Wow, this video of Wild Alaska Purse Seining is absolutely mesmerizing! The skill and precision involved in commercial salmon fishing are truly impressive. It's incredible to see how they manage to harvest such a vital resource while respecting the environment. The vast expanse of Alaska's waters and the teamwork required to pull off a successful seine set are truly awe-inspiring. This video provides a fascinating glimpse into an industry that plays a crucial role in both the local economy and the ecosystem.
I say this with all my sincerity: I have endless respect for people who work in such harmony without saying a single word. Maybe some of you may say, "They always do the same job; why is there any need to talk?" But since these are people who work with the discipline of a philharmonic orchestra, they are all experienced people who are aware of their duties, and it is impossible not to respect the work team who work perfectly as if they were a show team.
allways love to see where my food comes from thank you for showing this 👍👍that's a lot of fish but only one mouthful of a small whale so we are not destroying the fish stock like some idiots are thinking 🙄🙄🙄🙄 great work guys❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for catching some for me, I know you won’t take more than you should because next year you would be out of business. And a multimillion dollar boat to use as scrap.
They die pretty quick once they go into the tank. There’s also rules you have to go by you can’t just take up all the salmon, and someone’s gotta feed the people
@@Seattle20644by catch harvesting is what’s Truely dreadful to the ecosystem in the ocean, it’s whipping out the king salmon and the halibut just so they can get polluck. I know I live in anchorage,,,,, that’s in Alaska. The federal government over see trawler by-catch. This yr 2024 we here in Alaska have seen the deterioration of king and coho salmon returns, it’s been almost non existent, escapement quotas not meeting minimal goals had to close down a lot of rivers for sports fisherman but commercial and by-catch harvested over 38,000 Truely over fished , if we don’t do something the king salmon will go extinct in next several years.

Million fish a year or more lots fish spawn up there so they don't need worry bout quota cause it goes by the tons up there n what they catch
That’s how it’s done fellas
Yessir
I’ve never decided if hangers, before the rings are up. Is good or bad?
Now I understand why you want to grow micogreens
That was brutal
🤣🤣
Mantap bro
SE or Area M? The skiff exhaust made me think Area M. It was also the only seining area I never got to fish.
Area M 👍
They got big quota up In Alaska
And you wonder way all the people who live up river are angry.....What a way to catch anything and to leave so little
(滿載而歸)
Why was NO ONE PLUNGING!
🤣🤣
Todos vermelhinhos são exibidos...
What a sadistic way of harvesting salmon, so much suffering in one hit. Leaves me wondering on how many fish make it through to spawn?
They die pretty quick once they go into the tank. There’s also rules you have to go by you can’t just take up all the salmon, and someone’s gotta feed the people
This fishery is managed very well by biologists that measure salmon escapement and only allow fishing after adequate fish have made it upriver.
They get frozen in the hatch as soon as they get in. What method would you prefer?

It’s very simple. If you don’t like fishing. Quit eating fish
Go in to cat food . 😮

What a great video. Were these sockeye salmon? Thanks for feeding a bunch of people!
All 5 species in this set! Certainly sockeyes mixed in there.
