Conquistador yeah true. Scary. Most sharks bite, realise we’re not food then leave (but we still die by bleeding out) Bull Sharks are just vicious killers whether you’re food or not. The cats of the Ocean lol
@Hulk Smash Yeah. A bull shark that killed several people in a river in Jersey was what inspired the movie Jaws. I've heard they can swim up the Mississippi river almost to Chicago. It's terrifying to know that they can potentially be in any dark freshwater that connects to the ocean.

This is some special drone footage all the stars aligned at the right moment. Mind you BlacktipH wasn’t even on the boat and launched his drone from the beach. He must be living his life in all the right ways.
A couple years back there was bull sharks attacking boats close to gulf shores Alabama. It was on the news. Man said he thought the shark was literally trying to tip him over to eat him. Probably was.
I was on Slob City's boat with my family during this attack. We were kite fishing a few miles miles away when Carl received the call from Josh about the cobia he was tracking with his drone. We all agreed to get the kites in, switch locations and try to land the cobia. It was an awesome decision! Josh was real time guiding us from his drone camera via his cell phone as we were pursing the cobia. It was intense - Carl wanted us to land that fish. My three boys are huge BlacktipH fans so this was like fishing with their hero. Once the bull shark hit it got more intense - no one was really worried but it was the coolest thing to experience....not often do you get to see such a huge powerful fish losing it's mind on the boat you're in! It was a lot of fun at Carl's motor's expense. I've been on a lot of fishing charters - Carl and his father were far and away the best captain and first mate I've had, they knew their fish and were awesome with my kids. Josh - thanks for the experience bud - my boys had a blast. Slob City & BlacktipH = fish!!!!!

Awesome footage! It makes me think twice about spear fishing around bull sharks. I've seen too many crazy videos where they freak out randomly. Thank heavens there was not a diver in the water.
Jess Mortensen I got caught way out, I knew I was in trouble, I stayed quiet, I told my daddy we are in trouble, no splashing, or kicking stay quiet, let’s try and bring down our pulse and heart rate, because it was Florida waters so we had gone too far out, and I knew we hit deep water, it suddenly got cooler. We made it back. I know you try and not give off any thing to attract them.
After years of having the peace of the ocean being shattered by the snarling sounds of outboard engines day in and day out, Brian the bull shark finally snapped.
From what the shark expert said, now people should never take apple watches into shark waters. Unless that type of reaction doesn't occur with an apple watch.
I lived in south Fl for 25 years but only had one unintentional shark encounter. If you are in the beach, in the water and there is a huge school of fish around, get out of the water because a shark may be nearby. I got out of the water just in time. Some sharks come up to the sand. Bull sharks are notorious for doing this. Also had a school of sting rays encounter. Remain calm and don’t try to move fast or they will follow you. They are usually harmless unless they sting you with their barbed tail like Steve Irwin which was so sad.
That was an awesome video. The drone footage was amazing, and the commentary from a shark guru was a real nice add-on given how unusual this is. Without the video, I really would not be able to visualize how effortlessly the shark moved that boat.
Nice video. Animals sometimes exhibit what we consider odd behavior. My first thought was that the 2 cobia might have been 2 fish the bull grew up with and didn't want you to catch them.
Bullsharks are unique in their ability to adapt. I saw a documentary filmed in Australia. They found bulls many miles up freshwater rivers. Perfectly healthy animals.
Yeh, enjoyed very much the analysis of the shark's behaviour ... rather than just showing footage of it and continuing fishing. From the drone one can't see the damage the shark has done but one wonders if there was any, so, very interesting to have the excellent follow-up. Especially because that behaviour was so out of the ordinary. How lucky were you to have the drone in the air capturing it all!
Bull sharks are truly a terrifying animal because they don't differentiate. They will attack anything. That video alone will keep me probably from ever kayaking in saltwater.
With the scientific explanation being so clear-cut, how come this isn't a regular occurence? Millions of sharks, millions of out-boards with metal reagents bolted to them, and we never see this behaviour, apart from this instance. Weird.
zootsootful, it happened to me in Hawaii. A shark came in chasing a small tuna I was reelin in and he bit the prop when I yanked the fish out of the water. Teeth went flying and blood in the water. Funny how the whole time you watch the video in the background you see tons of little bitty kayaks and smaller boats in the very same waters that bull shark is in. No way I would ever go into the Ocean in a kayak.

Fishing in Hawaii, we had a 44magnum bangstick for sharks. We used it once on a 600 pound blue marlin that refused to give up and was beating the hell out of the boat. The recoil from that thing going off under water is not something you want to experience twice. It worked though. One guy was killed using a bangstick on a shark in Hawaii.
