10 exactly, but it’s really 9 crew.
@highlorddarkstar yeah bit I don't count myself and I said 9 because Sarah doesn't count either. I'm just saying having a ship that says 10 Crew isn't possible as the Max you can have, not including you or Sarah, is 8.
@@mattt233 I guess you'll have to reach out to the devs and ask them to fix my ship. Don't know what to tell ya other than it says I can have 10 crew members. All of us know it doesn't matter what the ship says because the skill itself is capped at 8. Unless the ship does count you and Sarah... which, as far as I know, is not calculated as crew.
I came across this yesterday on very easy. Unfortunately my auto turrets vaporised it before I got a chance to knock them off and use an EM weapon 😢
Oh damm that can be a side effect of very easy and your ships to OP. If you can its helpful to save as soon as you can in theose situations. Then switch to very hard if your ships op and then reload in and it will be much more balanced for you to try take it.
Lieutenant Toft in Sysdef has her own Chimera 3 called Joan of Arc, epic name for an epic ship

When I got to lvl 70 I noticed this ship started appearing when I came across UC ships fighting Spacers or Ecliptic
I'm thinking the same thing its going to be more common the higher the level you are.
Oops.. didn't know ti was that rare lol. I took one last night and sold it after I registered it. I found it in the Hawkin system, at level 96 NG+11 on very hard. I took it on very hard, however there was no grenade launcher defending it. Also, I did not encounter a bounty... or if I did, it was little. Cause at the end of the night I only had a 16k bounty. I took over and destroyed a lot of ship too... so not sure about the bounty. One hing I have noticed is that if you lock it BEFORE you fire, you won't get a bounty. Also, *do not* bring a companion with you when you try to take it over.

Wondering if anyone knows what settings to pick with the latest updates (since you cannot pick just very hard anymore). do you just need to up NPC ship damage or do you also need to lower player ship damage?
Hi there!
With the recent updates changing the difficulty settings, you'll need to make some manual adjustments to balance the gameplay. Here’s what you can do:
Increase NPC Ship Damage: This will make enemy ships more challenging and ensure they deal more damage to you, simulating a harder difficulty. Set this to Very hard or Hard
Lower Player Ship Damage: This makes it tougher for you to defeat enemy ships quickly, adding to the challenge. Depending on how modded your ship is I would leave this on normal to hard.
Both of these adjustments together will provide a more balanced and difficult experience similar to the previous "very hard" setting.
If anyone has specific values or additional recommendations, feel free to share!
Oh, I've taken three of them, as well as the pirate edition.
Unfortunately every time I do the game glitches and removes them from my ship roster every time I quit and start it back up.
Even when I load a quicksave from when I HAD the ship it's gone.
That seems very unusual. Have you had any luck researching any solutions?
@SiNKiLLeR_ If the stolen ship flies away, it's best to let it go. It's a bug ship. Highly recommend to stay away. If you save the game, the bug stays within the save game.
Well, I eventually found one, boarded it and wiped out everyone and my bounty was only 670 credits, LOL.
Bit of a shite ship to be honest. Rare, but I used a converted Claymore III with top everything to take it and to be honest, that's a nicer base ship.
IMHO the Claymore III is the best ship to steal and mod for manual fighting and boarding.
Yer the Claymore 3 is a beast, great ship :) With a few upgrades it becomes a demon.

Booted Vasco, Stole a ship, duped my Claymore 3 and sold the original. Shield bug gone and more money for me :)

You'll see tons of Mk 1 and mk 2 around for sure :). Less of the MK 3.

UC Sysdef Chimera, item ID 00388A11 when I searched it in the console meaning in theory you can spawn one using the console. Dunno if it would be empty
the full thing when I searched in console is EncShip_UCSysDef_C_Chimera03

@@SiNKiLLeR_ Yup, achievement disabled. The moment you use the console command. Well, it's a big pop-up that says so. Other than that, who knows about any other bug, since there are major ship bugs without using console command.
@@SiNKiLLeR_ Yes first off you need to get high enough off the ground the ship does not spawn in the ground, I do not know if there is a means to change the Z location of an item. Second the door will say [Inaccessible] until you use the unlock console command and finally you will be unable to steer the ship at all. you need to land it again at a spaceport, exit and then take off again. naturally disclaimer that without a mod you do disable achievements by using console commands.
Yer the bugs have been hitting many of hard unfortunately. Time will sort them out hopefully and also mods.

I’m pissed, the night before I watched this video. I had a random encounter with this ship asking for parts. I’m currently lvl 40. The star system was in Serpentis.
Bugger but you could possibly head back to Serpentis is a highly active system.
Just got a Chimera 2 from the location after 6 jumps back and fourth I accidentally shot a little uc ship blew it up went away and after I came back 3 Chimera spawned in all attacking me then I saw one was the II so took it lol

I got into the ship and I’m floating I killed everybody but it said I still didn’t secure the ship don’t know why
Did you get all the turrets? Turrets will need to go down as well. Sometimes crew members will spawn inside objects which makes it impossible to capture. Sometimes I heard they spawn outside the ship lol. Not sure if thats true.
Where I got this ship was on hard and was in orbit of “hawking iii”.

Probably a different name. I stole a Crimson Fleet Wight 2 on a planet, but after a couple of stops, it automagically changed names to UC Fleet Cargo. I thought I was on the wrong ship for a second.
Yer it seems to change the names for so many of us. Don't know why. Its a bug for sure.
I found Chimera III lvl 44 and lvl 68 in one place but I can't dock if I destroy the shields and engines in lvl 44, do I have to destroy the other ships?
Ah sorry you also need to take out the grav drive and be close enough to the ship to be able to dock. I usually mention that but failed to this time.
You can only board and capture The Last Ship in a group. So you have to kill off everything but the ship you want to capture then knock its Shields and engines offline.

Does anyone know about the highlander or stormrider? They are the two best ships I've captured and can't seem to find much of anything about them online.
The Va'ruun have a mk2 and mk3 version of the Stormrider in all black, you can get them as spawns in Serpentis

@timothyarnold1679 I think that's where I got this but don't remember for sure. It was a ship I boarded and took over. The highlander III was a trade authority ship I boarded and took. Both ships came almost fully decked out. I appreciate the info.
@@JeremyDeere NP, I got my first Stormrider as a "Galbank Stormrider" it was a mk1 in all white... and man did it piss off my companions.

I think this ship unlocks for purchasing at 60+ so it will most likely be rare for you at lvl 40. It will become more common as you level up.

How do you get “Wanted” to level 2?
There isn't a great deal of info about it but in the game you can technically get to Wanted Trait rank two. I was testing it out so used a console command to trigger it. Been trying to find more info one it but nothing is really around about it. Not sure the impacts but I figured it would increases bounty hunters but I couldn't really tell the difference.
Carnt fly a UC ship as I am a UC captain been onboard many times but denied every time
What does it say when you go to fly it? I've never been in that situation? Wouldn't you lose your affiliation if you stole a UC ship?

Class C ships are just tanks, fat and slow, at least mine is. I forgot what it's called though. Slow firing weapons that hit hard, and terrible maneuverability. I have more fun in my Star Eagle than any class C ship.
You haven’t built them right then. You build them right and all you lose is 10 speed and you double your shields and hull.

Very true Class C ships are OP when built correctly.
class c just refers to the reactor class, nothing else about size. it just happens that C reactors are powerful enough to power giant ships so you see those out in the space alot. the best engines, weapons, grav drives etc are all c class requiring c class reactors. you can make a tiny C class ship if u want, hell u can upgrade the star eagle to a c version with improved parts too.
actually i take that back, the reactors actually have lower max speed but the ships dont have to be giant
man I have not seen this ship anywhere, not even in celebrai and i'm lvl 80...
Bugger! For me as well it was very rare encounter. Sometimes you see them around City's orbits you could try there but you need to dock real quick otherwise you get smahsed. If not that way then its just going to take time and luck.
I am lvl 30, been in Hawking System since lvl 28 and got this to spawn while looking for Stormrider III. I've been planet hopping on Very Hard and she was just there at one of the planets. Hope you find one

Wanted has ranks?
I don't think Wanted perk does have 2 levels but its really hard to find info on that.The game you can set the wanted rank to Wanted level 2 using console commands and I was testing it out but doesn't make any difference I don't think.
So is this the best ship in the game to steal?
Not the best to steal but a really enjoyable one to board and take over. The best to take and upgrade is the Voyager III.
Killing the captain of this ship will piss off whatever companion you have with you. Unless its Mathias.
Never take companions with you when stealing ships.
My bad, I didn't mention that. Not a good idea to bring them along. One thing you might be able to do is to reassign them to an outpost before venturing out.
My ship already has better specs than this so wouldn't make sense I go for this 1, I have a modified norwhal with a 40 reactor 3200 cargo and best in class auto weapons
Yer hard to beat your ship for sure. Maybe just for a bit of fun if you come across it you can board it.
dam I destroyed it I have auto turrents not sur ehow to stop them from attacking I may have to build a differnt ships so dont destroy it the one I had was exactly the same as the one in this video
I also use auto turrets. Couple options here. You can power down your auto turrets so they do less or no damage or put the difficulty higher which will make it much harder to destroy the ship which can make it easier to board.
@@SiNKiLLeR_ I never thought of that thanks will try that , I get most of my ships landing on the planet but so few larger ship seem to land on planets so I want to board some decent ships . is it possible to board then take over but also make it so I can just jump back on my ship so I dont have to do the whole flying to a place to swap home ships back
Very low stats, I just did a build video with a ship that is 5 times more powerful. Considering it's procedurally spawns then you can't give a location to where to get it, then why add that to your video?
I don't know how much you watched but for sure not crazy stats, Still puts it in a top 20 prospective from price point. More focus was on more the awareness that its a fun ship to board. Location given and then stated this is random it will be different for everyone.

Its a toss up!.. Caught the U.c Valentine class C ship... Took it over then my bounty was 150k. And 56k to register it. Ridiculous they need to get rid of that stupid ship registration! Its max sale was 73k..smh...

Haha yer i understand. Taking ships isnt for everyone but the raid can be fun at least.
Many ships the Devs design are put together intentionally to be a maze, so taking the ship is a bit more challenging. Once you get it, you simply adjust the layout properly so it flows correctly.....pretty simple stuff.

based on the hype you threw in the beginning of the video, I expected the ship stats to be way higher. This is worst than a Crimson Fleet Wight III. Not worth it.
It’s a free ship and you can always upgrade it 🙄
More focus was on the experience not so much the ship it self. This ship will sit in top 20 when added to list so for sure nothing crazy but cool to board and have some fun that way. But maybe not for everyone.
