A piece of advice that doesn't show up here or in the instructions is you might need a tiny bit of downward pressure on the end of the filter as you press it in. With out that the filter won't budge.

Now here is a dumb question. We took the old filter out and it was heavy but the new filter is very light. I’m assuming the old filter is heavy because it is full of debris??

Had to hunt around several videos for the 10 seconds showing you push the old filter to pop it out. I forget this every time. Also, that Frigidaire makes several (at least 2) mutually incompatible filters which can't be returned once purchased.

Thanks for good demonstration. I'm a little baffd by the lighting that the filter is supposed to come on when it's time to change the filter and i've pushed the button till it gives a double beep. Here's my prob--the yellow light, green and red appear to be about the same colors to me and so i can't really go by the colored light if it does light i would think if it comes on, it may be time to think about changing the filter. Any suggestion-probably the date i put in the filter's the best alternative.

@@derrickdeon6302 Yeah, mine just needed a little adjusting of the new filter's middle plastic piece that sliped out of position. When I got in a good position it clicked right in.

Is it still safe if the carbon doesn't fully dissolve? Felt like forever, and I still see the white spectacles under the light with the water dispenser. Doesn't look appetizing to say the least, but its just filtered water going through the same process regardless lol.

I have the same Frigidaire as yours and just changed the filter. But on the box, I am told told to " Press and hold the water filter button on the Ice & Water dispenser control panel for 3 seconds. When the display changes from Red to Green, the status has been reset.". Any idea how to do that ? Please help. Thank you !

, You do that after you have replaced the filter in order to reset the indicator light on the panel from red to green

@@ddanster91 , On the front of the fridge with both doors closed, there are 5 buttons, push the left button that says water filter until the red light goes off and a green light comes on.
Mine only has 4 buttons on the left door . Light, on and off,cube,crush

Hello, IF it doesn't "POP" out TRY this. PUSH filter in and give forceful tug swiftly on filter itself. It should come out unless the tension spring inside the filter housing itself is broke. IF that's the case the ENTIRE filter housing must be replaced. Hope this helps
Ice can build up around it on the inside. Boil a pot of water and sit it under the filter housing for about 10 min then try to push it in to release it. The steam will melt the ice enough to be able to remove the filter.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to buy factory parts. The knock off filters will get stuck in your fridge !

Add downward pressure as you push it in. Sometimes without that it won't pop out or in fact move at all.

@@angelam.6649 I, literally, banged on it then did what was instructed, even then i had to wiggle the tar out of it but after the beating it into submission, calling it some bad things and telling it to just let go and move on, that it wasnt me its you who stopped working for the relationship, it finally gave up and left the fridge. :)
