Thank you very much
@ladyrob4110 You're very welcome. We're glad the video helped!
Thank you good information please how I can change the air filter be nice to do all in the video
Well I’m about to attempt to change my filter after only having this refrigerator for 6mos. And it’s wasn’t cheap 🤔 my refrigerator is different I’m not able to cut off the ice maker, but I will follow the steps as shown
Please note- this filter may have clean plastic caps on the 2 spouts at top which need to removed before pushing in. All else was exactly the way he said. Great video otherwise
Wish I had seen this before I tried to put the filter in. It doesn’t say it anywhere in the literature. I’ve been reading from the new part and from the manual. Thank you!
Thank you! I the filters were just delivered and wasn’t sure if those stayed on or not 😅
Tried to push mine in because did not see these came off
Have I damaged it
Thank you! Was about to ask him this.
What do you do if the filter is stuck?
I had the same exact problem! I used a pair of metal tongs to take out the old filter! The business end of the tongs fits perfectly around the filter and inside the housing.
Question why is my brand new fridge leak from there. frigidaire frss26l3af7. Every time I use water it's a mess on the inside.
one of the o rings is stuck in the filter holder how do I remove that
Crappy ice maker design who else had to get it replaced with in a year
I haven’t had issues with mines yet🤞🏾 but where you would place your cup to get ice the back panel on mines cracked and one of my storages draws cracked as well. The price I paid for this damn thing, these things should not be happening, I haven’t even had it a year 🙄 and it’s only me and my hubby here so I can’t blame it on kids
Crappy fridge. Trash
At approximately 1:05 in the video, there is a shot displaying the compartment. Inside the compartment there is a yellow thing in the lower half.
My question is, is this yellow sticker type thing supposed to remain in the compartment or is it something that is used to keep the filter in place during shipping? I'm asking because whenever I replace my filter this yellow thing always gets in the way of the new filter and I have to use something to move it out of the way in order to install the replacement filter.
I've tried to remove the yellow thing completely, but without disassembling the filter housing it's next to impossible. Is the yellow thing a necessary part to ensure the filter is seated snugly or can I safely remove it so I don't have to push it out of the way each time?
@dizdizzle We checked the other models on the floor and it looks like part of the insulation as we saw it in a number of other models. We're checking with Frigidaire to see if they can shed some light on it as well.
I see something blue in mine and it’s in the way, causing leaks. Is it supposed to be removed?
@@abtelectronics Any update on this from Frigidaire?
My replacement doesn't snap into place. I've tried & tried several times to push it in, but it doesn't click into place 😢.
Did you figure it out?
@Captainkirk88410 No it still doesn't work.
I smell something burning right after replacing it and also trickling water although I do not have my Frigidaire hooked up to a water system. Is the smell and sound of trickling water normal?
@Deew.5634 That is not typical. If you don't have your refrigerator hooked up to a water supply there shouldn't be any water coming from it. Also, you won't need to use a filter if you don't have a water line hooked up. If it was purchased from Abt please give us a call at 800-860-3736 so one of our technicians can help figure out what is going on.
We don't have the exact same fridge, but the filter is the exact same configuration. We cannot get the filter to pop out. We shut off the icemaker and pushed as hard as we could, but the filter will not pop out. Our fridge model is FRSS2323AW. Hope you can help.
I'm having the same problem
Me Too
Me four?
Same issue. I pressed REALLY hard and fast. Sure enough it popped out.
How did y’all get the filter out?
Do you remove plastic cap of the filter two top tips ?
@sushilavirupsnnavar8501 If there are plastic caps on the ends of the filter they should be removed before installation.
We can easily remove the current water filter, but the new one will not click in. The original one clicks back into place. We tried 3 brand new ones and none will click back into place. Any thoughts? We confirmed the exact model #
@carl grier If it's not clicking into place, check the nozzle on the new filter to make sure there isn't a cap that needs to be removed. Occasionally they'll have a piece on the end that protects it during shipping. If your refrigerator was purchased from Abt, you can take advantage of our free technical support and talk to a technician over the phone as well. Just send your contact info to youtube@abt.com and we'll have one of our technicians reach out. Or you can contact the store directly here: www.abt.com/help/contact-us
Mine is having the same problem. The only thing I can figure right now is damage on my new one
Did anyone resolve this? I am having the same issue.
@staceyortlund im having the same issue as well. Did you figure out a way to get yours to click into place ?
What if the filter leaks when it’s clicked into place but only when it’s in there?
@dannybardon2934 It could be that there was a little water that leaked in the process of removing the old one and installing the new one. If it continues to leak we would recommend removing the new filter and re-installing it to make sure it is seated properly. Also, check the rubber gasket at the tip of the filter to make sure there are no cracks where water might be escaping.
I fir got to turn off ice maker. Does that make refrigerator leak ?
Thank you
@sushilavirupsnnavar8501 Most refrigerators do not require you to turn off the ice maker to change your water filter. It's best to consult your owners manual to be sure for your particular model.
Our Fridgidaire "replace water filter" light came on when we never even had water hooked up to it. We literally ran no water through it and the light still came on to replace the filter.. that seems really shady to me esp since the filters are like $50 bucks a piece.
But thanks for the helpful video!
@RW-zh7kl The filter light is on a 6 month timer on most refrigerators which is likely why it's turning on. To turn it off there should be a button on the display you can hold down for 3-5 seconds. But this only resets the timer. You'll likely need to repeat that process every 6 months.
Is there a need to have a filter inside if water is not being ran?
This looks easy enough. I will attempt to change it myself. I sent this to hubby for him to look at it also. Wish me luck🤞🏽. Thanks again.
Where I buy filter online
We have no water dispensing, no ice making. I'm thinking the valve is closed at the back. Brand new machine.
😊😊😊😊
Do you know how to remove the filter if it's stuck. I pushed it but it never released. I've been looking but I can't seem to find any information on that😢
@tricyloft9038 It's possible that you're not pushing the filter in far enough. It can take a little more effort than you may think necessary. Once you push it in far enough the filter should release from the housing and slide right out. If you're shorter in height, sometimes standing on a stepstool to give yourself more leverage can help, just be very cautious and don't lose your balance.
@@abtelectronics i've tried that and so have my sister and it just doesn't seem to pop out. Its like its not center. I thought that there might be another way to remove it
Is it possible to break the water filter while putting it in?
@user-vl7ku2kr8m It's unlikely, but is certainly possible. If you're having trouble installing the filter and it was purchased from Abt please send your contact information to us at youtube@abt.com and we can have one of our in-house technicians contact you to try and help. We offer free lifetime technical support on any products purchased from our store.
If the Push to Remove the Filter doesn't work and you think it's stuck, use a pair of metal tongs to pull out the filter!
It's sad that i had to research a video on how to do this when all the company had to do is put a stamp in the plastic part - press to remove.
For real!
What if you can't get the filter out
@margaretdavis765 Sometimes it takes a little more force than you might think. Try pushing a little harder on it to see if it will release. If that doesn't work, you may need to set up a service call. If your refrigerator was purchased from Abt please give us a call at 800-860-3736.
How do you reset the filter
You just hold in the button inside of the freezer door. I just figured this out today. It will flash red and then reset itself
Mine leaks! WTF?!!!!
U have to buy a new fridge
I hate the fridge! All it does it beep and all the plastic shelves are broken after a year in some way
@KellyK387 If you purchased your refrigerator from Abt please give us a call at 800-860-3736 so we can try and resolve the issues you're having.
False
mine does not have a button to turn off ice maker, please advise, the ice stunk from day1, and I never use it
@carolynw3602 It should have a button to turn the ice maker off. It may be inside the freezer on the front of the ice maker itself. It varies by model. If you purchased yours from Abt, please send your contact information to youtube@abt.com and we can look up your model in our records to let you know.
