HH, my issue had to do with the filter for my whirlpool WRS325FDAB refrigerator. The issue was that when the new filter was inserted the water dispenser/ice maker fill-up would not work. When it was removed, both worked good. One of your suggestions was to take the filter out, dispense about a gallon or so water into a vat until all the air was removed (or stuttering in flow). After that procedure, I reinserted the filter, closed the filter door and tried the water dispenser and that worked for me. Now, I get both the dispenser water/ice filling and the new filter is in to do its job. At first, I thought it might be the "filter housing" that needed changing out. Since the water was flowing without the filter, that to me, ruled out a bad inlet/constriction/freeup in the system, etc. Thanks, HH.
I appreciate this. Though it doesn't cover the problem I have - unless I missed it - The door/cover stopped pulling the filter out. I removed the cover and i been looking for something to help put back together. I'm hoping it didn't include a spring - vaguely remember one - cuz i can't find. Please help...Thanks a bunch!
Same here. Turned off the water pipe, drained fridge water in a glass and then turned off power. Jiggled the filter a bit and it came right off. Didn’t want to break anything back there, things are pretty inaccessible too. Thank you. 🙏🏽
My Whirlpool (floor) filter door latch mechanism fell apart last time I changed filters. I could get a new filter in, but now can’t release the old one. I wish the manufacturer would have hired engineers to design these things.
Same here, I have replaced the filter 5 times now... I am able to run the 4 gallons through the filter no issue, then a few days later the filter ceases ... anyone get any resolution?
Idk if you’ll see this due to being so old of a video But my Kenmore side by side model series 55471 has water & ice dispenser but NO FILTER .. we have all searched the fridge up and down, left & right .. even at the very bottom (the vented vicinity) ANYONE??? We are not naive lols .. but literally no where’s to be found … help please Why would it have water and crushed ice but no filter? Thanks
Is part of the door broken? I would take the rest of the filter housing off and inspect it to see if any parts are missing or broken. You'll get a better view of what's going on and how the door should be put back if no parts are broken.
I just recently changed the water filter on my whirlpool wrf560sehz. Ice does dispense but the water dispenser does not? It was able to dispense water after like filtering a few gallon of water but then it stop. Is it the air issue too? Please advise what I should do?
every drop filters are crap. had problems with them day one. 2014 frig some times they work. some times i make it work. now it doesn't want to work. its not the frig. its these very $$$$$ filters. every drop is doing nothing about it.
I have the same type of filter. I put new filter in and the door came off, but no parts broke. I don't know how to put it back together. Never been good with puzzles! 🤷♂️
The door on the filter came apart when my gf forced a filter in and forced the door closed. I took off the cover and there was an unattached arm above the filter. Can't figure our how to hook it back up
I changed the filter and now it has a loud hammering sound. I put thr old filter back in and no issues. The filter is the Everydrop Number 1. I bought two new ones and they both do the same thing, loud hammering noise . Old number 1 works fine
Thanks for the tip. I punched mine a few times and the water started flowing as it should. Mine did not have the hammering noise as others have mentioned. Just slow flow.
I experienced the same door (as you at the bottom left under the freezer side) keeping cocked half-open. I oriented the direction properly using the arrows, then closed it with the filter, and put a little pressure behind it until it clicked shut and flush.
If I align it properly as the arrow says and snap/push it in with a little grit, it locks in and doesn't leak. However, the lever should be able to close without brut force. I'm wondering why not?
I have a question 🙋♀️ what if the water dispenser makes a noise. So I recently changed my filter, flushed it, it worked fine then the next day, it would make a loud noise every time I get water. Why do you think that it? And how do I fix it?
Are you aware of issues during filter change that water gushes out of the filter area? Brand new French door with water and ice in door and first filter change flooded my refrigerator. Water made it into my freezer drawer!
Depends on make and model. Yours is the Whirlpool WRS571CIHZOO or WRS571CIHZO1. FYI, the filter only goes in one way. Notice the upper and lower grooves?
After replacing the new water filter, the water doesn't dispense out. I am sure to place the correct position, which is the same as the old water filter. Also, I have already pressed to reset the light. The water still doesn't dispense out. Please give me any advices. Thank you
I had the same problem and fixed it!! It seems weird & counter-intuitive, but when you close the filter door, don’t press it all the way. For me, it only works when I barely close the door until the click. Any additional pressure causes the fridge to make noise and not dispense water. (When I put the old filter, same make and model, it works fine even if I press it hard)
Our Whirlpool fridge uses the EveryDrop 1 filter. We’ve had our fridge for a couple of years and have had no problems after changing the filters. We recently had to change our filter, but the new one clogged up almost immediately and wouldn’t dispense. When we removed the filter, the water flowed just fine. We returned the new filter back to Amazon, and then bought a new one from Lowe’s. The same thing happened again! We then exchanged it again at Lowe’s. (The Customer Service person said unless they’re told something is wrong with the filters they put them back on the shelves!! 😮) The third “new” filter is not dispensing water/ice AGAIN! But, again, the water dispenser and ice maker work just fine when the filter is not installed. What would be your suggestion to fix this problem, if any? #sofrustrated
Changed my filter, which was stuck, and water dispenser stopped working. Fix for me was to change water inlet valve on back of fridge. There are videos on that. Easy repair. Part cost about $40. Be sure to remember to turn off water supply whenever taking off hose and to unplug fridge when doing repair.
I have that fridge. The filter was stuck and I was able to get it out, but when I put the new one in, the plastic cover that folds down popped off and I'm having trouble getting it back on. Any tips?
I changed my filter and after I reset the filter and ran water through it I have a red symbol above my light button do you know what this is? 4:55 in your video it shows up on your control screen. Thanks
I used the correct filter and the system work fine but the ice maker stops making ice. water still flows fine. so I change the filter and the ice maker makes ice. The problem is the filter only lasts about one month, and the ice stops coming. what could be the problem?
My refrigerator was dispensing water doing ok then I checked the temperature and my refrigerator started beeping. I then reconfirmed filter change and it stopped dispensing ice and water. Ice maker is on filter is in good, but when I go to get water or ice it beeps. Helps🙏
I thought I had mine installed properly seem to be working but the water is coming out warm so I guess it’s not going through the filter. I have no idea but it’s been a frustrating day.
I just replaced the filter and flushed 4 gallons and of water and next day it wont work. A few drops would come out and then it started making a loud noise. Could this be a bad filter?
My whirlpool model has the filter at the bottom in the freezer side. Every time I change my water filter, water comes pouring/spraying out until I get the new one in place. Any thoughts?
Robert, you'll want to check the o-rings on the filter to make sure they are not damaged. Then, I would recommend removing the filter housing and see if there is anything impeding the filter from fully seating. A test you can do, if you have another filter, try it to see if you get the same issue. Are you using the EveryDrop brand filter?
Mine works well at first but then slows down the water flow after a month. Do you have a fix for this? It looks like I have the same refrigerator in this video.
I have replaced the filter 5 times now in about 2 months... I am able to run the 4 gallons through the filter no issue, then a few days later the filter ceases, i also ensure to hold the reset button on the filter indicator and reset it. I have an Amana model AS1257GRS05, using a everydrop #1, i cant imagine i have the wrong filter since i used the previous filter to find the ones i purchased, unless the previous renters had installed the wrong filter lol... any suggestions?

I have an Amana fridge. It’s just poorly designed. None of the troubleshoots you suggest is working. I replaced the valve. Didn’t solve the issues. I replace the filter and for like 10 seconds it was working perfectly then it just dispense very, very slowly. Took out and put back the new filter several times. Reset the flitter button. Didn’t solve the issues. I looked at the lines. No air. Just water. The water pressure is fine going to the fridge. The new filter is acting like it’s a used filter. I spent too much money already trying to solve this annoying issue. I’m about to just get a new fridge. I think it’s the design of the filters is causing the water to not flow. When I install the filter, I can hear it when the water flow through it then just stops after I empty the filter of water. It’s a very hanky system.

Pump about a gallon of heavy duty all purpose grease from AutoZone into the filter housing. Let it sit for 48 hours, then take a 3/8" drill bit, drill a hole in the dead center, it has to be perfectly centered. Next, find a corrosion resistant bolt that fits and screw it in half way. Unscrew the same bolt and put in about 8 ounces of sand through the hole. Fine a 100 ft galvanized aircraft grade towing chain and attach it to the hole in the filter with that bolt. Like in my refrigerator the red warning indicator is on like in your video. The water seems to be coming out correctly and there are no leaks. Did it just disappear?
I have an Amana and the cover for the filter broke. I was using it gently. Mine is located below the freezer space. I think the temp made the plastic extra brittle. I have the filter jammed in (fortunately) but the cover is not physically locked in. Any suggestions. I found the part and it’s the entire housing for $135. I would buy it, remove the cover, and install that on mine. Any suggestions?
I need to replace the filter, but I can't open the water filter compartment door to replace it. I have opened it before, but won't open this time. Hope you can help me.
Any time I try to dispense water, the filter pops out. I've tried more than one different filter so it's not a damaged filter issue. I'm sure it is lined up properly when I put the filter(s) in and it still pops out. You mentioned high water pressure but no correction for that issue. Any other helpful tips or suggestions?
Are you sure the filter door is latching completely? Or it's not broken? Maybe there is something wrong with the o-rings on those filters. Also check to make sure there is nothing blocking inside where the filter plugs in.
After weeks trying to understand the “filter popping out” with the high water pressure, I just turned the valve behind the refrigerator to about half or 3/4 instead of opening it all the way and allowing the water to be pushed at max capacity. This stopped my filter from popping out - I appreciate you on this big time when I finally understood it today 🙏🏼
My unit is leaking from behind the filter housing. Is there a way to take off the housing inorder to see what is causing the leak. It leaks water anytime the water dispenser is being used and the water leakes down the inside of the wall of the fridge. Any help would be appreciate it. Thanks
Hi.i have bought in flyging tiger earbuds.just suddenly one of them didnt want to the tights earbuds its seems not conecting .do you think you hjelp me
Hello, i have double door a whirlpool refrigerator with filters in the bottom. my problem is my water flow is very bad, and when i took the filter out, the water was running from the holes. but when i put the filter in and closed it , i don't see the water leak or coming out from it. and my water flow is still slow

same for me with KitchenAid fridge!
Jimmy, yeah, I had to push the replacement filter in hard with both thumbs....🙂

Thanks! releasing the water pressure released my stuck #4 Everydrop filter.
Same here. Turned off the water pipe, drained fridge water in a glass and then turned off power. Jiggled the filter a bit and it came right off. Didn’t want to break anything back there, things are pretty inaccessible too.

What is the filter you purchased?
My Whirlpool (floor) filter door latch mechanism fell apart last time I changed filters. I could get a new filter in, but now can’t release the old one. I wish the manufacturer would have hired engineers to design these things.
Same thing happened to mine i took it apart and got it fixed luckily the little piece didnt break if you need more info on how to do it i can help
This is what happened to mine. Can’t get it out now
My filter is in the bottom and now all I get is a small drizzle. Or no water.
Same here. But, when we remove the filter, the water is dispensed like normal.
Same issue here too.
Same here! Did anyone find a fix?
Same here, I have replaced the filter 5 times now... I am able to run the 4 gallons through the filter no issue, then a few days later the filter ceases ... anyone get any resolution?
Same here.
I ended up turning the water off to the house due to the water pressure. That was my fix.
@HandyHudsonite what if you changed the filter and water still tastes/smell funny and little things floating in it??
usually need to run 3-4 gallons through a new filter to remove loose carbon
Thank you for the video
Idk if you’ll see this due to being so old of a video
But my Kenmore side by side model series 55471 has water & ice dispenser but NO FILTER .. we have all searched the fridge up and down, left & right ..

Did you resolve this issue and how did you go about it
filter inserted wrong way - can’t pull it out - any ideas
The door on mine broke, because I did not remove the tip first.
We keep getting bad taste even with new filters that have been primed
I am having same issue. Ice is getting all clorine flavor but water taste like tap water 😢

My kenmore fridge is just like yours n my filter is stuck in there tight, it was inserted properly, so I don’t know why it’s jammed
I changed the filter and now it has a loud hammering sound. I put thr old filter back in and no issues. The filter is the Everydrop Number 1. I bought two new ones and they both do the same thing, loud hammering noise . Old number 1 works fine
See my comment above, I literally punched the filter cover straight on a few times until the water comes out and no noise.
What happens when you dont have money to replace the o ring. Cuz we DONT 😂
My issue was no water dispensing or very slowly and would make a loud noise...punching the filter cover a few times actually did the trick lol
I have purchased four filters. Won’t dispense water. Putting the old filter back in and works fine.
Thanks for the tip. I punched mine a few times and the water started flowing as it should. Mine did not have the hammering noise as others have mentioned. Just slow flow.
Thank you, thank you thank you. I had the hardest time getting my filter light off thank you so much for showing me how to do it.
Why wont the door close when replacing the filter? It closes fine without the filter in. Followed instructions withe arrows.
I experienced the same door (as you at the bottom left under the freezer side) keeping cocked half-open. I oriented the direction properly using the arrows, then closed it with the filter, and put a little pressure behind it until it clicked shut and flush.
I can't get the door closed on mine either! It's lined up correctly, but with much force it still won't snap shut.

Will water flow to ice maker without the filter ?
Mine doesn’t dispense water using a new filter. Put the old filter in and water dispenses without any issues. We have the same frig from this video.
On another blog, someone said the guide pin was 1/16" too long compared to older filter 1. They filed/cut back the guide and fixed their issue
Like in my refrigerator the red warning indicator is on like in your video. The water seems to be coming out correctly and there are no leaks. Did it just disappear?

Press the button inside the fridge door 5 times fast to reset it
Does the filter control the cooling of the refrigerator
We get a clunking sound when the valve closes after dispensing water. Anyone know how to fix that?
That's the ice cover retracting. I think that's by design
How do we install a bypass for this filter ? We already have a water softener and Reverse osmosis system and don't need a filter for the refrigerator.
you dont need a filter. just take it out and close it

Hello, i have double door a whirlpool refrigerator with filters in the bottom. my problem is my water flow is very bad, and when i took the filter out, the water was running from the holes. but when i put the filter in and closed it , i don't see the water leak or coming out from it. and my water flow is still slow
Same problem, did you find a solution?
