I wish every “how to fix” video can be this straightforward and clear🎉
Thanks!
It helps that it is a very uncomplicated process as well.
The whole time i thought it was the thing in the back of the fridge. What is that???
Perfect! This is my exact refrigerator and after I finally found the filter I bought 6 months ago (which took me 2 hours) it installed just as you said. Thank you. Now if I could just find a video on how to replace the battery on my robo vacuum my day will be complete and no longer fraught with anxiety.
I’m glad the video helped! Good luck with your vacuum battery. You might be able to Google the make and model number and see if you can find out to replace that battery.
I appreciate you 🙏 took me 15 minutes to locate it. Good thing I found your video 😊
You’re welcome!

Thank you for this video! It is so helpful! We have this same fridge & we are wondering if you would recommend sticking to buying the filter by Whirlpool only or would a generic one suffices? We value your opinion. Thank you again!
A generic would work too. Just make sure it's compatible with your make and model.
Thank you for getting back to me, I will make sure it is the correct model. I appreciate you!
Hi Kevin, I have WRS321SDHZ08 and it is the same filter you are displaying. Per the operation manual when the filter is out I should get 1 cup of water per 8 seconds. I do get that but once the filter is placed in it takes close to 1 minute to get 1 cup of water. I have followed everything in your video to a T. Do you have any idea on what I can try next? Thank you!
You can try taking the filter out, and reinstalling it.
I’m trying to replace the old filter but the new one keeps popping out. Any thoughts on how what to do? We’ve tried putting the old one pack but that keeps popping out as well
Make sure it’s properly oriented. Do the o-rings on the new cartridge look ok? Use a flash light and look inside were the filter goes in. Make sure there isn’t any debris. Lastly, you can turn the water off to the refrigerator and then try to install the new filter.
Hi, I have done all the steps to replace the water filter, but after it started a strange noise in the back side a does not dispenser water. The ice maker is working good. What can I do?
If the ice maker is making ice, you should be getting water out of the dispenser too. It could be the solenoid water valve making the strange noise on the back side of the refrigerator. You can look up your make and model online and find a parts breakdown showing you all the parts.

Does anyone know how to put the white clip back on the water filter door? The clip popped off while I was closing the door.
Will it not snap back into the notches on the filter door?
Hello my filter door and the mechanism that removes the filter with ease has been broken and there is not a way to remove the old filter. Any suggestions?
You can grab the old filter with a large pair of channel locks and try to wiggle the old filter out. The door mechanism can be purchased online. Look up the make and model of your fridge and you should be able to find that part.
Same model when I close the door my filter hisses and leaks I can’t get it to seal correctly any ideas ?
Sounds like the filter is not seating all the way up into the filter housing , or the o-rings are damaged. I’d inspect the filter o-rings, might be able to replace the o-rings, or try a new filter. Also take a flashlight and look at the filter housing, see if it is cracked, corroded, etc.
After you install the water filter how long should water be coming out of the refrigerator we replaced the filter?
About 30 seconds to a minute... You shouldn't seen anymore carbon dust.
When I open the door on bottom, my filter does not pop out. Can I just put cloth around it and use plyers to pull it out?
Yes, that is what I would try to do as well gently wiggle it as you pull it out with a pair of pliers. Sometimes mineral deposits will accumulate around the rubber O-rings and make the filter hard to remove.
My filter isnt popping out when I open the door, same exact make/model of fridge...there any tutorials on how to fix a stuck filter?
You may be able to grab the filter with a large pair of channel locks and wiggle and pull on the old filter, until it comes out.
I have this same fridge. Whenever I popped out the old filter water started gushing everywhere. Did I have to turn off the water to the fridge?
Wow that’s unfortunate! You shouldn’t have to turn off the water normally, but in your case, I would from now on.
Same thing happened to me! I really need to turn the water off? Where??? Also it's difficult to open the little door
@paperhoarder should be a water shut off valve behind the fridge
When we popped in the new filter we noticed a little water was seeping out of the filter is that ok
Did it stop seeping?
My latch does not pull it out - I’m unable to get the filter out - any suggestions ?
If it was me, I would try to gently pray on it, just keep in mind if it breaks, you may have to buy a new latch for it.
My filter does not pop out after I open the door and I am finding it impossible to pull the filter out by hand. Any thoughts?
You could try to grab the filter with a pair of channel locks and gently wiggle it back-and-forth to get it to pop out. There’s probably corrosion built-up around the O-rings holding it in place.
Great...thanks...that worked
I pulled my new water filter after just putting it in because there was no water coming out. Now the new water filter won't stay in did I ruin the new filter? If not is there a way I can fix it so it will stay in? I love the way you explain things and wish I had seen your video first! HELP!!
I would double check to make sure the new and old filter look exactly the same. Make sure the new filter is pointing in the right direction. Look inside the filer housing with a flash light, make sure nothing is obstructing the filter pathway.
Thank u. Would that be the reason why my ice maker isn’t working
It could be, yes.
Help !! Not able to lock in and turn clockwise water everywhere it's Sunday morning
Roll your fridge out and turn the water off at the valve behind your fridge first. Soak up the water with old towels or if you have a wet shop vac use that if you have one.
With the water off be sure you’re installing the filter in the proper orientation and that the O-rings are not damaged or that the filter housing is not cracked. This particular filter does not twist you simply line up the arrow and push it straight in no turning required.
I changed my water filter with your instructions...Everything went well...However, even after purging a ton of water after installing the new filter, rmy water looks cloudy and full of tiny bubbles...Is that normal????
That’s normal. Does the bubbles and cloudiness go away?
Hi, thanks for this video. Question: How to replace the air filter?
You're welcome. Here is a video showing you how to change your furnace air filter:

Thank you for the quick answer. Sorry for the confusion. I mean how to replace the air filter for the refrigerator?
Much appreciated!
@tanumie2657 to my understanding, the Whirlpool refrigerator model #: WRS325SDHZ08 doesn’t have an air filter like other models.
@@kjfacilities-maint Thank you so much for the quick answer and clarification.
great.....i replaced filter now no water coming out. yes the arrows are pointing the same way.
I would double check to make sure it pushed in all the way that the door closes completely or take the filter back out and look with the flashlight to see if there’s any debris clogging the filter head. Make sure the water to the fridge is turned on.
My fridge is that model and doesn’t get cold. Basically the freezer is refrigerator and fridge it doesn’t cool.
I would pull the fridge out and gently clean off the condenser coils, check to make sure the vents inside the fridge/freezer aren’t blocked. Is the fan evaporator fan blowing air into the fridge? It could also be a bad thermistor.
So our door that helps to pop the water filter out fell off a while ago. We have no idea how to get it out now 🤦♀️
You can order a replacement filter door, and/or you can try to grab the filter with a large pair of channel locks and gently wiggle the filter out.
Thank you! @@kjfacilities-maint
You’re welcome!
Kevin, where was this filmed? Same exact fridge, same exact kitchen layout, same exact countertops and the Video description says Colorado where I am... Are you in my apartment complex!? 🤣😂🤣
lol…This was filmed in a detached single family house. :)
The door opens by itself constantly, any way to fix that problem?

Do you throw out the ice too?
If you run the water immediately after installing a new filter, then the water in the icemaker should be clean and clear so you should not have to throw the first batch of ice away.
However, if you have an ice maker only then yes, you would want to throw the first batch of ice away. Or, if you forgot to purge the water dispenser after installing a new filter.
@@kjfacilities-maint thanks for the info
Same fridge the dispenser won't work with a filter in it. New filter and won't work. Any suggestions as to why?
It could be the water solenoid valve has failed. Was the fridge water dispenser working previously? Is the water valve turned on behind the fridge? Does the icemaker work?
Kevin having the same issue with my refrigator filter, no water. Yes getting ice. Tried 2 new filters. What should I do? Thanks for your help.
@@kjfacilities-maint ice machine and water still work so long as the filter isn't in it
Yes the water worked previously. The water is turned on. I assume that I will have to call for repair service. Thanks for your quick response😊
Make sure the filter is fully seated, make sure the control lock is not activated. Here is a great troubleshooting resource:

Mine is stuck in there I can't figure out how to get it out
Can you grab it with a large pair of channel locks, and gently wiggle it back-and-forth and try and pull it out at the same time? To be safe, I’d turn the water off to your fridge when you try that.
@kjfacilities-maint yes I went out and bought some pliers and was on the floor for about an hour once i was able to get a hold of it i gentlt wiggled it to the left and i finally got that sucker loose & out but then I found out the both lines to the water dispenser had holes in them. So I only had two shark bites, 2 copper splitters, and some tubbing. So I fixed the two lines with some warm water and a blow dryer for the splitters to fit. And fixed the filter casing. Finally, it all works now. Thank u for this video
@tockalot awesome, I’m glad to hear you got it fixed!
God bless you sir. Whirlpools own website was less helpful than yours!!!!!
I’m glad the video helped!
“Wow”. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I replaced the filter...now it doesn't pop out. And nothing is working
You might be able to grab the filter with a pair of large channel locks and gently wiggle it and pull it out.
@@kjfacilities-maint I did. But I think the filters i got were awful.
@@kjfacilities-maint water no longer comes out unless I take out the filter
I would try a different brand of filter, inspect the filter housing with a flashlight, make sure there’s no debris clogged inside of it. The filter housing can also be replaced if need be.
Did not pop out
That sucks, you may need to grab it and wiggle it side to side. Or gently pull on it with a pair of channel locks.
Never mind - just read your apply above :)
