If you take this many fish out of the water every week and you do this with 100 or more ships, it will not take long before there will not be any fish left to catch.

When I was 9yrs old our part of the estuary in the South West of Scotland in Ayrshire was teaming with all kinds of fish. It was amazing, I remember it well. My dad started taking me sea fishing and all the other guy's their were catching different species of fish. Well now that's just a memory stuck in my head. We can fish for days on end and not catch a thing now. This is due to Trawlers over fishing. I've had countless arguments with boat owners over the years with them saying it's not me i only fish for prawns". If ur ever behind a prawn boat when their sorting their catch out watch all the small fish that have been crushed in the net and then thrown back too sea. This is what the seagulls fight over. Also the Trawlers that catch fish just hammer the grounds by ploughing up and down time and time again which destroys all the feeding ground. Our sea's are now in a very poor state. If artificial reefs were dotted around this would stop Trawlers occupying those areas and it would create fish haven's for juvenile fish protecting fish stocks. Something definitely needs done about those Trawlers. ( Should make them into Fish Haven's ) . 😁👍

I feel what you're saying, isle of man is battered by scallop dredgers now there's no tow areas around the island but its only just a fighting balance, sad things also is most of the catch go abroad hardly anyone eats scallops etc on the regular.
