Oh my goodness thank you I’ve looked at at least 10 videos on how to remove the filter and I finally got it thank you I had to literally climb in my refrigerator to hold it like you did to get it out (I’m short) lol
Oh my gosh. You just rocked my world! I had bought my first new replacement filter, stuck it in there. No water. Couldn't get it out. I was SO MAD! I'm just a girl! I can't fix too many things! After viewing this video I did remove the cartridge and replace it... just figured out it was probably right. The reason there was no water is that there was probably air in the tubes. DUH. How would I have even known that without you? Held the cup up there and water and air started coming out, just like you showed. I wouldn't even probably understood how to reset the thing - I have never used the options feature. But I did it and it worked out beautifully. I hope my icemaker will resume function. I don't think it was so I was buying ice for a few days. I am optimistic. Anyway... thank you so very much for this clear and concise tutorial. I really appreciate it!
@@LEARNINGCHORDS I followed the instructions in the video. Once the housing around the filter was removed and I pushed in on the filter, it come right out. Really simple fix.
To remove the filter I tried pushing up, pushing down with no luck. What worked for me, and others, is to push in filter and next turn the filter to the left (counter clockwise) It should pop out. Did not have to twist it crazy hard, but harder than twisting a door knob. Hope this helps.
This filter cannot be turned, it has 2 protrusions inserted into to same size holes. It would take channel lock pliers and MUSCLE to turn it. I'm speaking g of the filter in this particular video.
Mine is push in push out type, got stuck, eventually had to call repair guy, he gave it a strong push then a strong pull (which was surprising to me), after a couple of push in pull out, it dislodged,
I had this problem and got up on a chair so I could put strong direct pressure on it, pushed really hard and maybe jiggled a little, and it finally popped out after several tries.
I noticed your water flow from the dispenser a little weaker than normal. That's how mine began and after a couple of later filter replacement the flow has become extremely slow. I am still searching for a fix.
My new filter won’t lock in place. The old one did not break but I did have some trouble getting it out. (I didn’t see your video about the filters getting stuck until after I removed it.) I hear a click when I push it on but it won’t stay in place. Any tips?
This was a GREAT video! The only problem is I do not have a place to purge the water as I have a: no water door. Any suggestions? Again thanks so much! Missoula, MT
@@LEARNINGCHORDS What glass? I hate to seem obtuse, but I have no outlet other that the ice maker which would not work for a purge. Think I'll get some tubing and run water through it from the hose.
i replaced the filter but now under Freezer Temp it says 5Y and under Refrigerator Temp it says CF. Does that mean 5 years? Does something have to be done after 5 years? The water will not come out, nothing happens when i press to pour the water out...Can you please tell me what needs done to fix this...thnx so much
we followed instructions exactly and now water is coming out through the light to the right of water lever. we are not sure what happened. we bought a high quality filter. help please
i buy only frigidaire filters.. DID you remove the plastic covers on the ends of the filer? if you did then I would remove and try again. you need to put in and hear the filter click in place.. if this doesnt help then install the old filter again and see if it works.. if it does then you have a bad new filter. if it still floods then you have a problem with the fridge mating with the filter
@@LEARNINGCHORDS yes. We did remove the plastic covers. Unfortunately my wife threw the old one out. We tried two different frigidaire filters specified in the owners manual
i thought i explained how to reset that in the video. if it is not in my video then check my channel for the other video on the same filter. I tell you how to reset it
This is a nice video but the filter system constantly gets stuck when replacing; this squeezing hasn’t worked yet. Horrible design. Would not recommend unless a remedy is found by the mfgr.
@@LEARNINGCHORDS thé entire first part of the video concerns this very subject, that an alternate method of holding the filter while pushing in was used, then there was a surprised réaction that it worked easily. This method does not work for all and there are plenty of other comment reactions with this experience. It costs extra money to hire a person to come fix this (change the filter) after numerous attempts by different people using different methods fails to get the filter out. The recommended filter change makes this a costly endeavor and needless hassle.
I came to this video for the last minute. I couldn't figure out how to reset the light. This video got there, so great job!!!! :)
You're welcome!

PLUS, when I run out of store-bought ice, I learned that there is a reset button on my icemaker. This is awesome. Thanks, again!
You should have read the manual.
Thanks for the info. My filter was stuck. I watched your video and was able to fix the problem and install the new filter. Yay!!!
what did you do to get it unstuck

This was great I didn't even know my options button worked like that my replace light has been on since I replaced it a month ago!
Thanks much for Reset info. Got everything but couldn't figure out where that Reset was.
Thank you so much. We replaced the filter a few days ago, but couldn't figure out how to reset it. Thanks for sharing. It helped so much.
Thanks for the info on how to reset the red light. That was the one part of this process I could not figure out! 👍
Mine was stuck! I almost gave up! But I did what you did and it came out! Thank you!
Great job!
Thank you just reset my fridge by letting my water flow everything came back to normal. Just followed your steps.
Glad it helped
The simple stuff made easy. Thanks man for the how to video.

good job, very informative.
My filter has broken off inside the filter case. How can I get the remainder out?
Thank you so much!
I couldn't get mine out regardless. It was design fault with plastic to plastic.
so you don't have to turn ice maker off?

I wish I could help but I am not there and have no idea why... I wish you success fixing this-
do you need to shut the water off to the fridge first?
thanks bro
Omg thanks so much!!
Is your model # PGHS2631PF4A? Thanks
I mean your refrigerator not the filter model #.
Thank you so much, this helped my issues.
thanks jason
Why is flow rate so slow? Is it supposed to be like that in those fridges.
Well done! Thanks
filter does not release
Thank you, Sir.
New filter will not lock in place
not good
Thanks
NEW filter will NOT lock in place
no idea why this happens to some people. there is nothing to stop it.. try to put the old one back in and see if it is still working for in and out
good work
I CHANGED THE FILTER , LIGHT STILL SAY CHANGE FILTER

dude its a CARBON filter does anything about carbon sound healthy to you? yea i didnt think so.. folks these things could also hold a gmo. beware
Bro do even a slight amount of reading on carbon it's been used for centuries to remove toxins from your body it's like super fucking homeopathic
gosh, mine is stuck too, why does everything have to be so complicated .
SAME!!
