    It took a lot of pressure to push the old filter in and for it to pop out. My wife nor I could exert enough pressure and it took my grandson to push it in hard enough for it to pop out. He's also a bit taller so he may have had the filter going in at a straighter angle than I did. If you're having problems, find a weight lifter in your family to help, lol.

      @@ambermyers2724 Amber, there's a much better way to remove the filter. Place a steaming cup or other container of hot water under the filter where it is inserted. Wait about 5 or 10 minutes and the filter should come out easily.

    I have the Frigidaire refrigerator with French doors and have found a very simple and easy way to remove the filter (ULTRAWF) when it is stuck. Put a cup of boiled, steaming water underneath the filter where the filter attaches. Wait 5 to 10 minutes and the filter should easily come out without applying excessive force. I've been using this procedure for several years and it has always worked.

    • @Mr.Vet1969
      @Mr.Vet1969 5 месяцев назад

      @@chaddrader5941 I think that over time, the rubber o-rings on the prongs of the filter don't seat as well. and there's a small amount of leakage. The leakage area freezes and the filter is almost impossible to remove. I've found that it only takes 5 to 10 minutes for the steam from the cup of boiling water to free the filter. Best of luck.

    I just helped a friend change his filter. He as the one with the square ridge on the top and a little thin ridge just to the left of it. We could not get the filter to come out. We tried the boiling water and no go. My friend removed the little side plate on the housing at the back, and there is one screw holding the filter housing/guide on. He removed the guide/cover and the filter popped right out. The cover seemed to be binding up the filter, because the filter dropped a little after we removed the cover, then popped right out. We just put in the new filter and replaced the cover.
